Unfortunately alot of exhibit shows the suffrage of POC as others made a buck off of their labor and received less than humane treatment. It's definitely a good location for all to see history as it was. I enjoyed the exhibits, very eye opening.

Very well designed. The dioramas were well-built and clearly showed images of the past, while having thorough descriptions of the events being displayed. All the little details were perfectly shaped. Very quiet as well, giving time to focus on the beautiful architecture. Lots of sitting areas so you can relax and enjoy the exhibits. I cannot believe this was free. Absolutely adored this museum. Keep up the great work!

Very cool museum. Dioramas are a little dated but that is what adds to the character and fun. Lot of good educational information and pieces. Learned a vast amount of information on Louisiana! They also had a small Art display and Native American culture display that was fantastic.

This place was awesome. We went off-season and there were no other visitors. The dioramas were amazing. As was the rest of the exhibition. Clean restrooms, free entry (donation box on exit). 100% recommend going and spending an hour.

I have always enjoyed this museum and Mom and I had a good time there yesterday. We wished the Libbey Glass exhibit was larger but we were glad we got to see it. The sculptures designed from aerial views were also cool. If you haven't been here, check it out!

We thought it would be a good idea to stop at this FREE museum while on a road trip to Dallas. I highly recommend visiting this museum. It was an excellent opportunity to learn more about the state. The building is beautiful and the exhibits consists of a bunch of amazing dioramas among other things. We were really impressed and spent an ample amount of time viewing the exhibits. I had no idea that salt mining was a thing in Louisiana and enjoyed learning more about it. I'd love to stop by again if I'm back in the area.

Since I've first visited the museum 30+ years ago I always enjoy a return visit. Some displays change, the dioramas always bring me back to my childhood and the Louisiana history is brought back to remembrance. The museum will always cool you down on a hot day.

Quiet, clean and housed in a building with beautiful art deco elements. There were beautiful dioramas throughout the collection. I could have done with a little less signatures from the rich and powerful and a little more about the contributions African Americans have made to the state. A very good experience and very friendly toward a service dog.

I remember coming here as a kid. I have recently visited for shows of 2 local artists who are lifelong friends. I have been so impressed with the Exhibit Hall and all of the history. I'm planning a visit with a friend to go through all of the exhibits. The panoramas are as detailed as I remember. This is definitely a place to visit for Louisiana history. The building itself is a beautifully art deco influenced architecture.

The detail in the dioramas is mind boggling. It had to have taken thousands of hours of highly skilled artist to do this. The more you look the more you see. The building is a large donut. Around you go to finish where you started. You could spend all day here learning about the history of Louisiana through the informative dioramas, the artifacts, and the historical paintings. It is amazing. The dioramas each represent a way of life, a major event, an industry. or a period in history. It is like watching a historical movie, only nothing is moving. It is free!

The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum is a great place to visit if you’re new to the area, or want to learn more about the state. It’s free to enter and the building is a museum all in itself. It hasn’t been updated since it’s inception, which is apart of its charm. It takes about an hour to walk through it’s circular passageway full of artifacts and dioramas. One surprise is that it has an art gallery in its south wing which is filled with art from local artists and it’s for sale! Great place to spend an afternoon!

Extremely generous staff. Took pictures of the children at the fountain. Made us all feel very comfortable and welcome.

I went during august 2022 and there were many exhibits that shared history of Louisiana and Caddo parish. There was a Native American exhibit in a wing off the main area. I saw many artifacts that were “owned” by many people who were not native Americans. That made me a bit sad, but I’m grateful that someone took the time to research and preserve much of the history of the Native Americans. I am grateful that the state museum hosted these items ina clean and safe environment. There are also informational reports about artifacts and locations. I really enjoyed my visit overall. The restrooms were very clean as well! I sort of felt a presence in there.

I attended an Art exhibit here. I was surprised at how well maintained it is. It was very clean and up-to-date. I hadn't been there in a long time and we all commented about how nice it was. I highly recommend!

I got to to a gallery with the Shreveport Writers Club and the Shreveport Art Club. The space was amazing for the show. Those who participated and attended had a great time. Everyone that worked with us were very nice and socialable.

For a free museum, it’s worth every penny. Fun little stop. Was there for an hour, if my husband came, I probably would have been there for 2 hrs. I loved the Caddo Schools art exhibition. Those are some seriously talented youth!

Brought my family here today. It was Fantastic, beautiful artwork, and displays. Priceless pieces of history, and items in this museum. The staff was friendly, and upon entering the building, we were greeted by a nice woman, who told us all about the layout, and the museum. I highly recommend this place, and we will return! A+
