This restaurant was just delightful and I cannot wait to visit again! My sister and I visited Shop 225 after we were recommended by a friend who has Coeliac Disease. This beautiful restaurant is not only accredited with Coeliac Australia, however, every single item on their menu can be made to be Vegan, Gluten Free or BOTH! We were greeted by such beautiful staff and were checked on multiple occasions throughout the duration of our meal. They have a beautiful courtyard out the back of the restaurant filled with aesthetic tables, pretty plants and gorgeous lights to make the dining experience even more enjoyable. We tried the Radicchio Salad and Arancini for Entrees as recommended by the owner. We had never had Radicchio salad before and we think it will be our new go to - IT WAS DELICIOUS! We than had the Caprese Salad, Zio Pino Pizza and Gnocchi Sorrentina for mains. Each dish was so full of authentic Italian flavours!!! Make sure you book this restaurant before dining - we came on a Monday night and it was a full house. This speaks for how yummy the food is itself! Thank you for the beautiful experience Shop 225. We can't wait to come back :)

I recently ordered a takeaway meal from Shop 225 and, unfortunately, it left me feeling underwhelmed. I had high hopes, but the experience did not meet my expectations. I had ordered the gluten-free Carbonara, and it was far from what I expected. The gnocchi in the Carbonara were disappointingly soggy, lacking the desired texture that would have elevated the dish. The sauce, which is supposed to be creamy and indulgent, resembled scrambled eggs more than the rich Carbonara sauce I was hoping for. This was a major letdown, as the heart of a Carbonara lies in its velvety sauce. To add to the disappointment, the Guanciale (an essential ingredient in a traditional Carbonara) was dry and overcooked, further detracting from the overall experience. The dish lacked the harmonious blend of flavors I associate with a well-prepared Carbonara. Another issue was the uneven distribution of pepper on top of the dish. It seemed as if the pepper was carelessly clumped in one corner, disrupting the taste balance and making some bites overwhelmingly peppery while others lacked any seasoning. I also ordered a pizza and Cannelloni alongside the Carbonara. While they were decent in taste, they were nothing exceptional, especially considering the price I paid for the entire meal. Overall, my takeaway experience from Shop 225 was not what I had hoped for. The gluten-free Carbonara, which I was particularly excited about, fell short of delivering an authentic and satisfying taste. The pizza and Cannelloni were average at best, but they did little to compensate for the disappointment I felt with the Carbonara. While I understand that takeaway meals can sometimes differ from dining in at a restaurant, I was still expecting a higher level of quality, especially considering the reputation of Shop 225. Sadly, I cannot say that I would recommend their takeaway offerings based on my experience.

I never leave reviews but this was by far the worst carbonara we have ever had. The pizza was good but was told Takeaway would be 20 minutes and waited for 45.

The food came out before I could blink! Cooked so quick! Service was great, the nice lady corrected all my Italian pronunciation. Salads kinda small tho. Good for vegan and veggies. Even my brother thought it was real meat. What a fool! 😂😂🤣🤣

This place is a total hidden gem!!!! No doubt, this is my top 1 favourite wood-fire pizza . Dough is soft and chewy, toppings are fresh and loaded. We got two pizzas: SOFIA is a must get! The truffle oil brings out the aroma of the mushroom cream and honestly I could eat two more of this. It is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten in my entire life no joke. We also got the lasagna (loaded with fillings, cream and sauce, the sheets are so soft that you can’t taste them!) and also the pasta which was on the specials board (it has broccoli, calamari and fish roe). Sooooo good 😍 Tiramisu was soft and moist. Everything here was out of the world brillliant, the service was excellent as well. Will definitely recommend this place to all my friends and family

Great quality gluten free pizza, cooked in a wood fire oven. Always enjoyable and worth the extra cost. This is more traditional style pizza, not the “Australian” version of pizza that is drowned in toppings. So if that is the kind of pizza you like, then this place is not for you.

Their carbonara is hands down the most authentic and best in melbourne ! If you’re a sweet tooth don’t forget to try their tiramisu! You’ll get lost in that ! What a beautiful family owned business. Specially perfect for halal customers and gluten free people

Food is absolutely wonderful, special i would say. We ordered 3 pasta’s and 3 pizza’s plus a salad and a party of 5 shared the meal. Pizza crust was soft and tasted incredible, the pasta was also amazing. Reservations are essential as its a small restaurant and very busy, a must try if you like italian food. The desert was also excellent!

I have had this on my list of places to go for years. It was amazing! So much variety to serve everyone’s needs. I’m vegan and had a massive selection to choose from. They serve you quickly, and all the wait staff were super friendly. Great atmosphere. Will be going back again!!!

