Extremely unprofessional staff in the restaurant. We went to have a family dinner with kids. The time was 8:15 PM. The serving staff said we were late and were reluctant to arrange a table in the lawn. This was the second time that we were informed that we were late. The arrogance on the side of serving staff was not even controlled by the management. We went and spoke to the management in reception and then the story changes from we being late to the gas leak in the kitchen. I asked how the other tables were served when the gas was leaking to which he responded that they can not ask the existing customer to leave. This means that the hotel staff were compromising health and safety of their customers by cooking in a kitchen with gas leaks. Please be very careful and pray for luck to be on your side to be served at this restaurant. Note to the management - this level of arrogance and quality of customer service will not take u a long way. Train your staff to be polite and professional

Average food. Bad service on 21st Jan 9PM. We were forced to pay for a very bad dish. Ignorant service staff (Vishnu - may be fake name) pretended to be manager to resolve our issue. The positive about the place is we get Liquor at a lawn 😄 Good location. Huge potential for this property to be best in town. Service staff and manager is the curse for this wonderful property.

This review is due to multiple bad experience with this restaurant even after being a regular customer to this place. Good things first - the food is good, ambience is great with the Nila river view, they set up table in the lawn as well. Now about the bad, the customer experience. Security will allow to park the vehicle and as soon as we enter the place the stuarts say the waiting time is more than an hour and they won't allow us to wait. This was couple of months back that they refused to set up table for us on the lawn saying they can't do it. Once we went by 9 and they told the restaurant is already closed. Considering this we went at 8 today and they told there is a gas leak they can't set the table (there were uncleared tables, there were some occupied tables as well). I felt it was just a made up reason as the BAR was functioning and other people were having their meals. So if you are nearby I would not recommend this place and it's only due to the arrogant behaviour of the staff.

Overall it was an amazing experience staying at river retreat. We chose the river view room and the view from the room was extremely pleasing directly overlooking the river. The service was pretty good and all the staff were extremely helpful. The standout thing for me though was the food. Hats off to the chef at river retreat - everything we ordered right from starters to main course was extremely good! If you are looking for a weekend getaway in nature's lap, look no further than river retreat.

One of the worst experiences , we went for dinner recently and the we were waiting for the table to be cleaned so that we could sit. There were 3 people serving and all of them were politely spo ken to and told that we are waiting for the table to be cleaned ,to our horror no one came and cleaned the table. We were 3 of us including 2 senior citizens and we were standing besides the table for 36 mins ,I have travelled so much throughout the world and nowhere have I seen this kind of service , utter disregard to customers and no remorse shown ,never trust this place!!

I didn't have a chance to visit any of the rooms when I was there for a wedding. But I will say this: the place is excellent. Despite being close to the road, the interior is a really calm and quiet spot. incredibly tidy and clean. You'll adore the ambiance. They offer an excellent venue that may be used for weddings and other events. The dining hall is excellent as well. They are each equipped with air conditioning. The banks of the Bharathappuzha River are home to this heritage. The river is yours to appreciate from this place. They offer plenty of parking, lovely rooms, hallways, a playground, a swimming pool, and most importantly, a calm, refreshing ambiance that will truly assist us to take a break from the everyday grind and relax for a while

Location is good. Swimming pool is small and enough depth is only in the middle. We stayed in Ayurveda block. The bathrooms were big but not cleaned properly, the wall mixer was leaking. Cobweb was there everywhere and cleaning is not all proper. Overall a gloomy looking interior at a nice location.

Went for a get together with friends. Food and ambience was excellent. Had a nice time. A couple of Chinese dishes we ordered were spicy and that wasn't expected. Didn't have anything Arabian on the menu which would be a good add on.

Absolutely in love with this place. They do have the beautiful ambience all around the resort. Well maintained surrounding and well mannered employees. Great customer services. They do have one of the finest beautiful infinity pool facing towards the famous Bharatapuzha. They also provide a space especially for kids to play. Calm and quite surrondings with all that greenery around you help us to relax a lot. Even tariffs are also very reasonable for the rooms. And the food they serve too are also very tasty and delicious. Just loved it

A very beautiful place to spend with family and friends with amazing food and mesmerizing scenic beauty.

