    I came to James as a woman in her early 60s who thought her running days were over because of a slightly arthritic knee. James gave me a programme of exercises, and to cut a long story short I am now able to run 3 times a week, and take part in my local park run, which I love. This is all down to James' belief in my ability to manage my knee, and the support and encouragement, as well as expert treatment, he has given me along the way.

    I came to the recovery room as I had been experiencing inside knee pain when running more than 3km. It was not affected by walking or cycling but as a keen runner it was stopping me doing what I loved. James listened to my concerns and understood how important it was for me to get running again. After 3 fortnightly sessions and following the physio plan James built for me I was able to run 15km without any pain. I wouldn’t hesitate to get back in touch if I was injured again. Thank you

    I would recommend James to anyone (and indeed have!). He listened to my concerns, started a recovery exercise plan straight away, monitored me carefully and really helped me get back to fitness after very debilitating achilles pain which had been going on for some while. Most of all he diagnosed not just the achilles injury but also nerve pain, which led to exercises I still do today. Other physios had failed to spot this.

    James has been a tremendous help in assessing some recurring pain I was having in my knee and recently hip flexor area. It was very painful to run and nothing I was doing helped. Thankfully, I was able to return to running upon following his recommend rehab exercises and continuing to strengthen weak areas at the gym. If you're having chronic pain from sport, James' expertise is gold, I can't recommend The Recovery Room enough!

    James gave me some exercises over a video call to help with my ongoing back and neck issues. I started feeling better in days and able to return to normal activities. His knowledge and patient care is excellent and I highly recommend him.

    James is always very welcoming and takes the time to listen to how injuries occur and where/when pain occurs. Then provides high quality treatment and Rehabiliation to get me back to sport as soon as possible. All rehabilitation is explained clearly and I am always send a rehab plan to follow. A very trustworthy physio

    I have only great words for James. He's been always able to find what the physical problem was and provide the best treatment and plans for recovery. Also, I really like how he builds trust and a good relationship with his patients, so the that experience is great. At least, that's important to me when we need that emotional boost to keep going. Thanks James for everything, I'll keep going to you if I have further physical-related problems.

    James has been a huge help over the last 6 months. I came to him with longstanding issues (several years of pain). I can now run 5k pain free. James has helped me to understand more about my injuries and the exercises he provided me with were easier to follow and keep up than other professionals I have seen in the past. James is very knowledgeable, friendly, and a good listener. I would recommend him in the future.

    James is a thoughtful caring guy and always approachable. After sessions he has always sent my exercise plans promptly and responded promptly to any queries. Most importantly, where I have had injuries his recommendations have always helped! I would highly recommend.

    I came to the Recovery Room for treatment on a knee injury that I received whilst training for a marathon. James helped with this, alongside giving me lots of advice on my running technique to prevent reinjury. I ended up running the marathon quicker than my target time! Excellent experience all round. I highly recommend.

    James has been my life saver this year. I went to him with sciatica, at a very low ebb having had minimal help from the NHS. He completely understood what I was going through. I was in terrible pain and thought I'd never be able to run again. His advice was invaluable and a great source of comfort, and over the months he has guided me back to running. I cannot recommend him highly enough!

    Would highly recommended James, particularly if you're an injured runner. He helped me work through Achilles tendonitis and problematic knees, advised on numerous methods including strengthening, form and training to prevent injury and get me running again!

    I went to James with a pain in my inner leg above my ankle which was all linked to a knee injury I had sustained about 10 years ago. Over several sessions and 4 months, he helped me build strength, become injury free and become a better runner. The majority of my sessions were on zoom due to lockdown and they were brilliant. I still got great treatment and I came on a lot in the 3 months before I actually went to a face to face session in August. The zoom sessions were easy to follow and he could still provide me with exercises to complete. He was able to still assess my progress and I would definitely recommend the zoom sessions if face to face is not available. I will definitely return to James if I ever sustain an injury again - although I hope I don’t! I would highly recommend James. The exercises he provides are unique and he has great knowledge to help with any issues you are having.

    I had a niggling ankle injury that kept flaring up over the last couple of years whenever I tried to increase my mileage and most recently it stopped me from running completely. I saw James for a few f2f sessions and a zoom session (due to lockdown) and the whole service was excellent. James did a thorough assessment taking into account previous injuries and came up with a focused treatment plan, adjusting the exercises as needed and also keeping in mind my running goals. I found his instructions clear and the links to the exercises really helpful. He was always friendly and approachable and I can't fault his support. I am now back running pain-free and stronger.     James has been amazing on getting me back to a level of comfort in my everyday life. I had been suffering for a very long time with my tendon. Following a full assessment James suggested a course of Shockwave Therapy and I feel that I am now on the road to recovery.
