This place is ideal for anyone who considers the owl to be their favorite animal. There are lots of owls to admire and pet, and the customer service is exemplary. My husband and I visited today and we had the best time. The two ladies were phenomenal at facilitating the experience. We selected the drink and dessert option and were promptly taken to a sitting area to enjoy the tasty drinks and desserts. Then, we were taken to the area where the owls hang out. What an amazing experience it was to see and pet the snowy, barn, eagle, screeching, burrowing owls, amongst others. We took lots of pictures and videos, and not once did we feel rushed. On the contrary, we were asked if we wanted to partake in the feeding time, which was a complete delight. This place is a must for owl lovers. We couldn’t have possibly felt happier!

Such a fantastic experience! You can enjoy coffee, teas, or other beverages and desserts, and then you can go to an adjacent room to play with and feed the owls. The hosts are very friendly and speak both English and Japanese, and you can tell they really care about their owls. The owls are well trained and used to people, and they are free flying. The hosts explain how each ones like to be pet and held, and they even know what toys the owls like so that you can play with them. Overall this was an amazing experience and we would definitely go back again! Make sure you make reservations at least a day ahead of time, because spots do fill up!

Such a great cafe! The owls are super cute and you’re allowed to pet them and also feed them if you purchase the food. The staff is so nice, friendly and very interactive. If you’re trying to take a picture with or of and owl they will try to help you get the best picture by getting the owl to look at the camera! They also ask if you would like to participate in some training exercises with the owls. Would highly recommend this place!!

Not bad if you want to play with owls. The cafe itself is very small and I question the cleanliness of eating and drinking in the same areas that owls are flying around - I had assumed the cafe area was separate but there was no real separation. The owls’ room itself was very cramped and quite dirty and I do question the happiness of the owls… but that’s the issue at any animal cafe. The workers were very friendly and attentive and seem to really love the owls and what they do.

Very cosy owl cafe, there are about 20 owls of different species. The owls are very friendly and well taken care. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about owl care and how to make friends approach the owl to petting them safely. It is 2500yen for 1 hour interaction with the owls, including a drink and dessert or souvenirs. Also have a gift shop with many owl accessories! A must visit for any animal and owls lover! 🦉

The owls were soooo cute!!!! I can tell that they are very much loved and cared for. It was clear that the staff do genuinely care for them. They have rest period in between visitor time slots, which shows that the staff do make sure that they don’t get stressed or overwhelmed by the visitors. We had a great time with the owls!

I have been following Owl Village Cafe Harajuku’s instagram for over a year. When Japan reopened to tourists, I finally had the chance to visit this amazing place. The staff were extremely friendly and provided amazing hospitality when I was there. The owls were also very cute and I was able to take pictures with them together, to which I will cherish until I have the opportunity to return. I will definitely revisit whenever I am in Tokyo and also recommend this cafe to anyone who wants to visit 🦉 ありがとうございました!

Amazing place where you can interact with the friendly and beautiful owls!! The staff explain everything wonderfully and this place is English friendly! Incredible experience for any owl lovers or animal lovers in general. Staff were very nice, courteous, and helpful with showing us how to feed the animals and helping take pictures. Be sure to make reservations well in advance!

Definitely the highlight of my trip so far! Staff was so friendly and explained everything very well in English. You could totally tell they love their job. The owls are, by extension, loved very much and really well-cared for. Complimentary food and drink are nice too (you get to choose some waffles and get 2 souvenirs instead of 3. It was yummy!). Loving how they keep guests to a minimum for a reservation slot (I highly recommend you book in advance) so everyone can get plenty of chance to hang out with the owls and they don't get too overwhelmed by too many people. Spica steals the show and also my heart. Keep up the great work! Hope to be back soon!

This is so much fun! It's absolutely amazing to be able to play with these cute owls. The staff know the owls very well and exactly how to pet each one. The owls enjoy the attention given. I wasn't really there for food, not sure you'd want to try to eat around so many owls anyway, but I wasn't expecting a food experience. Expect to play with owls and you will have lots of fun.

I purchased the digital price online first to get a 20% off discount of the course. The staff are very kind and understanding. We were able to change our time slot on the same day and the staff were able to speak Japanese and English, making it very foreigner-friendly. Their explanations and encouragement were very cute and clear about the different owls. All the owls looked and displayed very relaxed attitudes

We went here in April 2019. The staff are friendly and the owls seem to be well taken care of. They rotate which owls you are able to engage with and feed so they can have a break and don't get over fed. They also tell you which owls do not prefer to be touched and of those you can pet they tell you where they prefer to be pet. If you ask you can also hold one of them on your arm with a glove on your hand. We had a blast at this place but it is very small so listen when they ask you to not arrive to early for your time slot.

