Just above Ilkley town, a nice stretch of a walk (only 10-15 minutes from the centre of town/railway station) up the hill and well worth the effort. The tarn itself is a small ornamental lake that is home to local ducks and visiting birds. Lovely views further north through the trees see more of Wharfedale in the distance. The tarn is aligned east west and the late afternoon sun throws a lovely glow on it. There is a path all the way round the tarn for a pleasant and easy return to town. It is possible to reach further afield east to Cow and Calf or to White Wells Spa (20/10 minutes respectively) or even the cairn higher up on Ilkley Moor (20 minutes) for the more adventurous.

Such a lovely little place on the edge of Ilkley Moor with many beautiful views and walks in the surroundings. Good accessibility from the car park along tarmac paths. Definitely worth a visit.

Lovely for family walks and is great for dogs also you can go and visit the water house up the hill I would definitely recommend