Reasonable topping and I’m sure their regular pizza bases are just fine but the gluten free base was borderline inedible. This option may suit some gluten free eaters but A sludgy chewy base like baked bubble tea pearls isn’t for me.

Dined here for the first time on what you can see in pics and a bowl of chips. Service was friendly. Food tasty, but a little too heavy on the pocket. Gluten free options are good for those in need.

Terrible food! Possibly ok if you’re a gluten free person but if you’ve eaten great food, then avoid this place at all cost. Small serves, overpriced, slimey sauces, brown desserts with khaki drizzle... desserts should never be khaki! They charge $2 for a slice of bread.

The pizzas here are authentic Italian pizzeria, serving up fresh pizza with delicious toppings/crust. The toppings are fresh, using simple good quality ingredients and not overdoing it. The pizzas are reasonable prices and good value for the quality of pizza served. Only negative is the limited parking you have to park down the main road but still worth the hassle for awesome pizza🍕

We ordered: Margherita Pizza Maialina Pizza Spaghetti Carbonara Tiramisu We love this place; everything we ordered is really good. They have the best wood-fired pizza, with a thin, slightly charred crust that's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, along with a balanced spread of toppings. You can tell they used high-end ingredients. A must-try!!!

11/10!!! I’ve been meaning to visit for a long time and finally made it. The only disappointment was not coming sooner. Excuisite flavours, quality ingredients and the tiramisu is the best I've eaten.

I'm Celiac and have driven from WA to Victoria and this is by far the BEST gluten free pizza I have ever had! I ordered the 2708 and I actually hesitated to eat it because it looked so similar to my husband's 'regular' pizza that I doubted that it was GF, but it was! I was so full at the halfway mark but I really wanted to finish it so we had to get a takeaway container. Being able to enjoy it with a GF beer made it even better and then taking home a GF tiramisu was just the icing on the cake! I can't wait to devour it - once I have room. My husband had a 'normal' margherita (and he's fussy about them) but he really enjoyed it. He couldn't believe how fresh it tasted and how nice and thin the base was. He couldn't fit the last piece so he had to take it home as well. The service here is amazing too!! Such beautiful, genuine and friendly staff. It felt like having dinner at a friend's place. We cannot recommend this place enough! If we lived locally it would be our go-to. Hopefully we make it back while we're visiting Victoria. Thanks so much guys!

I would honestly give an extra star if i could but alas 5 will do. I originally ordered through their online delivery service and we were a bit disappointed in the quality. We contacted through email to provide feedback and were offered our money back in credit. After looking through the reviews we decided to come try dining in and im so glad. The service was top tier, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. The management obviously really cares about the quality of your experience and i appreciate that a lot. Not to mention the variety of vegan options is incredible. Really really glad we were able to give this place another try and i urge everyone to try dining in instead of ordering delivery!! thank you so much for your hospitality guys :)

Mixed bag with the staff, one was fantastic, very attentive, the others were quite aloof but not rude. The food was tasty although the lasagne was very light on the meat between the layers, some had none. Pizzas were delicious and very generous.

Sure, here's a Google food review for Shop 225 in Pascoe Vale: I love Shop225 for their authentic Italian pizza and pasta! my absolute favorite dish at Shop 225 will always be their spaghetti carbonara. It's rich, creamy, and oh-so-delicious. The sauce is made with real eggs and bacon, giving it that perfect smoky flavor. And the pasta is cooked to perfection. They have also won awards for their gluten free pizza 🤗 My only complaint is how it’s a bit far from where I live !!

The service was great and the food was delicious. I read the reviews before coming, and I was wondering if it would live up to expectations, but it definitely did! They have seating at the back, and they happily offered it to us so the kids could be comfortable. Definitely coming here again when visiting Melbourne.

This cozy pizzeria is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, the staff are really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about. The service is quick and efficient. Excellent food, using the best produce. You have to try the Barone pizza 🍕

Legit Napolitano style pizza in Melbourne's north. No need to head in to Carlton for overpriced underwhelming pizzas. These are lmost perfect and reasonably priced too. Small place so during busy periods you might have to wait. But it's worth it.

Excellent food and service. My husband said probably the best pizza he has had, which was gluten free for my intorlances. Shop 225 became the first accredited Gluten Free pizza shop in Australia certified by Coealiac Australia. My father inlaw is a Coealiac but often still gets sick from the fumes of non gluten/dairy free food. This was the first time out in a resturant he was able to enjoy a meal and wasn't sick an hour later. Thank you again Shop 225 for the amazing food.

