Was moved to the gym after previous gym was closed. By far the worst gym in Bradford. Weights are never put away. Machine constantly broken & leather pads cracking & worn. Equipment misused. Dumbbells 40kg been out of use for over a year (broken). Dumbbells as follows have been damaged due to miss use of equipment by other members & out of use; 28kg, 30kg, 32kg, 34kg, 36kg, 42kg, 48kg & 50kg. They have been slammed or chucked around and been out of use for over 2 months now. What is the purpose of a gym if it can’t even provide decent equipment?! The website says they have hundreds of pieces but a third of them are out of use. Equipment never get cleaned properly. Showers only stay on when pressed for 5seconds so needs to be constantly pressed. Changing rooms are not cleaned until the end of the day so it is not very hygienic or full of empty bottles. In my opinion they should of had more eyes in the free weights section as this is where most of the weights are not put away or dumbbells being miss used or they wouldn’t be broken in the 1st place. No action has been taken & if so a little too late. No management on late shift which is a must. Cleaners being told to put weights back in late shifts!

Really poor. As others have said very overcrowded. Equipment is missing e.g handles for flys, and faulty equipment isnt repaired or replaced. However the worst thing is the attitude of the staff. There are a couple of decent staff members but they are the minority. In conclusion, if it is all the same to you, go to Pure Gym, who have got it right on so many levels. The only reason I am here is due to the location. ***update*** Over half of the treadmills are not working. Totally unacceptable.

Visited the gym this morning and many things are of order, this gym has in excess of 7000 members x £20. They leave things for ages to get replaced, what’s the point of having facility’s which are not functional. Things will get broken damaged and normal wear and tear. Jds get your finger out and get this sorted please. Thank you for your continued support.

Literally the worst gym in Bradford. The staff are just as clueless as the inbred gym members. Had nothing but issues since switching from Pure Gym. Probably get better service at a Hostel in Prague. If you enjoy your curry stained free weights and changing rooms which have the worlds finest fish fragrances then enjoy! Unfortunately we can't give 0 ratings on Google!

It was this day, 4 years after they first decided upon joining the gym, that the group realized the terrible mistake they had made. For it was not simply a case of false advertising that led them to these thoughts, but more so the sudden realization of the presence of a putrid musty odour within the air. The profusion of stenches, ranging from soiled undergarments to urine-soaked bras, was not something you were expected to encounter within a sewage plant, let alone the men’s changing rooms of JD Gyms Bradford. Nevertheless, it was present within every facet of the room. Quickly, they ran out. But it was too late, for the vile stenches had imprinted horrendous images in their minds, but it served to finally open their eyes. They glanced around and gazed upon the interminable views of broken equipment, missing dumbbells, and individuals seemingly within the various stages of devolution. They quickly noticed that all of these ‘people’ (if they could still be called that) had something in common, they exuded a profound aura of extreme pretentiousness. Some were in their teens whilst many were well above 30. The group quickly realised these were not people who could be reasoned with or talked to. It was apparent they were in the gym for a singular purpose, to fuel their ability at breaking the rules. JD Gyms Bradford was the paragon of a failed society on the verge of imploding. With no real authority or compensation offered to the gym staff, there was no inclination for them to enforce the rules. As such, the gym had quickly fallen into disarray. Overpopulation was also rampant within the gym. Since the higher-ups would only measure the gym’s performance by one metric (that metric having the unit of a dollar sign) it was inevitable that the gym would quickly become oversubscribed to the detriment of those already present. Luckily, there was a rogue black hole entering the solar system shortly after the group cancelled their memberships. This led to massive gravimetric distortions which eventually caused to gym to be swallowed up into the event horizon. Every Golf R present in the parking lot was seemingly obliterated and every individual responsible for the gym’s downfall suffered the effects of time dilation. Every outside observer was unharmed and could see these awful people and JD Gyms Bradford stuck frozen on the event horizon of the black hole for eternity. They could never bother anyone ever again and with their absence from the universe, Bradford became the new capital of England.

Absolutely fed up with the sorry state of JD Gym Bradford! The so-called 'limited' machines for chest press and bench press are a joke. And don't even get me started on the excruciating wait time for repairs when equipment breaks down. This place is a prime example of a lack of maintenance and care. Seriously, this is hands down the worst gym experience ever – no maintenance, hardly any working machines. Unacceptable Replying to the review. The following equipment is out of order from the last two weeks and JD Bradford have not enough equipment to replace it Absolute disappointment

Great gym, however I went in one evening and needed some fresh air. Couldn’t get back in the gym as my code had already been used once and there were no staff to be seen what so ever, so had to go home. Really not happy as I paid for a membership, I should be able to go in and out the gym as many times I want as I paid for it. At least have one staff member on shift at night.

