This place is inspiring and peaceful. I love the flowers 🌺 on the trees and bushes. So many different species of magnolias and trees. I am coming back here! The cherry blossoms or maybe what they call Sakura Trees are very beautiful right now they are in bloom don’t miss out on this experience.

Nice peaceful green space for a walk. The park is very well maintained and easy to navigate. The Japanese garden isn’t free but worth visiting. On weekends or when the weather is nice, parking can be full.

Such a beautiful place for a nice stroll. I love the variety of trees and all the walking paths. We were lucky to visit during the fall so we saw some of the leaf color changes and enjoyed amazing weather. There are public restrooms available and the place is clean and inviting. I definitely recommend a visit if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Went here once for an evening walk after work. It was lot bigger than I thought. It's a pretty park for walking or going for a bike ride. There are several places to park around this park. When you walk to the water, you can see that it's a good place to picnic. Would recommend this park. It’s free to enter

Fantastic! Tons of trails, paved and unpaved, flat or hilly. Something for every level. So many beautiful trees! Especially in the Spring with all the blossoms. Perfect for children, families or just a solo stroll. A great place to picnic in a grassy spot. Clean, well maintained. The perfect place to walk your dog on a leash!!

Just explored the Japanese garden. It’s a pretty small area and feels to made up and not natural. There aren’t any signs to know about the plants/trees around. We did find parking very easily. Felt the 10$ pp entry fee was a lot given the area of the garden and pretty much nothing to do

Beautiful public park showcasing all the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Nice well manicured walking trails, a Japanese garden ($10 entry), flowers, trees, gazebos and lush vegetation. Highly recommend a visit. Best of all there is no entry fee.

This is a magic place, I love the smell of the trees. This is a perfect spot to get away within the city, I love the little hidden trails, I love that you can find a bench to sit everywhere, I love the amount of grass for you to have picnics and the incredible sights. Recommended for alone time, for social time, friends, dates and family. This place is welcoming for every soul.

I love the Japanese garden here. It's very well maintained and elegantly laid out. Good place for a date. You can walk through quickly if you want but if you take your time I'd budget an hour. There's fish in the pond and the changing leaves are beautiful to see in October. They offer tea ceremonies but we've never gone. It's $10 a person with various lower rates for kids and seniors. Parking is usually available in the lot next to it.

The arboretum is a lovely and relatively flat hike. The variety of plants is very nice. I suspect I missed the peak of the flowers as I went in mid-May, but they were still quite nice. Do be aware that while the arboretum is free, there's a fee for the Japanese garden.

Lovely space to spend an entire day, walk around or plan a picnic when the weather allows. Make sure to bring some packed lunch or snacks since there isn't any cafe inside the park. There are a few coffee places outside the park where you can pick up a meal. Very scant restrooms too!

This garden is gorgeous, more than I expected. If you want to enjoy some incredible scenery while breathing fresh air, this garden is a must-to-go place for anyone. I enjoy going here with friends, making some small talks with them while taking care of my mental and physical healthy.

On a nice summer day, I love strolling thru the park, kick back and have a nice picnic. Lots of great hiking/walking trails in the park. Easy to moderate so good for all ages. My favorite time to come here is Fall and Winter. The beautiful vibrant colors fulfilled the park in the Fall and the wonderful aroma of Witch-hazel, Daphne, Winter jasmine, Camellia, and Sarcococca in the winter garden.

World class arboretum in the middle of downtown Seattle next to the University of Washington. Incredible! Indigenous and imported plants in a park lake garden setting. That is so incredibly well maintained with miles of trails and beauty. Demanding your attention regardless of the season. Just got back and I am in love all over again and there are so many little sub areas like this special Japanese garden that is truly amazing. Always a favorite and this is a definite must stop as you are traveling through the Seattle area

Great hiking trail! So many things to explore and just take nature in. The area is huge and great for nature photography with lots of room for creativity. My favorite spot was the Japanese Maple. It's especially beautiful when the weather is nice and warm with some sun out.

