Great little diner full of character with wonderful staff and delicious food. We all had breakfast and it was yummy! Best restaurant grits I've ever had. Grits are hard for restaurants to get right, but D Nalley's got them PERFECT. We had to order an extra order so we could eat even more grits.

Delicious pancakes! The kids loved the throwback feel of the place. They sat at the counter for kicks. The waitress was a bit off putting in the beginning. But after a while it became apparent that she was prob over worked and just needed a little grace. The food was really good overall. The fried eggs were cooked to perfection and the home fries will have me coming back the next time I'm in town.

D.Nalley's Diner on 3rd Str. Vist 05/05/2023 Don't get the club whatever you do, the Kraft single was thinker than the meats all together, paper thin turkey slice and paper thin ham and 1 peace of bacon 3 of the smallest slices of toast with plenty of mayo a tiny piece of lettuce and the tomato was as thin as paper as well if it was there at all. I ordered home fries which were fries cut into cubes and fried like french fries, not in a skillet like home fries are suppose to be cooked, a coke and it came to $15.00, I ordered the combo which the guy said the home fries cost more money than fries so its not a combo. I looked up the cost of the fries and home fries>Onion Rings $2.75 Corn $2.75 Green Beans $2.75 Home Fries<<<<<<<<<<<< $2.75<<<<<<<<<< Mac And Cheese $2.75 Apple Sauce $2.75 French Fries<<<<<<<<<<<< $2.75<<<<<<<<<<<<< Dee Taters $2.75 Mashed Potatoes $2.75 Cole Slaw $2.75 , I don't mind paying the money if the product is what I ordered, the guy obviously lied to me, I did say something about the home fries being frozen french fries cut up, but he lied about the price. also what the sandwich had on it was embarrassing. they should be ashamed. I have gone there for years different owners and never this quality issue, if your going to sell a $15.00 club then give a $15.00 club. Meats so thin you could see through it 1 piece of each turkey ham and bacon That was my last visit...

Found this hole in the wall diner on Google. Definitely worth it. Great atmosphere. Bob waited on us and with the stories and attitude made it that much better. Excellent food and very fast.i had the b&g platter (way too much to eat) others had the omelet and Philly cheese sandwich. All was excellent. Highly recommended. We will be back

Loved our very first visit here for Saturday breakfast. Home fry potatoes were delicious as was the over-easy eggs, sausage and bacon. Pancakes were good and my wife really liked her breakfast sandwich on a bagel. Coffee was good and strong and wait staff was friendly and patient. My parents, who grew up in Louisville, had never heard of D. Nalley's so were fortunate to luck upon it.

I wish I could give 10 stars! A group of us stopped in after a ghost hunt at Waverly. Marcus was attentive, nice, funny and very helpful! He and another local pointed out some other places to check out the area. PS thanks for the "white people music" 🤣🤣 (inside joke with Marcus). We absolutely recommend D Nalley's and will definitely come back next time we're in town! Highly recommend the grits!

Everything I’ve tried for breakfast here has been awesome. Nothing fancy, just quality food cooked with care and an aim to impress. Simply delicious. Try the breakfast burrito, banana pancakes, etc. not to mention the best hashbrown tots in town. The Staff is also awesome and so friendly. Just a great, relaxing place to sit and dine

Philly cheese steak was flavorless and not even a real Philly cheese steak. I'm not gonna say you get what you pay for because everything is over priced in this country. Honest review, don't want others to have my experience but there is always the possibility you'll love it and have a completely different opinion. Everything was fine expect my food.

Amazing, I have been riding past this location twice a day, everyday for the past 3 years. I’m sorry that I’ve never stopped there to dine. Wife and I had breakfast there this morning. This will be one of our favorite places to eat. Very intimate and friendly staff. Food is excellent.

This is an old style dinner with friendly service. We came in for breakfast and were not disappointed. Everything, including the grits, was cooked the way it should. FYI, Google Maps directed us through the back side of the restaurant, so don't be too surprised if Googles directions are a bit wonky.

So this was my first time FINALLY going in here to eat. I have probably driven past this little gem a million times and I'm not exaggerating. It's a tiny place and you just know that because they're not part of a chain, the food is going to be off the hook. Well, they didn't disappoint. I happened to have ordered breakfast and I guess they forgot I'm only one person. I ordered the chocolate chip pancakes but they came with 2 eggs, sausage and coffee of course. The gentleman who took my order brought me 2, yes 2, platters of food. The 3 enormous pancakes topped with powdered sugar were on 1 and my eggs and sausage were on the other. I think my order was $10, maybe $12? Look at all this food! I spend more than that for a "value" meal at McDonald's and you can't compare the two. The chocolate chips in the pancakes were semi-sweet so they weren't sickly sweet. They. Were. Divine. So for anyone wanting to come see for yourself, they're located at 970 S 3rd (downtown) but S 3rd is a one way street. So once you're at the Brown Hotel on Broadway, it doesn't matter which way you're facing because that's where S 3rd starts. Again, it's a one way street so you can't mess up. Once you're on S 3rd, they'll be on the right-hand side of the street and they're BEFORE Ollie's Trolley. It's very easy to pass them so I suggest you drive slowly when coming down S 3rd. They have both a website and a Facebook page. I believe they participate with Door Dash and GrubHub but I haven't tried that yet. If you're in the area, it's totally worth the stop. You won't regret it!

