The ancient Vakil bazaar (Bazar-e Vakil) lies near the Vakil mosque & is the finest bazaar of Shiraz, Iran. It consists of a series of vaulted brick avenues with courtyards, caravanserais, bath houses, & old shops. The Vakil bazaar is full of shops selling handicrafts, Persian rugs, carpets, scarves, spices & many other things. Bargaining is must if you want to buy rugs, carpets, or handicrafts.

Vakil Bazaar used to be the heart of the commercial activity in Shiraz for locals. The place has kept its character as an old market serving the town and its residents. In recent years, most of the shops have been converted to stores which are appealing for tourists and less snd less people go there for their daily needs. Irrespective of this, the place will take your attention and you can easily spend a few hours there. The shops are somehow overpriced, especially for tourists.

If you want to enjoy bazaar surfing and buying traditional handicrafts and great spices, Vakil bazaar is one of the best places. The eye catching architecture may also be interesting for lovers of monuments.

I would suggest this is one of the most beautiful and interesting Bazaars in Iran. Not as big as the ones in Tehran and Tabriz. But many cute stuff and delicate collections that you could only find them together here.

Old traditional market dating hundreds of years. Every tourist need to see this Bazaar, where you can find all sort of goods such as carpets, clothes, hand made crafts, spices etc. Outside there are historic religious madressas (schools), restaurants and coffee shops serving hot and cold drinks in addition to traditional ice cream and Falouda, which is Shiraz famous for

A typical Iranian bazaar centered around a caravanserai that was a place built for merchants travelling by camels in the past. There is a fountain in the centre, surrounded by two-storey guest houses built in stones. Now these old guest houses are used as stores selling antiques, jewellery, handicrafts, dried fruits and a wide variety of local products. Crowded with tourists, undoubtedly, it is a good place for buying souvenirs.

It's one of the most stunning historical bazaars which is still super active and vibrant. It is immaculate. You can find different kinds of local handcrafts such as hand woven rugs, copper decorations, silver jewelry, termeh, and so on. This year (2022), what added to its glamour was that you could see some Iranian women do not wear the mandatory hijab or head coverings in spite of the regime's dictatorial rules. Hope that very soon Iranians experience the true taste of freedom.

Vakil Bazaar in Shiraz is one of the most famous traditional and historical markets in Iran. This market, which was built by the order of Karim Khan Zand, is now located in the center of the city and is considered one of the must-see places in Shiraz. Vakil mosque and historic bath are also located next to this market. Few people experience a trip to Shiraz in their life without visiting Vakil Bazaar In the past, all commercial activities, buying and selling of domestic and foreign goods and exchanges were all done in the cells of this market. In fact, at that time Vakil Bazaar was like the real heart of Shiraz, where all business affairs took place. Vakil Bazaar has been registered in the national register under the number 924 of the country's historical monuments Vakil Shiraz market is now a place to sell various Iranian and imported goods. The most prominent products that are sold there are all kinds of Iranian hand-woven and machine-woven carpets, cloth and traditional ornaments. In fact, most of the main parts of the market today are in the possession of carpet sellers and fabric sellers. Sarai Moshir is also one of the parts of the market that should not be missed; In addition to the beautiful architecture of this part of the market, you can buy all kinds of handicrafts and traditional Iranian ornaments with good quality from this part of the market Usually, the bazaar shops start their work from 9 in the morning and in the first half of the year they operate until around 10 at night and in the seasons of the second half of the year until around 7 at night. Also, some shops may not be open on Fridays.

Walking down this Bazar will fill you nostril with the aroma of spices and herbs! The sight of Termeh and carpets in small shops will take you back to the time, where caravans delivered the goods!

As a visitor. Iran is special and beautiful. The market is amazing. My favourite is the jewellry. But there are so many different things to see that the choice is too much. Amazing colours and displays of spices and fruit. And I love the bartering. Beauticul experience.

Vakil Bazaar or Vakil al-Raaya is one of the most famous traditional and historical markets in Iran. This bazaar, which was built by the order of Karim Khan Zand, is now located in the center of Shiraz city (east of Shahradari square). The building of Vakil bazaar started in 1137 and its development and completion lasted until 1156. This work was registered as one of Iran's national works on July 17, 1351 with registration number 924.

Everything a tourist could want from Bazaar. Hundreds of independent traders selling a wide range of wares from Persian carpets, antiques, local crafts, Spices..... Set in a warren of vaulted alleys. The whole place is bussling but not pushy.

A good bazaar in the heart of Shiraz This is a solid bazaar from the Zand era that stretches quite a distance and is full of bustling shops and stalls. It is smaller than the bazaars of Isfahan, but very enjoyable.
