Good trekking experience which offers beautiful views of surrounding lush green areas. It's a medium difficulty level. It will take one hour to reach the top. Each and every level provides astounding views of nature. This hill has a historical connection to pandavas. It's a best trek for beginners. Best to witness a sunrise. I hope you find this review helpful.

Kunti betta is really awesome for night trek specially. Day trek won't be that exciting as it's not at much altitude and takes roughly 2hrs. In the night finding the route with arrow symbol makes it more exciting for trekkers. We reached around 3am and slept after having some snacks.

A good but short hike, plenty of parking available at the school. There are two hills from the temple side, Kunti betta is the second one in rear. Do not start your hike at the one which starts at the temple; that one is risky and troublesome. There is another path which kind of goes around the first hill and approaches the KB from the side. See the first image below to identify the path (where the scootie are parked between the trees the path starts from there). There are marking on the rocks, when you are up there, which are almost faded away but in the start of the trek it is hard to find the right way so if possible ask a local to help you in start. The whole hike might take 0.5hrs to get to the top for normal person.

If you love hikes and if you are around Pandavapura, you cannot miss the Kunti betta trek early in the morning or a night trek here! We started our trek at 4 am in the morning and it was quite dense and dark during this time. We somehow managed to climb the hill with our mobile torch lights. Every stop we took & started to observe the sky it was mesmerising & so beautiful. One can easily the climb the first huge rock within 30 mins. There’s another hill opposite to this which is called Onake Betta. That takes a lot of patience and dedication to climb! Overall a brilliant hill to climb to see breathtaking views from the top of Pandavpura settlements🫶🏽❣️

This trek is for beginners or anyone who is looking at laid back treks around Bangalore. It's around 140 to 150 km from Bangalore city. Start the hike around 5 am to reach the peak to witness the sunrise. The climb up top is pretty decent and can be completed easily in an hour.

One of the best early morning/sunrise trekking place. • It will take 45mins to reach the peak. • There are no shops nearby, so plan accordingly. • There are 2 ways to reach the peak. You have to trek two hills if you take route 1(preferred trail). You can skip the 1st small hill by taking the second route (it's better to use this route while returning from the peak).

My trekking experience started out with this place. Had been to this place in 2013 along with Wipro Colleagues. Back in those days it was not very well known and not crowded too. Had a fantastic time here. There is a big waterbody nearby which is a small drive and worth visiting. Both together can be a good one day trip. Photos are from 2013 and mobile images. Recent days people are posting very nice photos of this place.

Wonderful place for beginner trekkers. Good trekking experience which offers beautiful views of surrounding lush green areas. It's a medium difficulty level. It might hardly take 30 minutes to reach the top. Beginners might need more time if you take breaks in between. Each and every level provides astounding views of nature. Good Trekking place for both Sunrise and Sunset, It nearby to Mysore, Mandya Panduvpura. there is like 2 paths to climb at starting. After going to hill top you can find arrows to climb to hill top like it will consume 30 - 60 minutes to climb accordingly nice view from the hill top, some slides look dangerous before you try. Enjoy, Experience and Don't Litter the place

•Must visit place, especially for sunrise. •Do carry a water bottle with you while climbing up. Do not litter for god's sake! •Trek level is beginners friendly. There are two viewpoints, gives the same view bit with same height and fun. Just be careful during the initial trek cuz' the rock is a bit slippery there. Don't forget to visit the temple there. •While you're about to reach the location don't rely on maps ask the locals instead. •Spend some good time there, breath fresh air and enjoy life!

Real good place for a one day trip, along with a visit to a lake nearby-Thonnur lake. The trek is a beginners trek, climb is around 45 mins at medium pace. Recommended for a night trek as the weather at this time is very pleasent and the trail isnt too dangerous. There are green arrow markings on the rocks that lead to the peak, so it isn't that easy to lose your way either. You can pitch tents on the peak under the stars nad wait out for the sunrise , which is extremely picturesque at this location, the noise of the peacocks in the morning as a bonus :) Go here if you want some headspace from the city with some peace and amazing views !

