Soccer field is NEVER open. The entire center is beautiful, but largely inaccessible after school and on weekends due to scheduled events. This may be good for seniors, but not kids. Staff refuse to open the soccer field even during posted "open" hours so it remains unused. Neighborhood kids now ignore the facility (perhaps the staff's intention?) and soccer coaches have learned to stop asking.

This place is beautiful! At little more than a year old, this Community/Recreation center is an active hub of the community. They have a gorgeous multipurpose field with lines painted for soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. They have a street hockey area, basketball courts, and a playground with two age ranges. The inside has a game room with ping-pong tables, one arcade game, and one pinball game. There is one each a large and small gymnasium court. The small court has a rock climbing wall. There are exercise studios with large mirrored walls, that could be used for exercise or dance classes. Down the other end of the building are myriad rooms for meetings or gatherings. They range from board-type round table to classroom style or arts and crafts style. There is a room with quiet games, such as chess or checkers. Finally, the building is capped out with solarium for quiet contemplation or simply reading a book.

Love love love this place, I call my second home. Been coming since they opened the doors Nov2016. It’s not only a rec center, but also a Senior Center! I come everyday for the senior lunch ($2 fee), all the free senior activities and classes. You name it, they offer it- zumba, every kind of dance class, karaoke, painting, cooking, movies, senior fitness, concert, educational classes, parties. The workout room is great, for a $55 annual fee, can’t beat that! The staff is exceptional, feels like family.

Worst place I have seen. If I knew how to give it half a start I would, first off the staff is horrible and never does anything they are supposed to. They are lazy and do not want to help the community. Second of all, the soccer field is always closed for no apparent reason and when u ask them why they give off a bunch of different reasons every time but the basketball field and field hockey concrete is always open. They don’t try to help anyone and when u go in to ask for help they can’t help you because that is too much work for them. This place is horrible shut this down, fire everyone except the supervisor that tries to help and get rid of everyone else.

Great community facility for civic activities. Also great place for games and exercise. For county residents, the gym fee is waived for the full year, 2023.

The Basketball Courts there were very nice and the price for the gym use is very cheap. The fact that they had a vending machine, and their water fountains were cold as well were very surprising. They also had a game center which was very surprising to me as they had arcade machines, ping pong tables, etc. They also have a park for children to play in as well. This is a very enjoyable place. The only complaint I can make is that they won't allow full court games of basketball. Even if it's 5 on 5 they still won't allow it and that was a hassle playing half court.

This is a relatively new center with ample space for sports and hobby related activities. They also have a basic gym (membership is kind of expensive). They have huge halls for rentals including one with am attached industrial strength kitchen. Lots of activities like pottery, sculpture, painting etc. Most of them free. Ample parking. Only gripe is that they do not have a swimming pool. Wonderful rates for seniors. Great place over all.

This has changed my life. I will be 80 in September & was becoming dormant. I had a balance physical therapist work with me twice each week for over a year (because of injuries from a fall ). My daughter discovered this program for me. Now I do exercise classes 4 days a week, have lunch & socializing and am more active & alert. The staff is extraordinary .All the people who work there are friendly & anxious to help. They have different activities you can sign up for based on your interest. There are people attending that were born in different countries, so it is an opportunity to learn about different cultures. The center is clean & well kept. The Jewish Community Center provides a bus that picks me up & brings me home.I'm sure you see why I gave it 5 stars.

Very active community center with many activities for the seniors. Specifically the young volunteers are always around to help you when you are in need of any kinds of Tech help.

It is disgraceful how it’s hardly open for the public when it is a community center. I can’t tell if it’s the county or the center but it is sad. Named after a woman who worked so diligently for a community center in her area, should have fields open to the public. It’s not just meant to be eye candy, let people use it too.

I found out about this center during the pandemic and I was encouraged to come from Bethesda to North Potomac Rec Center. This is due partly to Sheila Hall to encourage to me to find out what the center’s like and how to use my hobbies to teach people about floral arrangement and found out that I liked doing it. I learned about and take classes offered here at the center. I made new friends and it’s a wonderful place to socialize.

This new community center is only one year old. The building is so new and big. The parking lot is also big. There is a game room wiyh table tennis tables and some video game machines. There are two indoor sports rooms that people can play volleyball or badminton or basketball. There is also a very nice gym but you need to pay extra to access it. The bathrooms are very clean and you can take shower there. The only problem is it's too popular that many people go there. So you usually need to use signing sheets to take turns every 20 minutes or so.
