The Katras Palace was built in India when Zamindari was followed here, in the year 1763. This place was then the considered the residence and head-quarters of the Jharia Raj(Jharia Estate pre-independence).The key features of Katras Palace are the Jharia Raj High School (the oldest school founded in 1866 in the region). Such a nice historic place. There is an old vintage car for a display that is awesome. But this requires repairing or else its destiny will disappear in the coming time, and this will also remain a history, and children of the upcoming generation will hear its tales in just stories. This place is a feast for eyes, for visitors looking for traditional Indian essence and historic constructional ting. The Katras Palace can be visited throughout the year but it is suggested to visit during winters here. The palace can be visited during timings 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM.

A place worth visiting, near Dhanbad, Jharkhand. A palace in ruins, a fortress the remnant of which tell tales of past glory. Good for a lazy days outing

Encountered this place during a field visit.. the buildings itself are beautiful with their architectural values.. the entrace of the palace and the building itself also is the evidence of good architecture.. but it's sad to see it's in broken condition, if not maintained and repaired one day it will turn into ruins and the history will be gone. Hope the archeological survey of India takes over and looks after it..I saw three vintage cars over there which are also valuable but again in no maintained conditon..

Absolutely this is very nice place for tourism. But this requires repairing or else its destiny will disappear in the coming time, and this will also remain a history, and children of the upcoming generation will hear its tales in just stories.

This is a historical place where Kings used to live here many years ago, so this place is also called Katrasgarh. There are still ruins at this place which used to be the palace of Kings
