I only give five stars when I genuinely love a place and The Spotted Owl deserves 5 stars. From the vintage decor that instantly takes you to a different time a place to the hand crafted cocktails, this venue focuses on the details. Great place for a night with friends or a great date night. When you’re inside this place, you feel like you’re somewhere else in the world.

Good cocktails for around the expected price. Interesting location/building, but a pretty cool vibe. I was expecting the drink menu to be more like the Cleveland location, but they had good options. Recommended as a chill, speak-easy type vibe. Music was way too loud. Felt like I was yelling to have a convo with someone sitting 1 foot away from me and couldn’t even hear the waiter.

Finally, a *real* cocktail bar in Akron! Drinks are top-notch - quality that you would see and expect in a major city cocktail bar / speakeasy and pay twice the price. Drinks are well-balanced and worth the $12 price (really!). While some are too sweet for our liking, there are number of "favorites" we have on the menu: the Brown Brink Eastward (pictured here), the Red Hook, and on their holiday cocktail menu, the Red Nose and Cinnamon Sazerac. The ladies at the bar do an incredible job. It's obvious they only hire people that are passionate for the craft here. Atmosphere is cozy (though it can't touch the atmosphere of their Cleveland location). Be warned: the high top tables with stools can be uncomfortable to sit in for awhile. Food options are fancy, but limited, so plan to eat dinner either before or after stopping by. The chocolate molten cake (pictured here) was to die for ++ ice cream made in house. Overall, we will absolutely be regulars. Highly recommend for those with a refined cocktail palate expecting the highest quality drinks and service.

Drinks are spot on! Went on a Friday and it was load enough that we had to nearly yell our orders at the waiter standing right next to us. For the chill ambiance and music, the volume of the music didn't quite match. Staff was really slow in getting our first round in. Might just need a few weeks for them to get in the groove of things. Overall a good experience.

I have been to the Cleveland one and like the surprise of the what drink will they make from the wheel. But several times I did not like the drink. I did like at this location there was over a dozen very fun cocktails to choose from. I was able to see the ones that had ingredients I didn't care for. They ask with the wheel is there something you don't like. But I would not have ever guessed some of the possible to tell them. Having both options would be great.

Obsessed with this place! Drinks, atmosphere and service are all wonderful. Akron is lucky to have such a gem.

Cool atmosphere and good service, we sat at the bar and the bartenders do put a lot of work in each craft cocktail and it was fun and interesting to watch. Drinks are on the small side for the price but had good flavor. Limited food menu. I would definitely go back but it's not an every weekend place for me, Ideal for a date or drink before/after a movie. There also appeared to be no TV's showing sports (there was one in the back with nature slides), this was refreshing to me and could be a good place to "unplug" and enjoy a drink with some conversation.

My girlfriend picked up food from the Spotted Owl and I was beyond impressed. The presentation was phenomenal and everything was delicious. Can't wait to come in once the pandemic passes. Support this local business if you can! The food was amazing!

SO glad that this has come from Cleveland to Akron. Great atmosphere, wonderful cocktails. Even includes small plates. Weekday happy hour options.
