If you're visiting Mysore, you should go to this place. Small boats can be chartered over the river for 100 (our full tour) or 50 (half distance) for only 50 each. I loved this place personally. Be sure to bring extra clothing when going to the waterfall.

Beautiful place. Suggest to reach early morning as it will be less crowded. You can also enjoy the boating (teppa) at a cost of 50 per head for half round and 100 for full round. The water levels are full so swimming is restricted on one side.

Superb for water lovers the water flow is medium. Much careful of sharp stones and glass pieces under the water. The place has improved lot pay and use toilets, parking facilities. Police is doing the job good. But be careful in water. Food is awesome for fish lovers. Totally good place with family friends or couple to swim or enjoy in water. Be careful of sharp stones.

Fantastic falls. Just loved the moments here with friends. The water is so clean and lots of people enjoyed the waterfall. Rocks are bit slippery to reach the actual fall, slow and steady reach the fall to enjoy most memorable experience in your life. Police are bit strict as they donโ€™t allow to climb up. It makes us so fresh and loved the water massage for free. Cauvery river water is so pure and its providing water for farmers constantly. Parking available at โ‚น30, horse rides, foods and restaurants. Enjoy the time with friends and family.

It's a small check dam. If water overflows then there will be a 6feet water fall. We visited in April end, being summer there was no water fall. Still good place to visit for family. Kids will have fun in the shallow water overflowing from the dam. The check dam itself is not very deep, 4 ft at one end and 10ft at the other end. Good for swimming too. There are small boats, circular wooden ones, run by locals to go around in the waters. There is a lord Shiva temple, well maintained and on the water border. Few eateries available for snacks and drinks. Not any lunch options though.

Another of the nice destinations in Mysore. It's a place of fun and you can enjoy a lot here. I would suggest to carry additional clothing if you are planning to come down to the waters. There is a check dam on one side and bridge on the other side. Not much food options are available at the spot but you can get food items from nearby. There is a small temple as well near the dam. I went there during the summer so the water level was low, you can try going some other time of the year when water level is high. Mornings would be best time to visit as it gets sunny in the afternoon.

We enjoyed it there a lot. Car Entry charges Rs 30. You can spend a few hours. You can enjoy local food veg/non veg near the bridge. You will find a temple near the entrance as well. Sufficient parking lot.

A very serene place to go with friends and family. You can enjoy swimming here and the view is amazing. Swimming in deep waters will be restricted. It will be crowded during weekends. You can find changing rooms and toilets so get an extra pair of dresses if you are willing to get into the water. Overall a relaxing and fun getaway. There are food stalls nearby and you can find majority of fish stalls.

The only thing I donโ€™t like that much about this place is, the water is not that clean. This is an artificial falls that also acts as a small reservoir. You need to be very careful when you want to take a dip. The surroundings are a lot slippery and I do not recommend elders to visit this place. There are a lot of restaurants in the vicinity and they are special at fish dishes. I didnโ€™t see any changing rooms here so ladies be careful. There is an entry fee to this place which comes with free parking.

It's not a waterfall in true sense, is rather a canal where water flow has taken the form of a waterfall. This is the downstream of the canal takes water to southern States when water is released from KRS dam. It was in full brim when we visited here with many people getting down to enjoy. There is a parking fee of โ‚น20 collected at the entrance, which is just a daylight robbery. Road to the place is good. There is parking space available and some eateries present along side the area. Facilities can be improved here for tourists.

Good place but filled with people taking bath and shouting and jumping. The water is shallow soo it won't be a problem drowning. There is boating which costs Rs. 100 per person.

Man made water falls. Some small area is there to take bath & enjoy waterfalls. One shiva temple is there beside the river. Coral ride is there.

Good place to visit. Unfortunately people have spoiled the river and its surrounding by throwing plastic, alcohol bottles, clothes etc. Government should take necessary actions to maintain cleanliness. I kindly request local people and also visitors to maintain cleanliness. It is our duty to protect our rivers

One of the most under mentioned & beautiful place. Visited on 16Jul22; to see the fantastic visuals amid the openings at KRS. But came to know from a police personnel here that, most places similar to this & backwaters are closed (144) owing to high water flow & suicides. He mentioned it's an order from DC and asked folks to leave. Just lucky enough to see this beauty & listen to the beautiful sound of waterfall. Hopefully the next weekend, everything should be open. (Entrance charges: Rs.30 - for 4 wheeler Rs. 10 - for 2 wheeler)

A good chill out spot for everyone. Currently the water is shallow but it gets deeper in the middle. People can walk across the edge over the rock loft. People here enjoy swimming and making dives. A parking fee of 30rs (for car) was levied.

Very good place to visit on summer and early monsoon season. Waterflow was good to enjoy at that time. But be careful don't get very excited to swim in that. Just take care of your self & if there any kids also with you. Enjoy the place...

BALMURI FALLS One of the major tourist attraction of MYSURU district as well as south India's. Balmuri falls is a small water cascade located at Srirangapatna in Karnataka. Though known as a waterfall, it is a human-made check dam over the Cauvery river, which allows the water to flow in a 6-foot cascade over the Cauvery. Green coconut palms and trees adorn the shores and the gushing cascade of water sparkle in the sun, which is why the spot is quite scenic where many song sequences in Kannada and a few Hindi films have been shot! Now, isnโ€™t that inviting enough for all you photographers out there to spend a day out wading over the waters and capturing beautiful pictures... ******* we'll it's an best place to visit with family and however here you can chill out and take rest and enjoy the day in Mysore with many other tourist attraction places, Pay & use toilets, bathrooms, dress changing rooms, Restaurants,Stays available here. ~must visit spot in Mysore district. -SYEDSAQUIB (Local guide)

Superb waterfall near Mysore. From Bangalore it's a 4 hrs of drive and best suited for a short picnic. I would advise to go early morning arround 10 to avoid the crowd. Enjoy in the water and finish by 12. Aa rain's are increasing flow is very good in current times. And most important to mention... it's very safe not a deep water, also suitable for all age groups.

