What a beautiful hotel. We got a last min deal for bed & breakfast for a quick getaway. The staff are friendly, the hotel is very well maintained, our room was satisfactory and breakfast was really tasty...lots of variety. The pool was great, we got two swims in on our overnight break. Again, well maintained, clean and bright. We will definitely be looking out for another deal to visit again.

I chose this hotel as we were visiting student daughter in Leeds university, and neither we nor she fancied staying in her student house. So we dropped teen son there in favour of the comfort of this hotel. We made use of the pool, gym, jacuzzi, steam room and breakfast. It was good value for money all in all. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The staff we're really friendly and helpful. Especially when teen son fell out with sister and ended up having to stay here last minute!!! Big thanks to Emily on reception who sorted us with a pull out bed at the last minute. Very kind.

When you arrive it looks very posh on the outside, and reception looks very tidy and new looking. The rooms itself are a little disappointing, the toilet didn't flush properly every time it was used and the sink filled with water even without the plug in it, if you are tall the shower isn't big enough for you to fit in (I'm 6 ft 3 so not huge). Even with using the shower curtain water still managed to soak the floor which was then very slippery. The bed was very uncomfortable and so much so that my partner had to speak to reception at 2am on the second night of 3 we stayed to ask if there was anything that could be done, which to be fair they did add a topper which made it more manageable. Breakfast was very good though and a good choice of buffet. Overall a reasonable stay but probably should be a little cheaper for the rooms.

Stayed on the one night package, which included the use of swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi and a 3 course evening dinner and breakfast. Set in an idyllic location. The room had a table and 2 chairs next to the bed so you couldn't actually get in bed on one side unless you manoeuvred furniture. They also only give you 1 pillow, and the mattress was very uncomfortable. The spa area was lovely and kept clean. The evening meal was just lovely. Presented well and tasted delicious. The red wine was served to us cold though! This was served in the only restaurant they have, which is Grill on the Hill. which is also the bar. Not a dressy up restaurant.quite disappointing for a country club. Breakfast was not great. No vegetarian alternative on the hot buffet. Limited choices. Plates, cups, and cutlery were dirty. Had to sift through to find clean items.

Beautiful location and golf course. The golf course is difficult especially the greens. Fast and hard to read, although everything heads towards the valley! The greens could have been in better condition. Had our tee off times put back an hour and the buggies hadn't been booked for some reason. Managed to get them, which was much needed. The rooms were ok, good size bed but not very comfy. Good size pool and gym. Staff friendly.

A good hotel set in lovely grounds. Very peaceful. The hotel itself is of a good standard, although a little tired and has seen better days. Breakfast was very good, and meal in the small bar was adequate. The staff were fairly young, and were pleasant enough, although service was a little chaotic. Not sure we'd return, but it was more than acceptable and good value for money.

Love this hotel. Room was very clean and easy check in. Had a 3 course meal which was amazing. Used the facilities in the spa wasn't busy. Had breakfast which was amazing as always with everything you could want. Then had a lovely massage.

The accommodation is lovely and the food is good. We had an issue with noisey neighbours having a party at 2.40am and the staff were so quick to ask them to be quiet etc. We also had to leave 2 days early due to illness, they were so understanding and great about giving us a refund. We will definitely stay there again and recommend to family and friends visiting Yorkshire.

The hotel room is fine although the bar and restaurant is quite pricey (not unusually so for a hotel). My issue is the poor level of service and the fact that rooms arenā€™t cleaned/serviced *unless* you ask for them to be. Nothing mentioned about this at check in or when booking, and with a large group of three families staying for a weekend away, we all came back to the same problem. Very poor, and an indifferent attitude from reception which compounded the problem.

This hotel is a lovely welcoming place with so many facilities e.g gym, spa, swimming pool, golf course to name a few. I have booked this place twice now and the rooms are so spacious with tea coffee facilities fans for when it's hot, trouser press along with iron and ironing board and toiletries. There is a big car park and the veiws are amazing.

Hotel was nice & really spacious. Rooms are good with all stuff working as it should be especially after repeatedly disgusting rooms in Leeds, this was a nice experience. Food in Grill on the hill restaurant was...well Hungry horse quality. Service in restaurant was......... Breakfast food & service was nice. Didnt use any other facility since i was on work tour. Over all nice place for stay but go out to eat !