We stayed there for a family wedding and really enjoyed the stay. The original buildings are beautiful and they have maintained them well and decorated them in the old style. The newer part of the hotel has a wonderful view of the river, the only thing I wish is that they had built and decorated it to match the style of the original buildings. The food was fabulous, the service staff extremely attentive, particularly Anchit, who waited on us in the restaurant (and for the lawn dining in the evening, which was beautiful) and Manuel, who helped organize our family dinner the night before the wedding. The grounds are lovely, our nephew loved the pool, which was right on the river. We also had Ayurvedic massages which were amazing!.

Me and my husband visited with our small baby. They have a beautiful view of the river, went there for lunch. You must reserve before, there is not much seating at the restaurant. When we arrived there was a big office team visiting, luckily we had reserved beforehand else we wouldn't be allowed. Also must mention that the staff is very courteous, will definitely visit or stay again.

Great Resort to spent time with friends and family. The food, ambiance and the location is really beautiful. A very good Place for a peaceful stays and enjoys the weekend. You can arrange family get together, Wedding reception, Birthday parties etc.

Its a nice place to stay with family. We were comfortable with the room and food. There is a children's park and a swimming pool. There is a good panoramic view of Bharatapuzha and paddy field from here. The staffs are well behaved. Overall, its a family friendly place.

In the evening we went as a family for an outside lawn dinner. The atmosphere was good. For a star hotel the chairs were just average. Like a normal chair in marriage halls. Only one kids chair, which is not sufficient for a good hotel. Food was just ok. Not great for the price. Totally average 🙂

Good location,good rooms, good ambience on the background of Nila, excellent restaurant service and food but disappointed with late night service as it was not available. Nobody was available at night. Difficult to manage with family if an emergency situation comes. Not upto a 4 star rated hotel.

An ayurvedic resort that offers a very pleasant stay experience. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Our room had a spectacular view of the paddy fields. The resort has a lot of space to stroll around, has a small play area for children, and has a well maintained swimming pool for both children and adults. They have a courtyard seating restaurant besides the indoor area. The outdoor restaurant is by the side of the serene Bharathapuzha, and one can totally relax to soothing music while having dinner at the outdoor restaurant. Overall, the experience at the resort was very good.!

A scenic resort situated in Bank of Bharathapuzha. This resort is very near to Shornur railway station(largest railway station in kerala) and kerala kalamandalam . Resort is less crowded and I use to visit for day outing with Family. One of finest destination for outdoor wedding photography.

Good ambiance and atmosphere, well behaved staff, we'll designed interiors and exteriors, good housekeeping and engineering departments. The whole property is very well maintained and maintenance is of top notch where other properties lacks. Had lunch, coffee, tea and refreshments which tasted moderately good. They have an Ayurvedic spa, Swimming pool, Restaurant with river view, Bar, Banquet halls which can accommodate up to 1000 pax, Play area for kids as well as adults to untie your worries. One side of the resort is river and the other side is paddy field. So it's really windy which keeps you stay refreshed even though you spend time outside your rooms. The rooms are pretty decent and we'll maintained in typically Kerala architecture. CONS:- The entry is not kept clean as it is a dump yard of unused vehicles caught by Police department due to several reasons. Room 501 & 502 has got a wooden sculpture kept outside the rooms as part of the decor which is really dangerous. Even though we felt it while taking the rooms; we kept quiet. But soon our little daughter hit her face on that and narrowly escaped without injuring her eyer. Hope management will look to reposition it where there is less proximity. Overall it's a good place to enjoy especially in that area with a pocket friendly rate.

This is far one of the best places to stay at Thrissur. 4 star property with actual 4star services, Amenities and hospitality excellent... Staff is extremely cordial, helpful team, always ready to provide best services. They made us our stay comfortable and luxurious. We want to come again and again...... Stay there and feel the VIBE....

