This surgery is AWFUL. Myself and my partner joined about 6-8 months ago after moving to the area from elsewhere in Birmingham. Luckily I haven't had to use them for anything serious, but my partner has. You call up and either can't get through because there are too many people in the queue and it cuts you off, or you're looking at being in a queue of close to 30 people. They aren't seeing patients in person, so all appointments take place over the phone on the very odd occasion that you can actually get one. 99% of the time they tell you they're fully booked and to go to A+E or the drop in centre. So they don't want to take the risk of catching covid themselves by having patients in the surgery, but they're quite happy to palm that risk off on the poor hospital and emergency care services. Absolutely disgusting. I understand the NHS is very busy and under immense pressure, but why are you doubling up appointments by doing phone appointments and then having to have people come in when it's clear they needed to be seen in the first place? Everything else has been operating as normal for months now, why aren't doctors surgeries that are supposed to be looking after our care doing the same? The receptionists do not care at all, which I can understand when they are probably yelled at all day as the doctors can't be bothered to see the patients they're dealing with. The only person I have EVER dealt with at the surgery who was even remotely nice is a lady called Ann, everyone else has been rude, unhelpful, dismissive and I really don't understand how this place is still allowed to operate. A complaint to the NHS trust WILL be being made.

Worst practice in the area for sure. Impossible to get an appointment even when you call at 8:30am - by the time your call is answered, they’re booked for the day. Outdated systems: unable to book an appointment online - was only able to book once (access restricted afterwards, hence need to call). There is also no call back service provided at this practice - you cannot request them to call you back by filling out a form through their website if you are unable to get booked in the traditional way by calling the reception. Also, they make you request your blood test results, hence they won’t be sent over to you by text/email unless you have requested them. This process does not make sense at all - why would I be doing the test in the first place if I am not interested in finding out the result? Also, if you do request to see the results, you will only be able to pick them up at the reception after 4 weeks which I think is ridiculous process itself. In my previous practice, I would frequently receive the results the following day and by TEXT. Not to mention, the receptionists are very rude and make you feel like you are bothering them each time you approach them. Would not recommend this practice at all.

Perhaps the most disorganised and unresponsive doctors surgery in the world. Impossible to get hold of anyone, cannot help you with anything you need. Sit in a huge queue for you to get cut off several times, when you finally get through you can’t get an appointment despite A&E referring a follow up with my GP because you have called too late? Can’t get a doctor to write you a note to sign you off of work over the phone you have to attend the practice. When you do attend the practice they close early and sod off home. God forbid you need anything serious! Time to transfer surgeries, in 5 years I have never had anything dealt with properly, I am fed up of trying now…

Just a one off appointment at this centre. Sat in the reception, the service is pretty horrendous. The reception staff chatting away to another member of staff. I waited a while before being attended to and even then, it was the most careless attention, no help provided to deduce where I'm going. Another patient a little later also having to wait a while before being attended to by reception. It's not busy, it is deserted, service should have been prompt really. Incredibly poor service delivered by first point of contact - front of house member of staff. The appointment itself was fine, professional, not much information was given in terms of results, just a wham, bam, thank you ma'am, but that could be because it needs to be delivered via my doctors maybe.

It doesn't even deserve 1 stars. The reception staff are utterly useless and rude. Called at 8.30, number 30 in line, by the time got through, no appointment Called a different day, no appointment, was told, make online appointment instead Made online login on NHS, went to make appointment, said the surgery had shut the service as it reached capacity for the day. Went to A and E and out of hours doctors on 2 occasions because of the pain and no help from GP Doctors at hospital prescribed something that worked, now im running out and cant even get an appointment!!!!!!!!!! The ONE appointment I did get at the start of this ordeal was with a doctor who prescribed something which is no longer stocked, and according to two doctors I had seen, one out of hours and one in hospital, a total waste and a wrong diagnosis. The GP also did not even do a hospital refferal as she was suppose to do, and since then I have been trying to make an appointment with no luck. The practice manager needs to fix the system, as this is ridiculous. And retrain your reception staff. They are here to help, so why do they talk with such aggressive attitudes when all you are asking for is for them to do the job they are being paid for. You have no appointments, fine, but do not be rude and disrespectful about it, and tell me to try things I have already done. Honestly people are fed up of the way receptionist behave

