The staff were friendly and helpful but to be honest I would not dive with them again. It was very disorganised which meant we got away 45mins late. When we arrived we set up our gear and sat there for an hr in our wetsuits watching the late commers walk in wanting to try on hire gear etc and holding us up even more. Other dives shops ask you to come in the afternoon before if possible to make sure the boat is efficient and leaves on time. The diving didn't get much better the boat was overcrowded with 20 people with varying experience levels and only 2 guides which meant we could only go as deep as 18m. Our guide had trouble keeping track of all 9 divers so we surfaced multiple times during the dives. Overall a messy experience.

Let's go somewhere else to adventure. In order of subjective importance: 1) Some of the hire gear was in very average condition - the plastic bracket holding my tank literally shattered when I was gearing up for the first dive and there were NO spare BCDs on the boat (seriously) so had to make do with jerry-rigged version for two dives which was extermely uncomfortable. Zero apologies from the crew and an extra nice expletive from the skipper because the tank landed on a fragile gear locker cover. Why would you have a fragile fibreglass covers on a dive boat?! I digress... 2) The crew and then later staff at shop were being openly rude to, and in earshot of customers, complaining about one of the divemasters between one another. The bloke was clearly new to the business and still figuring out how things were run, but I only noticed this because of how others were behaving toward him not because of anything he did. 3) The food offered between dives was quite simply, the worst I've ever had on any dive trip anywhere around the world. Flavourless cup 'o' soups with luke-warm water and stale bread with hard cheese like we were some kind of feudalist peasants. The biscuits and lollies offered after the final dive were the only upside to this mess. The only reason this isn't one star is because our divemaster was competent and approachable, and the woman behind the counter was extremely helpful and polite despite the best efforts of some of her colleagues. All relatively easy things to fix but I won't be going back.

Amazing dive sites but avoid this mob. TLDR - one inexperienced kid ended up alone at 30 bar - next dive they lost a diver completely (vis was fine). Told to arrive 7am - sat waiting until 830 When we went down to the boat. 18 people (including 8 inexperienced) and 2 dive masters, one of whom was very inexperienced & created dangerous situations. We had booked months in advance and checked that it was OK to bring along 6 teens with minimal experience. We were put in a group - with two other less experienced divers - under the less experienced DM. This would have been a rough job for anybody but it was chaos. Not enough people to help with gear so I was checking the kids - the DM was already in the water. A very minimal briefing. Half way through the dive the DM didn’t even notice when one of the kids popped to the surface, followed by their buddy. By the time I had the DM’s attention they were swimming back down. At the end of the dive he did an air check. Having not warned the kids this might happen during the briefing, he split our buddy pairs, intending to leave two very inexperienced kids to ascend together and took off deeper with the rest - without checking people understood. Chaos ensured. One of the kids knew they didn’t have sufficient air to descend but didn’t want to leave their buddy, who had gone down - so they stayed still. The other followed their buddy, having not understood what was going on at all. I had to chase the DM & write kids confused’ on his state and tell him I was going to ascend with them. By the time this had happened I was left ascending with a kid with 30 bar. The DM had indicated to me that he would do a safety stop with one of the other kids. But he didn’t do that - instead he carried on diving. I was quite anxious having left my child with this guy, wondering what had happened. The next dive I requested a change and our DM was great. But still a group if 10 is not ideal - especially with so many beginners. Meanwhile our first DM lost somebody on the second dive - her partner had to go back into the cave and was frantically searching for her. Fortunately she made it back to the boat alone but he’d been through a huge amount of stress. We let the owner know what happened. He said he had 3 perm team members on holiday (on a public holiday in a tourist spot - doesn’t sound like great planning!)but didn’t really acknowledge our concerns sufficiently. Apparently these DM to diver ratios are standard. I get that’s allowed but it’s a bad idea with inexperienced people on a slightly more complex dive (surge caves etc).

Me and my brother completed our advanced course with Tom who was brilliant! Very patient and made the dives interesting whilst we learnt. Would definitely dive with them again.