This was a fantastic experience! This my husband's and my first time in Japan and also to this establishment. I cannot stress how incredibly kind and welcoming the staff were. What was great about the staff was you could tell that they really felt a bond with every single one of the owls and could tell the owls cared for them in return. Normally, I stay away from "animal cafe" types because I've always felt strange about animals being in captivity, but this feels different. They instructed our group on proper ways to handle and pet the owls so we wouldn't hurt them or get hurt ourselves. They also had an option to feed the owls for an additional 500 yen. If possible, take this option as it gives you a closer experience to just how powerful and elegant these birds are. They're all beautiful and clearly well taken care of. We felt a little bad because we think the ladies working assumed we didn't have a good time, but we were trying to be considerate of the families with children who were excited. We still had a beautiful time, we're just incredibly socially awkward, so I think it appeared we didn't have fun. Thank you so much to the ladies who hosted us on New Year's Eve!

Cafe in Harajuku where they keep domesticated owls for show and tell. Cafe is cute and offers coffee and snacks all owl-themed. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable of all things owl, and try their best to get you that great shot. You get to pet owls and have them perch on your arm. Some owls are shy whilst others love being rubbed, all in good fun. 🦉They had a total of 18 owls inside their space, which is tiny, so reservations are recommended.

Visited the owl village on a weekday and it was packed!! We were lucky to get a spot so recommended to make a reservation in advance to secure a spot👍🏻 We enjoyed the staff interaction with the owl and it was an eye opener as well!! The female staff were very friendly and welcoming and they provided a lot of information on each owls and how we can interact safely with them!! This place is also English-friendly as well!! The owls are also very friendly and you can watch them fly around and even receive pats on the head or back!! Thank you for hosting my family and I and we look forward to our next visit to owl village! Gambatte💪🏼💪🏼

Despite some negative comments on animal cruelty, we decided to try out this owl cafe. Couldnt get a booking and decided to try our luck to walk in around 1.45pm, greeted by lovely staff who allowed us in to have a view. She mentioned there is a 2.10 booking that has not confirmed so we could try our luck at 2ish. We went to nearby coffee, came back at 2 and staff told us we got the slot! All of the staff knows every owl inside out, there are methods to pat or touch each owls. We are also given some time to hold the owl on your forearm, gloves on. The smaller owls are incredibly cute and timid, so they need gentler touch. Larger ones like bob are so friendly they allow some people to lean their cheeks on him. The staff treat these owls with utmost care, i dont sense any animal abuse of any sort. As of space restrictions, im no expert so cant comment on that. I would think the owls would be a lot more frantic if they are not feeling secure. Overall a very interesting experience, staff gives out lots and lots of freebies by the end of the session. Sometimes you might get lucky to get fresh cake splat from the owls too ;)

GO HERE. Great customer service from the moment you enter the door with friendly welcoming staff. You can pet, hold, and give the owls toys to play with. Many owls to interact with and the staff will tell you what each owl likes and doesn’t like. You could tell the owls were very well taken care of and happy. A very safe, clean, and humane place. The staff will help you capture awesome moments and were so accommodating to our children. Make a reservation online in advance! Best experience hands down! Thank you!

I needed to make a reservation!!! I went Jan 3, and they were full and they advise me to make a reservation so I did and came back Jan 5. Food is ok, around ¥3000 for dessert and drink. Kinda pricey. To feed them you can pay extra ¥500. But the experience was fun! The owls were super cute!!!! They are around 18 owls total!!

This is one the most amazing ways to interact with owls. They are majestic and surprisingly friendly. I recommend feeding them as they will fly to you and to watch their tiny little faces light up when you give them the raw meat is everything!!! The staff is super friendly and so kind and respectful to the owls. Highly recommend this to anyone traveling in Tokyo.

(Translated by Google) I went during the daytime on weekdays, but I could enter without reservation because there were no other customers! We waited while eating and drinking at the seat until the contact time. Owls can be seen from the window, so I want to touch them quickly! I could not wait 🥰 I laughed when one of the barn owls (I wonder if it's Alto?) thinks he is big lol. Everyone seems to have been together since they were small, and I thought they were on good terms and were familiar with each other! Each person has their own favorite touches, different facial expressions, different molting periods, and I'm glad they have their own personality! We are happy to receive can badges, figurines, and even cards! I will come again 🥰 🥰 (Original)

Great place to see, touch and handle magnificent owls. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accomodating with letting us and the kids handle and hold many different owls, including a great knowledge of each owl, their personalities and general information. The price was reasonable for 60 minutes of unlimited contact, and included at least a drink and small gift, which some of the higher priced alternatives did not. The area is a little small and squishy if it gets busy, but with the the current closures and fears of public gatherings, it was very quiet. The staff spoke very good English. There is access via a lift to level 4 with only a half dozen stairs at the very bottom.