Best place to hangout, trek for a day and enjoy the beautiful view of the nature. People from Bangalore and Mysore can plan for a day. 2 hills are there, can trek both which has different views. It's not a restricted place. You will enjoy with a group.

I've been here twice, once in May-July 2016 on a weekend, and the second time on a weekday in September 2016. The trail begins from a temple. The school just before the temple serves as a parking ground, but be considerate of not parking at an inconvenient location in the field. The ascent on a rocky surface, right where the trail begins, is quite slippery. Weekdays are quite deserted, weekends are crowded. It was a good trekking experience, although there are several options much closer to the city.

Lots of basic rock climbing, sometimes through narrow gaps between giant rocks. Not a very long terk though, good for 1st trek. It was my 1st one so felt a bit difficult. Don't go there with Football Boots, it's painful.

It's a nice trek for beginners! It takes about an hour to get to the top. There's parking right below the starting point. The trail can get a little confusing as the small green arrows can be missed quite easily. Carry water bottles as there are no sources of water around. The nearest town is pandavapura which is about 10 minutes away by car. There's also a lake just behind the hill where you can go boating.

It's a very good place for a one day hangout around Bangalore. The trek route is easy to moderate and it'll be very fun to hang out with the group. Some places on the trek route will be slippery, should be careful. There are two trek routes, one will be easy and one will be easy to moderate, would suggest one to climb with a moderate route and take an easy route while coming down.

Kunti Betta is an absolute gem! Nestled amidst nature's embrace, this hill is a tranquil escape that captivates with its breathtaking beauty. The lush greenery and serene atmosphere create a perfect retreat for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway. As you ascend, the panoramic views unfold, painting a picturesque canvas of nature's wonders. The trek to the top is a delightful journey, weaving through nature's bounty. The cool breeze whispers secrets of the hill, and the rustling leaves provide a soothing soundtrack. Once you reach the summit, the vista is simply awe inspiring, making the effort entirely worthwhile. Whether you're an avid trekker or someone looking for a rejuvenating day out, Kunti Betta offers an experience like no other. It's not just a hill; it's a haven where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of Karnataka's landscape. The memories created here are like snapshots of serenity, etched in the heart. If you're seeking a slice of paradise away from the hustle, Kunti Betta is where nature unfolds its most enchanting chapters.

Kunti Betta is a place of great historical significance. It is believed that the five Pandava brothers and their mother Kunti stayed in the caves here during their exile (vanavasa) of12 years. The hillock was Kunti’s favourite spot as she spent a lot of her time here; hence the hills are named Kunti Betta. At the top of the hill is a utensil shaped rock and a rock pestle; it is said she used to cook and grind food here during their exile, hence this hill is also known as Onake Betta (onake means pestle in Kannada). These hills were previously called ‘French Rocks’ as the French army who had helped Tipu Sultan in his war against the British used this place as their camping ground.

Take electrolytes if you are going after dawn. If you miss the markers, trek could get difficult. I missed the route twice I ended up climbing a huge rock on the way up instead of a easier foot path. Go with someone who know the route or in a group. I went alone because it’s more adventurous.

  • 4/5 Chandrakanth R. 4 months ago on Google
Here in maps it says the place is closed at 5PM. But there was no such closure during our visit today. Started from Mysore around 4PM, reached the trek start point in less than an hour and then witnessed a wonderful sunset. And to our surprise there was the full moon as well at the same time. The downside of trekking during the evening is that one doesn't get to spend more time. A quick trek up the hill to witness sunset and descending before it gets dark is still a possible option.

  • 5/5 Rajat G. 3 years ago on Google
Good experience! People get confused about the trek path, some people think it's only a 10 minute trek while it actually takes around an hour. Do bring someone with you who has already been here so that you can easily find your away. Also for the first timers, the path can get incredibly confusing while coming down, so be aware and mark the way you came from. Wear pants, there are many thorns. Also keep a water bottle of 1ltr because you will need it, trust me. Try visiting on weekdays because there will be less people around.