Great location with good parking. The facilities are very good. Comfortable beds but can be noisy, but thatā€™s more to do with the guests than the hotelā€¦Restaurant was nice, with friendly staff, but the menu can be a bit basic. Overall a great experience and would stay again.

Nice place overall. I haven't tried the leisure centre, but my room was big and with a decent size bed. However the room wasn't perfectly clean and I saw a couple of hairs from the previous guests in the bathroom, so I wasn't pleased to see that. The bar is quite nice but they get advantage of the isolated location and the food is well overpriced - ceaser salad - Ā£13.50, which doesn't include chicken, if you want that - another Ā£5.50...

Many years since I last visited Hollins Hall, and it was a pleasure to return with friends for two days of golf. The hotel stands in a picturesque setting. The golf course was in good condition with very tricky greens. Well worth a visit and competively priced.

Stayed here for a wedding so paid a discounted rate and it's a good job. The wedding itself was very nice and well organised, but I would not recommend staying here if you don't have to. The building and surroundings are nice but the room was dirty and it was impossible to find clean crockery at breakfast. Even the plates at the wedding breakfast were dirty. If I'd paid the normal room rate I would have been livid.

Easy to find traffic lights for turning and sign posted. Car park is sloped so is a bit cumbersome for suitcases on wheels, old people and wheelchairs. Beautiful building and entrance, turn right and grab a beer before check-in. The staff are happy and helpful, check-in is easy. Lifts to rooms clean and bright. Room has double beds again decoration is dated or olde worlde. Good TV, lighting and window opening. Feels warm not noisy. Bathroom again has pesky shower curtain and bath. Bed is a bed enough pillows for me but some say you need two types. Only issue is plug socket for mobile phones and tablets are not near some beds. Restaurant is great awesome seating good views. Chairs and tables are for smaller slimmer people. Good choice of drinks. Food selection is ok. Portion size is good check photos.again staff friendly and helpful. Didn't get to use swimming pool or gym as I didn't wake up in time.

I had my 50th Birthday Party here last Saturday. What a superb venue. Family and friends stayed with us at the Hotel and it was such a fantastic experience. The Grill on the Hill was great for evening meals and coffee. The breakfast room is gorgeous, really open and light and the food was lovely. The service generally in the Hotel was brilliant. Such friendly, engaging and helpful staff. At the party itself, you hardly noticed the staff as they were so efficient. Everything was catered for and the event ran so smoothly. The Christmas decorations were all up and the Hawksworth Suite looked magical. Couldn't have asked for a better venue for a special celebration. Thank you to everyone from the Hotel who made it so wonderful. Our bedroom was upgraded to a suite too which was so luxurious. Loved it all!

Dated Hotel. Pleasant bar area with pub food menu for spa day. Spa its self is very basic, sauna and steam room. Swimming pool with 4 sun lounges. Pool area is in need of renovation. Not a relaxing spa experience if you want to lounge around and relax reading a book, its more of a swim and sauna experience. There is no relaxation room.

Visited here to attend the evening wedding reception of a work colleague. Lovely venue in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately we didn't stay too long as we had to travel a distance so am unable to comment on much but did feel that the bar prices were a little excessive

Absolutely lovely place, went for a spa day with my friend and we both loved it. The staff were lovely and the facilities are kept clean, the only issue is the smell in the steam room. It's a very strong smell, which is quite like a dirty fishtank. It would be massively improved if they could make this a menthol steam room to avoid any unappealing odours but other than that it was lovely

Not sure what to expect when we booked the hotel as we last stayed when it was a Marriott and it was really good. Upon arrival little has changed and this is a great hotel. Good rooms (although looking a little tired in places) in a good location, with some brilliant staff. Good food and drink and well maintained grounds. Definitely staying again.

The service lets down Hollins Hall Hotel as usual. The rooms are a good size and beds very comfortable. But there was a live woodworm crawling around bathroom floor upon arrival which was still there after housekeeping had been in the following morning. No foot towel for the floor when getting out of shower. One of the bath sheets was badly marked with several black streaks. I did not bother with adding breakfast to my bill as it is grossly overpriced - brought my own croissants. Did not bother eating in the evening as service was very slow last time and food not up to par. Went to another hotel across the moor. The parking is good and location for family living in area and that's about it.

Staff are welcoming. We booked a standard room with a queen sized bed but when we got to our room we had a family room with 2 double beds. Not really an issue so we didn't say anything. The bar is expensive but has a nice friendly atmosphere. Will definitely stay again!

