Absolutely fabulous every single time we go. We were lucky to visit most recently on a sunny Friday and it was very busy, but still ample space so we didn't miss out on anything. Included in the entry price was giving milk to the calves and the lambs. There's tons of other animals to pet & feed, the staff are friendly and nice, and so much else to do including swings, slides, mini tractors, trampolines and a bouncy castle. There's also a little garden centre where you can buy plants, and the cafe, where the food is very tasty. You definitely get your money's worth and the kids are always knackered after a fun and active day out. Ample parking and easy to find, cannot rave about this place enough.

Don't judge a book by it's cover. We got there and thought oh god it doesn't look great, but we were so wrong. The animals were well cared for and really friendly. You can tell they are used to people. The massive cows and the pigs are like dogs 😍 really clean, plenty of hand washing places, animals look well looked after. Kids were very happy with the play areas etc, food wasn't to expensive either. We were lucky to see newborn piglets born that morning! My daughter loved bottle feeding the calves and brushing the rabbit, as well as all the cows. I loved the big cows in the barn, Lurch was defo my favourite 😍 If we come back this way on holiday again, we will definitely be stopping. Highly recommended.

Lovely family day out. Very reasonable entry price too. We all had a fabulous time. The children absolutely loved feeding the animals with the packs of carrots for 50p, also giving the calfs their bottles of milk. The play area was great too, with the tractors and scooters ect, also the play area to climb in. Lovely cafe too, or plenty of benches to sit at, if you take your own picnic. Very hygienic everywhere too, with lots of places to sanitize or wash your hands. Brilliant day out!!

A very 'ramshackle' type working farm but open to visitors. Be prepared to experience some rickety rides and play areas but although how things look the kids loved them. The place is very expensive for what it is and we were charged Β£35 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children, 1 being only 3 and charged full price!! Why the need to charge adults full price?? Its a kids farm?? There are other better farms in the area for less money so please bear that in mind!!! We would return but only once a year at these prices I'm afraid!!!

Great place to bring the children - lots of farm animals, an outside play area and indoor soft play area with lots of space! The cafe serves good, unfussy food at reasonable prices with a delicious range of ice cream flavours (including vegan). I also enjoy visiting the butcher for a tasty steak pie on the way out!

Very fond of this place. I have been bringing my children here since 2019 and made some unforgettable memories. Far far better than other open farms in Yorkshire. The kids can get up close to the farm animals, feeding etc. There is plenty for them to do. Lots of spaced out indoor and outdoor play areas rather than all in one place which I like including a new sand play area which looks like great fun in the summertime. I find the pricing reasonable to say some of the other open farms are almost Β£50 for a small family. Would definitely rather spend my money here. Can't wait to visit again !

A great place for little ones. Lots of beautiful animals to feed. Lots of fun play areas for the children to enjoy. Such a magical day. A lovely cafe too. Just wish they did annual passes. We'd be there all of the time!

It's no Hollywood farm, probably flouts a few health and safety regulations (doesn't bother me, adds to its charm in fact) but there's loads for the kids to do and you can feed all the animals. Cafe is pretty good if you're after something cheap and cheerful and it has a surprisingly cute gift shop. It's pretty windy up there so wrap up warm.

Good day out. Loads of animals to walk round and feed. Play barn looks a bit tired and in need of some investment. Cafe has decent, well priced food serving the usual sort of stuff you'd expect. Animals seem to be well looked after.

We visited for our sons birthday. Booked the younger ones into the play centre, had some lunch, and then did the 2-hour farmer experience! WOW! This was amazing. We bottle fed lambs and calfs, and we got to hold baby bunnies. Hand fed the meerkats! What an experience! We brushed the pony's and walked them around the farm too. Ruby was our farm guide, and she was fantastic with the kids and explaining how the farm worked as we made our way round and telling us about all the animals they have. It's definitely worth the visit. The one and only complaint I have is my milkshake we got at the end wasn't cold, but literally that's it, everything else was fantastic, lots of play area's for the kids, picnic area, feed the animals carrots on your way round (50p a box) well worth it. All the staff were friendly and helpful but the lady who signed us in was lovely and even came to ask us how everything had gone at the end and Ruby, these ladies are a credit to the farm and team of staff!

Brilliant day out for all the family my kids age 12, 9 and 7 all really enjoyed it, as well as myself, my partner and grandmother in law. We were there from lunch time til closing, and they enjoyed it all. Feeding the calves and lambs there milk, seeing all the animals, playing on the tractors and climbing wall. Lovely food in a nice clean cafe at a great price. Would love to come again if we are back up in the area.

A jam packed fun day out for the family, great for all ages. You could easily spend hours and hours here, there’s so much to explore and experience. The staff are extremely friendly, you can bottle feed calf’s and goats. Purchase cartons of carrots for 50p and feed the other animals including cows and pigs. There are interaction stations for children to pet baby chicks and brush bunnies. There are rope swings, slides, tight rope. Including trampolines, bouncy castles and electronic cars. If you pick a warm dry day, you’re going to love it.

We love Swithens Farm. Such a friendly, welcoming place. The staff are phenomenal, so helpful and great with the children. The animals are well looked after. The outdoor play areas are currently having an upgrade, but there is plenty to see and do. It's not too expensive for anything food and gifts included. It's just a wonderful place to visit 😊

Went camping here. really nice be so close to the animals and the late checkout is amazing. Farm is ok to go around and feed lambs. Also food is very nice at the cafe. Although camping toilets are portaloos they were clean and didn't not smell. Drinking water was available on campsite and, play area is opened for free at 5pm for kids and that was really good. Also very dog friendly

Another excellent trip to the farm for pumpkin picking. So much to do and the staff are so friendly bringing the animals out. Pumpkin picking was great with a nice walk round the woods after the tractor ride to meet the witch in the woods. My new favourite place. Thank you all.

