I'm writing this review in the middle of the still live Covid pandemic. I've been going to McGettigans on and off for the 3 years I have lived in Singapore. There are only a couple of Irish/British themed places in SIngapore. In the past I might come in every now and again but if we had a small team event I'd usually suggest we go here. To me, a good indicator of enjoyment is if a team event goes on longer than expected. In McGettigans it usually does. Something I've noticed over those few years is that there always seems to be the same key people who are in McGettigans. Through thick and thin. The last 3-6 months of the Covid Circuit Breaker has been brutal for so many of the places we used to go to. Decimated the hospitality industry. Some places had to close for good. McGettigans was closed for a while. I was super happy when it was back in business. I was even more happy that the same people were still there when I visited. It is the closed thing to an Irish local pub at home. So, this is a shout out to Jass, Nadia and Kumaram. You guys are awesome. Such a bunch of lovely and genuine people. You make this place as good as it is. I cannot say enough good words. That is all.

The best place to be when u want a great time with friends. Sing and dance no matter how old you are. Pricey drinks but the band is worth it!

A very nice bar with screening of sports channels. Food are great and nice. But there are flies flying around. The price of the food is affordable. Portion is great too. Ice water is free and also the staff are friendly. Would come again to try different food.

I paid $37 for two beers on a Sunday afternoon. You do the math. Place had six other customers and I still waited 10 minutes to be served, seated at the bar. When I asked for the bill and suggested she advertise the price of their beer, the waitress raised her eyebrows and said "I don't set the prices, post a review on Facebook". Go next door, it's two for one. Very disappointed with my experience and feel like I have been completely taken advantage of.

We ordered 3 of the “weekly cocktails” and were told it was Bacardi, lime and strawberry sugar syrup. What we were presented with was watery pink sugar syrup. I have worked I hospitality for 7 years from high end bars to nightclubs, and also don’t usually drink Bacardi rum, so I was well aware there was no alcohol in there. The bartender tried to suggest 40mls of Bacardi was in each drink, even though my two friends agreed a they couldn’t taste any. I know this offer was cheap for Singapore but don’t offer it if you can’t deliver it!

Ordered just one food item. Chicken Wellington. It was great. Not so sure about the cocktail. I have a very low tolerance of alcohol , however I couldn’t taste nor feel any alcohol in it at all. Also read reviews of people saying there’s no alcohol in their cocktails.

I enjoyed the food, especially the fries and wedges which remained crispy for a long time. The Irish burger was tasty too, something I will recommend for all to try. Fish and chips was a little oily. The drawback was the slow service from the crew. Took them a long time to notice us, settle bill etc. And some of the them may not be proficient in English

Ambiance: 5/5. Details below. Service: 5/5. Prompt & friendly service. Food: 3/5. Details below. Price: 4/5. Entertainer 1-for-1 brought me here. But overall, prices are reasonable. Location: 5/5. It's in Clarke Quay baby! Lol Chill bar music with mainly indoor (aircon) & some outdoor seats. Tried their steak & it was too chewy. We tried. We actually didn't wanna inconvenience the kitchen to get us another set but the service staff asked us about the food & we casually commented that it was kinda chewy & they promptly got us 2 new sets - which we had trouble finishing lol. Fries & onion rings were ok & portions were sizeable.

Poor service. Was sat for nearly 20 mins before someone came to me. Then when they took my order the waiter came back 10 mind later asking what I'd ordered again. Now currently been sat here for 30mins after eating my food and no one has come to clear my plate, it's not as if it's busy either and there's plenty of staff walking around. Very poor especially when you consider the prices you pay in Singapore. Steak was OK, but a little overcooked for a medium (which I had to tell the waiter as he didn't even ask me how I wanted it cooked)

Nice bar in a great location it is it offers inside and outside seating. It is a good place to hang out to enjoy a few drinks or to have some food with family or friends the bar snacks are really tasty! Value for money is good and friendly staff make the whole experience welcoming. Recommended!

The McGettigan's in Clarke Quay is a great choice for watching sport. It also has great food and service so you really can't go wrong. My most recent visit was during the Russian GP. Not only did they have the race on but they had the sound on as well. This was a nice surprise and further made me a loyal customer.