Great double boat dive with Let's Go Adventures. Oodles of fish, 3 types of shark. Managed to see the well known grey nurse hanging out at 5m. Thanks for the enthuasiastic dive guide, Charlie. We had perfect conditions and the Looking Glass looked glassy! A very experienced boat skipper and a well organised dive trip. Thanks, Mick. Great to get back into NSW diving after a far too long surface interval! We'll be back!

We really enjoyed our snorkelling experience with these guys. Mick was was thorough in kitting us out making sure we had the correct fitting gear. Our guide Charlie was knowledgeable, friendly great to chat to and pointed out the different fish we saw and kept us all very well informed during our time with him. We really enjoyed the entire experience.

It was my first snorkelling experience and Tom from Let's Go Adventure made it much easier and comfortable for me to experience this. The staff at this place are all also very friendly & very professional. I highly recommend them, thank you 👍.

Good advice for the dive site and friendly service; but shocking hire tanks, filled with rust. They should really be consigned to the local tip. The most recent test stamp we could find and read was 5 years old. Thoroughly unsafe to use and I’m surprised they lasted the dive.

I went diving with Lets Go yesterday and headed to Broughton Island. I wasn't disappointed! Despite the cold water (its the middle of winter) we were led by a friendly and professional dive master, Jason. We had nice, slow swim throughs of the gutters with lots of time to observe the grey nurse sharks and wobbegongs, a big eagle ray and even a turtle. For me, there is nothing worse than a divemaster that rushes through a dive with lots of finning, so I appreciated Jason's tempo. The water was a bit rough due to high winds and we were well skippered by friendly Captain Rob and made a good choice to stay in the same sheltered spot for a second dive with soups in between. I had full gear hire, and I was satisfied that it was all in good condition. Its important to me to have confidence in your hired gear. I also think the price is really fair for a 1 hour boat trip out, 2 great dives and full gear hire. Highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and professional. (I think it was) Tommy our guide made it a smooth experience and even though the water hadn't warmed up yet, we had plenty of fun and saw quite a few port Jackson sharks 🦈. As well as other little fishes 🐠🐡🐟

We were originally planning to snorkel Broughton Island but conditions were poor due to wind. Staff here gave us good info and we ended up going on their trip to Cabbage Tree Island. On first arrival we were pretty dubious - as the site looked barren and the water was full of jellyfish. We persevered and explored and discovered some wonderful spots. The range of fish species here was the best we have encountered so far. In the end we were thrilled with our experience.

Brought some goggles and fins here. There are a few workers that are great will tell you the best place to go and give you a map. If you get an older gentleman he was centancerous and unhelpful. If you want to ask questions be sure not to arrive around high tide as that's their busiest time just before high tide

Can't fault them, they are well enough organised, friendly and professional. Fly Point and The Pipeline are really good dive sites for viewing critters.

My Wife and I recently did our open water with Let's Go Adventures. Being in deep water and removing her mask caused my Wife severe anxiety, but Thomas Ellis was very relaxed and patient with her. He was able to calm her, and she got through all the exercises both in the pool and in the ocean. I am very proud of her, but even more so, I am impressed with Tom's teaching ability, and his patient manner. We got a great price on some gear once we graduated also! I would definitely recommend Let's Go Adventures for anyone considering getting their Open Water Licence.

Had a great dive with the Let's Go Adventures team at Nelson's Bay. Went out for a double boat dive and saw many grey nurse sharks, huge shoals of fish and thoroughly enjoyed they day. My partner clumsily dropped our GoPro on the first dive but the team very kindly found it for us on their dives the next day and sent it back to us which we really appreciate!!! Thank you so much for going that extra mile guys.

First time snorkeling. Didn't see as many creatures as expected, ran a bit late because some people got late, and had to change my snorkel because it was leaking, but it was still a great experience. The reason of me giving feedback is because of Mikey. We can't be thankful enough to have him looking after us. Thank you Mikey! The company should be very happy and lucky to have you working for them.

I've been diving with this dive club for many years and they very professional . They take divers to Broughton island to dive with the grey nurse sharks and also do great shore dives such as The Pipeline, Fly Point and Halifax. I highly recommend it.

