The most incredible ‘cafe’ in the world! Not cheap but the service and coffee is insanely good. Choose your beans and the guys, wearing lab coats, go to work making your pour over coffee that is wonderful. Nowhere to sit and takeaway only, it’s also very hard to find with no signage. Walk through a small square cut-out (see photo) and you’ll be there.

Very PRO Coffee seller. 1st they will do an introduction of themselves and asking some questions about yourself, etc. then follow by to getting to know what is your preference of coffee type and what sort of coffee you like to drink. then they will recommence you a few choices of coffee bean and explain in detail about the coffee beans, etc. then after that, they will start to prepare the coffee of your choice. They also sell coffee beans and they will explain to you how to prepare with a small note in the coffee bag. (If you are new to making your own coffee) Staffs are very friends and patience to answer your Q&A. They do speak good English too. Please take note, there will be no tables for you to sit down and enjoy your coffee. but a very good coffee that is the best you can ask for. Got myself a pack of coffee beans and make my own coffee at home. Visit them again will be a must again for me.

(Translated by Google) I have visited this cafe more than 5 times. However, this is the first time for such an unpleasant customer service. I can't understand it no matter how standing. As soon as I ordered coffee and had a sip, I told him to go to the wall and drink because of another customer. Some customers had already finished drinking coffee, and the store wasn't crowded. Even though I was the last customer to order, I said I was out. I didn't go to take out. It took less than 10 minutes to order coffee, get coffee and take a sip. The wall where the clerk was told to stand and drink was a dark place with no lighting. I didn't go out for 2000 yen coffee for this. When I finished drinking coffee, I thought about buying coffee beans, but it was unpleasant and came out as it was. It's very unpleasant.

What a cool experience. It's like a coffee tasting bar. Lots of choices of really unique coffee. Friendly staff who speaks English. Lots of beans to purchase too! Expect to wait a bit on the weekends. Will definitely bring folks who are visiting but if you want a quick cup this may not be your choice.

Exquisite coffee, made exquisitely, knowledgeable staff. Very friendly. They take time to connect with each customer. They explain the coffee selections very well in English and Japanese. They help you find the right coffee choices for your taste. They analyzed every bean before grinding my coffee. Only the best beans were selected. Every small detail was examined carefully. They seriously are striving for perfection here and I think they are pretty close. Considering the attention to details. Service was still fast. The interior has a nice design and it’s good that this shop isn’t labeled obviously because they would have too many customers. They friendly atmosphere sets the mood and every customer becomes friendly and in a good mood. Everyone knows that they are having a special coffee experience that can’t be reproduced. Don’t expect a lot of space or chairs but the atmosphere is perfect for what they are doing. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I feel sick I was surprised that the drip was rough There is too much miscellaneous taste Although it was lightly roasted, the bitterness was noticeable. There are stores that can bring out the sweetness of beans even when roasted deeply. I was shocked just because I expected it. I went out without buying anything. (Translated by Google) Although it is a coffee shop, it has a Japanese appearance. The bonsai at the entrance is also nice. There are no seats in the store, and when you enter the store, the concierge will provide counseling rather than the clerk. They will ask you what kind of taste you like and what you want to drink, and they will suggest some beans, so it's fun to choose and you'll be looking forward to the finished product. Many people stand and drink while talking with the shop staff about freshly brewed coffee. The exterior and interior of the store are good. I ordered coffee with a light roasted acidity and sweet cinnamon-like aroma and coffee with a deep roasted bitterness and sweet chocolate-like aroma. Both are delicious.

One of my favorite coffee spots in Tokyo. It’s kinda like a coffee cocktail bar where they ask what you’re looking for (fruity, strong, chocolatey, etc) and pick the best beans to suit your taste. The staff was super friendly and helpful and the ambiance is just the best. No seats. Small bar where you can watch the staff work and drink your coffee. I will go back.

Very unique coffee experience at koffee mameya. It’s sort of like a coffee lab , with the table of different beans to choose from and they will make it on the spot for you I went for the lighter Bolivia bean hand drip , which was very good The staff was very patient in explaining the differences in types of beans Shop also offers roasted beans you can buy home and grind yourself

During a week long trip to Tokyo this was the only spot I came back to more than once. Every part of the experience felt special. From the nondescript entrance, to the bean guide, to the patient and helpful employees who truly take there time with each customer. It's so evident how much they care and want to ensure you have a pleasant experience. The line may move slowly but the experience you receive when it's your turn to be walked through their current bean guide, have your cup of coffee prepared for you before your eyes, smell the fresh ground beans before they are brewed and receive detailed brewing instructions unique to each bean is something you'll never forget and probably have never experienced anywhere else. For people who enjoy coffee at any level from die hard fan to weekend enthusiast I couldn't recommend a better place to visit.