Because of our early ending to our cruise we spent 8 extra nights in the novotel across the road from mcgittigans pub. We could not fault the food for quality and quantity and I know the drinks were a bit pricey but only the same as the rest of the bars. The waiting staff were attentive and usually knew what drinks we wanted as we mostly had the same when we called in there which was every day. The 2 managers Brian and James were always wandering around and chatting to customers to check if everything was ok. My husband told them i collect teddy bears from the places we had been to and on our last night James brought me a large bear with a knitted jumper from one of the hotels. I was overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of him. We will certainly go there again once this virus has done it's worst and we can go back to singapore. Hope all the staff are well and not quarantined with the virus. All the best, sue and derek henderson.

Called in for something to eat , on the menu outside it said there was gluten free options. When asking inside we were told there was no gluten free mains , but they couldn't guarantee that the starters and desserts were gluten free. WHY ADVERTISE GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS.

Lovely place! Long happy hours till 10.00 pm! beautiful ambience! We dropped by for awhile another day and it was a good experience! Of course, its not as going as It used to be duo to nobody can play music nowadays but other than that It still a good spot to catch up with friends for a few drinks. They have a happy hours till 10.00 pm all week long and IT is a cool thing to try it out! 12$ cocktails - beautiful surroundings - will make some positive vibes! We liked it! Just to note that please serve all the drinks together - not one by one and perhaps a bit less ice. They were strong and pretty looking so everybody liked it! thank you!

Located in Claymore Connect, Muddy Murphy’s about a 15 minutes walk or a 14 minutes bus ride away from Orchard MRT. They have been around for many years and still maintains its classic vintage look. Felt like I was brought out of Singapore! On both occasions that I visited, I had their Roast beef which was consistent and good, accompanied with the Yorkshire puddings (which are of different qualities on both my visits) . It’s also one of the few places in Singapore that serves Shepherd’s pie with minced lamb meet! Love the authenticity. Between the apple pie and apple crumble, I prefer the Apple crumble. It has different layers of textures and isn’t too sweet. If you are looking for a set meal, go for a Sunday Roast! Lobster bisque is part of the menu too! Top it up with a few pints of beer to complete the experience. Topping the rating with a 5 stars for their great service! Definitely is yes, to going back !

  • 5/5 Edward T. 2 years ago on Google
I ordered the shepherd's pie, steak and bacon wrapped sausages. For dessert, I had the apple crumble. The food was excellent. The only issue is that the poor gals working there have to rush around as the pub is understaffed. Always a great place to have lunch or dinner.

  • 5/5 zhang j. 2 years ago on Google
I’m glad my friend introduced me to this place! Food is really good! Had shepherd’s pie and roast dinner. Makes me warm and fluffy inside so good! Service was good too! I’m not a bear person so I had the non-alcoholic ginger beer which is good too!!! Would come back for their Sunday lunch 3 course menu next time(only 30 bucks!) Abit far from MRT but deco of the place is good and nice! 5 star for sure!

The food is too good. Ordered the beef tenderloin steak rare. Leaving this place super satisfied. Service was impeccable as well but most of all, the ambience is great. Came here on Monday evening when there was no music playing. Great place to settle down in silence or with cozy conversation.

The fish n chips is definitely one of the best in town. Light batter and really fresh fish with lovely sauce. I only wished that the chips were chunkier and piping hot. The shepherd pie was very beautifully done n delicious. Highly recommended

Irish pubs for kilnkenny please! This time I had the fish and chips – crispy and moist fish, it's decent. The staff asked if I needed vinegar, which went well with it. Previously I had the shepherd's pie. It was good – better than fish and chips – and more filling! Pleasant experience, friendly staff and good for a catch-ups or chilled days.

Dining at Muddy Murphy's Irish Pub is a wonderful experience. The area is spacious and the ambience was excellent due to the painstaking efforts to create a sensational vintage pub in the 19 century. The fish and chips was tasty and came out looking like a whole fish that was battered, on top of a bed of delicious mash peas. Bangers was satisfying and the portion generous. Staff was attentive although they can be short handed at times. This place is a gem and its highly recommended.

My spouse and I visited this delightful Irish Pub last month and enjoyed the atmosphere and food in equal parts.
