Well that's a 5 from me. The café I'd hoped to visit was unexpectedly closed and I'd decided to head for home. Passing Tamu something made me walk in. Glad I did - I had the "Spicy Dhurka Beans" - fundamentally comfort food baked beans but so much more. A great mix of textures and tastes. Plenty of butter on the toast. Like the T100, I'll be back. Update December 2023 - I was back. Same high standard. This time I tried "Halloumi Stack" (pictured below) - A work of art. Late afternoon and still more folks in here than any other cafe I passed on the high street.

Love love love! This place! I had the halloumi stack with smoked salmon, it was sooooo good, my daughter had the chai latte ( which is the best she ever had apparently! 😃)and the veggie burger, I had some of the burger which was like a sweet corn fritter, and so good. Portions are healthy, my daughter couldn't finish her fries, I just about finished my meal. Lovely family atmosphere, I have a feeling the shop will need a bigger space soon....

WOW…. The food was horrible (only joking)… fantastic coffee, tea, food, cake and ambience… oh and music (love the Ed Sheeran in the background) It’s got an amazing vibe that can’t be explained… from youngsters to families to friends, it’s got a vibe and charm of its own…. and you wouldn’t expect this in Bearwood. All round experience is more than 5 stars. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Best food in Bearwood. The chef is awesome. I used to live in Bearwood and go once or twice a week. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious, but my personal favourite is the durka beans. Actually sometimes hard to choose what to eat, because it's all do good. Really nice chilled atmosphere too and friendly service.

Nice brunch spot in Smethwick. Great variety of options and good portion sizes with good flavour. Got the French toast, which was good but could've done with more yoghurt/syrup and berry compote and also the sweetcorn fritters which were served with a chilli maple syrup. Hard to find parking.

Was honestly better than it looks... And it looks lovely anyway so it felt like a double win. I ended up ordering a savory brunch but honestly there's a decent variety and everything tasted phenomenal and fresh and balanced. They deserve your money. Service is polite and fast... Wish they opened everyday of the week at this point... Will definitely go back again. . . My friend was pleasantly surprised at how big the portions were and took her food to go in the end. Such a great gem.

Highly recommended that you visit Tamu. Thursday afternoon visit and couldn't have asked for better service. Staff excellent especially the young lady who served us as she was very attentive. Food 5* especially the Halloumi Avo stack and Halloumi flatbread in a comfortable seating area and clean tables too. Probably the best eating venue in Bearwood, quality, service and cleanliness!!

What a gem of a place , all of the flavours worked so well , the food was fresh and well presented. Staff were so friendly and warm, very attentive. Great fresh food , and lovely food for the kids aswell ! It’s no reason not to get 5 star

Great little gem on Smethwick high street. Friendly & patient staff , Chai latte was AMAZING & my food order which was the sweetcorn fritters was SOOOO good I wanted another portion to take home with me. It was so hard to order my meal as everything looked, smelt & sounded amazing. I will 100% return when in the area.

Good little cafe in Bearwood. Food was good but I wouldn’t say it’s worth the money. There’s places in the city centre that cost less for brunch too. Overall, a good cafe.

Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast here, only down side was the hot drinks came out first and the long wait till the breakfast was ready meant ice cold drinks. I did ask if it could be heated/replaced but was told nothing could be done so 4 stars.

Fantastic café, great breakfast/brunch options, friendly staff. Food and portion size is excellent. On weekends there can be a wait for a table, as it's popular. Highly recommend the sweetcorn fritters!

Nice calming spot on the Bearwood high street. Ordered the chai latte which was perfect for a drizzly day. The food looked and smelled good too, shall certainly have to return to try the food!

Really great service staff and chef were really nice food presentation was great too. I tried the veggie and vegan options, I the burger seasoning was great.

We didn't know we had this on our doorstep, such a great little place that serves amazing food. The prices are a little high for the portions, but you feel like you've had a gourmet dish every time. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here.

Came for Sunday breakfast which was amazing quality! (See photos) Very friendly staff & didn’t have to wait long for the food. Only one toilet is a little annoying but apart from that it was a lovely mornings breakfast ☺️

Excellent food. I had the French toast, think it was made with brioche which was lovely. Flat white was creamy and the coffee was smooth, not burnt at all. Staff are friendly and attentive. Only criticism I had was the seating inside, the benches are higher up than the chairs which is a bit mismatched when sitting down. 10/10 for food, would come back.

Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! So tasty, full of flavour and looks as good as it tastes...pure yum. Great for brunch - such a great independent cafe...a jewel in Birmingham!

It's just as good as all the reviews on here say it is. Prices are pretty decent, the service great and the food is incredible, looks and tastes superb. It's a bit cramped when it gets busy, that's about all I can think to whinge about. Really looking forward to going back soon!