  • 5/5 Explore With Son & M. 1 year ago on Google
Absolutely amazing!!! This is what cannon hall used to be, and what cannon hall claims to be but isn’t at all. This is a proper farm, with happy proper farm animals. You can get up close, feed them, pet them. It’s a proper farm and absolutely so worth a day out. I’d say this is the best we’ve visited in all of the UK, and we take our toddler to lots of farms. We got to feed a calf, pet a rabbit, get up close to animals. The play areas are so good and suitable for young toddler right up to an older kid. Honestly amazing, will 100% be back in summer.

  • 5/5 Marc R. 1 year ago on Google

We had a great time with family, The kids loved the animals, mini tractors and slides. So much to see and so much for kids to do. Great family day out.

  • 5/5 Holly B. 9 months ago on Google
Great farm with lots to see. It was our first time visiting, and we were surprised at how much there was to look at and do. Everyone who works there is really friendly. They have a big cafe which has nice food, a farm shop and a big gift shop. The farm is a working farm so the cows, sheep and pigs aren't kept in fancy pens but that didn't bother us as you get to get really close to them, and see them be fed. We even got a chance to stroke the cows. They were very friendly. There is a bigger selection of animals outside, including goats, donkeys, Shetland ponies, chickens, etc. Then, there is a smaller animal area inside with guinea pigs and rabbits. There is a payable soft play area that we did not use. But there are plenty of other play areas. There is a large sand area with a play area on it and a few others dotted around the farm. There are some mini ride on tractors as well in a sectioned off area. We would definitely visit again.

  • 5/5 Chloe W. 5 months ago on Google
Absolutely fantastic place with so much to see and do for children. Plenty of animals to feed and carrots are only Β£1 a box. Lots of play areas too. We had lunch in the cafe and it did not disappoint. It was delicious! Will definitely return.

The farm is great, you can feed and pet the animals and the kids loved it. The restaurant could do with a bit of improvement but this was no big deal. Staff are lovely and the animals well kept.

The best place for kids. Not only can you get to know the animals, but there are also plenty of opportunities to play. Sandpits, bouncy castle, playground, soft play etc .

  • 5/5 sumayya d. 3 years ago on Google
Lovely farm. Little boy enjoyed his visit. Lots of places to play and see animals. They have trampolines, play area, a little area with tractors and trikes for kids to play, sand area and hay stack for kids to clamber. Wellies are a must as it's quite muddy. We had to clean the buggy wheels before putting in car. Do buy carrots as there's many mouths to feed!!! Fresh eggs available to buy too!!!

  • 4/5 Grey H. 3 years ago on Google
Must admit was a little dubious when first arrived as it did look a bit on the rundown side. However it's actually a great place and one of the few open farms left where children can feed the livestock and coming from a farming background this was good to see. There was quite a variety of animals, all looked to be well cared for and the staff were friendly. Would go again and my 9 year old niece really enjoyed it.

  • 5/5 Ruth H. 3 years ago on Google
Had a lovely Halloween experience with daughter and granddaughters despite the weather and the mud. Maybe some straw could have been scattered over the extremely muddy paths and a wellie wash facility would have been useful. Staff were helpful and covid aware. We were pleased to see that the cafe was still open. Food is excellent, especially the cakes. A highly enjoyable day.

  • 5/5 Beverley A. 3 years ago on Google
This is a great place for the kids! Went with my grandkids and they loved it. Loved walking round and interacting with all the animals also fresh air what you cant beat just what kids need. Play area too which is spot on and a large cafe well spaced out. The food is fab! all fresh and the price is well worth it as the portion sizes are great!! Would definitely go again so its a thumbs up from me..

I think this place is under rated, its a farm, not the ritz, I've been several times and found it to be great, animals in good condition, owner was floating about and happy to answer questions, fab place, fun and friendly, I will be going again in the next week so I can show you true pics and vids showing its great. Its sad to see such awful reviews that are u just, my little girl is two and is in awe everytime we go. Great day out, go try and see for yourself,

At face value, looks a bit naff. Untidy, not very well organised. But, hands on experience with the animals, plenty for the kids and more importantly a really nice place. Staff are fantastic too. The place is unkept and it does look like half the rides and kids activities were set up in the 90s and haven't been updated. But fantastic day out. If you like farms. If you don't, I probably wouldn't bother.

Went to cafe for food, fast service quality food. Staff were friendly and helpful, Went for Halloween festival excellent day out weather was atrocious and everywhere muddy but that's not the fault of the owners, kids probably enjoyed more seeing the witch in the woods etc as well as getting muddied up to the eyeballs as well, good day out, been before in summer, great place, would recommend a visit to anyone with kids, I'm 60 and still enjoyed so no age limit, πŸ˜€

I find it absolutely appalling that one of the members of staff on the farm is walking around in a Moncler coat, that is covered in fur around the hood! Just goes to show how much these guys care about their animals clearly. Poor animals!

Took my grandson's for the Pumpkin festival & we had a lovely time & the boy's loved it! Only thing I'd recommend is wheelbarrows for the pumpkins to get them from the pumpkin patch to the tractor & from the tractor to the car park, we really struggled as we had 5 & they were far too heavy for the boy's to carry.
