Lovely place. Makes us proud of our rich heritage. The garden is a peaceful delight. The mosque is a great place to pray and imagine our ancestors doing the same centuries ago.

Nothing much to see here... we went on a weekday and it was complete deserted... even then there was a person to charge 50 rs for car parking when there was no need to manage or pay for parking... also there was a guy to charge 5 rs per shoe for keeping shoes when entire place was empty... there was 1 guide who forcefully started explaining about the place and then asking for money...

On our way to Wayanad from Bangalore via Mysore road, we took a halt at this heritage place. The officials have taken some really good steps to maintain the cleanliness of the place. I don't know much about the place but I guess, it holds the graves of Tipu Sultan. *I am really sorry if I put this wrong.* The garden area is extremely beautiful.

Amazing gardening 😍 And peaceful environment. A great leader Shaheed Tippu sultan (ra) rests here! Visited here on the day of his death anniversary! A lot of visiters come here! Aqsa mosque is situated adjacent to the gumbaz! You can pray here. Don't need to search a mosque! Overall worth visiting here!

The Gumbaz is the resting place of Tippu sultan buried him after the Fourth battle of Srirangapatna(1799). The place will interest you if you are an history enthusiast. The prominence is its Persian architecture pillared with polished black granite. There is an entrance fee you have to pay.

The Gumbaz at Srirangapattana is a Muslim mausoleum at the centre of a landscaped garden, holding the graves of Tippu Sultan (Western Side), his father Hyder Ali (Middle) and his mother Fakhr-Un-Nisa (Eastern Side). It was built by Tippu Sultan to house the graves of his parents. The British allowed Tippu to be buried here after his martyrdom in the Siege of Srirangapatna in 1799. Very nicely maintained! There are people inside explaining the history about it ! Loved the visit and to know the history about it .

Gumbaz e Shahi is a stunning mausoleum that is located in the town of Srirangapatna, Karnataka, India. It was built in the 17th century by Tipu Sultan, one of the greatest rulers of the Kingdom of Mysore. The mausoleum was constructed to serve as the final resting place for Tipu Sultan, his father Hyder Ali, and his mother Fakr-Un-Nisa. The architecture of the building is a fine example of Indo-Islamic style, featuring intricate carvings and calligraphy on its walls. The central dome of the building is an impressive sight to behold, standing at a height of 20 meters and being adorned with colored tiles. The mausoleum also houses several ornamental graves and the burial chamber of the royal family. The complex surrounding the Gumbaz e Shahi mausoleum is also worth exploring, as it contains beautiful gardens and manicured lawns that make for a peaceful and serene environment. The Gumbaz e Shahi complex provides a glimpse into the rich history and culture of the Mysore Kingdom and highlights its artistic and architectural achievements. Overall, the Gumbaz e Shahi mausoleum is a must-visit for anyone interested in Indian history, architecture, and culture. Its stunning beauty and historical significance make it a top tourist destination in Srirangapatna.

Nice place, went there only as a historical importance with tombs of Tippu Sultan, his mother and father Hyderali is placed within the Gumbaz. A huge place with garden and the main Gumbaz They charge ₹50 for parking space at the Gumbaz. You do get local guide but I didn't opt for them. If you are in Srirangapatna it's a good place to visit.

This tomb and mosque was built by Tipu Sultan as a tribute to his illustrious father, Hyder (1722-1784 A.D.), after his death. The Gumbaz is situated at the eastern extreme of Srirangapatna. It enshrines the cenotaphs of Hyder Ali, his wife Fakr-un-Nisa and Tipu Sultan, after his death in 1799 A.D. It is built on a stone plinth, with polished black granite pillars that run along the corridor around the inner chamber. A magnificent dome crowns the building. The chamber is painted with the tiger stripes that were associated with Tipu. The structure, laid out amidst a garden, typical of Islamic architecture, also houses the Masjid-E-Aksa. At the eastern entrance of the Mausoleum is a tablet in Persian script that speaks of the martyrdom of Tipu Sultan in 1799 A.D. There are also numerous other cenotaphs of the relatives of Tipu Sultan’s family.

The Gumbaz is a mausoleum at Srirangapattana. The building is at the centre of a landscaped garden. It has the graves of Tippu Sultan, his father and his mother. There are also many other graves on the site. This is a popular tourist site which often tend to get crowded. This compound was held by the british after the fall of TIpu. The british allowed the body of tipu to be buried here. Be carefull of the autos and cabs here. they tend to overcharge the visitors. Please check the rates before accepting thier offers. Little fact about this place: The original carved doors of the mausoleum have been removed and are now displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. The present doors made of ebony and decorated with ivory were gifted by Lord Dalhousie.

I don't have much to write about this place. I along with some colleagues visited this place around 5:30 am in the morning. At that time it was closed. But some people(may be daily visitors) was jogging here. We spent some time outside and came back after 8am. At this time it was fully opened. Tippus tomb opens at 8am. Nice atmosphere. Foggy climate. We spent around 1 hour here. We were in rush so we couldn't spend more time here. I recommend this place who are willing a plan to mysore.

Located after the Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan, this is the burial place of his and immediate family members. The place is neatly maintained. There are tombs of many other people present here. There is no entrance fee but you have to pay for parking of ₹40. There is a place for footwear storage before you proceed to Gumbaz. There is a man inside who will explain to you the history and architecture of this place and you can reward him per your wish. Good to visit place when you explore Srirangapattna.

Definitely a must-do, to visit this burial place of Tipu and his parents. Outside are many more burials, including of his wife and son. It is free to go in and wander around. Pictures not allowed inside, but OK throughout the grounds. Masjid-E-Aqsa is there facing the Mausoleum.

Awsome place .must visit this place when you are at mysore. This place is loacated at srirangapatanam near tipus sultan palace.Tgis was the mosque built by tipu for his father hyder. You can see the kabar of tipus father and mother and his relatives there. Only disadvantage was the people with the horse outside the gumbaz ,dont belive them they will take your miney by saying that 30 rs only for taking pics and after when you get in the horse they will tell to ride the horse just 150 rs and even if we dont agree they will makr us to run in the horse and after sometime they asked to give 100 ..this was the only disadvantage.Beware that, especialy a small boy(pic is there please check my uploads) is there dont trust him..avoiding that it was a nice place to chill with your loved ones
