Had a really nice evening hear tonight. The food was gorgeous. The staff are friendly and attentive. Really lovely little restaurant.

Well if you closed your eyes, smelled the delicious food and listened to the music. You could actually be in Greece. We were given a warm welcome by the friendly staff. We had the grill platter for 2, which was a portion generous in flavour and size. The souvlaki, the chops, the sausage all cooked and seasoned to perfection. With dips, salad, chips and sauces. Lovely fairplay, I eat all over the country and this was on a par with the best I've had

Absolute waste of money and time. The staff was not very well trained, cutlery and glasses dirty, tables not set up. No heating in the dinning area, we kept our coats on. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive even though there was no other tables. When it did, it was drowning in oil and lukewarm. The chicken was very chewy and chips were stale. The portions were rather small and so overpriced. My husband paid £17 for some boiled rice and watered down stew. Was definitely not fresh. The chef doesn’t follow regulations for food hygiene, no wonder they have a low food hygiene rating. The place overall very dusty and needs a clean, especially the floors. The “boss” is extremely unpleasant and clearly doesn’t know how to run a business, a very angry and unprofessional man. The staff was treated awfully and shouted at when they were in fact not the problem. Half of the menu and drinks were not available. Music was way too loud and the player kept pausing. Overall awful experience, I really do not recommend, will not be returning.

Fantastic food and run by a really lovely, friendly couple. This is a great addition to the restaurants in Shipley and offering something different to anywhere else in the area. The food is at least as good as any other Greek restaurant I've been to elsewhere and the upstairs restaurant has a great, comfortable atmosphere. i'll be back (probably more often than is good for me)!

Oh my god, the food here is amazing. The staff are all so kind and sweet, they gave me some cake for my birthday free of charge and played music and wished me a great day. A real sense of appreciation is felt here. I would also say to anyone who eats here come here on an empty stomach cause the portions are large and real good quality. I kid you not, if I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be the halloumi and hummus gyros, an absolute combination.... Get it with the sweet chilli sauce... You'll thank me later. Anyways thank you to lovely staff, you guys deserve it!

My wife and I were spending a few days visiting Saltaire and the Salt Mills and chanced upon Acropolis. We have eaten in restaurants all over the world and many times when holidaying in Greece. This was as good a Greek meal as we have eaten. It was beautifully and freshly cooked. The stuffed pepper starter was memorable. The staff were enterprising and friendly. The restaurant is in a newly refurbished upper floor area, which was spacious and warm. And the price was very competitive. All in all a very good evening out.

My husband and I have been getting acropolis takeaways for the last 2-3 years and love them. Last night we decided to eat in for the first time. The restaurant is a lovely surprise with lofty ceilings, greek photos and music. The music was a tiny bit loud for me. We ate: Creamy mussels Halloumi Mixed grill platter for 2 Baklava The food was amazing. The creamy mussels were out of this world delicious. The platter was extraordinary. I love the baklava. We thought it was excellent value for money, in fact my husband thought they were undercharging for the platter. The chef had a bit of a chat with us on the way out which is always nice in my opinion. I've already recommended to others and we'll be back. If they decide to deliver to the Keighley area in future we'll be able to increase our takeaways! Thanks

I brought my friend here for a meal who was visiting from America. We had the best meal. Portions were huge and everything was freshly cooked and very tasty. The staff were so friendly and attentive. The cocktails were also fantastic. Please give this small business a chance and you won't regret it.

Thought we would try this place . I can honestly say great venue and the food was 5* The portions were good and the staff were friendly and helpful. We had the mixed grill platter for 2 and traditional pork gyros and baklava . Absolutely fantastic food, way beyond our expectations and great value. I will definitely be coming again to try more if the menu and will be recommending this place to my friends .

We have received disturbing reports from concerned customers over the past few months who have visited Acropolis Shipley. The food is clearly of low quality and stored in poor conditions, there has also been reports of food out of date being served to customers. The greasy floors in the kitchen are creating an unsafe working environment and the food is prepared with unclean cooking equipment, increasing the risk of contamination during the preparation of food. Furthermore, one of our representatives reported hearing the manager/owner, shouting aggressively at his waiting staff for problems not caused or solvable by them. One of our representatives also spoke with a waiter who claimed that 8 members of staff had quit working at the restaurant in the space of a year. Awaiting further inspection, Acropolis Shipley does not appear to be a desirable place of dining.

