Hell on Earth! The staff are indifferent at best, casually drifting around not being very busy at the same time making you wait hours on end. Nobody doing anything urgently but telling you they are very busy and waiting 8hrs is perfectly normal. dare to suggest more could be done and they attack, claimed only 1 Doctor working in entire hospital on a Saturday, if true gross incompetence. NHS is dead.

After seeing a very large crowd of young doctors and nurses on a picket line yesterday...I have to say how nausiatingly disguised I was when an old man Approximately in his 80s dressed in pyjamas fell over on the opposite side of the road....Not a single person rushed to his aid....These people are in the wrong job.! I would not hire any of these people and have zero respect for any of these young overpaid junior doctors that don't know what an honest weeks work is..They are Not over worked as they work under the working time directive too so don't be fooled by their stories ... The NHS as an institution has failed us all...my only regret is not having this incident on video...🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 This would have said it all..!!! Such a shame

Absolutely disgusted with the shameful treatment of my family after my father passed away last year. Belongings posted out went missing this included my father's wedding ring. I have had to constantly chase the contact at the hospital and she does not see fit to update me on the situation. So much for accountability and duty of candour which are both lacking at this Trust.

Absolutely pathetic. Went in on a Friday at 1pm for an MRI, waited 8 hours only to be told to come back the following Monday 9am as my case ‘wasn’t an emergency’. Came Monday 9am and was sat for hours on end only to be told the same thing that evening. Wasted 20 hours of my life just to have my blood pressure checked twice. I also had an 83 year old man sat with me waiting for 10 hours too. Useless and incompetent staff who don’t communicate with one another.

Ive been here quite a few times. Mainly as a little kid or for bloods and things like that. When I was about 5 or 6 I cracked my head open and I remember even though it took a while the nurses were so kind and entertained my while they put the glue on and were laughing with me so that made it a whole lot better. Then again that was about 7 or so years ago. Another time when I was in Year 4 so I would have been around 8-9 I broke my left wrist at school by a bad fall. I didnt think I had broken in because I have an extremely high pain tolerance but I was seeing stars so school took me inside and put a cold compress on (thanks CCUA and Ms Clift) but when it started to swell they called my parents and the took me to hospital. It was a two and a half hour wait and during that time the pain got way worse so they gave me some painkillers in the waiting room. When I finally got seen they gave me a splint and sent me on my way 🤣 I had to wear that for 3 weeks and I couldnt do any sports for 6 meaning I missed out on sports day, swimming when we went to the beach, swimming lessons and since then I haven’t played football. and I used to play every single day. any other time i’ve been in it was an appointment for drawing bloods or for samples and examinations because i have these things called petechiae which are essentially tiny blood vessels bursting but there were loads of them and it would happen sometimes and be really bad and the cause is still unknown. Like sometimes if i put cream on my legs especially the lower half it just makes them appear just from rubbing the cream in gently ( its not an allergy to the cream) thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks to the NHS staff who all work incredibly hard

Recently admitted for microlaryngoscopy & biopsy on ward L26 ….lovely staff…friendly but professional.. made me very comfortable and at ease as it was my first experience of General Anaesthesia. I have mental health diagnosis. From the nurses to the anaesthetist & the surgeon Mr Korampalli ..all helped to make my visit very positive. 😌

My husband was there in July and everyone from a&e to trauma were absolutely fantastic. He was upset when he had to move to a hospital in our postcode.

My mother was admitted to emergency due to a bad fall at home, the ambulance men was amazing with her and treated very good, the hospital staff at LGI are appalling, my mum is deaf and forever telling them to shout so she can hear you, was moved to another cubicle were I waited for 12 to 3 am in the morning, my bottom was aching from sitting for so long, but my mum was comfortable, they put a drip in her arm and it came out and her arm was bleeding and I got a tea towel to stop the bleeding my god bloody ridiculous, I understand that they have training to be nurses but there bloody useless, she’s now on a ward waiting for an operation to her spinal cord and the staff on the ward she’s on have made her comfortable and she’s sleeping a lot a hope she makes it home to enjoy Christmas

The nurses and doctors are friendly and nice. I always feel safe and comfortable in A&E, although will have to wait for about 2 hours(which is understandable due to the high volume). Yesterday is a pretty tough day for me and I was treated kindly in minor injuries. The young doctor who conducted an eye exam for me( don’t really know his name) is very nice, kind, and sweet. Thanks😇

First and foremost I have to thank the staff at this hospital for potentially saving my life 5 years ago, without them and their quick actions (from head scan to surgery in 2 days) I'm not sure where I'd be today. Since then I've had yearly checkups, and have had visits for other things including visits relating to my heart, a covid test, and others. My only unpleasant memory is going for a small operation on my heart, being laid naked on a table, and being left there for 10 minutes while the doctors talked about how they should do what they were going to do, and it wasn't until I said I was a little uncomfortable, that the female doctor asked for something to cover me up with while the operation wasn't in motion. It was very embarrassing and unnecessarily so, but I can mostly look past that with what they have done for me before and since.

