If you are in Anguilla this place is a MUST-DO! Gwen’s Reggae Bar is a great spot to get lunch located on Shoal Bay (one of Anguilla’s most beautiful and beaches). This place has a great reggae roots style from the music, to the , food, and building itself. Everything was grilled right outside and was delicious! There was even some wild puppies that just chill out in around the restaurant all day! The view of Shoal Bay is also amazing and Gwen’s even offers lounge chairs in front of the restaurant! If you are in Anguilla, don’t miss this spot!

The owners are very personable and the food is awesome. We had snapper filet and it was tender and prepared with perfection! Great drinks too. Don’t pass this opportunity up on your trip. Free beach chairs and umbrellas on one of the worlds beautiful beaches.

Gwens must have fallen off a cliff, or these positive reviews are highly rum punch induced. Had an early dinner at Gwens due to the outstanding reviews and was highly disappointed. Prices comparable to a high end resort. Pathetic, dried out meats, inedible sides. Highly recommend not wasting your time.

A family-run business with a beautiful view of the beach. Marley and other reggae artists were playing but thankfully not too loud. Some of the best shrimp my wife has ever had. So good, that we ordered another half dozen to share after we finished our lunches.

Decent drinks and food. Don't go on Sundays unless you're good with local men trying to grab your wife, unwanted, while trying to get to the restroom, and get her on the dance floor. If you're into that, then it's probably fun.

Gwen's has not only great food and delicious drinks, but they also have big hearts. Someone abandoned 6 puppies near their property and they've taken it upon themselves to take care of these puppies. Please visit and tip heavily, as this is one expense they weren't planning on having. ❤️

Gwyn's Reggae Bar and Grill is the ultimate party spot! That rum punch is off the hook and the staff is always down for a good time. And let me tell you, the vibe is straight fire. I'm giving this place a solid bro-fist, 5 stars all day, every day! Get drunk and be somebody!

Not reggae on Sunday. Clinky Texan something.

This restaurant certainly impressed from a visual standpoint. It’s beautifully situated right on the beach and has a lovely, laid-back vibe. However, the experience was let down by the food and service. Although the customer service was friendly when ordering, the food quality was subpar and the wait time was excessively long. I ordered a Mahi Mahi burger and a kids’ meal. At that point, there was only one other table with two people. About 30 minutes later, a group of 12 arrived, and we ended up waiting nearly an hour for our food. The kids’ meal was larger than the adult portion, which was disappointing. My burger was tiny, with the piece of fish measuring no more than 8x6 cm. Given the cost and the fact that the food was nearly cold when it arrived, I was very disappointed. While the burger tasted okay, it was so light on fillings that I left feeling unsatisfied. Overall, the location and ambiance were great, but the food and service need significant improvement.

The view here is awesome! Perfect views of the beach and water. However, this wouldn’t be my first choice for food. We had lunch here and while our server was very nice and the food didn’t take excessively long, it was just okay.

We walked from our hotel and had a great lunch on the beach. Great Food and Service. Had a great Burger with Carmelized Onions Salads and Fries. This is our second time there and we'll be back!

The chicken and ribs were great but the grilled lobster stole the show Come see Scratch Band on Sundays and get brunch

All the locals said this is the place they love to go. Terry (aka Tap) is your grill master and is the most friendly man. He chatted with us while making each order fresh and it was worth the wait. Live music on Sundays this place is a must.

Joya local con buen ambiente, comida rica y un ambiente totalmente fuera de lo turístico con una vista a la playa hermosa.

The Sunday scratch band is so fun, dancing and drinks also add to the fantastic ambience. Line for food and drink can be very long, 30+ minute wait in line, at least an hour wait for food when it's busy. The band played for 3.5+ hours. Great place to hang out.