Broken weights been over 2 week still not replaced. There are thousands of members its not like they cant afford to buy new weights. The gym needs to remember its only handful of members that cant care less about the equipment being used. But it seems they want to penalise everybody else. I used to love the gym but over time my love for the gym is diminishing due to careless management.

I came to the gym yesterday and when I entered the gym it was much warmer inside the gym then outside this was after the heatwave. Im a professional athlete that cycles 100 miles a day 3 times a week and compete in bike races around the world. I like to use the gym for a short 1 hour high intensity cardio holding 95% max heart It was very warm and I was struggling to keep my body cool. I asked a member of staff to turn up the air conditioning he said it was on?? but it was much warmer inside then it was outside he was very rude to me and had a attitude as do must of the other staff I could have fainted in the heat and they were not even listening to me and had a attitude I only did 30 minutes of my 1 hour workout I was unable to continue being drenched in sweat and gasping to breath it was too hot. I went outside were it was much cooler and I felt better i came home and canceled my membership i will not use the gym again the staff are so stuck up and very rude and told me not to come back again if you complain.

A terrible gym that's rapidly declined in value that's no longer worth the money. The customers are terrible, make a mess, throw the weights and just don't care about anyone else but themselves. The staff don't exercise their authority to punish those that don't follow the rules, and as a result, it has become an absolutely awful place to workout. The dumbells between the ranges of 20kg-50kg have been missing for over 3 months, and it seems they will be like that indefinitely. No longer worth the money. Apparently you get 40 year olds proudly claiming to be the one's responsible for breaking the heavy weights. Of course it's been through so many ears it's just heresay, but those are the kinds of customers you'll be dealing with in the gym.

Decent gym let down hugely by PCM. The carpark is monitored, i parked there and was at the gym for a little over 2 hours, the tablet used to register your car was not funtioning at the time, due to that, myself and a few other members had left their registration numbers on a sheet above the tablet. I received a fine from PCM and appealed against it which was rejected. Jd gym have told me they cant do anything as it is out of their control, in fact PCM have fined staff members too for using the car park.

For a few months now there are a lot of weights which have not been replaced. I’ve complained a numerous times to staff but I get told they’re looking into sorting it. Considering how many members they have and the money they make there’s no reason not to replace the weights Shocking! Overall a good gym and have good equipment and the gym is always clean.

Use to be the best gym in Bradford 4 years ago. Now they’ve took on too many members, always overcrowded unfortunately. This gym will also find any excuse to send you a parking notice. So many members have got parking tickets, absolutely ridiculous to say we’re monthly paying members. Then the gym will tell you they cant do anything because it’s “privately” owned. Now I only use this gym if I have to train at 12-1am and use someone else’s barcode because i aint paying these £20 a month! :D

JD gym members are given packing notice without any defence from the management to their landlord, who also owns the car park. This lack of action could potentially harm the reputation of the gym, and negatively impact its members. It is essential for gym management to prioritise the well-being and satisfaction of their customers and take proactive steps to address any issues or concerns raised by them. The parking notice that members are getting is equivalent to 3 months of membership.

PLEASE TURN THE AIR CON ON!! I've rejoined the gym after a month off and noticed they no longer turn the air-con on! Considering it's summer and like 25° outside they should turn it on. Inside the gym it's much warmer what with everyone working out and after a few mins working out, it gets really hot to the point where I'm dripping! I asked a member of staff if it was on and they said it was but clearly it wasn't

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM.. Absolutely pathetic service. The staff treat you like an inconvenience. As today there are 7 machines out of order. All 3 hair dryers in mens changing room are broken. Sauna is broken and has been for last 4 weeks. Urine all over the floors. Guess what. If you complain. They say. Well its Bradford. What can you do? Anyway I've cancelled my membership and anyone with an ounce worth of decency/self worth will do the same . Unless you enjoy being treated as sub standard. Just go and view the place before you join.

I’ve been a member at this gym for just over a year and I can honestly say I have had enough - The hygiene in this gym is absolutely horrendous, the women’s showers are never clean there is always a tonne of hair in the showers, pads and pantyliners are flowing out of the bins, machines are never working - 2 treadmills have been out of use for over 3 weeks and nothing has been done about it. My clothes and other peoples belongings have been stolen and nothing is ever done about that either. There is no staff at the gym after 10 pm and you can’t gain entry after 10 pm if your code doesn’t work. It’s appalling that so many people have complained yet nothing has been done, I’ve been told that the gym is under new management (1 month ago) however the issues remain the same. I would also like to add that the phones are never answered . I’d recommend that you save your money and go elsewhere !

