Khandoba Mandir is a peaceful place for Devotees. My Granny told me to visit khandoba Mandir before Baba Darshan. Hence, worship Khandoba before Baba Darshan. Khandoba Mandir is located opposite to Shirdi Bus stand or cross the road from gate 4 and turn left and then head for 100 metres. You can see the temple under Banyan tree. According to the panditji, he told me that khandoba is nothing but Veera bhadra Swami. He is Kula daivam of Sai and Maharastra. Mahalsapati was the panditji of Khandoba at the times of Sai. He used to worship khandoba in the past. He called the 16 year old boy , "Idhar aa Sai". Then onwards he is been addressed as 🕉️SAI🕉️. The khandoba sculpture is looking good. Along with Khandoba, Baba, Lord Shiva, Mahalsapati and other Goddess Sculptures are there as you can see in the pictures. Overall, experience is wonderful.

Khandoba Mandir is situated on the main road. In front of this temple Baba was welcomed by Poojari Mhalsapati, of this temple, who said "Aao Sai", when Baba stepped in Shridi. In this temple there are icons of Khandoba, Banai and Mhalsai. Lord Khandoba was tutelary deity of Mhlasapti, who was priest of Khandoba temple by heredity and he was then responsible for starting worship of Sai Baba. Khandoba temple is well maintained, neat and calm place. It is 15 ft long and 15 ft in breath commemorated with a small shrine and Padukas as its base. A stone idol of Lord Khandoba is located in central shrine of the temple. Also idols of Lord Sai Baba and Mhlasapti are inscribed as a remembrance of event of Lord Baba coming to Shirdi. When it comes to daily rituals now, two artis at 12 noon and 6:00 PM are performed daily

Holly place for Hindu devotees. GOD SHREE KHANDOBA is worshipped as image of lord Shiva in the form of Bhairav. The turmeric (yellow) colour is the symbol for worship.

Khandoba Mandir Shirdi Khandoba Mandir is situated on the main road. Khandoba temple which had its origin about 500 years ago was but natural rural and simple. It did not even had a door. There is large banyan tree where Sai Baba alighted with marriage party of Chand Patil at the entrance of Khandoba temple and it stands today also. Having felt calmness and peace at this place, Lord Sai Baba first decided to make this temple His residence, but Bhagat Mhlasapati thought Him to be Muslim and did not allow Him to stay there. Baba said to him while leaving, "If you do not wish that I should stay here, I will go away". Thenafter, Baba made an old dilapidated mosque of Shirdi His residence and lived there till His last breath. Khandoba temple holds importance in other way too. Sai Baba asked Upasani Maharaj, a staunch and prominent devotee, to stay at this temple for four years for his spiritual upliftment . When it comes to daily rituals now, two artis at 12 noon and 6:00 PM are performed daily.

900 years old temple. They have started renovating it. This place is in Neem Gaon where Sai Baba first visited. So there is another temple just 500m away which one can visit.

Was thinking of visiting Khandoba Mandir at Shirdi since long as I had heard about this old temple in various books. At last I could make it. Aarati was going on when I visited. It was an Thursday and an auspicious day. The temple is simple but quite peaceful and the one with faith would definitely feel divinity in its premise. Those visiting Shirdi should take the darshan of Khandoba too.

It’s a wonderful and peaceful mandir which is located diagonally opposite to Gate 4. It is mentioned in Sai Satcharitra that Baba always told his devotees to visit this Mandir when they came to see him. It is a small Mandir. Darshan takes hardly 5 to ten minutes when not crowded.

Shri Khandoba ji is incarnation of Lord Shiva and Gram devta of Shirdi. In this temple Mhalsapati ji was priest when Sai Baba came to Shirdi and met Mhalsapati ji who called him saying "Ya Sai" means aao Sai. That's how our Sai Baba got the name Sai. A must visit for every Sai devotee coming to Shirdi.

Before having Baba's darshan at Samadhi Mandir, everyone has to visit this grama devatha temple i.e., Khandoba Mandir. Shirdi Sai Baba first time visited this temple and there he was called as "Aao Sai" by then priest Mahalsapati. Since then He was named as Saibaba. A must visit temple in Shirdi.

This temple is historic, in the sense; this was the place where Mahalsapati & Sri Sai Baba(who first entered Shirdi) had met each other. 'Ao Sai' was a greeting to Sai Baba by Mahalsapati. This is how Sai Baba got his name as SAI. Mahalsapati was a saint at Khandoba temple.

A very peaceful place. Khandoba Mandir is very ancient and belongs to time period of sai Baba. Khandoba is LORD SHIVA. This is the place where sai Baba first appeared in shirdi under a tree and the priest of this Mandir called him AAO SAI (YOU ARE WELCOME SAI). This gave the name to him forever owning the heart of millions of Indians by the name SAI BABA! Its very near to main SAI SAMADHI MANDIR of shirdi. Must visit the place to feel serenity!
