Lovely gardens set around a series of lakes. We visited mid June when they had a plant fair. There is a small admission charge but worth it. The gardens are only open Sundays, Wednesdays and Bank Holiday Mondays. We were lucky enough to visit on a Saturday because of the plant fair so it is worth checking the Web site for events. There is a very nice cafe on site with indoor and outdoor seating. The toilets are also located in the area as well. Loved walking around the lakes where there was a myriad of wild life from baby frogs to dragonflies. We walked through the meadow/wild area which had beautiful wild flowers including orchids. We had never visited before and will go again in the spring when the tulips and daffodils are out. We'll worth the visit.

We visited here today and the weather wasn't great, but the lovely walk we had around the gardens, the weather didn't matter. There is plenty to see here, from the beautiful lakes and waterfalls to the rare plant collections. We enjoy visiting here due to the calming ambience this place has. We also visited the cafe Hodnet Hall offers. This is a great place to have a cuppa and a slice of cake. The cafe offers a varied menu from a ploughman's lunch, sandwiches, cake and toasted teacakes. It isn't cheap but neither expensive. We had a mokka, pot of tea a teacake and a slice of cake which cost £13. There is plenty of free parking here. A day ticket cost £9 adult, £1 child 5-15 and a years joint membership is £70 for adults. Please see website for more pricing. There are lots of seating areas dotted about the gardens. Well worth a visit.

What a wonderful gem of a garden. It's not NT in this case a good thing. There is no house to visit, it's all about the gardens. Don't forget to visit the Kitchen garden. I would highly recommend and will visit again through the season's.

Really lovely gardens with plenty to see! Best to get here early before it gets crowded but the gardens are so vast it’s not terribly important if you can’t. I bought a guide for £1 which was helpful but could have had more explanations on what things were. The tea rooms were disappointing with its food offerings - i tried a hummus and pepper wrap and a blueberry and lemon loaf cake slice. The wrap was shockingly basic for the money and the loaf cake was tasteless with a sandy mouthfeel. Best to bring your own food or eat afterwards!

Just started a year's membership & loving watching the gardens come to life. Decent parking, wonderful tea rooms & very dog friendly. Open March to October, looking forward to the kitchen garden shop opening

First visit to Hodnet Hall, we went for the plant fair but were wowed by the beautiful gardens, magnificent trees & walks round the 5 ponds. And the kitchen garden! Nice places to sit & enjoy the views, lovely cafe in a beautiful old barn. Will return later in the year to see the autumn colours.