Not great at all. We booked the ā€˜Room, diner and breakfastā€™ package and then upgraded our room to a suiteā€¦ we were celebrating. We arrived to our room at approximately 5pm (check in time is 4pm). The check in was pleasant. We got to our room to find all the windows opened and a very cold room so naturally we tried to put the heating onā€¦ Apparently, reception tells us, it comes on at 7pm automatically so were informed that we would be given a heater until then. I asked two as the suite was quite large. I tried to make a cup of coffee in the nice coffee machineā€¦ not working so instant coffee it is. We went off for a swim and upon our return, there was 1 radiator (not 2) left for us and they didnā€™t have the sense to plug it in and warm the room, so we got dressed for our evening meal in the cold. The restaurant was averageā€¦ steak very chewy and the wifeā€™s chicken was tough but the worst thing about the restaurant was the fliesā€¦ Good God, surly we arenā€™t the only ones to notice this? For those of you who like steak, this will cost you an extra Ā£5 on top of the meal youā€™ve already paid for. We went for dinner and came back around 9:30pm and the heating still wasnā€™t on but to be fair, the one heater they provided had the room at a good temperature. I feel that they knew the room didnā€™t have heating and that the radiator would suffice. Breakfast the next day was difficult to find a clean table (we went at 09:50 and breakfast was due to finish at 10:30). The breakfast was of a Travelodge standard (sorry Travelodge I mean absolutely no offence) but the FLIES!!! Same issues despite breakfast and dinner being on different floors in different parts of the hotel. Most of the cutlery need a wipe of the dishwasher water that remained, mopped up. Very disappointing.

Great team at the Hollins. The bar staff are brilliant! Pizzas are super tasty and the cheese board is perfect to sneak back to your room for a snack later on! Thanks for the great service.

We got married at Hollins Hall in early August, and cannot recommend the venue enough. From our first consultation to the day itself, everything was managed so well, and we were so impressed. Tanya, the events coordinator, is wonderful - and was so helpful and organised in the lead up to the big day, and ensured the day itself ran completely to plan. Planning a wedding can be daunting at times, but Tanya put us completely at ease - we could rest assured that everything was in hand - and handled brilliantly. The rest of the staff were also so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make the day as special as possible - from a tray of breakfast brought up to the room in the morning, to a golf buggy ride to the nearby viaduct for photos as the sun was setting. We had the best wedding day - thank you to the whole team!

We arrived in the afternoon. The receptionist was professional and polite. Took the lift up to the second floor to our standard room (2 double beds). The room was very clean. The swimming pool was lovely but there were swimming lessons on (just a small group of children). The jacuzzi and steam room, sauna was good. The restaurant was excellent. We ordered pizza and it was delicious! We didn't have breakfast the next day as left fairly early after a good night's sleep. Needed to leave the window open overnight as it did get a bit too warm in the room. Overall, a fantastic stay!

New Year break for 4 nights with the kids. Dinner bed and breakfast package was very good value for money. Rooms were clean and staff very friendly. Leisure facilities were good and the pool wasn't too busy if you got there at the right time. Overall couldn't fault the stay and would come here again! šŸ‘šŸ˜Š

Wasn't what I expected went as a guest and found that the gym equipment was old in comparison to other spa gyms they was towels left on golf carts looked very untidy bottle of empty cider left on the table I was in for over hour and was closing as I left. Also locker need full refurbishment as doors coming of the hinges when got told how much the membership was I was shock that anyone would pay that much.. saving grace the pool and jacuzzi was good

