Excellent facility. Parked here when we stayed overnight in York. There were plenty of parking spaces, the ones on 1st level were a bit small due to inconsiderate drivers, but we got a good spot on 2nd level. Paying at the machine was straightforward (with a 20% discount from the hotel). There was staff on site next to the payment machines so assistance was there if needed.

Good car park. Decent prices. Uses credit card upon entry and it is your ticket to get back into car park and leave as well. Complimentary shoe shiner. Very clean and tidy and no weird smells. Open 24 hours. Will use probably every time I come to York now.

Do not pre-book parking with Q-Park as in the small print this does not reserve a parking space. I was unaware of this and knowing York would be busy at this time of year I advanced paid Β£28 for 11am to 11pm. This was expensive but I felt it was worth it for what I believed to be trouble free parking. We arrived about 12 noon to find the entrance road blocked by a man with a sign saying car park full. I told him we had pre-booked and he informed us that it did not reserve a parking space and there was a queue of over 10 cars waiting for spaces to become available. We parked at an NCP car park for Β£6.95 for 12 hours and as I feel misled will not be using Q-Park for any future parking

Great, I booked on time Internet, reserved my space. Easy to use. The barrier lifts as the cameras read your reg plate if you pre book, so no messing, same for leaving the place. Always spaces. Some of the spaces are a bit tight, so if you have a wheelchair or pram, then it is ideal to get it out before going into the slot if you reverse in. It's pretty expensive compared to parking in the East Riding, but it's worth it for the odd day in York.

Very clean car park with helpful staff. Probably the cleanest car park I've ever seen in the UK! Only problem is that there isn't enough space between the rows of bays to get a large car in or out of a bay. Maybe modern cars are too big!

Bays far too tight for our comfort. We have a small saloon that is black and well looked after. It did worry us that the bays were that small someone would ding their door into ours. We had to park inches from the wall to leave our car overnight hoping the car next to us would be careful. Other than that a very well lit, clean and secure car park. We got a 20% discount with staying at the Hilton. Reasonable price for 24hrs Β£16. It would make us think twice about parking here again with the size of the bays.

Whilst the car park was very secure and felt safe, we would not use the pre booking service again. Having made an error on the leaving time, we had no facility to amend the booking and due to the confirmation email arriving too late we were unable to cancel and re book. Despite already paying the max charge of Β£20 we ended up paying an extra Β£5.40 to leave the car park. This was after trying to speak to the attendant and customer services before parking. Really poor service and very overpriced. Would advise using a different car park.

The car park was very clean and secure. However I had pre booked an my details did not register. I spoke to the attendant and he couldn't have been more helpful. I would just like to say thank you Ross for sorting the issue

This is by far the most beautifull carpark in York! Park your car, look out the carpark windows or walk around it, you will see what I mean. Very nice staff, safe and clean. Didn't think parking could be that enjoying.

Good car park, very handy for York City centre, but very expensive even for short visits. Usually busy though we did get in easily for an evening concert. Well lit and no problems with lifts.

Expensive but the car park is secure and it kept our car safe, which is the main thing. Loads of spaces when we went. To get in to the car park on foot you need to use your ticket, which adds a little more security.

I visited Q-Park Friday 3rd November where unfortunately my car broke down. Given this was a very stressful situation there were two parking attendants Bart and Alex who were extremely supportive and helpful. I had to keep my car overnight due to a very poor breakdown service. More importantly I was able to do so free of charge. Thank you both again, I am very grateful you were both so kind.

Decent car park with good security. Only downside is that to open the gate you need the QR code from the app. When you hold the app up to the reader, the reader triggers your phone to try and pay with a contactless card and removes the QR code from screen. Thus the car park never opens and you have to call the attendant via the intercom.

Very clean and the space is located at a convenient location. The bays are wide enough, so you donot have to squeeze in and out of your UK standard sized family vehicle. I think the charges were reasonable, given where it is located. Also, the aisle are wide enough that you shouldn’t worry too much about curbing your alloys while going up and down the floors looking for a space to park.

Pre-booked, no hassle, reasonable price, great location. We stayed at the Hilton nearby and it was really convenient. If we were just visiting for the day, this would be a great location due to its proximity to the larger number of shops.

Generally the car park was clean, plenty signage etc. . . However Was advised to park there by the Moxy Hotel. Wish I hadn't bothered. . . Tried to pre-book online and was apparently sold out, despite there being loads of spaces available. So I had to pay more. The spaces are far too tight, unless you drive something super small. The parent spaces are not even worth the signage. They are the same as every other space and the only reason I can think that they exist is they are on the same floor as the lift? Maybe. Spoke to the Moxy about it and suggested they stop recommending Q Park as it'll make their business look bad in the long run.