(Translated by Google) I was greeted by looking at my face. Even after waiting for a while, I wasn't told anything. During that time, the customers and staff were chatting at the counter and directing hospitality, but I realized that it was just a directing. I haven't been guided so I haven't had coffee. So, of course, you can't evaluate the taste. There are many better shops out there, so if you don't want to waste your time, you should avoid it. I'm very sorry if you refused at first glance or if you needed to learn something in advance. Thanks to that, I learned that people who say that can't guide me. (Translated by Google) I have visited several times, but I feel that the evaluation is different depending on which clerk responded. Recently, it seems that there are many people who are aiming for Instagram other than those who just want to enjoy coffee, so if you wait in line for the exchange between such people and the clerk, you may get nervous. Lol The clerk's knowledge is deep and it is recommended for those who want to try various coffees and know their tastes. On the contrary, if you have some knowledge and have a clear taste, you should buy it by yourself as a micro roaster. (Translated by Google) Recommended because latte art is fun! A cafe at an intersection with Ginza's Wako. There aren't so many seats, but it's a shop where you can sit with fewer people. The recommendation here is that the photos you took on the spot become latte art! You can take photos of yourself, create a latte art of your favorite people, and there is also a latte art of Nissan cars from successive generations. There are places where you can latte art coffee even if it's not hot but cold coffee, and a matcha latte that you can enjoy even if you are not good at coffee. It's a bit interesting spot in Ginza, so it's always a pleasure to take with someone you don't know! ! ! One of the best specialty coffee experience in Tokyo hidden in the small shop with no seat. Usually have a very long queue in the weekend (45mins to 1 hour waiting). The good vibes full with the house selection beans from light to dark and friendly brew master fluently in English details explaination that will walk you through the journey of each coffee and its flavour. Only black coffee serve here. Pour over is highlight. Definitely highly recommend this amazing place for coffee

A good selection of coffee to try. They do not make their own coffee but they select the best ones from different coffee roasters. The price is more on the expensive end and I believe you can get as good of a coffee elsewhere without having to wait (usually a queue at the place). Their baristas can all speak very good English and the service I received was excellent.

Seems to be a great coffee ☕️ place very trendy among foreigners but impossible to get in because so many People waiting queuing compared to the amount of space which explains my review. The outside seems like a normal house and no obvious sign from outside except a queue (that makes you guess it’s there ) entrance is very japanese and inside is a standing bar. Seems like a coffee tasting bar. About 4 staffs assisting so you just have to wait till the previous client leave. It seems like a coffee lab to me. Recommend for people with patience I guess… But the place seems cool. Will Maybe try to come again. Some kind of time indication outside would help.

This establishment offers a unique coffee experience for those who appreciate and are knowledgeable about coffee. They serve exceptional drip coffee and espresso, focusing on the quality and flavors of different coffee beans. It’s not your typical coffee shop, but a place where coffee enthusiasts can truly enjoy the art of coffee brewing. However, they don’t offer beverages like lattes, flat whites, or cappuccinos—only drip coffee and espresso. Coffee is expensive, 1700 yen per person on average.

5 starts. Lovely experience for coffee enthusiasts. The baristas are very knowledgable and introduced us to the international selection of beans they were selling. The only downside is there are no seats, only a standing counter. I enjoyed watching them brew the coffee. When purchasing beans you’re also suggested a specific recipe for it! Definitely worth a visit.