It's a small hill with total distance(up and down) of around 3kms. There are 2-3 ways to reach the top. If you are going for the first time, I suggest you go with someone who has already been there because you can easily get lost as there is no straight path. View is good from the top. Bottom of the hill is good for picnic.

Amazing place for trekking!! The view from the top just redeems the effort spent to climb to the top of the hill. I would recommend to trek to this place at early mornings. It would be like a exercise too, and the view is just breathe taking It's just 35-40kms from Mysore.

Kunti betta is really awesome for early morning trekking . Pls go to the trekking point by 5:30 am morning , so that you can enjoy the sunrise on top of the hills. Overall this is easy to moderate trekking, distance of trekking is around 1.2 km onside and 2.5 kms overall. No shops nearby , pls carry water bottle and snacks. Do not litter and save nature and enjoy the beauty of hills.

  • 5/5 Pulak D. 6 months ago on Google
Moderate to high trekking. But there is lack of a clear path to proceed. There are 2 hills. First the smaller hill followed by the main hill. In google, try to follow the route to the trek start point where the temple is situated. No shops near by, hence carry your own stuff.

  • 4/5 Mohammed Momeen K. 1 year ago on Google
I would categorize this more into Rock Climbing Activity. You can reach the highest point of the hill where a Stone Pillar is erected and can be see through a distance. There are two ways of getting there - 1. Through the Rock Climbing Activity - take the 45 degree slope hill which you immediately see and you'll reach atop and smaller hill. Then climb down and find your way to the next hill. Caution - The final climb comes with slight fear and be careful. 2. Walk along the kaccha road and make your way to the top. ( This is the way you use when coming down, if following the rock climbing path ) - No Entry Fee - Ample parking space - 2 to 3 hours of trek time - Have shoes, Hat and Sunscreen - Take water with you I would recommend to trek early in the morning. Please don't litter !!

Kunti betta is neither too easy and definitely not difficult! First time trekkers will do it, with some breaks. There are very helpful localites who will come with you for small fee, which worked out good for us! You will climb first hill and then you will see actual Kunti betta. There's a way to avoid first hill, but preferably go for both hills! Ensure you go with footwear that has got good grip. Otherwise there are lot of places where you might slip. Total trek including lots of photo ops time took about 3-4 hours! View at top and in between is amazing! Overall I call it a satisfying trek!

Scenic place, lil difficult to trek since there is no proper path to the top. You will have to find your way through the dense bushes. Friendly people discussed about the hill top. Surrounded with sugar cane farms and Jaggery factory's. Come explore the nature and enjoy. Please avoid littering.

Right in the outskirts of Bangalore, Kunti Betta is perfect for a one day trip. This a trek for Beginners level as the difficulty of this trek is very less. Make sure you start early so that you don't miss the Sunrise.

  • 4/5 Karen S. 3 years ago on Google
Good trek for beginners. I believe the hill with the flag of Hanuman on the top is the main one or the ones that most of the people choose to trek. However it would take only around 45 minutes max to reach the top, so you could start with the other smaller peaks and then do this one at the end or do one of the other peaks first and then do this one. You do not need a tour guide to trek here, although it might be a little hard at some places to climb by yourself without any support; atleast on the steeper boulders.

  • 5/5 Avinash 3 years ago on Google
One of the easiest trek place yet mind blowing view at the peak. thianplace is situated near padavapura taluk of Mandya district, Karnataka. Best time to start trekking is at 6:00am. One need around 40 min to 1 hourto reach top. You can park your cars/bikes at the bottom of the hill where there is a govt school ground is there. You can also stay overnight at the top with your own tents. Must visit place if you live nature and trekking.

Awesome place for Trekking, Some local loafers will show knife and demand for money. Keep an extra knife to screwup these kinds of people. Except this it is a good place for camping too. We had recently trekked here. Before trekking carry all your necessary items with you and climb up (trek) the hill ASAP. Because if it is too late, it is very difficult to trek the hill.
