Perfect fish and chips. Finally a chip shop with brown, cooked chips.

Just got a fishcake butty from here, not something I get often. After a couple of bites i hadn't tasted fish so opened the potato slices to check there was some. To my amazement there was (and this isn't an exaggeration) about half the inner content of a fish finger right at the edge. I politely returned to show them and ask if this was a usual portion to which all 3 members of staff agreed it was. Absolutely shocking behaviour.

Great fish butty, will definitely be back. Cooked in beef dripping for anyone who wishes to know.

Awful service at drakes tonight never ever been like this before. Two young kids working inside absolutely clueless. Bought fish and chips, portion size was tiny. Fish was soggy crisp thin. Chips were hard been cooked for hours. Will never be returning again this place used to be my 'go to' fish n chip also very very disappointed!!!

Called in with My wife and my 2 children don't have fish and chips that often they don't agree with me , that said I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for my boy , chips the wife and a fish buttie for myself all the food was really nice the fish was spot on chips actually had taste and my small one ate all his food , not often you get such good food

It's easy to see why traditional chippies are dying if establishments like this one think their offerings are acceptable. Called in mid afternoon for a late lunch. Was greeted by shabby signage in the car park to the rear, and that theme continued when I stepped inside. Staff not in any kind of uniform, strewn in jewellery, and without head coverings or hair nets. Whilst the girl that served me was actually quite pleasant, that's where the pleasantries end. Archaic menu with no choice of portion size, hot boxes full of stale items presumably from lunch time, which they were all too happy to sell at full price. Over £8 for sausage, chips, curry and a drink isn't unreasonable these days...providing its of a decent quality; sadly this wasn't. The sausage was shrivelled and dry, the chips were at least OK but nothing to write home about. Sadly, unless the tired, tatty shop is improved along with the quality of food is improved, I wouldn't go back.

After driving round aimlessly trying to find a decent halal fish and chips, we decided to try Drakes for the 1st time. 2 fish and chips with gravy. Portion size was generous. Fish and chips cooked to perfection. Really tasty. Gravy good portion. Not too thick or too runny. Customer service was brilliant, 2 lads really attentive, all food cooked in halal beef dripping and all food halal. Good to know. Definitely recommend and will deffo be back.

I work for a Lady that lives just over the Road from this Chippy, and I always look forward to working for her, mainly just so I can nip over the Road and get a fish butty from Drakes at lunchtime ! One of my favourite all time Chippys is Drakes; the staff are great, the fish and breadcakes are great….and the chips, wow, they are to die for. I hate underdone super-clean chips, they are just not proper Chippy chips in my opinion when they are done like that - Drakes are like old school fish and chips, where the chips are well done and not dry at all. I absolutely love this Chippy, when I was in today, a guy and his wife were eating in, and as they were leaving he said to the lady that worked there “they were the best fish and chips we have had in ages…” I couldn’t agree more, mega impressed ❤️

The chips were very dry like they had been reheated the fishcake was black at the bottom had to scrape the batter off the fish fell to bits when I picked it up only decent food was the mushy peas won't be buying again

Absolutely appalling service. Never even got any food as had to walk out due to incompetent childish staff and the rudeness and threatening behaviour of the fryer. If the food is as bad as the service then it'll be disgusting. Would not recommend and will never return. Went to Websters instead and no complaints there...

The best fish and chips I've ever had always made fresh the customer service is top rated. Work at a care home near by and heard about drake's from there and it always goes down as a treat absolutely love the food. Worth the price best one in Shipley.

Used to look forward to visiting Drakes and really enjoyed the food especially the fish.After moving away we visited Drakes recently and was very surprised and disappointed with the size and quality of the Fish (less than half the size).Whether it has changed hands or not we will NOT be returning to our once favourite shop for food.

Had to wait a few minutes for a fish to be made but it was worth the wait,I got a good portion of fish n chips and enjoyed them!

Every time I have had fish and chips it's always beeb fantastic will highly recommend this place