Tokyo's Koffee Mameya - a place that seems to have defied the laws of coffee shops as we know them. When I first heard about it, the idea of making a reservation for a cup of joe struck me as unusual. But like a culinary adventurer always on the lookout for the extraordinary, I couldn't resist the temptation. The coffee tasting courses alone were a revelation. Three different journeys through the world of coffee, each one revealing new depths of flavor and aroma. To add to the excitement, they even offered coffee cocktails - a bold move that I appreciated. This wasn't just caffeine; it was a symphony of flavors, an exploration of the senses. Yes, the price tag was undeniably on the steeper side, but for two die-hard coffee lovers like my wife and me, it was worth every yen. We indulged ourselves - my wife opted for her signature tasting, while I ventured into the realm of coffee cocktails and a dessert to top it all off. But there was one minor hiccup in our coffee-fueled adventure: the infamous bathroom situation. With only one bathroom and the diuretic effects of coffee, a line was inevitable. It was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise flawless experience, though I must admit it was a humorous reminder of the shared passion that had drawn us all to this caffeinated haven. In the end, Koffee Mameya left us with a sense of satisfaction and a lingering desire to return. Maybe next time I'll dive into the Geisha class and explore the nuances of one of the world's most sought-after coffee beans. So, should you venture into Koffee Mameya? If you're a true coffee connoisseur looking for an unforgettable journey through the world of coffee, absolutely. Just remember to book your reservation well in advance and prepare for a coffee experience like no other

Perhaps the number 1 most recommended café to go to. Its the first of its kind that I have tried. The amount of coffee selection here is astonishing. I would have loved to deep dive into many different selection, but opted to go for the beans from China. It was an amazing cup, no complaints there. In the end I picked up a bag of Vietnamese coffee beans (review coming up soon). However, heads up the wait can be long. They specialize in deep diving into the specifics of the beans and assessing what you palate is in order to find which bean would be best suited for your current preference. I felt a bit overwhelmed to be honest. I knew I wanted something along the lines of light-medium roast, I wish I was given more info on the beans (but I was being served between two other clients). In the end, I just wanted to take my coffee to go and grab some beans (that was hard to get elsewhere in Japan). I can understand the appeal and experience, hence it was nice to have done it. Overall Kel rating: 3.5/5 The good: It was my first experience with luxury coffee and being served by coffee experts who know the ins and outs of the bean. The decent: English friendly, credit card accepted. The ugly: Long wait, can be overwhelming, on the very pricey end of coffee beans.

This small coffee shop gives you a different experience into coffee. You get personalise barista that explains all their beans, notes, roasts type and will try to find the coffee bean that you will like. They will make it infront of you with explanation of each steps. You will get to enjoy Amazing cup. The place is small and has no seating and since every person will take different time means that you will have to wait outside for a while. Super friendly staff. If you love coffee its the place to visit. Highly recommended.

Nice coffee in Omotesando area, one of the better ones in our trip. They have interesting coffee selection from all around the world, and the staff patiently explain the characteristics and story for each one. However I don't think it's worth a 1-hour queue in the middle of the winter.

A fantastic coffee enthusiast focused experience. This is not really a place to pop in for a drink. It’s really a whole song and dance where you also buy coffee drinks and coffee beans. I had the best shot of espresso in my life here, a hand pour, and my partner got an iced coffee. All were excellent. The level of service is very high. Once you’re in the door an employee will take you through the coffees they have curated, find a selection that fits your palate or interest and places your order. From there’s you’ll go to the coffee bar where another knowledgeable barista will make your drink and talk to you about the beans or other coffees you might want to try or buy. We also bought 3 bags of beans. Altogether spent almost $100 with most of the cost being the whole beans we are taking home.

A true gem in Shibuya to visit and explore various curated coffees along the flavour profile spectrum. It's always a long queue due to the set up that is only a standing bar accommodating 3 parties at any one time. No food served here, only coffee. For good reason. The barista are highly knowledgeable, clearly experts in brew methods. They are passionate to share their knowledge and help you find coffee beans you'd love. They showcase coffee from roasters all over Japan and globally. So you are roaming the whole world of coffee flavours in one location. Definitely a must visit if only the queues weren't so painful.

What an experience. The staff were amazing, they spoke pretty good English as well which was nice seeing how they had 21 flavors and 8 roasts in their selection. It was a excellent cup of black coffee using a Japanese long pour method. They grind each cup to oder and actually weigh out the water as their pour to not dilute the flavor. Would highly recommend this place to anyone who has a keen palette for coffee.

Really small place. But the staff was really nice, the presentation and the whole ceremonial about the preparation of coffee was amazing. The coffee was really flavorous. You can pick your coffee among 10 origins everyday and they are going to advice you about you like in coffee. Also, don't go there if you want a latte or a cappuccino, they do only filter coffee and espresso. Very friendly staff, not fluent english but they were making huge efforts and I really appreciated because my Japanese is not good enough to have a real conversation about coffee. They know what they are talking about and they are passionnated about it. I would definitely come back to buy a bag of coffee.

