Tembhu irrigation water project is situated near to Karad City. It is it started in 1997 to built and completed in 2005 it is one of the biggest project of Western Maharashtra this dam is mounted on Krishna river Karad lifting the water there are big big pumps in this project the water lift from Karad City area to towards the towards the various locations like at aatpadi, jat, man.

The scheme consists of constructing Barrage across Krishna river at village Tembhu, Tal. Karad, Dist. Satara & Pump House sat various stages Rising main, Tunnels & canal, distributory network and the water is lifted in five stages at different location. At this location power generation is done by using hydraulic turbines which in turn generates electricity.

Nice project. Tembhu is a small village situated on the eastern bank of the River Krishna, near Karad, in the Satara District of Maharashtra, India. It's very important project for some areas of maharashtra who shuffle due to draughts. Very big budget project started I think 2011 , work start progressive after 2014 , Good nice project need to complete as soon as possible by government.

The Tembhu Lift irrigation Scheme benefits drought-prone areas of Satara, Solapur and Sangli districts. The scheme consists of constructing barrages on the river Krishna near Tembhu village and lifting 22 billion cubic feet water in different stages to irrigate approximately 80,000 hectares area in seven talukas Karad, Kadegaon, Tasgaon, Khanapur, Atpadi, Kavathe-Mahankal and Sangola - spread across Satara, Sangli and Solapur districts.