Experience started off very uncomfortable… receptionist was absolutely horrible and extremely hostile. However, once checked into A&E, nurses and doctors were very friendly. Did wait just shy of 4 hours to be seen, however this was due to my case not being seen as an urgent priority (fair enough), and what more can we expect under a tory government underfunding the NHS. Overall, not bad :)

Nurse Emily is an amazing addition to Leeds Hospital. She took care of me when I needed it most and her level of care and sensitivity is second to none. She deserves a pay rise so listen NHS managers do not work her so hard!

Ring Samaritan's if u find urself having a mental health crisis on a monday. Not worth the journey there, no support or supervision was offered despite the urgency of my issues and risk of harm. Nurses were apathetic and there's no where to go if u dont want to be gawked at or feel like a bother. I understand mondays are busy for a+e but i wasnt able to sit in such an awful and uncomfortable place for the 8 hours they told me id have to. I had no confidence that id find the help i needed

Tended to my young child quickly and gave us a little room straight away due to his additional needs. Made him feel much more settled and relaxed than the noisy waiting room. The nurses and doctors were lovely. Not a bad word to say about them, the treatment we received or the aftercare.

The treatment I’ve received in Cardiology has been fantastic. From the initial diagnosis they were really thorough and helpful. My procedure was carried out by Dr Blaxill and his amazing team and although it became more complex than expected I was constantly reassured and made to feel as comfortable as possible at all times during what I found to be a very frightening time. The aftercare on ward L14 has been wonderful. The nursing, caring and catering staff are friendly, caring and have a great senses of humour - shout out to Michelle and Joy!. Nothing has been too much trouble for any of them and I’m so relieved that I’ve been able to have my op here. Despite all the cuts and low morale we hear about, you’d never believe it as a patient here. I’m so grateful for the care I’ve been given and the NHS should be so proud of this hospital. Thank you! X

I have called 111 at 12am they have told me to go emergency centre, Morning time half past 7. When I have arrived they took blood and it spilled everywhere. They haven't fixed my pain, and I'm still in pain. What was the point of going to emergency. For the reason I went there they haven't fixed it. i Still have the same problem. No emergency doctor has seen me and haven't gave any treatment.

I was walking along the corridor from Fracture Clinic to Clarendon entrance, using a stick as I have a broken hip. A nurse in uniform approached me. She was walking backwards, almost, and talking to three/four women who were walking abreast but slightly behind her. I had to pull in to the wall and wait till they passed, otherwise she would have collided with me. I called out, Watch where you are going! But she remained oblivious. What a rude, ignorant, unprofessional woman! If only I could have apprehended her, I would have reported her to senior management.

Thank you NHS Leeds General Infirmary. After 16 years I required some emergency care and stayed in hospital for two days due to few underlying health conditions. I’m absolutely thrilled with the level of care and support I received from each and every member of NHS staff starting from doctors to support workers. Well done lovely people ❤️ my heartiest best wishes for you all 👏👏

Worked here for many years in both cardiology and orthopaedics departments. Was recently an in patient with heart problems and I must admit they were brilliant but I suspect their aptitude on the ward far outweighs their handwriting in the office!!! To all the SHO's !!!

Terrible service. I come in at 10pm last night. And it's 6am now. No sign of doctors. Was told 5½hours when checked in reception last night. If I wasn't feeling so unwell wouldv never waited till this late. I need to speak to doctors for results so can have peace of mind and go home. This is absolutely disgusting people have been made to sit here. Atleast extra 3 hours and still counting.

I’m watching Breakfast TV,why can’t hospital challenge the government for more funding for healthcare and units? Taxpayers pay a lot to support health and social care. I worked in an FE colllege, education itself is hugely underfunded placing more work and hours on staff for no payrise. My grandfather died from MND over 40 years ago and just don’t feel there’s enough research treatment. I have drug resistant epilepsy have been on the same medication for 20 years. Now I’m being told it can cause brain atrophy since.Despite NHS knowing this since 2990’s it seems to me the NHS opt or feel forced to prescribe the cheapest drugs.Which in the long term is even more damaging to the patient. I have to go to another hospital. The general lack in progression in neurological conditions is depressing. I also have Spina Bifida and hydrocephalus. The government has to realise its not morally fair for you to have to ask taxpayers for donations, they have the money and should be giving the NHS far more funding. MND is a cruel condition.

