My
interest
in
The
Ainsbury
was
peeked
in
reading
about
a
recent
award
online.
Bank
Holiday
Friday
I
travelled
up
from
Worcestershire
to
check
it
out.
What
a
lovely
welcome
on
a
lovely
sunny
afternoon
in
this
quiet
semi-rural
district
of
Bradford,
Thackley.
The
proprietors
and
keepers,
Mr
&
Mrs
Higgins
have
magic'd
their
quirky
vision
of
genuine
hospitality.
I
say
magic
because
the
one-up,
one-down
is
perfectly
formed
as
a
neighbourhood
pub;
to
never
feel
empty,
and
one
would
have
to
be
bloody
ignorant
to
reject
friendly
inclusions
from
other
punters.
I
noticed
spirits
are
quality
(Tanqueray
gins
rather
than
flash
unnecessarily
expensive
Grey
Goose
vodkas
etc.),
but
foremost
this
is
a
real
ale
pub.
If
this
was
down
in
Shoreditch
it
would
have
"Artisan"
in
the
genre
title
and
one
of
a
chain
-
which
would
then
exclude
the
broad
mix
of
ages
who
evidently
feel
very
at
home.