Absolutely fantastic food! There was a bit of a wait between courses but the lovely serving staff explained it and gave us a discount for our wait. Also the food was totally worth the wait, my husband was transported back to Crete with the dolmades and the Greek salad was absolutely delightful! We will definitely be back!

Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant If you want an authentic Greek night out in Shipley, then head on down to the Acropolis, great food, atmosphere and people. Loved it.

Lovely Saturday night at acropolis! Food was to die for! The calamari and halloumi to start. Best calamari I have had for a long time! Perfectly cooked. Then the mixed and chicken gyros. Mains lush. Staff were extremely attentive. Great date night in Shipley. Will be sure to return if we are ever in the area!

Wierd location. Looks like a takeaway but there is a restaurant part to it on the top floor. The food is okay but astonishingly expensive for what it is. More costly to eat here than in a renowned eatery like Tapas, Shimla or Waterways.

Our first time ordering from here, after reading so many good reviews I was disappointed. We had two lamb gyros, what little lamb in there was over cooked and just tasted burnt. Far too many chips and not enough lamb (5 medium pieces) salad or dressing.

Me and my partner came here last night and what a lovely experience we had. The staff were so nice and the food was bloody beautiful! We had the meat mix sharer for 2 for £35, which was well worth it. We will definitely be coming back with friends.

What I can I say? Brilliant atmosphere, lovely welcoming staff and delicious food. 1st time eating at the restaurant but had a few takeaways, I can honestly say one of my favourite places to eat. You won't regret trying the food here.

£45 for this is a bit of a joke really. The three dips you see cost £7.50!!!!! Not the worst but honestly won't be paying these prices for the portion sizes again. Not to mention four or five starters on the menu were out of stock

Visited with my wife on a Sunday, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. Aoife looked after us and she couldn't have done more. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, and above all the food was amazing.

Amazing food 10 out of 10 spot on!!! I’ve had the buttefly chicken for my main and the grilled halloumi as a starter both didnt take long at all and was served nice and warm .The hospitality and the waitress was lovely it reminded me of my visit in Mykonos when i went with my family. Best Greek food I’ve had in yorkshire!!!!

Best greek food🤗 reminds me of home. Best gyros I have tasted in the UK. The atmosphere great with the Greek music,staff very friendly cant do enough for you. Also very generous portions. Definitely greek portions🤣👌 100% recommend a trip here to everyone

So much more than a take away! Upstairs is a nicely laid out, authentic Mediterranean restaurant with a wide choice of dishes. Portions are generous and great value, but best of all, is the friendly service and ambience.

Lovely Greek restaurant in Shipley. From the street it looks like a takeaway kebab joint, but upstairs dining room is beautiful: double height, exposed trusses etc. Excellent food, nice staff, reasonable prices. We’ll be back soon.

Not the best Greek I've been to, but far from the worst. A welcome addition to Shipley. The sausage is amazing.

Lovely clean restaurant with very pleasant staff and a meal that was delicious. Plus a 20% discount given for eating in! We will be making it a regular visit!!

To begin the staff were quite rude but pushing past that we sat down and was immediately met with a slow service and mediocre scenery. As we ordered and the food finally arrived, not only was it subpar and a waste of money but we also found a strand of hair in not one but two of our dishes, this was poorly handled and we believe a problem is all round management. Overall, not an enjoyable experience and we will NOT be coming back here again.

Stopped by for a late tea on way home one night. Ordered 2x traditional pork gyros. It was cooked to order and still hot when we arrived home after 15 mins drive. They were absolutely delicious! Lovely soft pitta, really tasty pork, salad, tzatziki and chips. Really big portions with plenty of meat and good value at £6.50. Probably the best gyros I've had in this country and would be more than happy to be served this in Greece. Would like to return to try out the restaurant.