Owl Village is a very friendly store, you can feel the owner take care of the owl as their own family member, not an tool for making money. You can make your reservation online, their staff speaks English. Owl have break time for resting, their staff will give directions on how to interact with each Owl by their own personality. They also take owl for a fly walk outdoor, I would highly recommended this store if your interested to meet owls.

First trip to Japan and was recommended to check this place out. The girls cared for the birds and were very informative. The birds were allowed to relax between visits and didn't appear to mind the company. The larger owls weren't too fond of visitors but they didn't bother you if you didn't bother them. They just roamed the room to get around. The smaller owls were really nice and enjoyed being petted. Awesome experience in Japan. A must visit! Thanks again!

Visited for the second time! I love this owl village. It is very quiet and quaint (for the sake of the owls). Normally you get to enjoy your cafe beverage in an area separate from the owl “encounter” room, but on my second visit, some of the owls were even hanging out in the cafe area! The staff was friendly and very helpful. You can pet and even hold some of the owls. Make sure you make a reservation at least one day in advance and come on out to the Owl Village in Harajuku!

Owls seem to be in good health and are trained and well accustomed to their surroundings and people. They have a good variety of large, mid to small size owls that are very interesting to observe and even hold/pet. Staff are incredibly friendly, and will go out of their way to make you and the owls feel comfortable. Do however note that it is very important to make a reservation beforehand as there is unlikely enough space for walk ins- that is unless another reservation falls through. Clean and pleasant environment, decent drinks, but the highlight is still plainly the owls. Would say it’s worth the fee to get up close and personal with them, photos are encouraged and staff will help you with that too.

The staff were very friendly. The attraction consists of first getting tea, coffee or soda and sitting in the café for fifteen minutes followed by the main attraction - about 30 minutes of owl petting. The staff lets you pet the owls, feed them, and hold them on your arm. The owls themselves were quite docile and relaxed. The staff told us that they were bred this way. However each owl was strapped to the table so they weren't able to fly around. Overall, it was an interesting experience.

The Owl Village is well worth stopping by if you’re visiting Harajuku. Just note that you will likely need a reservation as the space is small so numbers are limited. Luckily when we stopped by a space was available in an hours time. The experience is started with a refreshment and followed by a rundown of how to approach the owls as each has it’s own personality and like to be handled in a certain way, if at all. It is no problem at all to touch or have the owls rest on your arm and you may take as many photos as you like (no flash of course). Upon departure you are also given a small souvenir. For ¥2000-2500 it is well worth it.

Great to see and pet owls. They seem heavily sedated. However first and last time for me. These owls are chained to the tree so they aren’t able to fly or even walk further than 1 metre. It’s super sad as they are nocturnal and yet kept in bright daylight with some idiots flashing cameras at them and also petting their heads. It’s sad. I cried alot in this one. But 5 stars if you want to see owls. The place is very pretty and the staff is great too.

All types of owls and they're all very friendly! Drinks, 35 minutes of playtime with owls, and a button. Caretakers seemed to really care about the owls health!

I went along a little reluctantly with a friend to this cafe. The owls looked healthy and the young girls handling them seemed to genuinely care for them. I felt terribly sad that these beautiful nocturnal creatures were so far from their normal, natural habitat. They had elastic stays attached to their feet which were removed at times so they could fly to one of their keepers for food. My friend enjoyed the experience of feeding some of the owls and having one sit on her arm.

Amazing experience. The owls are really amazing and love to be touched and held so it's one of the only places you can get this close to owls! 100% recommend this cafe!

I have had a really enjoyable experience here, as you enter in it’s a really cute little cafe. They offer different bundles that allow you to enjoy a drink and interact with the owls. You can feed the owls and take a photo/video of the owl flying to your arm as you feed it. They also have a cute dog which you can feed some treats and are allowed to play with.

Had the best time here. My wife’s favorite animal is an owl she cried when she walked in. The owls look so happy and are very friendly.

This was an amazing experience to feed and pet owls. We got to learn about them and their personalities. The little ones were adorable. It was so cool, and we got many things from them in our package including drinks, candies, magnets, souvenirs. I enjoyed many parts of my Tokyo vacation and this was definitely a highlight.

This is a very good place to relax and interact with the owls, as each owl has its own characteristics. The staff here are very friendly and professional, they will teach you how to interact with each owl. It is a wonderful experience, and I love it.

😐 I have read a lot of good reviews for that however this is rather small place which seems a bit odd to me.
