This is a small but very high quality museum covering both the aircraft built in the area, and police fire and auxiliaries active during the second world war. An area of focus is seaplanes. They have a great collection of historically significant seaplanes.

The true journey of flying boat from the origin to the end...It also shows the war history and many unknown facts and reality of Southampton. I really amazed about this City as it's much more to explore from this museum. Must to visit once with family and children's. It's really a best place which takes you to the root of Southampton city, Flying boat history and about the world war. If you find it really informative just thumbsup plz....

Bigger than expected. Lots to see! Free entry to the Police & Fire museum included too. Can be a bit dark in some places, needs more lights. Also a lot of exhibits are "work in progress".

Simply amazing. So much information and aircraft of great historical value, significance and importance on display, with rich connections to Southampton, birthplace of the Supermarine Spitfire!. A couple of hours went in a blink of an eye. A great place to top up your aviation knowledge or even general knowledge for that matter. Well worth the admission fee. Highly recommended. Ample paid parking available on the main road parallel with the museum.

Absolutely loved it. Very interesting great aircraft exhibits. Good display of firepersons and equipment in a separate section.also a small police section. Trent even opened up the tram shed for me. Result. Everyone was really helpful a number of hands on exhibits as well. In the pipeline a cafe and another undercover area for more aircraft exhibits. Must go back

Great place to visit for a couple of hours. Friendly, knowledgeable staff and really quite reasonable for a family (£20). Loved going onboard the huge boat plane and the services through the ages display was great too. Will return next year as they are improving some areas more. Only thing I'd add would be a cafe.

A fantastic fully accessible museum, staff were really friendly and gave loads of hints and tips. You can go aboard the boat plane and sit in a few planes. Upstairs on the top floor is the Hampshire Police and Fire Service museum as well, all included in the price. We had a fantastic visit.

Decent aviation museum, a lot on display. Very visually pleasing as lots of planes hanging from ceiling. Took about an hour to look around the whole place. Not too big of a place. Tickets were £12 each

Not much to look at from the outside, but once you are inside it's a real treasure trove of aviation history. Great place to go with or without the family. Interactive for all and knowledgeable volunteers. One of the best attractions was sitting inside an old WW1 cockpit.

Fantastic place, worth £12 adult entrance fee. Did not realise I was there for two hours. Would go again. I don’t usually give 5/5 ratings, here it’s an exception. Get a tour of plane of the cockpit . Personal are very knowledgeable

Nice and quiet place, full of avation history and historic planes of southern coast of england. Tourists could go inside the huge “flying boat” which is well preserved and amazing, but the museum in general maybe a bit crowded as many planes fitted in a relatively small area.

Solent Sky is really a wonderful place to be for those who pick special interest in aviation. Even for those who don't but have traveled in the air, I think it will be awesome to have a visit to solent sky. First, the staff I met are all pleasant 😊 and welcoming. Secondly, the exhibitions were great, historic and real. For the first time, I saw the flight deck and aircraft engine. 😆 Moreover, the ambient is very cool and lovely, tidy and creatively designed. It was nice to see the spitfire live. Overall, it's 5 star!

A rich and educational museum of aviation. Although the size of the museum is not large, there are many exhibits and posters with information inside. Mechanics will be especially interested. There is also an exhibit where you can sit in the role of a pilot at the wheel of a fighter jet. And there is also an old, double-decker, charter plane, where you can also go inside

Brilliantly knowledgeable about all the exhibits and really brought the planes to life. I had little interest in it but my partner loves sea planes so we had to go but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Wow what a Fantastic place!!! A real hidden gem in the heart of the city, bringing to light the history of marine aviation in a rich way. Volunteers were friendly and informative- a must visit if you're visiting Southampton and have an interest in aviation/marine or war time economic developments.

This is a great museum tucked away near the Itchen toll bridge. I There's a great selection of aircraft, interesting local history and a sizeable police and fire section. The staff were certainly knowledgeable. We spent about 3 hours here so there's plenty to see.

We had a great time. There are so many interesting planes and they have laid out the information in an interesting/ informative way. You can even go inside a Beach Comber plane. There is a lot of local history and it was fascinating to learn about Southampton in ww2 times. The police and fire section are great too. You get to see an old police telephone box and the uniforms throughout the years. The staff are really helpful and friendly and have lots of knowledge. One let us go into the cockpit of the beach comber. Another took the time to get me information on how to get my dad and grandads military service records to find out where exactly they'd served.

Amazing museum with lots of interactions, even a cinema with a selection of titles for your own choice! Guides were friendly and approachable. So much to see about ww plane replicas, police, firemen, Southampton history, few set ups like an old bar, little air raid shelter and much more! It's a must see and great place to support😊

👍👍 Very nice little park for walking and enjoying the whether. It also has a playground for little ones and toddles with lots of activities. There is a coffeeshop but sadly it closes very early. The field is convenient for ball sports. Also, there are many picnic tables. It is really good park.
