If you’re in Dickinson, worth the trip to fill your belly before heading to Theodore Roosevelt NP. I preferred the caramel roll, husband preferred the cinnamon. (Hand for size reference in photo) Also, we couldn’t finish both. They are soo big!

My husband and I were staying in Dickinson to go to Theodore Roosevelt national Park. We decided to stop here for breakfast because it was so highly rated. We did not see a big sign at the street and thought we hit the wrong place but we didn’t. This was a good restaurant that the locals frequent Our waitress was prompt, friendly and fast with plenty of refills. We ordered basic breakfast eggs, bacon and sausage and hashbrowns with toast. The food was delicious. While we were there three people came in to grab cinnamon rolls to go. We decided to get some to take with us. They were so good.

I had a quick breakfast here after a night in a nearby hotel, hoping I could get some coffee and food in me before a long day on the road. It’s clear the locals love this place — it was hopping soon after opening at 7:00. My server greeted me and immediately brought me coffee. I saw the great big sweet rolls as I was walking to my booth, so I got one of the cinnamon ones. (The other option was caramel, I think.) It was really good; the only thing that would have made it better is if it had been warmer. I was in and out in about 25 minutes, and that was perfect.

This is what America needs more of. Family style cafes. This took me back 20 years. You know it's good when the place is surrounded by farm trucks.

Food was great as always. Oh, and the cinnamon rolls...WOW! The soups are delicious and filling. I wish the waitresses would put a little more attention to details like bills tht fall out of their pockets and coffee refills and just checking often to see if you need anything else......I love the walls and all the funny sayings but the restaurant has a scent consistent with a dirty kitchen..... it's just hard to clean all that stuff on the wall I get it. Over all the experience is a good one but if they ever remodel I hope the hallways, bathrooms, kitchen and eating area are all enlarged because it's a little cramped!

We ordered a standard cinnamon roll and a caramel cinnamon roll which were both good. We ordered Denver omelette and meat lovers. They were good but I was not a fan of the bacon. Flavor was off or they cooked it too long. Hash browns were crispy but not much flavor. We each had drinks and the meal was over $50.

Man. Best breakfast and coffee I ever had and I have traveled the world. Truly. I’d drive there every day for breakfast if I could. Got the country plate and you could taste each ingredient. Cooked to perfection. Not too greasy, but just perfect. The peppers were so fresh tasted like they came right out of the garden. The owner Rose and her husband are also the coolest people ever. True ranchers, great storytellers. They even talked me into taking home some sticky buns and I’m glad I did. Highly recommend. Even if it’s off the beaten path. Go. It’s well worth it.

We had 2 meals at the Country Rose Cafe. First: the staff is amazing. We opted to sit at the counter and received outstanding service. Our orders were taken swiftly and food delivered hot. Second: the food is excellent. I had never heard of knoephla soup and it is now my favorite. Our lunch was a simple cheeseburger (discounted on the seniors menu) and salad. We opted to take a caramel cinnamon roll to go - huge, gooey, yummy goodness. Do not pass on the roll. Breakfast was equally good. If you eat meat, be sure to try the local sausage.

Definitely as good as it gets, have never had better!! It's the hash browns, cooked with so much love and butter I've been craving them ever since we left! So good in fact that we ate there two mornings in a row as we passed through! Wish we could have stayed longer to try some other menu items but those hash browns and chicken fried steak took all my attention!! First off, they are busy!! The tables and counter are usually full with a couple few folks waiting. I'm sure they get even busier but both time we were there, they were full to the rim! Service is excellent, rushed because they're so busy but still very attentive and kind. Our food came out hot and fresh, no sitting in windows at this cafe, they get the food out as soon as it's done! Looks like a giant family affair with grandma cooking the soups and desserts and everyone else gathered around! The soups are absolutely delicious, I had to get some to go it was that good! And while you're there, grab a cinnamon or caramel roll, you'll be glad you did!!

Syrup has high fructose corn syrup. It's a sub par ingredient and terrible for your body.... they give out real butter at least but makes me wonder if there is margarine being used back in the kitchen will not be returning

Went there 2021 first time and fell in love with it instantly. It’s what I imagined being a family-owned diner in the States. The food is generally really good, but you also have to try their cinnamon rolls!

Great old-fashioned, small town cafe with classic breakfast, lunch and supper options. Also great place to take people to try typical North Dakota foods like carmel rolls, country style sausage, and knoefla. Only bad part is that the word is out, so there can be a wait for a table at peak meal times.

I’ve heard of this place from friends for years. Lived in Dickinson my whole life but finally decided to try it. The breakfast here is absolutely amazing! No matter what you eat you HAVE to get a Carmel roll. They are so good. Thinking of making this our Sunday breakfast spot! Highly recommend. Great people working there!

While it may not win any awards for decor, you cane here to eat anyway. The breakfast was delicious and price was fantastic. Service was quick and friendly and my coffee was always topped off.

Great little diner in town! I had the chef salad with a cup of chicken gumbo and hubby had the hash brown breakfast skillet with a half order of biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious and made from scratch! You can see and taste the effort that goes into their food. Don’t leave without snagging a caramel roll and some pie! Love the food and the wonderful staff

My sister and I had went here for my birthday that was a couple of days ago. She wanted to take me out at some point for it. So I hadn't been there in a while and forgot how good there food was.

First time eating here is such a great experience, very nice waitress and waiter, food is great served hot with huge portions, sadly i could not finish, wishing i had a bigger appetite but in all gotta stop here for anyone passing thru. 🫶🏼

It's really hard to put it all into words but this place is of a dying breed. I'm referring to the small town diner. This place does all the things you expect from such an establishment flawlessly. From the seating to the plates you're eating your food on. As far as the food it's concerned, it's well executed. Everything on the menu is good. The Country Skillet is a safe go to and way more food than you expect when you order it. The portion size is healthy and bound to fill up anyone. It's one of the few places in this town that you really can't complain about. A must try if you're driving thru and want a good breakfast and experience a disappearing part of Americana.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast Sammy, and ended up with the sausage sandwich. The clearly homemade sausage speaks to the country boy in my soul. Holy cow it is good. If I lived near here I’d stop making my own breakfast sausage and just buy theirs. Oh and the hash browns are buttery crunchy crispy perfection. That outer layer of perfect crisp potato and the soft inside. Wife had the Carmel roll and it was soft and gooey, covered in homemade caramel, and risen to soft perfection.
