Reason for this review is I contacted them 5 weeks ago about a home matter which Iโ€™ve chased since and heard nothing. Not the first time theyโ€™ve been immensely slow to respond or take action about a problem. Impossible to get hold of. Donโ€™t deal with problems. Ignore inquiries. Theyโ€™re just pretty incapable all round.

Not good at all, they know about leak behind the wall before I moved in. Reported many times in last 18 months, leak are ongoing. Mould on floor under vinyl. Patio doors not fixed. Just hear we apologise and we fix but nothing happening.

There maintenance team are shockingly poor . Missed appointments, Wrong type of contractors arriving when they do arrive . They seem to think you can take time off work to sit around waiting and hoping they are going to turn up . Been waiting nearly six months for a radiator to be fit only to be told by contractor to use my oven . Still waiting..............

Whatever you do don't try and buy a house off Accent Housing or their subsidiary Homemade Homes. My ex partner made an offer on a 75% ownership house on August 6th 2022. Since then the company have done absolutely nothing to move it forward. They have been obstructive and rude, ignored emails and correspondence even from solicitors, come up with absurd reasons the sale can't go through then not acted on them. Literally nothing has been done in six months. it makes utterly no sense why they wouldn't want to sell a property other than due to their complete and utter incompetence. My ex partner who has recently survived cancer has now lost out on her mortgage offer and has had to be signed off work due to the stress this has caused and is now without a property.

Since I moved in with accent I sleep in peace. Thatโ€™s all I have to say. They look after you. I donโ€™t know why their rating is so low. Try living with private landlords and you will appreciate this association more. Thank you for helping us in hard times and providing a roof over my families head.

It's taken Accent 13 months to almost complete my planned kitchen, they thought they'd do anything whilst I worked full time. And have done nothing to resolve a 4 year ASB parking issue with a neighbour, despite the Police and local councillor being involved. Any resolution is a temporary fix. Only way to get their attention is to make a formal complaint, no telecommunication or verbal meetings unless recorded, give them a time limit then write to the Housing Ombudsman. Last year hundreds of tenants complained directly to ITV news which led to an investigation and a report with fines for the councils and housing associations. Organisations and businesses are audited and must justify expenditure and services to an authority. Also make a Subject Access Request for any information or data Accent have to track your complaints.

I have a toilet that runs all the time and being on a water metre and being disabled they've told me they can't come until the 27th of this month even though I have told them I have had to turn my water off. I'm not best pleased

I have been a tenant since Oct 1999 to be fair if I call for a repair it is generally sorted in a good time scale but they have no interest in making things right. The charges and fee skips etc only apply to people not working anyone working paying full rent etc are ignored ignored

Dreadful housing association. ASB tenants given priority over good tenants...why? because the managers don't want the paperwork. Big example IMO experience...Neighbour moved from one one over 55s scheme to another(with an existing ASB order(No 1 against them from previous address for damaging Accent communal property in a sheltered scheme). This tenant then causes massive problems with at least 5 immediate neighbours...yeah this person loves to harass neighbours!...so Accent open another ASB(No 2) at their new address and soon after it is closed because they are really good at blaming everyone else. So they then decide to harass a disabled neighbour with very poor health who has lived peacefully for over 8years without any issues. So they reopen the 2nd ASB instead of raising a 3rd one...so it looks as though this person has only 1 ASB at their new address. Very clever of the housing officer to do this...saves her doing any paperwork or going through the tedious and lengthy process of evicting the ASB tenant. So the disabled tenant spends months going downhill with their health and eventually they are forced to move out as the harassment continued and escalated and they lose ยฃ1000's in the process due to the amount of money spent on doing up a very dellapidated property and turned it into a love place to live. So the next vulnerable tenant moves in and they become a target for the psycho ASB tenant who has no history of any mental illness but who is just a very nasty piece of work. Accent housing officer denies that there is more than one ASB against this ASB tenant because they very cleverly fudged the paperwork. This HA is the worst of the worst and are well known for the passive aggressive attitude to anyone who makes a complaint and so slow in responding that they will take months and months before anything is done...as for their records and paper trails...well they conveniently lose all records if it suits their agenda at any given time.

One of the best housing associations I have ever met. Happy to help, willing to listen, always ready to help and understand situations you are in provided you try and help too. They take care of the property you are in and like to improve them. Well recommend!

I would out minus 5 if an option. I've had a hole in my roof since January 2023, I still have a hole in my roof 11months later , which leaks whenever it rains and now have mould growing. Accent have done very little to resolve this issue, or show any empathy towards this. Providing false dates and constantly moving goal posts on repairs to be done. I see others have had the same issues. Utterly disgusted with this company.

Accent Housing @AccentHousing Thornville Court. BD8 7AZ This place is looking like a run down dump! (Once upon a time this was a nice place to live) Our housing officer should be ashamed. From doors that don't lock shut (been out a dozen times but unable to fix).over grown trees & gardens full of weeds. (I have to have my lights on even in the day because of the trees been overgrown). Missing lids on bins (the rats love this!) Broken unusable bin FULL of rubbish(bins been like this for months). Clothes drying area broken glass & rubbish on ground(often has furniture dumped, furniture been moved but not swept). Paths & outdoor steps not been swept in months. These matters have been reported several times over the months. Im still waiting from January for somebody to come and assess the black mould and cracked ceilings in my flat due to a water leak from the flat above me.

Unfortunately they don't have a minus. This firm is absolutely atrocious. My son has rented from them for years, now he's has a hole in his roof ,his loft is over run with squirrels, who have damaged electrics, so now he has no working light sockets, water coming in through the roof and light fittings.so Accent had them disconnected. The electrician can't fix it till the roof is fixed. It's a joke of a company who don't care about tenants at all.