Loved this little joint! Ticks off any and all dietary requirements (halal, gluten-free, vegetarian) you can think of. Nice for anyone looking for a private space for a small group to chat over delicious food! Having Halal meat options is just the best. Rare to find authentic Italian pasta and pizza that’s halal. Keep up the great work guys! The service was on point, friendly and extremely helpful! :-)

SHOP225 has one of the best pizzas in Melbourne, clean to the palate, delicious, flavourful, and comforting. Their wonderous dough/base is so amazing. I can easily just eat it on its own. For those that refer non-tomato based pizza, then you go to try their sasiccia e friarelli. Their tiramisu and cannoli will be a delight and bring joy to any vegans. Cosy seating with a rather pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend this place.

If you love simple but tasty authentic italian food, Shop 225 is the place. Beautiful place to eat and dine. That night we had both Rigatoni Puttanesca and Mialina Pizza and was amazing! 10 out of 10 for me.

The wafting smell of wood fired pizza @Shop_225 right opposite the tram stop made me place a takeaway order. Il Dottore Pomodoro, fior di latte, home-made calabrian sausage, italian porcini and parsley Delicious pizza, lovely thin base, love the tomato sauce, you can taste the parsley, soft tender mushrooms, excellent flavour. Shame it wasn't all that hot, must have got missed in the flurry of orders coming through despite arriving early. Tiramisu I love tiramisu and this was excellent. Soft, light, creamy, chocolatey, and the coffee hit of soaked sponge fingers. Excellent. #ItalianFood #pizza #woodfiredpizza #ItalianSausage #Pomodoro #tiramisu #sweettooth #dessert #foodie #melbournefood @zomatomelb

What a dream for a vego coeliac!!!!! Lorenzo has made an incredible safe haven for those with allergies. He has gone to such lengths and taken great care so all his customers can enjoy pizza, pasta and more at his wonderful restaurant. He makes vegan cheese from scratch and gluten free pizza dough, pasta, tirimasu and more but also has options for those without allergies so there's something for everyone and no sacrifice on quality or flavor for the people with allergies. It's delicious! The wood oven pizza is something I haven't been able to enjoy until now as a coeliac and they have absolutely nailed the recipe, what a great tasting pizza dough and a fantastic texture! My partner who eats everything said he was very impressed with the GF base too! Everything is heartwarming, delicious, beautifully authentic Italian food and the staff are helpful, kind and friendly. The ingredients are high quality and you can tell as the flavor is exceptional. I couldn't think of a better place to spend the afternoon or evening. I am sad I live in Adelaide because I will not be able to visit often enough but I will be back every chance I have. Highly recommend to anyone.

Incredibly tasty pizzas! Plenty of vegan options! This pizza shop gets busy! And it’s for good reason. Generous toppings, flavoursome food and their pizza bases are perfect! Thanks for the great feed!

  • 5/5 Cláudia B. 1 year ago on Google
This is the best Italian restaurant with the best vegan options! They use their own homemade vegan cheese, which melts perfectly, and most of their menu can be made vegan. And no, it's not by simply removing ingredients like most other restaurants. They actually swap the ingredients so you still get the same value for money. Food is delicious, authentic... Recommend!

Beautiful food made by beautiful people! Seriously, this is the best pizza in Melbourne. We had food allergies in our party so they made sure everything they served was FODMAP-friendly. The chef and staff chatted and joked around with us - what an experience. Can’t recommend this place enough!

You can't go wrong with both pizza and pasta from here. Ordered pizzas Maialina and Bufala my two companions enjoyed very much. Farfalle Vongole was delish which paired well with a glass of Sangiovese. Service is excellent!

First time trying and very happy with everything 😁 Super friendly staff, good atmosphere and great menu of delicious authentic woodfire pizza. Ordered the Diavolo ---with roasted capsicum and chilli oil---and the Sofia special ---a winning combo of mushrooms and truffle oil. Both were loaded with delicious, high quality ingredients and loved the soft fresh fluffy crust! ☺️ a really nice dine in experience!

The food, service and atmosphere at Shop225 is impeccable! My partner and I went on a Saturday night, were seated promptly, served our delicious drinks, entrée and mains, and were cared for throughout the experience. The food (ours was the vegan option) was superb! The sausage used is phenomenal. We will definitely be going back. A word of warning - it's super filling! We couldn't even fit in dessert (though they also look amazing). Go prepared.

Overrated. Decided to try it due to the hype and that's all it was. The pizza was burnt and the ingredients unevenly spread so parts of it were dry. Won't be back.

Normally my favourite pizza joint. Tonight was horrible. Pasta is undercooked. Not as described (without ricotta). Whole dish is cold. Really disappointing for what I just paid. Just overall bad taste. Won't be back. Sorry I know we are in a pandemic but still expect a service.

  • 1/5 Adrian B. 3 years ago on Google
The pizza here is amazing but it's not worth getting Delivered. The pizza was delivered 30 mins late and was so cold I had to reheat it in the oven. Communication on their end was poor and they couldn't even tell me where the delivery driver was. Had we been notified of the delivery being late I would have picked it up myself. I would not order delivery again during Covid-19.

