After a tough season of major change in leadership and culture, and the founding pastors resigning and going back to Australia a few years ago, C3 Hope has regenerated into an authentic Christian community, with a great expression of sound Biblical faith. An incredibly diverse congregation meets in person each week and regular Alpha Courses are great for people who are curious about God and who Jesus Christ actually is.

Used to attend Hope City when i was younger with my family for several years unfortunately due to the distance we lived away from Sheffield we decided to stop attending. I had tried to attend a few other churches around my area and none made me feel like i belonged or made me feel safe. 10 months ago i decided to come back to Hope City Sheffield without any family with me, it was the greatest decision i have ever made! As soon as i entered the building i was welcomed by all the teams and felt like i was home again! Thanks to Hope City Sheffield i am now on the photography team and i am looking for a career as a photographer which is surprising as i had never used a proper camera before attending Hope City Sheffield. Thanks to this church I now have so many amazing people in my life that are all really good friends and care about me so much. Definitely recommend Hope City Church!!

I wasn’t looking for a church when I found myself walking through the doors of Hope City Church and loved it! Great welcome, the people were genuinely happy to see me and the whole experience was truly positive and heartfelt. I’ve been attending four years now, found my faith and formed wonderful friendships. It has transform my life and I would most certainly recommend!

When I first came to the UK for my studies, I remember trying to look for a suitable church, thank God I found Hope City Sunderland, I made new friends that now are like family to me, they showed me amazing care and love, I will always be grateful to the leaders who consistently gave me guidance. There’s always a great sense of family and realness that I haven’t experienced anywhere else. All I can say is God is truly in this place and it’s helped me feel so at home.

So pleased I get to call Hope City my home. After struggling to find a church or people I could connect with when coming into uni, I eventually found this church and it’s totaly transformed my life. It’s provided the greatest friends, people around me have supported me through difficult times and have celebrated me in the best times; it’s inspired and encouraged my faith to grow and develop greater than I ever realised it could; it has opened up opportunities and given me experiences I would never dream of. The worship is literally awesome, the preaching so practical and inspiring, and people so welcoming. It’s just the best place. Give Hope City a visit!!

Despite claiming to have changed since Dave and Jen left, this 'church' has attached themselves even more firmly to the C3 network which has been surrounded by a number of controversies in Australia (See current affair news reports). They still teach the prosperity gospel and coerce people to give money to them. Dave and Jen Gilpin were not the sole problem there and there were a number of abusive lieutenants and pastors who are still there now. As far as I am aware, of the hundreds and hundreds of people damaged by this cult, nobody has ever received any individual apology for the abuse and grooming they suffered under them and City Hearts. They may have changed (or claim to have changed) But the whole culture of the place is so entangled in coercion and exploitation I highly highly doubt this place is healthy. EDIT: I like the way you pointed out the number of reviews I left, subtly implying that I was the issue for not letting go. The reason I have left so many reviews is because lots of the others are too scared to speak out and people need to be warned about C3. I still get calls and messages from people who have had their lives ruined by your church. I would happily talk to you if I felt it would bare much fruit, but it won't as you don't seem to see any issue with being part of the C3 movement. It's an insult to all those people who have been damaged by this 'church' that you clung on to C3 during all the recent controversies.

All I can say is the reply to Richard T's post is too little too late. Meanwhile there are lots of emotionally, mentally and spiritually scarred people who have been driven from Christianity by the toxic and abusive environment that is Hype, I mean Hope City Church. The whole thing should be shut down.

What a warm and loving welcome this morning. Great to worship God here and soak in his word. The elevator music played CONTINUALLY while people were on stage speaking before the preach was so irritating for me, not everyone has perfect hearing, it made it difficult to hear the announcements being shared by the speakers… Beautiful Church family though and really deserves 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing place, good for expandable people however when it comes to getting connected it is quite hard. There are three this a youth can do which is creative on a Thursday which involves the ability to become better at the instrument you play or teach others. There are two one for you and the other for main church. The next is youth on a Friday age 11-18 and this is basically loud music exited people and lots of flashy lights..

Love this church! My husband and I moved to Sheffield from Australia over a year ago now for work. We had no family and barely knew anyone- but from the first time we stepped through Hope City Sheffield's doors we knew we had found our new family. An amazing church full of life, celebration, sound teaching, great worship and inherently reflects a family culture. If you are looking for a church, I highly recommend Hope City Church Sheffield (and other locations across the globe).

For 13 years hope city church has been our family’s church The sense of family and belonging has been amazing. We meet with God every week, and are challenged in our faith. Love the way new people are welcomed in to the family. Would recommend this church to anyone looking to put down roots and find Destiny

When I first came to this church, it messed with all my preconceptions of what Christianity was, and what my life could be for the better. In attending this Church for the last fourteen years, my thinking has been expanded and my world has totally changed. I feel encouraged to live the best life possible and I really value the freedom I’m given to be myself. In absorbing that, I feel compelled to help others feel the same love and acceptance. Just like any church, you get as much out of it as you’re willing to put in. This is the most welcoming place I’ve ever been to. Sundays feel like family time - albeit quite a lot louder and brighter than my usual family get-together.

So glad I can call this church my home. Have loved inviting friends to visit over the years all of whom have loved the experience; in addition, I am grateful for how my faith has been challenged in every area. A great place to settle in to regardless of what stage in life you are at. The community are some of the kindest you will meet and the integrity of the leadership is exemplary.

Part of this incredible church for four years which above all else honours God and people so well. Proud to be of a church with such a strong missional output. The teaching and leadership over me has made my faith and relationship with God so much stronger all whilst having heaps of fun in such a great, friendly atmosphere!