My partner and I booked a double boat dive out to Broughton Island. It was incredible. Grey Nurse Sharks, Groupers, plenty of fish life. Paul, the Dive Master, was great and very helpful for those on the boat that were nervous. We ended up hiring gear another day and doing a 3rd dive, it was that good. Would highly recommend.

Was really disappointed with the service that I received at this shop. I have been a long standing customer but when it costs you at least twice as much to get your gear serviced here as it does in Newcastle you start to wonder. Also, the way in which my expensive gear was handled and the lack of records concerning it- “found your computer in a drawer” was horrifying and unprofessional. I won’t be returning and would strongly advise anyone wanting gear serviced to check other options.

Amazing staff! They are incredibly accommodating and kind. Definitely fun to dive with! The location of the shop is PRIME! Right by the marina and has a place to rinse off and clean gear which is incredibly handy. Only thing, the prices for tank and weight hire are incredibly expensive compared to every other dive shop I’ve been to. It’s not really an issue when you rent with a boat dive but getting tank and weights is more expensive than a guide for a shore dive.... seems a bit odd to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

$195 / person for 2 boat dives plus all gear.( gear was old and beaten up, my pockets were ripped beyond use) Mainly over cast windy day with 2 metre plus swell . 8 divers 1 master 1 captain. Lunch was packets of yummy cup of soup with luke warm water. Options to have 2. No stale bread or cheese offered like i read in another lucky divers review. We also had Arnotts assorted cream biscuits and selection of assorted lollies after 2nd dive with left over biscuits. Mmmmmmm 1st dive we anchored on Nth gutter shark dive site in 2m plus swell. I watched the swell approach us starboard side and break 10m past us. I knew a bigger wave would come. As I turned to see a wall of sea water i told everyone to hold on. Which they did. Immediately after the captain moved the boat to the calmer sw side. Master was a nice guy but was not loud enough or clear in delivering any instructions. 1st dive was in 3 to 5m vis. (Weather and visability is not their fault) Half an hour into dive my buddy had buoyancy problems for 10 secs then we were separated from the group. We could no longer see them. We searched for a minute and waiting for a minute then had to resurface. We were 200 m or so from the boat. We swam back. Captain asked if we were with the group and i explained we were separated. He didn't seem to be impressed with the dive master . Rest of group came back 15 mins later. DM had no concern or questions of our welfare or where abouts. I noticed 2 divers were missing. Captain did a head count and asked DM where they were. DM said they separated. Captain asked why did you let them. Captain didn't seem to be impressed. Another diver on the boat with over 1000 dives agreed wether we should be diving in this location today. 2nd dive at Cabbage tree island was much better. Better vis, a couple of wrecks, wobbegons, port jacksons etc. DM remembered he had a torch and used this so we could all see where he was. Good idea, would have been extremely useful on 1st dive. We arrive back into Port and are not informed fully of what to do. Eg filling in dive books etc. Usually you would go through info on depths, time, fish you saw etc. Asked if they still stamp dive books. A bag of stamps was pushed forward as a do it yourself gesture. No signature from DM. Yes this is a big whinge howevsr when you are paying this amount of money people should know. We dont dive often due to COVID and we dont have alot of money and when you want to put it back into the community this is disappointing.

These guys are great for anything diving and snorkeling in Port Stephens. They know the bests dive sights and you have do to the grey nurse shark dive at Broughton Island with them. They have dive courses, tank fills and gear for hire.

Great instructor and location for PADI course.

  • 1/5 Jo P. 3 years ago on Google
Absolutely appalling. I arrived at 1.30pm to be told the boat wouldn’t arrive until 2.15pm. Then I was told the boat wouldn’t arrive until 3.30pm. All because some campers who the boat was collecting hadn’t packed up and the captain chose to wait for them rather than be on time for my cruise. The owner was perfectly happy to make us wait for two hours. Getting to the island is at least 45 minutes so we would be in the water at 4.15pm. The conditions at sea would have been dreadful – windy, choppy water and poor visibility. The trip is advertised as 1pm to 5pm which is what we paid for. When I (and others) complained we were told that ‘these things happen’. This company has no interest in its customers and clearly doesn’t look for return business.