Well where do I start on arrival met by someone whom doesnā€™t maybe understand people with alittle autism. So that didnā€™t get off to the best of starts. Once in our room we did notice how cold the room was which as the day and night got on it got colder. So had to go and request a heater and blankets (which was only one when requested two one for each bed). We were told the hearing comes on between 6-7pm which it didnā€™t. So we went to Grill bar greeted by a lovely polite male, ordered and had a drink which was lovely on the balcony in the sunshine. So back to the very cold room, my daughter climbed into bed wrapped up. So we went for a swim and sauna which was lovely, and got warm, regrettably my daughter immediately started to feel ill. So back to the room where we struggled to stay warm. The food was lovely at the evening with brilliant staff in the Grill bar being friendly and professional. They accommodated us by putting the heating on which I left good tips for helping us. I totally understand some people donā€™t follow rules with the dogs, however itā€™s very hard to place poo bags in bins that are totally full to the brim, rubbish on the ground next to the bin is not the best is it! Also wish to give a special mention to the two cleaning ladies Rosine and Debs I think they were called were kind and caring today. Again the lady on the front desk very frosty unless your a male where she turns into a different person.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel and will definitely stay there next time I visit Leeds. There is plenty of parking for guests. The setting of the hotel is lovely, surrounded by green hills and trees. A wonderfully quiet area. The rooms are comfortable and fairly spacious. Some aspects are a little dated, but are still functional. The shower in the room I stayed in was not great, but nothing that a new shower hose wouldn't fix. I was a little disappointed in the cleaning of the room; a previous guest had obviously spilt something sticky over the chest of drawers and TV which hadn't been cleaned up properly. The beds are comfy, but unfortunately I did not sleep as well as I hoped, mostly due to noise from other guests. The leisure centre is free for residents to use and includes a lovely swimming pool that is much larger than most hotel pools that you get in the UK. The sauna and steam room were okay, but far from the best that I've used (the sauna was not hot enough and the steam room had a bit of a musty smell). The jacuzzi was out of action for the whole of my stay, so I cannot comment on how good it is. Breakfast was a buffet, which made it easy to have a quick breakfast if you needed to. Hot and cold food was available every day. The hot food was good (bacon, fried eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, sausages, baked beans, etc). A selection of baked goods and bread were also available together with fruit salad and yoghurts. Sadly the fruit salad was disappointing and didn't taste very fresh on either of the two days I tried it. A selection of hot and cold drinks were also available including various coffees / teas, orange juice, apple juice, milk and water. Staff were friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a comfortable, friendly hotel in a quiet rural area with a swimming pool, then I would definitely recommend this one.

Overall, a nice experience. Check-in/out process was efficient and staff were helpful in providing information The rooms itself had everything that i would expect and need. The only let down was the cleanliness of the bath. An issue with how water gathered when using the shower will have contributed to this, nevertheless, a better standard is expected The breakfast experience was decent. Standard food options but again cleanliness of the tables and dining area needed improvement. Swimming pool and steam room were fab

Beautiful hotel, leisure facilities lovely. reception staff. Honestly was great. One niggle was breakfast. Our room number checked, told find yourself a table. No instructions on how it operates. No yes or coffee served to table. Also a skinny staff member finished dressing himself in the dining room. He was late, breakfast room staff needed to be a bit smarter in their appearance, let the hotel down.

The pool, sauna and steam room were all fantastic. Donā€™t forget to ask for towels when signing in, sometimes you get offered a towel but most time you must remember to ask. Water not hot enough for me on multiple occasions. It was fixed each time I reported it. It was perfectly fine for my wife and probably most people, I just like a really hot shower. Rooms not refreshed for the entirety of our visit. When I asked what to do about the overflowing bin I was advised I could empty it and bring it down myself. I thought I was on holiday but apparently not. No ā€œdo not disturbā€ signs for the door.

The outside of this hotel is absolutely stunning, and so is the setting. The interiors could do with a little freshening up, the carpets seem a bit run down here and there, and so are the bathrooms in the rooms - our toilet sit was broken and kept sliding around. The swimming pool is a 25mt length, very well kept - as it seems to be open to outside customers too. There is a sauna and a steam room too, and a spa. The reception staff - in particular the lovely lady from Poland - was beyond helpful with the most crazy requested we had for them. Food at breakfast was ok, nothing spectacularly amazing or wrong, and there is a bar that was open quite late in the evening, for us to enjoy a drink or two before heading to bed.

Went to a funeral here. The room was excellent. The food was spot on and bar was open and they supplied coffee's and Teas. The place itself is well looked after. Would highly recommend for weddings parties or wakes

We stayed for two nights. Checking in was quite slow and once arriving in the room, we could tell the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, especially around the toilet area and sink. Also we were only given one pillow each for the room. Usually they have spares in the wardrobes. Also the walls are paper thin. We were next to some pretty inconsiderate people, not the hotels fault, but you can hear the taps running next door, never mind people talking at the tops of their voices walking down the corridor. Overall its needs a major refurbishment, as people would rather stay in Premier inns. At least you know you have a comfortable bed and clean room. Can't comment on the food, but the hotel itself is in lovely grounds and looks stunning from the road.

