Overall I like this gym for the weights room and the machines and have been a member for 5 years however Nuffield at Cottingley appear to be relying on the locations former glory to see it through. The disabled parking bay rules are not enforced despite emails going out threatening expulsion for people not adhering to the mandate and I even witnessed a member of staff parking his car in one bay. The showers are hit and miss with half of them having issues with thermostats. There are no longer towels provided and the plunge pool has been removed yet prices still go up! The top area of the changing room is basically unusable due to lockers being in permanent use by people who keep them as their own. The staff are disinterested and just just pay lip service when these issues are mentioned. I am by no means on my own with these views, it’s always the topic of conversation when members talk in the sauna and steam room. In terms of subscription fees it’s an expensive gym for one that appears to have stopped investing in delivering first class facilities and service. In a world of give and take there is more taking than giving at this gym.

Not an A grade gym anymore! Jacuzzi has been permanently shut. Letting anti social crowd in as members. Weight machines are quite limited in number and versatility compared with many cheaper membership gyms. I only joined as there were swimming, jacuzzi and sauna. Swimming pool is okish when there aren't uncivilised individuals are using it.

I am very disappointed that yet another pool side area has been closed permanently. After telling members that the popular spa pool is closing for six months we now find out this was never the case. It is just another thing that has gone since I joined around six years ago. We used to get complimentary towels, bag for wet costumes, the plunge pool was closed, the overall cleanliness has gone down Hill, and yet the price of membership goes up. We are told all spa pools around the country are closing to save money but if you are a member in a top tear gym it is staying open (it seems like Nuffield are looking after the richest clients). It is very disappointing to me who used the spa pool a lot. I do not like to slate companies but I don't think I am getting my money's worth anymore.

Need a new punch bag and location of the bag is inconvenient as staff keep waking past to the office. some of the staff are stubborn some of the lockers are out of service and the cold pool is closed down the jacuzzi is looking quiet worn now with tiles falling off and build up of grime' steam room is temperamental. needs some maintenance to keep up with the standards of the nuffield brand.

It's ok, the facilities are nice enough, the gym is on the small side. Lovely pool with a sauna and steam room. Friendly staff and other users are generally nice. Excellent selection of classes. Cafe is basic. For the price I would expect a lot more. They used to provide towels and had a hot tub. They no longer provide either of these. It seems the price goes up while they strip away services.

Closed spa pool 6 months over winter, inexplicable on a financial level due to high monthly fees. No sanitary equipment for women to use or even buy on site. Steam room often not working correctly. Lovely setting but not maximised to full potential.

Too expensive for what it is, and more price hikes on memberships too. Staff are great and friendly, showers are dated and poorly maintained. Extremely busy during peak times and rooms are small. Equipment selection is OK, but still not worth the prices.

Went July 2022. Has everything for keeping in good shape e.g modern equipment, classes, swim, sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Has stopped providing towels, plunge pool closed and some building repairs outstanding. Half of the swimming area used for lessons.

My second home! The very best staff from reception through to cleaners; class teachers; membership admin and PT’s in the gym. Very clean. Bursting with facilities and a huge full sized pool in a vintage building of character. Just love it and I am there every day!

It has everything you need in a gym and the pool is great when it's not busy. The staff are a little hit and miss, but overall they're great. The equipment is the best I've seen at any gym, the PTs all seem lovely, I haven't attended any classes yet.

It is expensive for what it is. It requires some serious renovation. It doesn't provide as many classes as one would expect and the range of classes is restricted (no Body Attack or Body Step). Staff don't listen to complaints. Life guards and swim instructors come and go in the female changing rooms through the fire exit. As a result the door opens when people are naked exposing them to those sitting in the pool area. I raised this with a man and woman in the reception on 26 August 2022 around 1pm, and other than an apology nothing happened. It is conveniently located for me, but I'm not very happy and am considering my options once my contract ends.

