Restored fortress offers a magnificent view of Šibenik and surrounding islands and few cafes for a refreshment on a hot summer day. Not to mention raising your heart rate climbing endless stats through narrow streets. Simply wonderful😊

+ Good view of the water, buildings, city. Nice fortress. + Indoor walk area also there + Entrance fee incluses 2 fortress. Pay for St. Michael's and get Barone fortress entry free. But we didn't go to the other. + Good sunny weather is essentially required for the view + Credit card was accepted for entrance ticket - No car park near by. Need to walk or climb steps from car park.

Don't go during a hot day:) but otherwise well worth the little climb in the center of Šibenik. Best access side is from the upper main street(Gorica neighbourhood). If by car, you can try and park next to the "vatrogasci"(firefighters). There's a couple of dozen parking spots...

I love St. Michael Fortress because is only walking distance to our apartment that we rented. And the view there is so gorgeous you will see the city and sea. There are so much thing to see and this place is a must to see. There is a way going to the city center.

Wonderful piece of history overlooking the old town of Šibenik and the sea. Nicely incorporated info centre. Bar is available for refreshments. If you can, attend a concert in this fortress, the experience is magical.

Nice old restored fortress, views are amazing. There is not much to see or do inside though and it's quite expensive. 10€ entrance fee is not worth it, 11 or 12 € for all 3 Sibenik's fortresses is much better.

Okay, views are nice however the thing is completely refitted as a concert venue. Which is okay but it does not offer the historical value it should provide for the ticketprice. I added pictures from the views so if you are going to skip it now, you won't miss out on anything.

Amazing fortress at the top of the city, with fantastic views across the city and out over the Adriatic. Modernised tastefully, with an amazing amphitheatre - would love to come back on an event evening. There is an entrance fee of 60Kn per person, but it's worth it just for the incredible views.

Awesome view & good example how you can properly turn the historic landmark into the events venue

Great spot to see the city and surrounding areas. Very cool history, and to think they have a concert venue built right into the fortress!! Very cool walk.

Very Well documented audio tour. Built by the locals ('pirate') population initially, sieged by the Venetians who used it to secure their trade routes & also the city, as the perception of its inhabitants never changed through the eyes of the Venetians. The location lost military importance in the 20th century and therefor was neglected. The recent restaurantions added the function of theatre which creates this amazing venu for concerts & culture while preserving an good historic visit centre

Excellent place, I would go with time so you can enjoy the view and the little tour slowly and chill. The view is amazing.

Sweeping panoramic views from a historic fortress, that stops you in your tourist tracks. Bonus is that it's straight forward to reach by foot from the city centre. I was struck by the cemetery just under the walkway but still part of the overall fortress; those laid to rest there, get a peaceful view that is always changing. Visiting the Sibenik city centre, the Sibenik City museum and St Michael's Fortress filled a good 4 hours. After that we drove to Plitvice Jezara (near the National Park) where we spent the night and started early the next morning. Unless you plan your whole day around it, or you're into walking a lot or hope to drive to each fortress and find parking, I'd suggest picking and sticking with only one or max two fortresses, even if it appears to be the less economical choice or that you might miss out.

This is just like any other fort. Good views from the top of the fort. Other than that, we did not find anything outstanding. However, if you visit Sibenik, it is worth a visit.

Entrance for one person costs 10 euro, if you read carefully note that for 12€ you can visit all three fortresses.

A small castle located in the old town part of Šibenik. Buying a family ticket for 23€, we have the opportunity to admire the whole Šibenik and its surroundings. The castle is quite well maintained. It is part of a larger ticket so we can visit 3 castles for 25 € with a family ticket.

Fantastic preserved Croatian fortress, converted partly into outdoor theatre, with museum, gift shop containing local products and souvenirs, as well as cafe, with the best view I saw in Croatia!

  • 3/5 Lorenzo K. 1 year ago on Google
The views were the highlight of the fort, there was a little cafe on-site and an impressive renovation has been undertaken to facilitate live concerts seating over a thousand people. We would have liked to experience such an event but otherwise it was quite an underwhelming experience overall. It’s worth getting the combo ticket to visit all three forts in town to enjoy the views and learn a little about the history of Sibenik.

My husband and I happened to be in town on the night that they were having a live concert. What a stunning & intimate venue! Check the concert schedule and buy tickets to whoever is playing if you can! Such a fun and gorgeous experience.

One out of four fortresses that the town of Šibenik has to offer to the tourists. This one is must visit. The view is incredible. Also in the summer there are concerts held every night.

Nice historical monument with view on whole Šibeník. In centre of fort is Coffee bar with the amphitheatre.

Easy walk around the fortress, you get a good view of the coast. Not as majestic as klis, finding parking was challenging in the old town, but sibenik is generally a Serene and beautiful town.

Fortress of St. Michael in Croatia is one of the oldest monuments of the city. Towers over Sibenik at a height of 70 m above sea level. He is one of the monumental buildings that strikes tourists in the eyes, at the first time after crossing the city's threshold. There is a wonderful view of the old town and a nearby bay. The uniqueness of this object makes it an ideal sailing point for a cruise. Inside a multimedia exhibition

Ok for a visit, I expected it to be larger and for it to take longer to visit. Overall not bad, but it is going to be difficult to reach for people with mobility issues as it's up several flights of stairs. Toilets and a cafe are available inside, as well as a little gift shop. My favourite part was probably the wacky little movie with the (Game of Thronesque) dragon, which turned into Satan with zombies (demons?). I will not spoil the finale, in case you are interested in seeing it yourself.

Interesting place to visit especially for the views toward the coast and the city. Coast 60HKS per person. You can also have a bundle deal if you want to visit the others fortress in Šibenik. Took us around 30min to visit it.

A very interesting little fortress with a couple fun videos about the history of Šibenik, there was also couple things to read about around the fortress and an amazing view. It's great to visit the other fortresses around the area as well to get even more into the history. There's a path that you can take up to 2 of the other fortresses from the exit.

Absolutely stunning place. Probably the most beautiful open air stage in Croatia. The view from the fortress, bar under the stands, atmosphere, everything is breathtaking.

This is a great visit if you are in Sibenik but the 3D films can be skipped

  • 3/5 Andrejs K. 2 years ago on Google
As to me, this place can offer only good view to bay. But, as I feel, much better view is from Barone fortress. But you can see my photos.

After a few hours at KRKA we decided to go and visit the nearby city, and , it was a pleasant surprise. The city center is in great shape, the buildings are renovated , and same for the fortress. If you have some time and you are in the area you ship not miss this place.

👍👍 In the hinterland of Šibenik, in Dubrava, there is an interesting destination, the Sokolarski centar. A very nice place to relax and at the same time learn something about optics, primarily owls, falcons, and hawks. Friendly staff who are always ready to provide information about everything you need...