This spot is an absolute dream if you're vegan or vegetarian. They can make nearly every item on the menu free of meat, eggs and dairy yet they taste just as good. I tried the vegan version of the sausage, porcini and parsley pizza which features incredible house-made vegan cheese. I also loved the rigatoni with fried eggplant and salted ricotta as well as the roquette salad. The drinks selection is pretty classic for an Italian restaurant but we'll executed. There are also a range of delicious desserts including a creamy vegan tiramisu. In addition to all the good food, the ambiance is really nice and service is great. If you're planning a visit, be sure to book as this spot fills up fast.

Genuine Italians making great pizzas. The dole is perfect and the mozzarella cheese they use is tasty and all the ingredients are fresh. The only mistake I made was ordering the coffee which wasn’t great, but then I remembered I am at a pizzeria not a coffee shop :p

I am very impressed after our experience tonight. I picked up two gluten/dairy free pizzas on the way home from work. When I got home we realised there was an error with an ingredient missing which we had paid extra for and scarce toppings on the other which we were not satisfied with after paying extra. We called the restaurant. The manager spoke to us directly. He offered to deliver two brand new pizzas within 20 minutes at no extra cost to correct the mistake. We do not live within the delivery zone, but our pizzas were delivered quickly, and two tiramisu were added to the order. Very impressed with how this was managed! Thank you. ?

Fantastic cosy restaurant. The woodfired pizza is one of the best in Melbourne. Everything is done well, the base is incredible (serve it up with some olive oil and I'd be happy) the sauce is light and tasty while the ingredients are good quality and in perfect proportion. Pastas are the same - fresh homemade pastas, flavours simple, fresh and elegant. My wife and I love coming here and we recommend it to friends.

The pastas looked so enticing. Can't wait to go back to savour more of the delicious offerings. Very busy restaurant but so well run, didn't have to wait too long and enjoyed every minute.

Had dinner here with a large group of friends. Customer service was excellent and the staff very attentive. They have great options for both vegan and gluten free requirements, catering for all of the group’s needs. Food was consistently good for everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed the vegan homemade agnolotti of fresh spinach pasta filled with cheese, pesto, pinenuts in a lemon butter sage sauce, just wish there was more of it to eat. Great place to have good quality Italian food.

Food is absolutely incredible every time! Such great quality ingredients, warm and inviting ambience and friendly service! THE BEST pizza dough cooked in a wood-fired oven. I've taken nearly every person I know here for dinner and catchups! My go to's are the Il Dottore and Zio Pino pizzas as well as the radicchio salad. Last night I had the special with pumpkin, whipped goats cheese, caramelised onion and kale.... I wish it was on the permanent menu!!! PRO TIP: DO NOT SKIP THE DESSERT HERE, ESPECIALLY THE TIRAMISU.

This place has raised the bar for pizza in the area since opening some years ago, not least because it offers extensive and truly tasty GF DF (vegan) options. Wood fired oven - yay! But if you prefer your pizza base crunchy and cooked right through, try to go at a quiet time (hard to find as this place is SO popular!) as when they’re busy the pizzas are cooked fast, resulting in some sogginess ?

I never leave reviews but I feel like I have to for this joke of a restaurant... completely ruined my Valentine’s dinner with terrible pizza (burnt, sloppy and awful looking) and a chaotic environment. The music was playing from a small stereo and the chefs were screaming at each other making everything so uncomfortable. I couldn’t even speak to my wife as it was too much to handle. The restaurant was cramped and there were people everywhere bumping into each other. Avoid at ALL costs. I regret bringing my wife here and wasting my money...

Great pizza ? pasta ? place lots of healthy versions of the food. Looks small but lots of seating in the back of the shop. Great restaurant overall good service from experience people on the Italian food. Keep up the good well done.

Our favourite pizza joint! True to Italian heritage, the dough is impeccable and baked in woodfired oven. Oh and the lasagne is also a must try!

The menu options and the fact they can make most dishes vegan is impressive. The pizza here is impeccable. Although it was a busy Saturday night, we got food really fast and felt that the service was up to the mark. The lasagne Bolognese was made vegan and nice too but could have had a bit more flavour. Overall, a lovely place to eat.

Had to ask to make sure my food was gluten free because it did not taste gf at all. It’s amazing and my new pizza place. It’s small so you HAVE to book. Wait staff were so lovely, they seemed comfortable and happy in their job and seemed like bubbly people. Going back often, definitely recommend, prices quite good for quality.

Very delicious authentic Italian food catering to a large group. Gluten free and vegan options were huge and met everyone's dietary requirements. On the other side of the city from us but will definitely come back.
