You can disregard the recent one star reviews, firstly, one was vegan but complains about bland food. I highly doubt it was, but if so, what do you expect..... you're vegan! This place, as said many times, is the jewel in Shipley's crown! Established over 27 years is all you need to know. A bad reputation does not get you 27 years. Been here twice recently and the food is great, good and friendly service. Food arrived in good time and portion sizes were big, bearing in mind it's tapas.....and piping hot! Food wasn't on the table long enough to get more photos 🤣 More than happy to recommend and will be back again soon!

Wow, what fabulous food! This place is a hidden gem in the heart of Saltaire/Shipley. I ordered lunch for 30 staff at work and left it all up the the chef. I can only praise him, it has been so amazing, we will be coming back for more!!

The clue is in the name..😁 Spoilt for choice , so, go for it ! The selection of dishes is amazing , tasty & truly scrumptious. Everyone is made to feel welcome. 3 adults & 2 children in our party . We all enjoyed the food & sharing is the name of the game here.....

Excellent tapas food with many choices. Good atmosphere and service. Prices reasonable. Early bird even greater value. Recommended

Horrible end to the evening! The food is nice enough, just rather unremarkable. The real downside is the atmosphere and service. People I assume are managers being very abrupt to staff and shouting. This seems to also happen to customers too. Staff shouting out orders to customers really loudly right behind us. Then on leaving they told us that the bill had been calculated wrong and we owed around £2. We attempted to pay by card and this was looked on with disgust, so we had to ask friends to make the payment as we didn't have change. The waiting staff seemed lovely, real shame that everything else was a massive disappointment. Would not return as it was also very expensive.

This little place was recommended by a family member and we weren't disappointed. We turned up at lunchtime without booking and were welcomed in by a lovely lady who seemed to be the only front of house staff. Three dishes each from the comprehensive Early Bird menu at £14.95 was great value and the portions were very generous. We had calamari (I don't normally like it but it was delicious), a chicken dish, spare ribs, paella, garlic mushrooms, and brie with cranberry sauce among others. All delicious, and the bread basket with balsamic vinegar and olive oil was gorgeous. Well worth the money...we'll be back.

I came to tapas tree on my first Mother’s Day and I was not disappointed! Greeted by a young lad, who genuinely seemed to care for us as customers followed by Anne-Marie who advised where we could leave our pram in a safe place. We were seated right away and our drinks were taken as soon after. Food came swiftly and we were not disappointed!! Allot of care goes into the preparation of the food, you can tell this a mile off. We had 7 plates and dessert and it was all just absolutely spot on. Very impressed by the service we received and the food! Will definitely be making this our top 5 places to go to eat out on a date night!!

Food was amazing however we had to wait nearly an hour for any sign of food, no bread to nibble on, no checking if we needed anymore drinks or even if the food was OK. Really good size portions and absolutely delicious food! Will definitely try again and hope the service is improved.

What a little gem this place is. Came here the other weekend for the first time with a friend and we weren't disappointed, the food is absolutely amazing and there is plenty of choice. Can't wait to come back again.

We love the Tapas Tree. The staff are always smiling and very helpful. They are knowledgeable about the food and if they are unsure will do their best to find out. They explained how to order from the menu. The food is plentiful and very tasty. We ordered 7 dishes between 3 of us and we didn't feel we'd ordered enough but we had. We would highly recommend a visit to the Tapas Tree. One word of warning. Not recommended for people with mobility difficulties, as there are steps and no ramps.

The food here was great. Such a wonderful selection and everyone loved every dish that we got. 2-3 tapas per person is perfect!

Went for lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. The service was great with a lovely friendly waitress. The food was really nice, large portions so only needed two tapas dishes each, spoilt ourselves with deserts which were again very generous portions. Atmosphere a bit lacking as we were the only people there but music was good and heating on so can’t complain just a shame not more people using this unique restaurant which has been in Shipley for many years.

Lovely food and great service. It was a quiet evening in general, but it was just missing the Spanish atmosphere. However, that didn't take anything away from how delicious the food.

Unfortunately left feeling rather unsatisfied and £135 down. Went with my partner and two friends for a catch up meal and we’ve all decided we wouldn’t return for a further meal. The mushrooms were swimming in grease and my friend really didn’t like the prawns as the batter was greasy and the meatballs apparently tasted like microwave ones. The staff speak quite abruptly to you which seems unnecessary especially when you speak perfectly pleasantly to them and it was very loud and cold too. When we were leaving we got shouted by a lady staff member that we calculated our bill wrong and were £1.10 short. I had no change and attempted to pay card but was looked at with a look of disgust and had to send my partner outside to grab £2 from my friend to pay. No attempt was made to give the change owed back to us either, it was just put straight into the till. Would not return and I feel quite sad about it because we were looking forward to it after so many good reviews. What I will say is that the young girl waitress was very pleasant and friendly with us, it seems like the managers are the ones that are the issue.