Good water spot to enjoy the weekend with family. One can walk on the bund of check dam and go under the fall. Be cautious as it is slippery at some spots. Do not venture on water storage side. There is dress changing room available across the road on payment basis. There is a beautiful temple just before the check dam. Have both fun and divinity.

Nice environment with nature of water falls. On the way to KRS dam take right and inside 15 min travel. Entry for car parking is 40 rs. At the entrance you can visit Lord Shiva Temple. Then you can go little inside to see the water falls with boating facility. Fish fry are available in nearby shop. You can even swim and enjoy.

Beautiful scenic tourist place to visit when planning for mysore trip and secure outstation to enjoy with family, friends ,kids.. I am not sure that water falls in all seasons and no water falls on this long stretched check dam while we visited on 1st May 2023, so confirm before you visit...The best thing is that the water reserved area is not so deep and kids can enjoy sitting in water. Be careful on slippery pebbles rocks at shallow depth. Don't try to dive until you are sure about depth and rocks. Dress changing facility for girls available but heavily crowded on weekends.

Can't miss this place if your visiting Mysore, best place to relax with family in the water and spent time. The water level is very low and fresh water just keeps flowing. In peak times u won't have space to enter they will be so many people and enormous crowd here. Good parking space and few eateries out here. Road needs improvement and rest rooms aren't there.

It a wonderful ๐Ÿ’ฏ place to enjoy the water flow. No there is no waterfall it's a water flow and you will have to wade between large crowds They take toll of Rs 100 for each vehicle and that's it. After that you are on our won. No life guards no one to check what's happy. I was lucky enough to see some family who were generously bathing with their clinic plus shampoos. Cleanliness is not managed by the people at all. Inspite if people coming in huge cars it's sad to see them have their lunch and grubs and then heartfully dispensing it in the water flow or throwing it in the bushes around. I pray to one and all. Please carry your disposal bags with you to collect your garbage. Please keep this area clean atleast

Overall: A scenic and safe spot for a family outing near Mysore, offering a refreshing escape, easy accessibility, various amenities, and cultural significance. Details: Free entry: Enjoy the falls and surrounding area without any entrance fees. Paid boat rides: Take a fun coracle boat ride (traditional, non-motorized) on the water for an additional cost. Kid-friendly: The gentle flow and shallow areas make it safe for children to play under adult supervision. Family-oriented: Ample space for picnics, relaxation, and enjoying the natural beauty with loved ones. Changing facilities: Convenient changing rooms ensure a stress-free experience. Amenities: Toilets, food stalls, and a small dress stall are available for visitor convenience. Parking: Parking is available on-site, making it easy to visit by car. Temple: Visit the nearby temple for a cultural touch to your trip. Avoid crowds: Arrive early (before 10:00AM -11:00AM) to beat the rush and enjoy a more peaceful experience.

For Balmuri falls, the photo speak of themselves. Its a fun place for all age, bathing in the Cauvery river water. Its a actually a check damn with water over flowing. You can choose to either go up to the check dam or just stay in the shallows. Nevertheless some waterproof footwear is recommended as the river bed is full of stones (some sharp ones and some slippery ones). There is not much food options around except for few fish stalls etc. Please do carry drinking water and some umbrella (if you don't plan to take a dip) as it gets pretty hot in the noon and there is not much shade available, guess mornings would be a good time to visit here.

Please go here on a weekday. The place is a WOW experience. Please take your sandals if your feet are sensitive, the walking in the water with sharp pebbles hurt. Should differently go till the water fall area, Sit at bottom and push your head under the fall, it's a very sublime experience.

Best time to visit during winter season. During summer not much water n can't be able to see the falls. Only running water will be there n there wer many plastic bottles and diapers in the water body. Felt very bad by seeing it. Restaurant available, washrooms available just near the water spot.

First it's not a water falls, it's a check dam built across River kaveri. On the bank of the river there is Agastyeshwara temple. Want to enjoy playing on water with family and friends, looking for sea food one can visit this place. Water is clean and coracle rides are available. Many people go there to booze and are messing the place. It's people's responsibility to save nature. It's upto responsible people visiting the place to keep the nature clean.

The place is really beautiful and serene. Pretty perfect for a day's trip and definitely a great water based attraction. There's ample space for parking and an entry fee of 40 or 50rs is collected. My recommendation is to be a bit attentive while having fish in the nearby hotels and proactively ask the price of each item. Some of the hotels are not at all transparent about change in dishes after we place an order. We had specifically placed an order for 3 plates of Rohu costing โ‚น100 each and when we asked for bill, suddenly they said that we've been given a different fish because Rohu was not fresh. Hotel staff or cook never even bothered to notify us before making the change in order.

We had been here on 25 of Sep 2021 and there is no restriction on getting into the water... the flow is a bit high so it is a bit tough to get under the actual falls but you can go with little care... the black rocks underneath are bit slippery so be careful while walking... the water is so very clean and you can see everything underneath... there is one small ancient temple as well next to it which is good inside and from the river entry from inside temple , you can literally see all the fishes underneath... only problem is that the change rooms for women are closed now because of covid... the locals collect a parking fee of 30 for your car. try and reach before 8AM to avoid the crowd.