First we tried to book online a visit to the gym but were unable, then we called to book at 7:05pm 17/03/23 and the customer service answered call person named Charlie answered and said we can have a tour and visit whilst we will also be explained membership options but we would not be able to use the facilities. Then I rang again to ask if we were able to use facilities as one of our friend was also a member and the person called Charlie again picked up the phone at 7:12pm 17/03/23 and said if your friend is a member he can bring 2 guests with him and use the facilities this was specifically confirmed. Then we in a rush prepared ourselves to come in gym from Keighley on our own cars but upon arriving we were greeted by I think by person called James and he rudely said that we cannot enter the gym unless we pay visiting fees of £15 despite confirming earlier with Charlie that our friend was a member and we reached at 8:30pm 1:30 hour before gym close time, then we had along argument then the duty manager came named Sam he was also was acting the same way, rudely they were not ready to listen to us but constantly we saying pay to go in or you cannot enter the gym. Then we explained that we rang and explicitly said we asked on phone but they denied and Charlie by the time we reached had left, we asked them to confirm or listen to the call recording but this was denied by Sam. Both of them agreed that Charlie before leaving explained to the that two people will to visit. Which I don’t understand as I was told I can visit and use the facilities but the people at reception did not agree. This left us very disappointed and my friend will soon be leaving this gym and will make sure not to recommend anyone Hopefully we will get a good outcome from this feedback and response

I have had a new knee after suffering 12 years with it and after my treatment at the nuffield hospital i was asked to attend their rehabilitation centre just to see how i was doing . Wow and just like their hospital it was very impressive it is in a beautiful setting its a huge old house with various extensions set out in fantastic gardens .when i met up with the physiotherapist he took me through to his office through the very well equipped gym of which he said i could have a free 4 weeks membership because of my stay at their hospital i had thought to myself was only fair seeing how all the weight gain was due to their fantastic food i could not resist whilst in their hospital !!!

Reduced a number of facilities yet still Charging the same price. Down time on maintenance seems to be a regular occurrence. Otherwise clean, well presented gym, friendly & helpful staff.

Great swimming pool, including the steam & sauna. Can’t say the same about the weights room, felt small and claustrophobic with only 6 people training. Cardio room was a little better. Other than that it was very clean and nice interior. Wouldn’t want to train here if it was busy though.

have been a member for a number of years and have seen a very dissapointing decline in the facilities and services offered at this gym/ swimming pool. My daughter has been going there for swimming lessons for over two years, from which I have recently removed her due to lack of progress. Two years of swimming lessons and she still can't swim breast-stroke. The emphasis of this gym seems to be profit over services. They closed the plunge pool and the jacuzzi. When i want to take her swimming on a weekend, there is no room for children due to one third of the pool being taken by lane swimming, another for lessons, leaving leaving the remaining third over populated. My wife recently cancelled her membership. I am seriously considering my ongoing membership. Despite the reduction in facilites, the price has increased.

I would like to share my experience at this so called premium gym , this place is full of theives , and staff who don’t care if you possessions are taken , people would take your shorts your towels , if you even blink , report it to cleaners and you get laughed at , report it to management and they tell you to your contract terminated , good luck with joining this well run gym !!

After been absent from the gym for 2 years l was a little nervous returning but l was greeted by sam on reception ,who greeted me with a smile and he made me feel welcome then l spoke to Helen (manager) who made me feel relaxed she explained how machines were wiped regular and it was covid safe.she was very friendly and professional.she made me appointment to join up again as member with Mike who was very informative friendly and professional. I then made enquiries with Sam to set up a work out routine he booked me in with Dan PT instructor he set up a brilliant routine for me to follow he had a lovely personality and he had good communication skills and not forgetting Tom who l saw at the pool area he gave me a smile and asked me how l was because l remember him from 2years ago he was always friendly and helpful The gym was spotless and equipment was wiped down regular.it’s a pleasure to be back at the gym at cottingley great staff and superb team work great to be back. 😀

Took my granddaughter for her swimming lesson but the only place to sit and watch was on a very low stone ledge which is fine for youngsters but not over 70,s !!

This is a very beautiful gym- the pool facilities are stunning as is the building itself. Free weights are a bit lacking- better to go to shipley nuffield for that- but everything else is high end.

Gym equipment, PTs and classes great. Changing rooms don't reflect the membership price, lack of air conditioning in the gym is v poor (it's like a sauna in warm weather) and the junior offering doesn't work for real life people with jobs. Management continually ignore any negative feedback on anything.