It's important to note that while KOFFEE MAMEYA will sell you a cup of drip coffee, KOFFEE MAMEYA is not a coffee shop: it's a bean-shopping experience (of beans curated from other roasters). Upon entering, an employee will take you on an end-to-end journey, starting with getting a sense of your coffee sensibilities, after which you'll be introduced to their coffee gradient; based on whatever you told them, they'll recommend a variety of beans and encourage you to sample some if you'd like (at a cost, of course). Once you've selected what beans you would like to purchase, they'll tailor your brewing instructions to your preferred methods. It's a very high-end retail feeling experience, one that you'd enjoy if you're particular about coffee.

This place is to get coffee beans or coffee powder, unlikely other coffee shop, you won't be able to linger and sit to enjoy your coffee. This place is very suitable for coffee specialties, real coffee consumers. The barista will explain you the kind of coffee beans they have and will make you according to your order. The queue is usually long.

They served pour over coffee with paper cup, and they didn't state the date when the beans were roasted so I didn't know their freshness. They do serve a good selection of brand but this place is now becoming too popular that the queue is getting long. I've waited for almost an hour which is not worthwhile.

So great. We waited - it’s a wait - so if you’re not really into coffee, don’t get mad when you get your cup! But the care and knowledge (and the grind sample size if you buy beans) were all remarkable. Go! Go! Go!

Great coffee with friendly and knowledge staff (they also speak English if needed). They also sell two different types of mugs, depending on light or dark roast. I got lucky at a time when it wasn’t super crowded, but it’s quite a small space inside.

This is the holy grail of specialty coffee shops. As an Australian, this level of service is unparalleled. You are greeted by a “sommelier” on arrival who holds a grid-style menu and asks what type of coffee you typically enjoy and helps you pick out a coffee personalised for your palate. You then step up and they brew your drink (or prepare you wonderfully curated bags of beans) and explain the flavour experience. They even leave recipe recommendations for any retail sales, tailored to your set up. Most staff speak good English. I am impressed by the concept and the execution. Very well done. Only disappointment was the paper cup :’(

Koffee Mameya is the must try list when it comes to coffee in Tokyo. It’s tucked away in a tiny spot in omatesando. The place is small and can only serve 5-6 customers at a time. Therefore, expect at least 10-15 minutes waiting time before you get to place your order. They bring coffee from cool places around the world. But note that Japanese style opts for slightly darker and balanced filter coffee rather than bright acidity in your coffee.

Are you a coffee addict just like myself? And I mean proper coffee, not the Starbucks kind ;). Then this is the spot for you - a true haven for coffee purists. Mameya prides itself for selecting the best coffee beans in the world from light to medium and dark roasts, including some absolutely stunning geisha beans. As a result you will likely indulge in more than just one cup of brews - I mean you deserve it after likely waiting in line for 30mins ++. Despite the price, I highly recommend to at least try geisha once - you’ll be blown away!

Exceptional coffee experience. The baristas are very good at expanding the coffee. You can feel the care put into each cup of coffee they make. The barista spoke English with us. You can also buy beans. They come with a grain size sample and instructions on how to get the best of the beans

There's a reason this coffee shop is famous. There's a reason why people line up. There's a reason why they have stellar reviews. Great unique coffee shop experience. Staff will guide you through their beans helping you select just the right one to take home. It's honestly not a place where you lounge around for hours chit chatting. Since it's one staff per customer(s), and they have limited amount of staff and space, try to be reasonable by getting your cup/bean and leaving once you've made your selection. The staff is too nice to tell usher any customer in making their decision, but I've noticed some people just take awfully long to stand and drink their cup of coffee. Anyways, great coffee and a great place to get a gift for friends and family that are into coffee. Around ¥500-¥600 for a cup of coffee. Around ¥2000-¥3000 for beans.

Unique cafe with superb, knowledgeable staff. A huge amount of different coffees are available. A bit more pricey than the average cafe but the cup is tailored towards you with a small 'interview' beforehand on your coffee likes. Then it's brewed for you. If buying coffee beans, great information is provided on how to brew the coffee at home. There's always a queue so go during the weekday when the wait isn't so bad. Would say it's a must go for any coffee lover.

