Pictureville Cinema at National Science and Media Museum

Movie theater

👍👍 Saw Lord of the Rings Extended Editions triple showing overnight. Organisers were obviously very enthusiastic and loving showing people what they have. Admittedly this is not part of a normal experience so.... Good bar, snacks and drinks range. Cinema is amazing, comfy, enough leg room, and no visu... The facilities (I attended the IMAX on the occasion) are superb. The staff, some of whom I recognise from many years ago, are delightful and helpful and patient. My companion and I always watch the end credits of films. So when we left the building 5 minutes after everyone else, the cleaner and duty managers were so polite, chatting with us, at 10pm, as if they didn't have any wish to leave. When of course they wanted to lock up and go home. So professional.

Saw Lord of the Rings Extended Editions triple showing overnight. Organisers were obviously very enthusiastic and loving showing people what they have. Admittedly this is not part of a normal experience so.... Good bar, snacks and drinks range. Cinema is amazing, comfy, enough leg room, and no visual obstruction. If I was comfy and happy for 12 hours then a normal film will be amazing. 🤣

Always excellent - small, intimate cinema. Very much under-rated and under-supported. Great variety of films. Good prices.

A nice atmosphere to watch a film but unfortunately the seats weren't particularly comfortable which spoilt the experience

Went to see Reality Winner. Really engaging and interesting film about FBI interrogation of someone facing a moral dilemma. Glad Pictureville shows such important films.

Great cinema. Comfortable seats refreshments and sweets available. Also has a cafe area. I visited on Wednesday evening to see Belfast. Cinema about quarter full. This is busiest I've seen it since covid hit us. Support your cinema. Use it or lose it.

Good quality cinema with varied and unique showings, friendly staff, only downside is the older seats and lack of leg room.

Took my children to see a film which they really enjoyed. The sound quality was really great and the screen is really huge. The prices were a really good deal. I will be revisiting soon. Would recommend.

Very friendly staff. Pleasantly decorated. Well equipped with good (not outstanding) sound and excellent image quality. Excellent selection of new and old films. Competitive pricing across all offerings.

The cinema itself is small but pretty comfortable, and the viewing experience is good. The staff are lovely and polite, which left a great impression. Definitely my favourite cinema in the area

Hidden away next to the Media Museum cracking cinema with a nice curved auditorium. The only downside for me was the seats were very low and not very comfortable after 2 hours.

Absolutely my favourite cinema! Excellent projection and sound. Easy to book specific seats online or in person and very good prices. Great seats - always a good audience and atmosphere too. Comfy bar with hot and cold drinks and snacks. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful staff. Clean and tidy throughout. Plus it's the world's only Cinerama screen! World class events often hosted here.

Pleasant and comfortable cinema attached to the photography museum in Bradford. Short walk from interchange. Good for art and old films of interest. Last couple of weeks they were showing CE3K and Forbidden Planet, great on a big screen

Just been to the fabulous imax cinema. Highly recommended but be very wary of the extortionate confectionery price. £8 for two small packets of Revels hence the 3 stars.

It's so great to be able to see great independent films here in Bradford in such a high quality setting with very friendly staff. Use it don't lose it.

Came to see Jody Comer in Prima Facie here, never knew this cinema existed before. Tickets were slightly expensive (£15 each), but the cinema was OK.

The seats are not as luxurious as specified better to go for normal seats. The screen feels a lot close to even from the 2nd last row but yes the quality of the movie was excellent using the 3d glass in IMAX.

Bradford is proud to have the media museum at it's heart. A real gem and a fantastic day out discovering and learning. I've spent countless hours here watching archive stuff and at various events and festivals over the years. It's a great place. Go to it, tell people about it and support it by using it and watching fantastic films here at the Pictureville or Imax.

I booked seats too close to the front but the staff were more than happy to change them for other seats. 👍

Visited here for a talk from Dom Joly about the Downhill Hiking Club book. His film about his journey across Lebanon was fab as was the discussion afterwards. The screen was great in the cinema. The seating was comfy in the cinema, there was plenty of space and a bar where you could buy drinks and snacks.

Comfortable cinema. Excellent value. Good film. No flavoured popcorn anymore 😫. Nice coffee from the museum cafe. It was obvious that the box office software still has glitches after 10 days in operation but I have confidence that the process will improve. I wouldn't go anywhere else unless forced but they do the best independent films not shown anywhere else and certainly not for the same price

First visit and brought back nostalgic memories of ABC cinema that used to be in Bradford. Will definitely visit again

This is the place to go and see Film as it should be seen! A Stunning IMAX Screen with the best picture detail and floor rumbling sound in the UK, yes better than the Odeon IMAX BFI in London. Plus 2 more screens with one 3-strip wide Cinerama compatible. Not forgetting the Kind and Welcoming Staff (Sue+Sue) who make the Science and Media Museum a real joy to visit. Highly Recommended!!
