😠 1-starring on behalf of all poor patients who have had EGREGIOUS charges (for mundane check ups and appointments) on the scale of $600 - $3,300… criminal and I’d even venture to say inhumane. People often mention appointment, clinic, insurance, care, visit, office,

The staff was nice and the facility was excellent. However, I am very disappointed with the cost. They billed nearly $800 for a strep test and my insurance only covered half. I did not expect going in that it would cost nearly $400 to be seen for a severe cold. I will not be returning.

Unprofessional stuff. At the front desk they told me my visit would be cost 30 dollars depends on my insurance copay and after 10 days I got a bill with additional 20 dollars. My appointment was with an assistant, but they send an information that was a specialist to my insurance. They told that they have an old data bases about doctors and they couldn't say you exact price.. I am lucky that it is just 20 dollars.

Would NEVER recommend this location. The comments here about the absurd pricing are absolutely correct. I have great insurance and have never been charged more than $150 total for an office visit (insurance+my cost). But was charged $700 for 15 minute office visit + tests.

They Cancelled my appointment after I called and said I would be 10 min late. They said no problem on the phone. After 23 min in traffic i was 12 min late and they cancelled my appointment. That's garbage. Thanks for wasting people's time and effort when they need medical attn. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

Had 3 appointments with Stanford Express Care Clinic, and it was nothing but headaches. First, you can only make a same day appointments. Which would be fine if it doesn't matter what kind of doctor you need to see. Need something that requires a specific skill/expertise and it's the afternoon? Probably won't be an opening, so they'll tell you to call back at 7AM the next day when said doctor may or may not even be scheduled to come in... Pray your problem isn't urgent! Next, the San Jose clinic has few doctors and you generally get punted to Los Altos. So, for my second appointment I decided to go with telemedicine since it would save me the trouble. Couldn't figure out how to join the session via their app and called trying to find out how it was supposed to work (do they call me?). After getting transferred around, they finally established that the appointment was botched and it was scheduled to be in-person. This had taken so long they informed me it was too late to cancel... Third, I made three appointments with three different doctors because I was in severe pain and their repeated suggestions to take OTC medicine wasn't effective. After multiple visits, doing everything they recommended, basically begging for something effective, missing two weeks of work... I ended up spending a month in agony just waiting for it to go away on its own. Finally, they supposedly "attached" a referral for external PT (Stanford PT is fully booked- again, pray you don't need that) to my records. I've been on the phone trying to get it sent to the PT clinic I arranged. So far I've been transferred 4 times and now I'm waiting for a call-back, still no referral faxed... I would never go back. Update 6/2023: Came back from vacay with an ear infection and couldn’t get a same day appointment at usual clinic. Reluctantly made an appointment at Riverview Stanford Express. Was on hold for 5-10 minutes, but making appointment was smooth otherwise. Staff were friendly and since I was a return patient checkin was almost instantaneous (had to sign agreement about new “no surprises” billing policy). Nurse/technician that took vitals was kind and personable, doctor was prompt, thorough, answered all questions, and seemed genuinely caring. Was in and out in 15-20 minutes. Given my low expectations going in I was blown away. That definitely warrants +1 star.

Came for a same day appointment. Service by front desk and the medical team were good. Very thorough with explanations. The place is also well furnished. Great experience! Be sure to call early as them and the Palo Alto locations both fill up quickly.

Just got home from this place, and although I feel awful, they are awesome 👏🏻. I see why the insurance costs more than the cheapo option from my employer now. Very professional, unbelievably clean, aesthetically pleasing office, no prison window to talk through, and very kind. I love that the doctor kept asking me, “what do you think you have?” and we were going through differential diagnoses. 👍👍

Sending the prescription for antibiotics to pharmacy was very slow. Also male clerk at the front desk was rather arrogant when I asked to have the prescription sent to another pharmacy that was on my way home. He didn't make the change, explaining that it would take very long, hence it is better stay with my default pharmacy, which I did. Arrived at this default pharmacy 1h later, and they don't have the prescription yet.

Nice covered parking lot with big clear signs. Was in and out for the clinic in less 30 minutes.

If you need same day care, this is ideal when your doctor doesn't have same day avaliablity. The care providers are welcoming, understanding, and really make you feel cared for. The office does not allow someone to enter with you except in certain circumstances. Your insurance does matter. For me, a visit here is considered the same as a visit to my primary care provider (PCP) with the same co-pay. If Stanford isn't considered in-network care for your coverage, I would consider looking elsewhere. The 10 minute late policy is clearly communicated over the phone, email, and in the MyHealth app. They welcome you to come in 10 minutes early (the app even tells you to arrive early). If you're an existing Stanford patient, and your PCP doesn't have same day availability or it's the weekend, I'd say you can't go wrong with express care.

They meds they prescribed me did not help and were not strong enough, I ended up in the ER for 5 hours the following day. After seeing them Friday they said I would have test results the following day(false). They said I could come back if I needed different meds depending on test results. With no test results and feeling exponentially worse I decided to got to the ER. Afterward I called this office and the lab who then told be that results are not done on weekends which should have be told to me at the beginning.

Very negative experience! Heavily charged for no treatment! My wife visted the clinic for an episode of episcleritis. They took the case knowing they don't have an opthomologist in the facility and they couldn't provide the necessary eye drops. Next day, we have to visit an opthomologist clinic to get the drops. The opthomologist charged much less than express clinic (less than half). I discussed the issue with the management and their response is that they provided some care by doing some checks. Express care clinic is only needed for folks who need a referral to visit a specialist. If your insurance doesn't need one then don't go would be my advice.

I am impressed with Dr. Srinivasan's team at this express care. I got more individualized attention, when I came in for an ear infection, and were so professional, and courteous. She gave me antibiotic and pain medications when i came in due to ear pain, irritated ear canal, and skin irritation. They were transparent and patient with my needs.

I accompanied someone while they were visiting this location as a patient and I was amazed how attentive and informative everyone on the medical team was, and how much they can do right on spot (like blood/urine tests). The office is modern and comphortable. Well done. Also there is a parking garage.