Last minute decision to drive somewhere and google search for somewhere to have lunch. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. Tapas menu - plenty of choice, early bird menu, food was delicious and service was fantastic…..

The culinary highlight of Shipley by a huge margin. Not the cheapest takeout option available, but the food was astonishingly good. Objectively good tapas, not just in comparison to the alternatives nearby. Highly recommended!

Team lunch so I opted for 2 of the 3 vegan options . Hummus with pitta to start with - bland, tasteless and I detected a strange, 'plasticky' taste so left half of it. I'd ordered veggie chilli as a 'main' thinking it came with tortillas & asked for it without cheese & sour cream (no vegan alternatives avail). This was £8.65 for a very small bowl which came without tortilla chips or any accouterments at all. It was thick, again lacked taste and seemed like the left-over scrapings from the bottom of a pan. Thick, gloopy, disappointing. Thankfully I'd ordered extra pitta (from starter) so had something to go with the gloop. We weren't asked until the end if the food was ok - everyone else enjoyed theirs, I kept silent and begrudgingly paid for my lunch. I'd been wanting to visit for years, but never managed it. Won't be going again. No effort at all was put into presenting this overpriced, tasteless gloop & there's no interest it seems in catering for vegans. I wouldn't be able to make a veggie chilli taste that bad & I'm just a home cook. There's no excuse for the dish I was presented with. If I hadn't been with with team mates I'd have returned it & complained - I just didn't want to embarrass my colleague who made the booking, I didn't want her to feel upset that my meal was so awful.

Went with family for a birthday, first round of food came out cold but was quickly rectified. Dishes came out in random order and sporadically with side dishes coming out last. Besides the initial hiccups, the food was really nice and flavoursome

Amazing little hidden gem, food was piping hot when arrived. Every dish we couldn't fault. Service was great. Who ever owns this place should be proud of their team as Every single person went above and beyond to make sure the dining experience was enjoyed

It's okay. Based opposite the canal in Saltaire and has been there for years. Up steep stairs so beware if you have mobility issues. The acoustics are awful for some reason. Was busy when we went and was between deafening and painful. Service was okay. Nice, polite, bit slow. Food was okay. Portions were okay and nothing was bad, nothing was great, it was all just okay. Was a reasonable price. Overall, was the definition of in the middle-everything was okay, nothing bad, nothing great. Been here many times, I'm sure we'll probably go back again.

First visit at Tapas Tree, not disappointed, me, my daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed the food. Good selection, my daughter is vegetarian, she loved the choices. The staff were lovely, so friendly making the evening so comfortable, appreciated. Would recommend and will definitely come again. Thank you.

Excellent food and service as always. We have been going here for years and it never disappoints. Booked a table for 6.30pm on a Saturday night and the place was already busy. I was slightly worried as the staff looked a bit stressed but needn't have worried as food and service was excellent. Can't recommend this place enough, never had a bad meal yet.

It was ok, but not great, i probably won't go again. The staff weren't exactly helpful. The beer was nice - if not really expensive for a pint of Estrella (probably £5.50). Weirdly I didn't actually see the bill just the card machine placed in front of me! But it was about right so didn't kick up a fuss.

Had my husbands 60th last night and it was amazing. The staff we wonderful no request was too much for them. The room was decorated for us and everyone loved the food. Many thanks to all of you for making it a night to remember. We will be back xxx

Bit of a let down. Remember this place from many meals with my family in the past maybe through rose tinted glasses. This time five of us and £170. Honestly I question if the food was cooked in the kitchen on the night. We all felt rough the day after (no not beer I have 2 pints and the rest of the family soft drinks). Would not recommend.

Excellent dining experience my wife and I were invited midweek to a good friend of ours birthday. After having a few disappointed meals out we weren't really looking forward to the food. We were so wrong the food was unbelievable just like been in Malaga. every dish couldn't fault it, All arrived at the table hot and tasty and so authentic. We will certainly be dining here again if I had to give one downside it did feel a little chilly towards the end of the meal but it was January I maybe should of worn a jumper.