Very expensive - Β£6 for just over an hours parking on a sunday. Very tight turning circles, even tighter parking bays - definitely not designed for modern vehicles. Paying machine was very slow and failed on our first attempt. The only good thing about it was its close location to Shambles.

v easy to prebook but only realised when we arrived at specified time that prebooking did not mean that you are able to park. when we arrived the car park was FULL and we were unable to park. we waited for over half an hour before able to enter car park. once in we found a space and parked up, only to then find that the signage to enable easy exit very difficult to follow. especially as we had our grandkids in a double buggy. We did find the lifts to get out but could hardly get the buggy into them. all in all a very very stressful experience. On exiting the car park all worked well and the bar code supplied with the prebooking worked as expected, freinds of ours did experience a slight difficulty but was very quickly sorted using the assitance button. So a 3 star rating REALLY CANNOT SEE POINT OF PREBOOKING IF NO SPACE IS RESERVED AS PAYMENT HAS BEEN TAKEN FOR THE SPACE so if future will just turn up at 1st car park with an available space

AVOID! 'PRE BOOK' means nothing! We 'pre booked' weeks in advance only to arrive and wait in an hour long queue! It's first come first serve so pre booking is useless as the carpark was full and is always full on arrival! This carpark and the 'pre booking' system is an absolute shambles! Sort it out and stop misleading customers who travel to this carpark with the miss conception of a parking space pre booked for them! Ruined the start of our trip!

In the centre of york so great location. Amount payable is over hours (arrive at 2pm leave next day at 2pm) rather than 24 hour parking shopping 12 midnight and restarted at 8am then payable by the hour on the new day. Clean. Attendant on call 24 hours and someone always on call on the barrier machine.

Very tight parking spaces and difficult to maneuver round the corners, feel it was built for smaller cars and due to some cars not parking between the lines , there are spaces you coudnt get an average car in or if you did, you wouldn't be able to open your door to get out πŸ™„

Pre-booked online, very easy to access, it's well lit with generous parking spaces. Clean and easy to navigate via lifts and stairs which don't smell!

Do NOT prebook as you're not reserving a space. Booked a slot from 12.15 and turned up on time simply to sit in a queue for 40 mins (paying for the privilege) before I got into the car park and then had to look for a space. Would have been cheaper to just turn up and pay. Total Joke.

Really enjoyed York lovely place to walk round the places we ate at were very competitive and the food was excellent the only thing that soured the day was I got a ticket for going down a bus lane which I was not aware of badly signed to get out of the city

what a con, pre paid, Β£25 still have to wait in a qui with people who don't pay upfront waited about 25 min to get in the carpark . prices online are more expensive then on the day and then charge extra. because I arrives slightly early. contract customer service. and get the following results.. Our online prices can vary from our prices on the day, if the online price isn't suitable you are welcome to park and pay on the day instead. In regards to the overstay, you entered 20 minutes earlier than your booking

Pre-booking does not reserve a space for you at this car park. Anyone can park at any time and if the carpark is full you have to wait until someone leaves. If it's busy like it was when I visited you may have to wait a very long time. This information isn't made clear on the booking page and is hidden in the fine print of the terms and conditions and on a FAQ page that no user would ever look at. Don't bother with pre-booking at all. The parking bays are too narrow - the only bays that were available when I eventually got in were next to walls and were so narrow that I couldn't open my door wide enough to get out of the drivers seat even with leaving no room to open the door on the passenger side. I then had to wait again for someone to leave from a different spot and had to use my coat to prevent my door from marking the next car over when I did get out. I was in a standard sedan so avoid if you drive anything bigger than a small hatchback.

This car park is perfectly placed for a trip to coppergate shopping centre, as is literally a few minutes walk away. I found it easy to find by satnav, and managed tonoay in advance for 24 hour over night parking, which the barriers automatically alerted to my car and let me in and out with ease. The parking spaces are a little tight, and as I have a land rover I did have to go up a few levels to find a space big enough to manoeuvre in. My car was safe and secure and each level has a manned booth. There are easily accessible elevators that go to each level, and the front doors are activated by a code you are sent when you pay for parking. This reduces the risk of unwanted people in the car park. Will be my go to car park for all ym York trips

This is a dangerous car park in my opinion and totally unsuitable for anything larger than a mid size car. Q-Park have clearly tried to squeeze in far too many spaces making it impossible to safely park larger cars. There's also a dangerous overhang that scraped the paintwork on my car. At Β£3.20 an hour at peak times it's very expensive too. Avoid.

  • 4/5 Graham C. 9 months ago on Google
Get there early and you will probably get a space. It's more expensive than most car parks in York, but, is secure with controlled entry and exit for both cars and pedestrians. Wouldn't recommend pre-booking as you are not guaranteed being able to park when you arrive. As with most "tourist area" car parks spaces can be quickly filled so you may not be able to get back in.

This car park was recommended by Hilton by Hampton ( or other way round) as the car parking for their hotel. The car park itself was ok a bit of a faff when they tell you to go to level 3 to pay when you are on the first level but safe place to leave your car. However it is a long way from the hotel!!

They overcharged me via just park app. Firstly is showed Β£8.60 to pay for 6h, when have chosen the car park I had to pay Β£22 which is whole day parking based on their board at the car park. And if I would pay on gate I would pay around Β£17 for hours I have parked. When we arrived the car park was full and had to wait nearly 30 mins in a queue of cars to get in! Won’t ever use again. Rip off and misleading

Ridiculously busy. Waited in line for 20 minutes behind 3 cars but the car park was full so the barriers were down. Gave up, left and went to park at the Morrisons nearby, used the YourParkingSpace app, and paid Β£5 for parking for 3.5 hours, after getting the first 2 hours free in Morrisons car park anyway. Parked from 2:30-4:30 for free, then bought parking from 4:30-8 on the app. Only a 15 minutes walk into the centre. No brainer, but if we don't want to drive, we will be taking the train next time. York desperately needs more parking for cheaper.