Honestly one of the best coffee shops we've ever been to. Hidden gem, mostly locals, we found this place and fell in love. The people who work there are super friendly, and they know their coffee!! We visited twice, drank probably the best coffee we've had, made friends with the people and felt like we got to see a small.piece of heaven in Tokyo. We were sad not to make it back one last time to buy some beans to take with us home but WE WILL BE BACK for.our next trip. They also gave us recommendations for other great coffee places <333 love this place.

(visited there in Jan. 2020) Impressed by the atmosphere there. It is calm, settled and nice place. They has multiple of choice of beans from several roasters. Visitors can be honest what type of coffee do they like. I did share my favorite as like, I like high acidity with enough body. Let's say for example, Kenya or Colombia. I am lucky that they had this 2 coffees from each countries with different type of roasting. Then I could taste them. What's really impressed me there was representation of roasting level. They showed me with sample beans roasted by different levels. It is beautiful itself!! I tried at first my favorite and then something different. That made me having different experiences, first one is relaxed and then excited with new taste. So good to try here and have conversation with them. They are kind and open to talk in English. No worries for foreigner to go, with some slowly speaking pace better for their understanding. (It is not special here but general in Japan)

One of the best coffee places I have visited in my life. If you are a real coffee nerd and love dedication to coffee, this is a must. It a tasting bar more than a coffee shop. It has no seats, espresso based drinks nor any kind food. They only serve manual drip but the whole experience is invaluable as they explain to you every aspect of the coffee you're drinking. If you buy beans, which I did, you'll be given the recipe for the coffee and even a grind sample. Service is personalized and warm. I would back again every day if I could.

Fantastic shop for drinking and buying beans. They have beans from multiple roasters around the world, 18 different beans when we visited. The staff is super friendly and helped us pick based on our preferences and then brewed a perfect cup.

Love it. Friendly baristas. I can see they loves coffee . The baristas explained me some coffee bean character . We’ve spoken in Japanese but I believe some of Staffs does speak English as well . It’s nice to visit for cup of black coffee and buy some beans from here. (Because of Covid they use takeaway cups even if it’s dine in )

The selection of coffee available here is well curated and they take time to explain the flavour profile. A brilliant experience.

Best drip coffee and cold brew I have ever experienced, and I have experienced a fair amount (principally in USA). Detailed preparation. Coffee only. Small environment can require patience but well worth it!

Great coffee experience. Note: there is no table, basically you are standing like in a bar and speak with the barista. The barista is very knowledgeable, I think everyone speaks English too. They will recommend you the coffee according to your liking.

Calling this a coffee bar is something of a misnomer. You most certainly can get a cup of coffee here – and you should – but this is a place where you come to buy beans. Don’t expect to sit down at a table for a coffee and something sweet, and be prepared to wait in line. What you’re in for is an opportunity to really geek out about coffee. Super-knowledgeable staff, who all speak great English. They really make an effort to get to the bottom of what kind of coffee you like, and the whole experience was very pleasant. Side note: the entrance is quite obscure. Don’t go around looking for a big sign or anything, there isn’t one.

I was planning to get coffee at a place nearby, but it was closed, and this was the nearest spot on my "good coffee" list that I had saved on Google Maps. Didn't know what to expect, but wow! It felt like I was stepping into a lab or high end boutique. They were so friendly and helpful to understand the flavor profiles I enjoyed to choose a bean. I ended up going with a very light and fruity blend that was pricy but so incredibly unique. If you appreciate coffee, highly recommend! Im considering going back for beans to bring home!

This place is insane, makes you wanna stay there for a long time if it wasn't there any seats. The receptionists are great at explaining all the choices, a must go for a coffee, definitely try at least 2 favourites, would be good to go around 1:30, lesser people waiting

One of the wonderfully strangest cofee experiences I ever had. You enter this unassuming cafe from a side entrance and open a black sliding door. Once inside there are no seats, there is no decor. There is just a wall full of cofee and the cofee experts in front of it that wear what looks like laboratory coats. Like scientists they discover what cofee you would enjoy and then brew it with utmost dedication. You drink it while standing and the experience is extraordinary because it’s just you and the cofee, no distractions. Glad to have had such a mindful cofee experience here! Even though it feels and looks fancy, the prices are affordable. Fully recommended!!!

This place is akin to meeting with an expert sommelier, however, it is coffee. Up there with our top coffee experience across the globe. Aussies should leave behind their obsession with the flat white and latte and get on board with the pour over. We left with geisha beans and recipe to ensure that they deliver the same flavour and tones as we experienced today. Thanks guys.
