Went here last week and thought it was incredible. I did not, however, consider how the tart would haunt me. This is one of the best things I have eaten and I’ve thought about it every day. I am so upset that it is just a memory now and it is criminal that I have to return to the United States not knowing when I can have it again. Thank you so much.

Cake tastes good, not amazing tho. Old staff was rude. I picked few slices of cake & pointing it & say 1 slice, 1 piece in English and make gestures, using hand. But that old man looks angry and started to speak in Italian in a rude way.. don’t know why really. The other young guy took my order and he was polite. I don’t expect having conversation with them in English or Italian but everyone in the world can understand gestures, especially in the shop. It looks like just don’t welcome the customer.. sad

Amazing quality of cakes and desserts. Two local people told me it's best Pasticceria in Palermo and it truly is. It's in a very simple setting, but pastry is top!

I only found one vegan option. An almond cookie. Unfortunately I only bought 3. I wish I had a whole box to bring back home. It was the best almost dessert I had in Sicily. Ah! And the Granita was a true Granita! So so yummy!

A must stop if you are in Palermo. We died and went to ricotta heaven. Try the cassata siciliana, the granita ai gelsi and the original cannolo siciliano with fresh of the day ricotta cheese. Often you see the funder Salvatore Cappello serving at counter.

Closed for renovations/moved to a new location! Seems like it would be great, but disappointing that they didn’t update their hours since we walked all the way here just to find it closed.

Very good bakery, very decent prices for Palermo and near old town. Location is a bit hidden and when visiting take someone who speaks Italian. 2 coffee, 2 croissants, 2 small cakes for 6€.

I got a setteveli and a frutti di bosco and had a coffee while they packed it for me. They tasted absolutely delicious and were probably the best I had in Italy so far (and I‘ve tried a lot for a long time 😀)

The only problem is to chose what to take. Everything look and taste so good! We recomand you the "cestino con le fragoline di bosco"

Really nice bakery and very good coffee. Unfortunately the cannolo was the one that I liked less here in Sicily, too sweet for my taste. Also, the guy the counter is quite rude. 4 stars due to all the bakery products that were looking amazing, otherwise it was 3 stars

Best desserts we had on our trip to Palermo! The fruit tart was amazing, the cream has a lemony flavor that was an unexpected delight! All of the other desserts were tasty. Only thing to note is that the surrounding area is not very walkable and it can be a bit dangerous to get to it. Still totally worth the trip!

The sweets look a little bit better than they taste. Lots of options to choose from, and they surely are decent enough. The cassata was too sweet for me, tried better ones in Palermo. The tiramisu, just about average.

We loved the sweets and the cappuccino had in this place. Also, there are plenty of options you can choose from. The only downsize it's related to the neighbourhood area where the place is located and the unfriendly stuff. Other than that you should give it a try. Enjoy :)

The assistant with grey hair and beard was very rude and not welcoming at all. We tried 5 pastries it was ok. Not bad, not special. Not worth the hype.

OUTSTANDING pastry shop. I would have gone there more often but after my first visit I came back and found the place... completely trashed and torn to pieces!!! (30.08.2022) It seems there is renovation work going on and they have temporarily moved to another part of town. What a shame!

Delicious cappuccino, sweets and granita. Best gastronomic experience in Palermo by far (regarding sweets).

A must place when visiting Palermo. Mainly visited with locals. You can find here the Palermitan cake Torta Setteveli - the seven layer cake. And many other Sicilian pastry and good ice-cream. Service is very friendly, prices are decent. It is a bit tricky to find, make sure you arrive to the right place since there is another place close to it on the Corso Calatifimi street with a similar name, but it is not the one, just a fake - be careful.

I still insist a Sicily trip without a bite of desert from Pasticceria Capello is incomplete. We visited the store twice during our 8 day trip in Sicily, Strongly recommend the mousse cake, Cassata, Pistachio cake, and of course the Cannolo(outside Italy, it was called Cannoli), the gelato is so good, don't forget to try the granite too.

Took a small detour just to try the torta setteveli here and it was totally worth it! The dessert is amazing and super delicious! The staff is friendly and the prices are fair. Paid €2,80 for the torta setteveli and €0,90 for an espresso. Definitely check this place out!

Staff seems to ignore you, which is dissapointing as Pasticceria Capello is considered by many as the best pasticceria in Palermo. But honestly I don't care. If you are nearby the Palazzo Normani, go to Pasticceria Capello to enjoy the famous torta setteveli. The cake is delicious, not too sweet, very chocolatey, with a crispy crust and glossy gaze.

I read the reviews and was expecting some absolutely amazing desserts. It turned out to be ordinary, but beautifully decorated. What disappointed me was that although only 1 table was occupied, there were dirty dishes on all the others. The waiter took the dishes, but did not even wipe the drops and cup circles on the table. We ourselves had to smear the dirt with a napkin. I would not visit this place again
