Rowlands Pharmacy Bradford Royal Infirmary

Pharmacy

😠 No stars at all for this terrible pharmacy. Obviously when you get a hospital prescription you have no choice but to get the prescription from there and unfortunately I've had to use them nearly every week for about 8 weeks. Each time the wait in the queue is atrocious, usually around 40 minutes. Ea... People often mention prescription, wait, time, long, told, hospital, pharmacy, minutes, staff, people,

No stars at all for this terrible pharmacy. Obviously when you get a hospital prescription you have no choice but to get the prescription from there and unfortunately I've had to use them nearly every week for about 8 weeks. Each time the wait in the queue is atrocious, usually around 40 minutes. Each time there's 3-4 members of staff. When you get to the front of the queue, EVERY SINGLE TIME they will tell you it's a very long wait, this has been 1 hour to 3 hours. There's no sign anywhere telling you this so you can make the decision to queue or not, there's no member of staff giving the odd shout-out that this might be the case, no every time you have to queue first. And best of all, if you go any time after 345, they'll tell you to go back the next day as it's too close to their closing time (which is still hours away but they're that slow). I don't know why Rowlands keep their name attached to this.

Try to get through on the phone Saturday morning nobody answered . So had to assume i could collect my prescription. When I arrived at exactly 1.25. The shutters were down . I had just travelled 25 mins and closing time should be 1.30 . I wonder if the cctv would catch them closing early? And how long had it been shut before I arrived??. Looking at the reviews how are these people getting away with it. .@Rowlands have you any interest in honouring your opening hours ? What sort of service are you running here ? Can I just shut when I feel like it and still get paid??@Rowlands Sort this out please...and honour your contracted hours ...not too much to ask is it ???

Absolutely terrible service. Didn't have the full amount of tablets for the prescription. Said that they would call the next day when they get the rest of the tablets in. No call so I called the day after and they said that they are just working on the prescription. Made every excuse under the sun about why they couldn't deliver till Monday. I am too ill to pick them up so said deliver them on Monday. Called now and they said that the driver has gone and they have not given him my prescribed so the realist I will get them now it's Tuesday. I have now ran out of tablets so cannot finish the course of antibiotics. It is scandalous that they have the monopoly and provide such disgusting health threatening service. The worst thing is they will get away with it.

Said opened at 8.30! After a long night caring for an ill family member! They were shut! I had plans for the day, work commitments! Ruined!!!! Just careless! Passed from pillow to post in the hospital! Discharge advice shocking!

Pointless giving a review it seems as everyone saying same thing extremely slow and not enough staff for a hospital pharmacy. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

Charged me NHS prescription (£9.35) for eye drops that are readily available for £2-3 yet didn't bother to tell me, most other pharmacies have told me if something i have been given is cheaper just to buy outright (That's how i found out) They aren't the quickest either, but given the location its understandable that its extremely busy for them so this is understandable, but at least have ethical practises, especially when people are trying to save every penny this time of the year.

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to, they know you have no choice but to go here as you can only get you hospital prescription for here. So they exploit this by working at snails pace and making you wait an hour just for your medicine and it’s not a one off as every time I have been here it’s the same wait time. What a joke, it’s like they take satisfaction in making patients wait

Visited the doctor at the hospital who was prompt and professional. Was advised 20/25 minute wait for the prescribed medicines. Took an hour and they did not have them all and would have to return. Informed the medicines were ready to collect as they were ready. Called to collect and had to wait 20 minutes as they could not locate them. Wish it could have been 0 stars.

Came to collect my daughter's prescription, which was sent down to them internally 6 days ago. I was the only one in the queue and 1 other person waiting. The prescription wasn't ready. I asked how long he said 10 minutes. 30 minutes later I asked how long to be told not long. Nearly 1 hour later before I went up again and asked to be told just waiting for labels to be put on them. Fella that came after me and was told 15 minutes got his prescription before me and I'd being waiting 30 minutes at this stage. How does that happen. Absolutely shocking. Wouldn't mind don't even get a choice of which pharmacy I use. It has to be this one. I collect my daughters prescription every 3 months. It happened the 1st time and I just presumed staff shortage but this time there was ample staff there.

Slowest pharmacy ever. Came when it was really quiet to try and avoid having to wait but was still waiting 40 minutes. How long does it take to pick a box from a shelf and put a sticker on it? Staff have no urgency whatsoever.

Very slow very long waits should have more staff working to get through the patients. Queued for over 30 mins to just advise I have a prescription. Then nearly 2 hours to get it. The lad at the till was nice and poor guy bless him was rushed off his feet. They seriously need to improve this as after being in A&E for 15 hours then having to wait a further 2.5 hours to get the prescription is unfair. Wasn’t just me also a good 15-20 in the same position as me! Seriously needs restructuring.

Horrible service ever. Kept me waiting for 40 minutes although i told them that my son was in the hospital whole night and he just got discharged so he needs rest nd medicine. We cant wait soo long. Still they said we cannot do anything, you have to wait. After 40mins the guy said one of the medicine is out of stock nd you have to come back again to pick up. Honestly i have never experienced such poor service before.

I Was told my prescription was ready to pick up,I was in severe pain, the lady attempting to write my prescription was nice, but the last thing I cared about in the state I was in was courteous and apologetic people. Because of her I got sent back and forth between the chemist and the hospital to sort out the prescription for the tablets, they complained numerous times that the nurse hadn’t written the prescription correctly and couldn’t prescribe me the tablets as they where a class b drug, which ended up with me returning over 5 times while I was struggling to walk and breathe. Even other patients noticed and were very sympathetic towards me and also frustrated as they were receiving the same treatment. The irony is that it took a patient (a lady who was in the same boat as me) to correct a doctor on how to write up the prescription. And even better, when the prescription had been written up properly they told they were out of tablets and I’d have to return by Monday which was two days away. Thank god for the nurse with the blonde hair catching me before I called 111 otherwise I know for a fact I would have been left in that horrible state if not for her eventually managing to emergency prescribe some tablets for me. Summarised: Nice doctors terrible chemist and service

Live other side of Bradford, didn't have medication in, was told to come back to collect later! A pharmacy in an hospital that doesn't have medication on a frequent basis is not fit for purpose as I gather this is a frequent problem.

My son got discharged from the children's ward and we were told that his medicines had been ordered. We were due back in the next day for a blood test and were told our medicines would be ready. Had the blood test and got told to go to the pharmacy for the medicine. Go to the pharmacy expecting the medicines to be ready but, were made to wait a long time in a queue of 15 other people. Why did we have to wait when, the nurse had already ordered these items? Other people are waiting, too.