Always overcrowded (5 - 9pm). Hard to find a parking spot(2hour limit or 3 hours if you log your reg plate in) Several broken machines that never seem to get fixed, staff hardly seen on shop floor. Members never put weights back on the rack and shower areas could be a lot cleaner. I continue to use this gym purely due to its convenient location otherwise I'd happily go eslewhere.

Been a member for a while, tolerate stuff usually however the class area us closed today. Low on staff. I asked if this would be a regular thing to which I was told need to do internal audits every two weeks. This hasn't been the case up to now. I only use the upstairs twice a week. As I can do various things upstairs plus out of way. Then I was almost told how to experience the gym or use it. Think it's time to move.

Good place to be. Been going here nearly one year now as a gym newbie. This gym has a variety of machines to aid in strength/resistance training as well as a wide range of cardio machines such as treadmills, cross trainer, various bikes and rowing machine. Recently, they have added a SkiErg machine - I need to try this out one day. Downstairs, they have a lot of free weight dumbbells and bars. There are also some cable machines, squat/lift racks and bench press rack. Upstairs, there is a ladies only section. It is a rather small area I have been told. In addition to this, there is also a Spin room upstairs. Facilities wise there are changing rooms, showers and a sauna present. There are vending machines to buy apparel such as towel, padlock, protein shakes, drinks etc. There is car parking available throughout the retail park - registration must be entered on the tablet computer located at reception desk if staying long.

Awful gym, the ladies section is absolutely filthy, hair all over the floor you can tell it isn’t cleaned thoroughly . The manager has and still is very arrogant when you try to raise a complaint he could not care less. The gym is over packed at all times, the AC is never turned on and during a 5pm workout I noticed that it was 18 degrees in the ladies area, upon mentioning this to the manager he offered no solution. Bradford definitely needs a better gym than JD’s as this gym is just getting worse.

Avoid if you want to keep your belongings safe. My jacket with house keys and clothes were stolen. Staff were very unhelpful. I asked them to review CCTV of the entrance & exit & their response was that a lot of items have been stolen recently & they will check soon. Anyone else who has had items stolen please report to the police & official JD Gyms. The Bradford branch is horrible.

Let's see, its hugely oversubscribed and during peak hours (4-7pm), good luck finding an available machine or cardio device. The floorspace is large but very poorly arranged. Its simply too convoluted for the machine spacing and 6,500 members (correct as at Summer/Autumn 2021). The machines are cheaply built with poor components. There are regularly several machines inactive or broken. 6 are inoperative at the time of writing this (October 2021). A simple thing like handles for cable flys or ropes for tricep work are either frayed or invisible. That's why I had to buy my own!! The machine maintenance schedule is severely poor, meaning some have now been out of service for 4 to 6 weeks. For a gym that has over £1.5m in annual revenue from just subscription, that's just unforgiveable. The majority of personal trainers lack the basic ability to train others. I have seen clients under instruction from a PT who clearly isn't watching their form, breathing or movement and let's their client struggle to the point of potential injury. What's worse is that the key word in the PTs job description is "Personal" and this is a severely lacking skill. I haven't seen even a smile on their faces, let alone see them having a polite conversation. Sadly this is more prevalent among the female staff. The general modus operandi seems to be congregate behind the reception desk, hide in the staff room or occasionally be seen re-racking weights. The majority of people that remain clients here do so out of convenience and not desire It's just poor.

The gym its self is good, all the equipment you could ask for. It is a shame how it is miss used and treated though. The gym floor is messy as weights are never returned to there rightful place and the majority of customers do not clean after use.

JD Gyms is one of the best gyms in Bradford. The gym has a wide range of machines and a huge portion of the room for free weights. Their trainers conduct 350 fitness and conditioning classes every month. It has a ladies-only gym and luxury changing rooms. The gym has 250+ cardio machines. It has plenty of free parking areas. You can get a one-day guest pass which helps you save money. They have a strong team of expert Personal Trainers who go above and beyond to help their members to become more.

Huge let down due to the parking restrictions. Only 2 hours parking, machines you want to use are always busy so you have to wait your turn, so most of the time is spend waiting about. Had a parking fine but management was very dismissive, didn’t let you know that gym users can have parking time increases to 3 hours if they gave their car reg on entry, huge flaw. This should have been pointed out to new users 👎👎👎

Good quality gym a great range of equipment I have tried some of the so called premium gyms yet they wouldn't have even 10% of the equipment JD gym has to offer. At peak times expect it to be very busy.

Best gym I've ever had a membership at. The staff and trainers are really friendly and helpful, the atmosphere in the gym is great and everyone helps each other if they need. Many facilities including a toilet and soon a sauna with many perfectly working machines. Can't ask much else from a gym. Despite it being a commercial gym it establishes an amazing community feel to it and I really enjoy it there. Would honestly recommend this over any other Bradford gym by far. Price for a monthly subscription is also not too high as it ranges between 22 and 25 quid. I say, give it a try.

