Great cultural experience. But be aware of boat tours, it's a 5 min ride and all you need is a taxi boat! Don't buy overpriced "tour" with food included. There is no such a thing. Monastery tickets you buy on the island, not with taxi boat driver! Anyway, museum is amazing. Give yourself time to check it all in peace.

A peaceful tiny island about 10mins away from the bay of Punat perfect to explore by walk. There is a church, museum, sacral spots and lush forest around the monastery which can all be covered in about an hour or 2. Public toilet facility is also available next to ticket office and gift shop. Taxi boat service runs every hour to drop and pick back, but please check locally as this may vary depending on season.

If you find yourself at island Krk, go visit small island of Kosljun. It is located just opposite of Punat, 7mins away with taxi boat. Definitely go there in early morning, if you go on sunday you can listen to early mass which is held in small monastery in the heart of the island, hidden in shade of thick forrest. You can find different kind of vegetation or watch lazy seagulls slumber on the rocks. You can walk through the woods through way of the cross, or enjoy at islands museum which has one of the world's biggest banknote collection. Also, they have very interesting collection of underwater life. Buy some souvenirs and hop on small boat to go back.

One of my favorite moments of the trip was coming here and touring the monastery. What a great way to increase my prayer life. Taxi boat, as others are saying is the way to go. You don't want to be rushed during your visit.

Could be a nice visit, if you manage to get inside. We were denied at the entrance and got a “only cash, bye bye!”. Really unfriendly monk that needs to work on his people skills. The boat ride was fun though..

Beautiful island, a real refuge from everyday's rush. Worth visiting the museum, the church and the hidden sacral spots in the forest around the monastery.