We came here multiple times during the week to escape the hotel feeling and to get great food. Everything we had was was authentic and the atmosphere was amazing! My husband had snapper and said it was the best he ever had. Gwen will treat you like family! ❤️

Nice location, service horrible, food below par. Vibe much worse than other local beach bars Ordered $20 hamburger, after 1h10m wait I went to cancel it and was told I cannot as they are still making it (presumably they fly to Aberdeen to get a cow?). Since I chased I waited another 30 minutes for it to arrive (whist chasing again) and quality was below par

Got the barbecue chicken and a hamburger. Didn’t really enjoy either, however, this was where I had the best and strongest drink! The margarita was so great.

Stunning spot on shoal bay east! You can just grab a chair, no charge or issue and float in the beautiful clear blue sea - the lobster and everything they grill was phenomenal!

Chill spot with cold beer and awesome food. Went on a Wednesday and walked up at 11. Laid back vibe matches the easy going service. Ribs and chicken were next level. Great seasoning and cooked very well.

Such a lovely and authentic beach bar run by Gwen and her family. Delicious food and a fabulous location. Don’t miss Thu and Sun live music and dancing with The Scratch Band, led by Gwen’s husband. Stop by for a beer and food to experience the true Caribbean vibes.

Visited Gwen's Reggae Bar on a recent trip to Anguilla. We heard about this place through a Facebook group and it did not disappoint. The frozen mojito was amazing and my shrimp were also amazing! My husband loved the food so much that an hour after eating his Mahi Mahi he went back for the ribs. This place is a must visit!

Gwen and her family run an absolutely wonderful place. They treat you like their family. Very friendly and the food is out of this world. You couldn't ask for a better atmosphere and if you can catch the live music it is an awesome addition to the culture of the island. A must go if you are in the area.

Just EVERYTHING about this place is AMAZING! Kinda wanna give it a bad review so people don’t overpopulate the place because it’s like a secret spot! Super chill, good vibes, good food & good people! What more can you ask for?

Amazing beach bar/restaurant. Family owned. Local crew were super friendly. True island experience. Combo plate of ribs and chicken were great. Local told me to mix the BBQ sauce with the habanero hot sauce …. He was spot on. Also the rum punch is perfect.

I visited Gwen's in November 2023 on a solo trip. The staff/owners were so nice. I stayed at a resort down the way, and the snapper from Gwen's was eat better than anything I could get from my resort. I ate twice while I was there. I lomk forward to visiting again.

The food was great! Try the combo platter of ribs and chicken, it comes with a cold pasta side that we were still talking about days later! The punch was very good but somehow the frozen margarita was even better.. For a low key / relaxed lunch on the beach this was the way to go. Side note: this was one of the more reasonably priced meals we had on the island.

Loved this place on Sunday! Great band and crowd! Awesome setting with plenty of tables under cover and also on beach. Super friendly bartenders. Road to bar a bit rough. Definitely would return!

This place is one of the Best Anguilla has to offer. The food and drinks are top notch as is their customer service. Sunday brunch is amazing!

Lobster was good, but not what we'd hoped from reviews. Rum punch is great. Nice local atmosphere. Not too expensive.

Gwen's is always an amazing experience. I personally love the grilled chicken plate but then you add in the music on Sundays and it is awesome. Oh yeah... and throw in a view of the best beach in the world and you have a perfect combination. Thank you Gwen and Tap.

A quintessential Beach Bar on a good beach in Anguilla. Indoor dining with beach dining with tables and umbrellas. Generally doesn't open till about 11:00 a.m..

  • 2/5 Dee C. 2 years ago on Google
Nice beach, okay food – two stars! The service was subterranean during several visits, and the prices are disproportionately high. But the "best" are the - let's say - very creative bills. We are very happy on Anguilla, but here we will not go again!

Our food was very delicious and more affordable than other places close by on the island. Everyone is very friendly and there’s a beautiful view and beach chairs. Recommend the rum punch!

Been to Anguilla 13 times and have tried many restaurants and know how pricey everything is on the island. Gwen's is on par with prices and her food is excellent! Watch the drink bill however that's the killer :)

This year will be my third visit to the island. The trip will be planned around Gwen's Reggae Bar and Grill on Sunday. The family and the music is so magical...please stop in to say hello to the lovely family.