Stayed on a works course and everything was paid for but due to lack of communication between staff, it was embarrassing to watch them trying to sort it out. The staff were young, rude, inexperienced and couldn't be bothered. The hotel is dated and had a problem with flies. Flies were landing on meat at the morning buffet, the drinks machine was broken. Flies in the dining area at night.Hardly any staff around to help in the morning. The room was dated with various faults and deteriorated furniture. The bed was comfortable but had holed bedding. I wouldn't pay to stay here again. Food was nice but needs updating and staff trying with manners. Only staff member who was nice and went out of way to help was a lady called Pam with tattoos. Well done Pam. But wouldn't stay again. I'll stick with Premier Inn. šŸ‘ŽšŸ‘Ž

Lovely hotel, rooms were large and with two double beds in the room it was a delight. Breakfast was fantastic and the main meals were amazing with large portions and great food. Drinks were a bit pricey but not more than other hotels. Spa was great and pool was clean and well maintained. We have already re booked.

Great venue and very helpful staff. It's quite a climb to the first tee, but a lift is available. Clubhouse and Hotel are very nice and the catering was excellent. Lovely views on the golf course, and very challenging greens, a good test of golf. Really enjoyed the 2 day break with friends.

Beautiful setting and surroundings. Unfortunately the rooms are in need of an update, as is whole building. Waited over an hour after ordering to be served an evening meal which was mediocre at best. Several of the 'hot' breakfast items were clay cold and it was only mid service by then. Looks a lot better than it actually is!

As a dog owner, I really would recommend this hotel, as a place to stay, not only for other dog owners, but to anyone who wishes to have very good gym, pool and spa facilities. being surrounded by it's own golf course, gives all dog owners, marvellous walks and the rooms given, to those with dogs, have easy access, out of the building, without having to go through the main hotel. Excellent breakfast as well. My suggestion, is that the rooms do need a bit of an update.

Booked here for a relaxing spa experience but didn't get that impression at all! The room was ok, was kept up most of the night with alot of noise, guest what sounded like they were arguing and a lot of door banging, the swimming pool area had swimming lessons on but no information was given nor was o made aware, felt quite uncomfortable to use the spa facilities were a load of parents and young kids stood/sitting around and clearly it wasn't quiet either, however the restaurant and bar was nice and the food was good! But I don't think I'll be visiting again though.

Very dissapointed. I sent the following email on the 1st January and telephoned on 8th January, and to date (almost 6 weeks later) I have still not had a response or even acknowledgement from the General Manager. Dear Mr Limousin, Myself, wife and daughter stayed at Hollins Hall Hotel on the 31 December 2022. We were dismayed by the lack of service available during our stay. When we booked in, we were advised that the buffet meal was available from 18:00 Hours. However, after checking in, and just getting into our room, I received a phone call, advising that the buffet was not starting until 19:00 Hours. When we went down for the buffet at 19:00 Hours, we were advised that there was a 10 minute delay whilst the chefs prepared the vegetables for the buffet. At approximately 19:10 Hours we managed to access the buffet, only to find out that the chefs had forgot to put out the potatoes. Both my wife and I asked if there were any potatoes to go with the meal, at which point the chef went into the kitchen to bring out some roast potatoes whilst my wife and I stood around waiting for a few minutes, therefore adding a further delay. We were advised that there was a shortage of staff, and only 3 chefs had been on, catering both the buffet, Grill on the Hill bar, and the wedding that was taking place. This therefore had an impact on other paying guests including ourselves. The only other choice on the buffet was seafood, which was not suitable for our daughter. I feel that the meal provided was not adequate, and that this had not been made known at the time of booking the hotel for the evening. Had we known this, we would have bought our daughter a meal from the Grill on the Hill bar. Due to the aforementioned delay by an hour for the buffet, we purchased snacks from the Grill on the Hill bar, and it was only after we finished these, that we found the Scampi Fries to be out of date. Please see attached picture. We were not made aware that these had past the best before date. Also, it took about five minutes before someone came to the bar to serve me these out of date products. Lastly, I found the overall service and the cleanliness of some ares of the hotel poor, for the price we paid for a family room of Ā£312.50. We stayed at this hotel on the 31st December 2021 and paid Ā£185 for a Superior Double Room and found the meal and service outstanding, that is why we chose to stay at the hotel again on the 31st December 2022. However I donā€™t think I will be booking this hotel again for the 31 December 2023. I look forward to your reply.
