One of the beautiful temple near by Mysore... It's located in Mandya district but close to Mysore at 13km on Bangalore-Mysore road. We went here after our Mysore trip while coming back to Bangalore... Got a good darshanam of Ranganathaswamy (lord Vishnu)... Felling so Peace and Blessed... Must place to visit... If you like you can enjoy horse ride as well here... Just outside the temple...

Very old temple, as per record it is 1050 years old but actually it is older than that. Different dynasties have repaired the temples and have mixed architecture inside from vijaynagara empire, hoysala architecture and wodeyar empire. This is adi ranga of pancha ranga khetra of south and located near Kavery river ghat. Inside ambience is serene and outside architecture is very good with large temple premise. Here we can observe Vishu in lying position on serpent coil in form of Ranganathaswamy, from which entire place is called Srirangapatna or the place of sri Ranga.

No matter what religious beliefs you hold, this temple will amaze you with its marvellous architecture. What a piece of art! This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Sri Ranganatha Swami) - I must say I was lucky enough to behold the murti without standing any queue, without paying any darshan charges that too on a weekend. The specialty of the Vishnu Murti here is his sleeping position on Adishesha Naag with seven hoods and debi Lakshmi is near the feet. This temple is one of the oldest Vishnu temples in India and each wall, each pillar of this temple curved with immense care and devotion. Huge parking place, lots of puja offering stores, food stores and auto stand available outside the temple.

The river near the temple is serene and really clean. Taking a dip in it, really gives a soul-refreshing feeling. There is also facility rooms on the shore for women to dress-up, making the whole hassle of being in an unknown place easy to navigate. Visit on a Sunday was a clear invitation for getting lost in the crowd. However, although it took 45 minutes to get Darshana, every minute of it is worth it. The divine grace of god's deity is a feast for our eyes and a heartwarming rejuvenation on our auras.

The temple is amazing. You get a very divine and peaceful experience if there's not much rush. Weekend morning hours was when I visited and was able to complete the Darshan with ₹50 ticket per person. The normal queue was also not long; might have taken 15-20 minutes extra. The courtyard is quite big and maintenance is also ok. Parking options available on the ground in front of the temple entrance. Footwear stand is also available.

Very nice temple. Pleasant atmosphere. Cleanliness maintained. There are many gods to worship. I would recommend to visit this temple after 6pm because there is scorching heat over here. I have also uploaded some details about this temple in the photos given below.

Must visit temple & very old temple dedicated to lord vishnu. According to the Archaeological survey of India , the temple is one of considerable antiquity. An inscription at the temple reveals it was constructed in 984 CE by a local chief called Tirumalaiah, a vassal of the western ganga dynasty. Earlier mentions of the existence of the deity at Srirangapatna have been made, this indicates that a temple was likely built atop an already existing shrine of Ranganathaswami. VIP entry is available for only rs 50 to Darshan Idol. Parking & washroom available near to temple.

A majestic temple with beautiful carvings. The place is calm and has good scenery around. This temple is dedicated to Lord Ranganatha swamy. A lot of parking space available. When we visited, the temple was almost empty and we had a good darshan. Do visit on weekdays for a peaceful darshan and to enjoy the surroundings.

The place is good, and the best part is the river which is filled now and the view is awesome. But make sure that you don't go swimming as the currents are too high. The temple is preserved well so you will like it.

Please do visit the temple once. The culture as well as the architecture will impress each person. VIP line cost is 100 or 70 and normal is 30 or 20. No need to take VIP as at the end everyone will become a single line. It will take around an hour to get Darshan of Lord Vishnu. Try to visit on weekdays and weekends are crowded.

The temple was established 1200 years ago . The temple reflects extraordinary architecture and sculptures made at that point of time when there was no machines existed. Salute to those artists who build the temple with so love and care ❤️

Sri Ranganathaswami temple, located in Srirangapatna, Karnataka, is a beautiful and historic temple dedicated to the Hindu god Ranganatha. The temple is situated on an island in the river Kaveri and has considerable antiquity. The temple complex is well-maintained and has a serene atmosphere. The intricate carvings and sculptures are a testament to the skill and craftsmanship of ancient Indian artisans. The temple’s architecture is awe-inspiring, and it’s easy to get lost in its beauty. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in Indian history, culture, and spirituality. I highly recommend this temple to anyone visiting Srirangapatna or nearby areas. Hope this helps, Thank you!

Since I was a tourist... I would explain a tourist pov(point of view) It indeed has ancient sculptures but a tourist wouldn't enjoy it as much as he does palace. But in a spiritual point of view one can enjoy the positive atmosphere around.and taste a wonderful piligrimage.. In a nutshell, it's okay!

Very old temple is an architectural marvel god knows what kind of technology they used to get up such big granite beams to such height and fixed it in perfect alignment. Watchout for nice carving on the granite..place is clean and not much crowd on a Monday. U can buy souvenir outside the temple Start bargaining from 1/3 the rate then they will give you at half rate..

Very old and historic temple with lot of historic value. But very poor maintaintenance or you can say no maintenance at all. Unfortunately no photography allowed inside of the temple. No cleanliness at all. There is also a special queue for the direct "Darshanam", of course with handsome money!!! No tourist or pilgrims basic facilities provided. But yet must visit place. There is a small market outside of the temple.

The amount of intricacy in the temple’s carvings and its the statues are magnificent. Once you take a look at this, you would admire the patience of the people 1200 years ago.The deity statue inside is huge and it is beautiful. Good way to start off your tour through Srirangapatnam. There are few market places nearby. The temple priests are extremely professional with their behaviour. All in all, to get a view of what the Wadiyad dynasty built, this is an extremely well built temple.

This is one of the five sacred sites that are togetherly known as Pancharanga Kshetrams("five Rangams or Ranganathas") in Southern India. Ranganatha is the other name for Lord Vishnu. We were blessed to visit this place and were able to seek blessing from Lord Vishnu. Photography inside temple is strictly prohibited. Outside the temple you can buy handmade artifacts from the locals.

Ancient temple of ranganatha swamy in Srirangam has very spacious prangana. Has to cross 7 gopuram to have darshana, first gopuram is easily half kilo meter away from ranganatha swamy idol. We went for 3 ranga darshana, it was 4 PM when we reached Srirangam. It was 5.38 when we finished darshana of special queue of rs. 250. Queue can be managed better and avoid VIP, VVIP influences for better management.

I feel Indians are blessed to have such rich culture and heritage. Hope people value and retain. It’s a beautiful temple.each wall , art form , the lord statue . All is so beautiful. We need to ensure that we protect and preserve our culture and heritage. This is not to impose the rituals on people but to connect with it at higher levels. Everyone must visit . Thankfully it was not that crowded , so we could have peaceful darshan

Sri Rangaswamy Temple is one of the beautiful temples in Srirangapatanam with its beautiful architecture. The temperature inside the temple is cool which gives us a relaxing environment. Inside the temple you could see the main deity surrounded by a number of other deities around the temple. The place has a free parking. The place doesn't allow photography inside the temple.