On this occasion I have to give credit where it is due! 5pm book in at A and E I was expecting and epic nightmare. I was so wrong. Booked in, quick direction assessment, sent to an another area where I was dealt with immediately sent for x ray , came back bloods taken.Told there would be a wait for results so went for a coffee. Short time later told I would be sent to a specialist ward to be dealt with where I saw a doctor and kept well hydrated by staff and watched TV Given prescription and back home within 5 hrs. Amazing. During every stage from arriving to diagnosis every staff member excelled in communication, friendliness and professionalism. Well done, you have put all my past bad experiences to bed. Not planning a return soon, but a massive thank you to everyone.

I was admitted to a& e with a stroke the fast emergency acting staff saved my life with there quick actions and treatment thank you guys but when I went onto a ward everything went down hill I was left in urine wet through for 3 hours also told to use a bed pan because the agency staff was too lazy to use the hoist and put me on a commode and felt I would get better care at home so felt no choice but to sign myself out I did complain to pals official procedure but not aware that it was concluded successfully I just hope this is not still happening to other patients these problems are because of staff shortage and agencies staff are been used we all need our nhs so it upsets me that some practice from some staff are bringing our over stretched services are going wrong thanks to the staff who are doing an amazing job and the ones that don't do an other job your spoiling it fir the others

Very efficient hospital. I was in there for a couple of weeks for quite serious surgery the nursing staff on the wards respond fairly quickly. My only criticisms would be that the standard of the decor is very poor in some places, and on some days the choices of meals are not that varied & if like me you stay for more than a week the menu choices each week are exactly the same which can be a bit of a problem as the variety is not good so you end up having the same thing each week. Luckily there is a Tesco Express on the main road near the Jubilee Wing entrance & a good coffee shop & small small shop that sells newspapers snacks and drinks and other things. So if you allowed to leave the ward it is a good way to get a change from the daily routine & the chance to get some decent food items.

I have been an inpatient here for 8 days so far after having my left leg, above the knee amputated. I have nothing but praise for all staff members i have encountered. From cleaners, kitchen staff, nurses, doctors, consultants and surgeons etc. All have been polite, friendly, knowlegable & nothing is too much trouble for them. I have no complaints or grumbles of any kind relating to my stay so far in LG.I I have had many stays in various NHS hospitals over the years & i would say without any shadow of a doubt LGI ranks number 1 in my opnion. Also NHS hospital food can on occasions be less than tasty to say the least but all the food ive had in here has been hot, well cooked & delicious. The menu is varied with many options to suit everyones preferences.

I visited LGI on Thursday 1 September at around 8pm with an eye injury (dishwasher tablet burst and splashed into my eye). I had called 111 who advised me to go straight to A&E for an eye irrigation. Checked in on reception and was sent by Triage to the Minor Injuries Unit, which was a long walk away. I said that 111 had stressed a 4-hour timescale for treatment to avoid damage. I couldn't really see and was dizzy. After waiting for over an hour at the MIU, I was assessed and then told the unit was closing at 10pm, so would have to go to RAU. I was told that I should have gone to there in the first place. The doctor was shocked that no assessment or Ph test had been done by Triage. He telephoned RAU and I was given a note to take to them as a priority patient. On arriving at RAU, I asked where to hand the note in and was told to take a seat. I asked another nurse who sent me in the wrong direction. Eventually I arrived at the correct department and was quickly seen by two lovely doctors, who did another Ph test, a saline irrigation and checked my cornea for damage. Luckily there was no damage and I was able to go home with medication at 11.15pm. I feel that the hour and 20 minutes wasted sending me to the wrong department is unacceptable, this could have resulted in damage to my eye. The gentleman on Triage wasn't interested, didn't really look at me and was rude/abrupt. Everyone else in RAU and MIU were lovely and very professional.

I am currently a patient at LGI....I was involved in a head on car crash. I am at the beginning of my stay... I really must say that EVERY member of staff I have come into contact with are absolutely amazing with no exception at all. I feel well looked after, safe and secure. I am in the best place possible and will never be able to thank LGI enough.

This is just a little appreciation review to all of the nurses, healthcare and doctor on a and e last night who treated me. It was a long wait which I expected but the nurses put me at ease and made me feel like nothing was to much of trouble. You all deserve a pay rise that reflects your worth. I left feeling 10 times better than I came in. I was kept up to date on all the steps in my care. My pain and sickness was kept under control which was very much appreciated. Thank you all so much 🤍

was told it’s a 5 hour wait to be seen for a head injury after waiting for an hour and a half after no painkillers was offered. Didn’t want to go in police took us and told us it would be no more than 3 hours. 6 hours wait for a head injury??? and then just sent home when we said we didn’t feel comfortable waiting for 6 hours with no painkillers, terrible place. Head was very swollen and a clear injury and was told to wait longer than people with less serious injuries