The river retreat by the name is adjacent to a beautiful river flowing nearby and just showcases partially Kerala style designs and patterns. The rooms are elegant, decent no frills and mostly will be preferred by the entertainment industry or western tourist just for their recreatment and other facilities like Ayurveda etc. The lawn by the river is a beautiful place to relax and small parties can be organized. There is a small play area for children. The property as such is not large.The rooms are bit expensive and its strictly no for budget travelers.

River Retreat is a real treat of hospitality and comfort for the guests. We had our stay here twice for an occasion. Right from the person at the Security to the office management, all are down to earth in their attitude. Their restaurant offers great tasty food. Would like to thank Mr Rijo for helping us out in all possible ways to make our occasion a real celebration. Irrespective of the position, the management offers ample of helping hands. Visited the resort to attend a wedding reception. A very calm and relaxing outdoors. You see green everywhere. A large old kerala tradition roof tiled classy building ambushed in the green. The wedding hall is immensely spacious with a side facing the river. On the banks of a river, the place is perfect for any outdoor event ! The car parking space is pretty decent.

Stayed in 606/twin on the 27-28th of Jan 2021..Rooms were nice, but hot water was provided only on the second day, beverages to rooms were brought after 1 hour from order, cleanliness of the room was terrible as there were spider webs hanging down the ceiling...lift/escalator hardly worked, had to take the stairs all the way to 2nd floor...food at the restaurant was min 45 mins late on the first day 27th at lunch time.. Reserved the rooms weeks ago under the name Cherian/Alex...when we arrived to checkin, we had to wait 30 mins as they said the rooms are being done currently...terrible service!

The experience was pretty mediocre. Had a bit of a tough time negotiating with the front desk for a balcony room which itself was nothing special compared to the price paid. Food was ok but serious limitation on the choice due to covid budget cuts. There could be better choices of hotels for this particular price range.

Just no manager/management in place. They are doing multiple bookings for spa, massage and providing no updates to guests. Had my appointment directly made with 444 replaced with an appointment through reception. There are no words to define attitude and behavior of the male massage therapist. Called him at 8.30 on day of appointment and he agreed to call back in an hour. Waited over and hour for the call and then left for breakfast. He blamed me for not taking his calls later.

We had an amazing experience after we held our wedding there recently. The location is ideal to host a big group and is very scenic, which gave us the possibility to take beautiful pictures for lasting memories. The staff is very cordial and the food is great too. Highly recommend this location for a relaxing stay or a heart warming event.

Since the purpose of staying in such a resort is to mainly enjoy the rooms and services provided. The staffs and their service were great, quality of the breakfast was amazing but the rooms provided were not up to the mark. Rooms provided were not clean and the kitchen was basically unusable. Other than that everything else including the ambience was nice.

Good ambience. The place is ideal for conducting meeting and other functions for a large group. They can easily accommodate around 100 cars also. Beautiful location by the river. Property is well maintained. There is a swimming pool as well as ayurveda center.

Find the staff behavior somewhat rude. We had gone there for dinner, consisting of 9 people. Requested lawn service which they declined due to bad weather. But the way they responded to the request was somewhat very rude. Service was very slow, disappointed

We had a 2day wedding gala at the Resort, and it was absolutely faultless. Wedding was mid November, the Bharatapuzha was full and lush. Our mandap in the Lawns looked so beautiful! Our rooms were clean and ample, food spectacular and the staff helpful and kind. I had my dream wedding and am absolutely over the moon.

The River Retreat Heritage Ayurvedic Resort is one of the best resort in Cheruthuruthy in Thrissur District I went there with my family fl and it's an awesome location to relax with our family. The view of Bharathapuzha River , Good Rooms,Traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma Treatments, Play area for kids , Restaurant services etc are there I truly recommend this resort for those who wish to stay and enjoy with family.

We celebrated a family wedding at this resort. The location is beautiful. The resort & the rooms are quite clean. The staff is very cooperative & accommodating to special requests. We lost a precious item, which was returned to us after we had departed. So Kudos!