Impossible to book an appointment. You ring as soon as it is 8.30am - the number of callers has reached its max capacity, try again later. I tried ringing every couple of minutes - same thing. Finally, after 9am I got through: number 39 in the queue. Waited just to be told that they have no appointments. I tried to explain to the receptionist that I work and need to take time off to attend an appointment but she could not care less. I asked if I can book one in a week, 2 weeks time - they have no appointments. I felt like she wouldn’t even let me speak and wanted to get me off the phone as soon as possible. Been told to call in a couple of days, meaning I have to take another day off in case I am able to get an appointment. This is ridiculous.

..absolutely appalling receptionists. You call at 8:30 to wait forever for an appointment to finally get through & be told none available. They should have a separate line for appointments only & general enquiries not the same line as it makes you wait even longer.. they have enough receptionist, as when you finally get into surgery there’s 3/4 at the desk.. why you need that many. They are rude & uncaring. Phone 111 an amazingly I get a slot for a call back 🙄. But not like this review or any other will be seen & addressed.

everyone at that surgery still living in 2020 and working from home, while the whole world has gone back to normal , when you call this surgery the first 3 minutes they play the message about it is covid and why everyone is chilling at home and why shouldn't you be calling this surgery. Then you have reached the maximum number of callers and the call drops. the staff and GP taking advantage of the system. When you try and ask a question - the computer says no is the favourite answer and call back again tomorrow !!

Booked in for an appointment - was called 2 hours before hand to say they had to cancel and was given the next day as an option. Already had to take time off work for first and now second appointment. Was told a time but nothing else. Turned up to my appointment nice and early to find their check in system is broken. So I looked at the signs which indicated the appointment I was going to attend was on the ground floor. Advised by reception it would be ground floor or second floor. I sat and waited, no one came to collect me, so 10 mins later I went upstairs to the second floor (First floor clearly labelled as covid vaccines) second floor staff were helpful but didn’t have me in their books, so I went back downstairs and waited. I watched the doctors all leave and rang the practice whilst I was sat in the practice. I missed my appointment which was on the 1st floor! Now I’ve had to reschedule and will be missing more time at work. Very poor service.

Please avoid this GP by all means if you really care about your children and loved ones, we kept calling to get an appointment everyday telling them that our son is sick and needs antibiotics for more than 1 month until he got severely ill and had signs of sepsis, and when one of the GPs saw him, he gave a whole wrong diagnosis and instead of referring our son to A&E urgently he advised us to stay at home for 5 days!!! and said that this is 100% a viral infection while he had a severe bacterial infection and overwhelming sepsis. Our son was intubated on the same day that he was seen by the GP when we took him ourselves to the A&E and waited for long hours until our beloved son PASSED AWAY . Huge HUGE failure and Negligence. legal actions are taken against them .

Queued for 2 hours via call for test results only to be disconnected. Called again only to be placed on hold 6 minutes before the surgery closed. Managed to finally speak to reception who couldn’t give me further information. This has led to having to wait over the weekend to hear the outcome / results with a GP. Horrendous system in place by this surgery - unless it’s simply a short staffing issue. So stressful trying to get any kind of medical attention - either booking an appointment or seeking results! The nurses have been helpful in the past. If staff need more support, stop being tight with budgets and help them in order to help the community.