Tried this place for the first time. The service was excellent. Food was prepared fresh and hot. Taste was spot on with each dish we ordered. If you are a pancake lover, this place is top on my list. Ambience, I need a little work, but the place has that old Louisville vibe.

Wonderful little diner. The waitress that helped us didn’t seem too thrilled to be there, but her humor for the situation made it tolerable. Classic diner food, definitely better than any chain. Keeps the classic feel for the atmosphere. Definitely would recommend visiting.

If I could give minus 5 stars on food I would. They served me my Cole slaw in the bowl they prepared it in with the same spoon and absolutely no vinegar. I ordered the Hot brown which is a classic dish in this area but their variation was absolutely disgusting. Not to mention the roach crawling on the floor near the kitchen door. The only good thing about this visit was the music on the radio.

Solid Diner!! Been in Louisville for awhile and never heard of this place. Went and took my lunch break and this came up on google search. The food is fresh and delicious. Definitely will be back!! Nice hidden gem!!

I just gotta say, their potatoes were freaking fantastic. Whatever stuff they put on that food is blew me out of the water. It was so good. Also, the atmosphere was great because it was like taking a trip to the past. They were playing 1970s music and they had an old-timey diner. I would definitely go back 1 million times. The food was also great for its price, and it wasn’t in too bad of a neighborhood. 5 stars all the way!!

I have been seeing this place for a while and finally decided to give it a try. It historically had a really good reputation, so I wanted to give it a try. THE GOOD... The server was really, really nice. She was the only server there and had a restaurant full of patrons. She handled it marvelously. THE FOOD... I ordered the "Devilied Livers" (spelled just like that...but pronounced "Deviled") and a waffle; she had an omlette. IT WAS HORRIBLE. The livers were fried hard and quick however the gravy on them was very tasty.. But the livers were overcooked and hard. They came with mashed potatoes that were out of a box and mixed with water (as opposed to milk or cream that would have given them more flavor). Even if they added butter to them it would have helped tremendously. My waffle came out, literally, 10 minutes after the other food. It was small but flavorful. But came out wayyyy too late. The omlette was beaten so much that it had an absurd amount of air in it and was really thick. It was overcooked had no salt and/or seasoning and missing two of the fillings. The cheese was an imitation sliced American cheese and did not taste good at all. OVERALL RATING Service was good. The server was really on her game. Food was horrible. I would not eat here.

Very good food very fast and very friendly as well as cheap on prices even if it wasn't cheap the food and service would be worth a few more dollars to spend

Food was good did not leave hungry. short staffed (pandemic) worth the wait to get the food. We wore in town on a trip and they were one of two local places we stopped to eat.

    D. Nalley's is exactly what l look for when I am anywhere in the US. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, exceptional food, unique taste, and fast service. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. They are on a one-way street, so it can be hard to find, but I promise it's worth your time. Do your belly a favor and stop in at D. Nally's.

Everything on the menu is bomb and not overpriced like other places. Their tots are incredible. The waiter, Marcus, is super friendly and very hard-working. We're now regulars.

    D. Nalley’s is a quaint little diner in old Louisville serving breakfast and lunch all day. The Double D’eggs breakfast was awesome especially the pancakes. Apparently there is a young lady short order cook who worked the day we visited, and she tweaks their regular pancake recipe - ask who is making the pancakes and if the special lady is working, get the pancake instead of toast - it’s a must! They are so fluffy and tender they melt in your mouth. Best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life, 60+ years!!! The scrambled eggs were fluffy, home fries were delicious, bacon was perfect. The service was super friendly and genuine. Support small, local businesses! You will be rewarded if you go. Note GOOGLE MAPS HAS YOU TRYING TO TURN THE WRONG WAY ON 3RD STREET. IT’S A ONE WAY. D. NALLEY’S DINER IS IN THE 600 BLOCK OF 3RD STREET. Keep that in mind and adjust your route accordingly. Parking in the rear.

This place is awesome!! My favorite things are the chocolate chip pancakes and the club. They have the best onion rings, even better with the garlic aioli. Staff is friendly and makes you feel like a regular, even if it's your first time there.

Wow, simple diner food and great prices that seem to not have changed much in the last 10 years, who could ask for more! Everything was delicious and now they will be open late on Friday and Saturday perfect for late night drunk food.