Great gym ,has all the equipment you need and a little more, could do with another leg extension machine, everything else is plenty, try and go mornings or afternoon as it gets stupidly busy in the evenings. Good showering facilities and has a sauna for the post work out relaxation. Overall excellent gym.

The gym I visited recently was well-maintained and had a good selection of equipment. The staff were friendly and helpful, always willing to offer assistance or advice. The atmosphere was clean and comfortable. They also have a variety of classes and amenities like sauna and shower that makes the experience complete. Overall, I had a positive experience at this gym and would recommend it to others.

Best to avoid the 5-7pm rush, it gets very overcrowded and no one has the decency of putting the weights back. Machines are always broken. One incline bench for example has had a bar missing for maybe a year. You would think they’d have that rectified by now.

Nice and clean gym. Classes are good but some instructors can show a "cant be bothered" attitude but this does not apply to everyone. I love Chloes classes shes amazing really pushes you to your maximum. However im not impressed with the showers i did complain several weeks ago but heard nothing back. Its 24/7 gym close to where i am and im not trapped in a yearly contract so only reason i joined.

The gym is good very clean it has got 2 heavy bags which are very durable however the space for the boxing is very limited and I feel like the studio room is always busy with classes so it's not convineiant especially if you want to do skipping or any activitys where you would need space the place though is very busy and is rare to find times where its quiet if you don't mind that you will be fine but apart from that it's good

The gym includes alot of quality equipment and machines, however the place is a bit of a mess most of the time, with weights and dumbells that have not been returned to their correct space. The gym is usually very busy, however it is not that bad if you go early. Friendly staff and great quality machines. There is normally no one behind the reception desk majority of the time though. Overall decent gym complete with a good sauna and showeroom.

Good or bad I often don’t like to leave reviews. However in this instance feedback is appropriate. The positive is jd gyms Bradford is conveniently located, has a range of different equipment and on most days of the year is accessible 24/7 (actually let’s rephrase it’s available at least for one time entry once a day any time of day). My experience today though was poor. With it being the Christmas period Jd gyms have chosen to operate reduced hours. I’m understanding of that. However surely you should be aware of your customer base in that not everyone will be celebrating and even if they are celebrating it’s a time of year where people will still want access to the gym at their convenience. Nevertheless you’ve relayed you will close at 4 pm on Boxing Day. So I as a customer have come two and half hours before closing. Todays work out, treadmill work and heavy bag work as the weights area is packed to the brim (sardine cans are packed with more room then what was available to paint you a picture). I’m 2 minutes into my heavy bag work. The cleaner approaches ‘I’m sorry bro I need to clean this area”. Hold on a second you’re operating on reduced hours and I’ve turned up with ample time before closing but you need to clean here and restrict access to equipment I pay membership to have access to? Gormless response I received, I have to. Well can you not come back in 15 minutes or so. No sorry I’ll give you 3 more minutes 😂 At this point l was annoyed but sure that’s fine you’re doing your job and I can’t hold you at fault for that. Following this I’ve sought out the management on site. Knocked on the office door. I explain what’s just happened and the response is that again of a gormless individual well they have to clean. If they don’t you’ll complain. Again I relayed I understood this but surely where you are choosing to reduce hours then access to the full equipment should be available in those restricted hours. The response I received, I understand but everyone needs to be out by 4. I was left dumbfounded at the attitude I was exposed to and the fact they were unwilling to do anything about the issue I raised. Common sense would have you think maybe an appropriate response would be we are really sorry about the experience this time, but we will consider the situation so perhaps next time we can put appropriate measures in place to reduce inconvenience to our valued members.

JD gym has all the features you need in a gym, a whole row of treadmills and other cardio equipment with bicycles, a full range of diverse weight training equipment including five squat racks and two laminate floored dead lift sections. The toilets, changing rooms and showers are all kept clean and have a really nice aesthetic. The only thing that's missing is a swimming pool but overall it's a really good gym. Does get really busy at a times but there's a reason why.

  • 3/5 M S. 2 years ago on Google
Having been here a few years now, the classes are quite good. Equipment does need attention as some machines do have issues on a regular basis ie the rowing machines- timer not working. The changing rooms do have a distinct odour from time to time. They could do with a cleaner every other hour or so to maintain the hygiene. Parking is available. Overall it’s a good gym.

They dont manage to do security efficiently People who are less wise compete with people who have been getting better results the gym needs to be more persuasive and approachable communicating offers and services better People go to gain muscle but end up gaining fat sometimes Its like it got everything professional equipment i would look at their services and how they help new people gain the benefits of gym