Washington Arboretum is a big urban green space with a nice walk/bike loop. The loop is paved and well maintained, I enjoy very much coming here for a run in the morning, it's always quiet and peaceful, and the different trails make it pretty fun too. Makes sure to check out Foster Island in the north, it's a nice spot for picnic and got great bay view. You can follow the trail all the way to East Montlake Park.

Is there another rating available that is relevant? To see this area in the fall is to be overcome by the beauty of contrast and texture of all the colors there. I don't think I have ever seen a more striking example of natural beauty- wet and muddy, but inspiring and humbling none the less.

Awesome Park with lots of trails to explore. Well-maintained but still feels "wild". Beautiful pathways through the trees, including some Giant Sequoias (Redwoods). I recommend a trail map, or just use Google maps for a general idea, though they don't show all the trails. Japanese Garden closes early and last entry is 1 hour before closing, so double check their website and don't just rely on the information on Google maps. You can still see into the Japanese Garden a little bit from the trails in the rest of the park that go around the outside of the Japanese Garden. No charge for admission to the general Washington Park, but the Japanese Garden does charge. We came too late for that and were actually glad we didn't spend the money, because the rest of the park is amazing!

Insane fall colors. The perfect place to take a stroll in Seattle. Even with the rain, you’re usually sort of covered by the trees. This is my new favorite spot. I highly recommend checking it out before all the fall leaves drop. Great trails. Awesome place to go on run or walk.

The best place to walk your dog, or take a psychedelic trip on a 3 day weekend, full of wildlife and wonderful views. Carefully curated scenes are full of hidden paths and plants from around the world. I went two days in a row and it wasn't quite enough to see everything.

This is an amazing place to visit if you're a nature lover. Even if you're not, it will make you a nature lover. The azaleas were so fragrant that you could smell them from a distance. It's free to go here but it's $10 admission for adults to get into the Japanese Garden (which I recommend).

The Japanese garden was very nice. The park overall was also very nice, but much more of a city park than a real Arboretum. There was little to know educational aspect to it at all. Note that we did NOT go into the Visitor Center - just walked the full length of the Arboretum and back.

Beautiful haven within the city! We started walking on the north side of the park and made our way down to the Japanese garden. The flora in this park is diverse and extraordinary. We loved exploring the different trees that were brought in from parts of Asia. The trails are well defined and overall, this is a fabulous spot to run/walk/feast your eyes on open, green spaces!

Washington Park is truly a breathtaking place to visit. There is a variety of places to walk/hike as the park is quite large! I love seeing the different species of the firs and madronas and I just adore the tree tunnels near the entrance. 🌲 Anyone who appreciates flora will love this park. 🌺🌸 It's a great place to exercise as well.

Lovely park to take the family for a day-outing. We hiked several trails and then finished up with a picnic in the park then another hour in the playground area for the kids. We Learned much about the vegetation, where those varieties came from and more interesting info.

Love this park for a nice walk, run or hike. Always amazing foliage every time of the year. Love the atmosphere and it is conveniently located close to most neighborhoods in Seattle. Can be nice for a romantic date, family walk or picnic or a workout!

We had a really nice walk through the Japanese gardens. Right now the maples are gorgeous with the changing seasons. I'm planning to go back this winter to see how it's changed.

Nice place for a picnic. A lot of people come over for photoshoots too. if watching fall colours is your top agenda, would suggest checking out the Japanese garden attached with the arboretum. Note that the Japanese garden accepts admission on reservation only, and there's usually a 2hr wait for walk-ins. The arboretum is free. On weekends, parking can be a problem.

My son had.a.soccer game on the turf field. The game shared the parking lot with the Japanese garden. My son was tired so we didn't want to spend the admission fee to the Japanese garden while not fully committed. The bathrooms were nice. There was a.playground.