I do not recommend this medical Practice ,even I leave in the area .You have to call 8:30 to call for making an appiment and then wait in a queue and then when you finally get to talk to receptionist they will tell you there are no more appointments availble or if you are lucky you get a telephone appoment . Covid passed already ,things get back to normal but to pay so high taxes and not to be able to see a doctor or ask for some test in unacceptable. I am really despointed in this medical practice.

They don’t care. They need to be fired.

I called this GP yesterday at 8:30, I had to wait 20min in the line which was actually fast because I was the 37th in the line. I had a problem and I got appointment for that day already. I was able to talk with the Dr. Sara about a blood test as well, she was nice and patient, answered all of my questions very well. So then the receptionist was able to give me appointment for next day already for a blood test. This morning I had an appointment in the room 102 at 8:45. I forgot the lady’s name who took the blood from me. But I was really appreciate her patience and kindness. Also I felt safe with her. She was very empathetic.

This place couldn't organise a panic in a plane crash, rude staff and passed the buck by yet again handing responsibility to another service. No wonder 111 and A&E are stretched by the jobsworth of a receptionist. Well done for creating a situation that was unnecessary. The managers need to look at the the problem of a receptionist with no professionalism. The one star is generous when in really this place deserves 💩💩💩💩💩.

I have tried to book an appointment for weeks. And it just won’t work. You call up and either can't get through because there are too many people in the queue and it cuts you off, or you're looking at being in a queue of close to 30 people. They aren't seeing patients in person, so all appointments take place over the phone on the very odd occasion that you can actually get one. 99% of the time they tell you they're fully booked and you need to call from 8:30 the next day! I don’t understand this at all. When today I can’t book for next week or next month. But tomorrow 8:30 I can? What is the process?

Called up as had a text message that my blood results are back, to be told there are no appointments, I have called too late (blood results to call after 3) and to call at 8.30 am. I advised, I am running out of medication as my request for a repeat had been rejected. Wad told she could book me in for 28th December. I have 5 days of diabetes tablets left. I have been struggling over the last 4 months, to get appointments, doctors not calling when they should and also being misdiagnosed (over the phone without any basic tests carried out) resulting in me attending A&E where the consultant that I saw was not impressed. The practice needs a serious overhaul as it could result in serious consequences into someones health. Working people cannot always call at 8.30 on a morning, and to be told by ghe receptionist that they work too, is down right rude.

Event happened 27/10/2023. Since they wanna delete my review I have no problem re-adding it☺️. “Absolutely atrocious service and disrespectful customer service staff/ nurses. I requested my medical records due to a current Disability I have and need evidence for receiving support. I was told by the woman on the phone I first spoke to call Health Authorities then told to go back to bath row. Long story short my medical records before 2019 were lost and not transported properly. They Misinformed me to the wrong department according to the heal the authorities. The second lady I was speaking to the second time I called was Mel I assume and she was rude and cold. And was not sympathetic to my situation at all and cut the phone on me. I will be making a formal complaint and taking this higher” I have taken this to the Local MP and NHS as the attitudes of these receptionists is consistent. And they’ve also been rude to my mother who was going there throughout the years.

Been contacting this GP since 3 weeks of pregnancy, trying to book for a first scan for my partner. GP said they will refer us to a hospital and have her first scan at around 12 weeks. It is now 15 weeks already, found out GP didn't refer us to any hospital. GP emailed us and ask us to contact the hospital directly. However, when we called the hospital they said we cannot just call them to book an appointment, appointments can only be booked by referral from the GP. Totally disappointed with the "service" at the Bath Row Medical Practice. Staffs just lie about everything such as "we have referred you to the hospital" , but when we call the Hospital, they said they didn't receive any referral from the GP. Everytime when we call, staffs are super unhelpful, not willing to help at all. Will never recommend anyone to have their GP registered in this centre.

Constant admin mistakes, no ownership. Among others: booked a telephone appointment with a medical doctor (still no in person appointments, contrary to other practices) just to be called at a totally different time by a paramedic, who told me that for reasons unbeknownst to her admin had cancelled my appointment with the doctor and redirected me to her. She had to rebook me for the next day. Then again, I asked for a specific medical cetificate which was something the receptionist seemed to find very challenging to arrange, when I collected the certificate it was a completely different one. I did not complain about any of these misadventures, being keen on allawing the benefit of the doubt. Finally, however, I went to the local pharmacy to collect my regular repeat prescription, wich I have been doing regularly, and which is handled by the pahrmacy. I was told by the pharmacist that the practice had rejected the request, again for reasons unknown. No one from the practice had had the thought of informing me in any way or form, even as I had spoken to a doctor just the previous day. I then went to the practice in person, as my medications were running out. The receptionist again looked lost in outer space without any hope of rescue, she said the prescription was requested too early by the pharmacy, that pharmacies are no longer allowed to order for the patient, that she would message a doctor and I should come back later (when? It was already 4.10 p.m.). Needless to say the explanation was totally made up, the pharmacist got on the phone with the practice herself to make things right, with great waste of time, frustration, and no apology. All these things in less than six months, I wonder what is next.

I went to have covit boaster, there is an entrance to the frount and back, they have public toilets. The staff offer you a mask if you feel comfortable with it, you sign an application asking you your address, telephone number, date of birth etc. I went straight into the room. The nurse or Doctor explained things or ask you if you have any questions then they proceed with the injection. They were friendly and professional and the whole procedure didn't last 5 minutes. Your give a card and advised to contact them your local doctor dial for a an ambulance if you feel unwell. I for got to mention there is a car park at the back. And the Health care centre is also on the bus route which is about every 5 minutes.there are also local shops in and around the area.

The receptionist get paid a bonus to be extra rude and nasty! Seems the practice want you to die, theirs never any appointments to be had and when you walk in the surgery the waiting room is empty! This surgery is a scam it just wants to take the money off the government and not provide a service!

The receptionist Bal assisted to get me some help for my elderly mother August 10th 2022. She listen to how desperate I was for help with my mother. Bal didn’t interrupt me she listened even though I was upset she didn’t take anything personally. Bal managed to let the Doctors know what was happening and within 20 minutes received a call letting me know a Doctor would call to see my mother within the hour. Dr Nissan called and was extremely helpful, it’s thanks to her and Bal that the help I have been asking for sometime is starting to take shape. Thank you both for just listening. Bal and Dawn are extremely polite and helpful whenever I call. My mother is particularly very fond of Dawn as she remembers her from the old Coulston Medical Centre where her original doctor was a Dr Morgan.

This medical practice is rubbish with finding appointments. And when you phone the practice your in a stupid queue with horrendous music and when the receptionist does finally answer your told there's no appointments absolutely disgusting fed up with this. The doctors are great don't have a problem with them. And the receptionist need to learn some manners.

Even though its hard getting an appointment, and everything has changed since COVID-19, this is definitely one of the best GP's in the area. I can all the staff is working really hard, the nurses and doctors care about my health and I always leave feeling better. If it was up to me I would never leave this GP

Just spoken with one of their repeat prescription receptionists and it was horrible. The woman was obtuse, supercilious and arrogant, couldn't tell her anything, she spoke to me like a naughty child. This system sucks with no clear parameters or rules and appears to flex in one direction only. At the conclusion of the call I said "I will phone you on the 29th March then" to which this 'lady replied "I hope not" and curtly closed the call. I only wanted to know what date to phone to order my meds and she got all shirty with me, nice 'work' if you can get it. I would complain to the practice manager but he/she/it is uncontactable quelle surprise so the CQC it is then. Their prescription service is dangerous to vulnerable patients and they don't care. God help you if you have the temerity to question anything. The practice itself is generally very good and the main reception staff are friendly and efficient but the prescription 'service' madam needs to be retrained or better still fired so that an interested person can take over. 5 stars for the practice and no stars for the prescription ordering service.
