Edit: The follow up from the owners of Bar Bar Black Sheep was really prompt, sincere and positive. Appreciate it & will be going back to try again :) - Had a really bad experience here last weekend. - While looking at menu, 2 of us were sipping some water from our own bottles & were told quite rudely that "No outside food and drinks are allowed." - Menu had a QR code to order online so we did that instead of ordering with the 'food orderer' lady thinking it would be more convenient. After we ordered, the lady came over and said abrasively, "You just made an online order right? What did you order?" I was confused but told her we ordered 10 items if that helps. She said, "Yes because we don't know what you ordered so we can't give it to you later." Apparently the QR code is generic so when the kitchen receives it they have no idea which table ordered it. Sometimes the kitchen staff walked to every table to ask whether they ordered that dish. - We later decided to order more food. I didn't close the tab on mobile web from the previous order so I went back and ordered again in the same tab. 10 minutes later, someone called me from the kitchen to ask, "Do you want meat with your Stir Fried Basil? Because there is no meat." (Which was very strange in itself) Also I wondered why they had to call me when the kitchen was just 5 meters away. - After the order showed that it was ready on the online order status, I went to the counter, saw a bag of food. The lady asked me whether it was mine, I said I would check. After I checked & told her that it wasn't ours, she said, "Ya, because that one is Deliveroo." I mean... why would you ask me to check then if you knew it wasn't ours. - I showed her our order & asked her if she could help check because it said that it was ready. At this point she semi-shouted at me, "You ordered from Cherry Avenue, this is Robertson Quay." I told her that I ordered in the same tab as the first order. Usually F&B with online order has QR codes that are specific to the branch and the table that you are at. Since theirs was not specific to the table, I should have also guessed that they were using the same online order platform for multiple branches. I asked if she could help call the Cherry Avenue branch either to transfer the order here instead (since I already paid) or deliver the food to this branch & I'll pay for the delivery fee. She told me, "I'm very busy and anyway the app has the number, you can call yourself." - I was frustrated but figured she won't be of much help so I went to Google and called the Bar Bar Black Sheep Cherry Avenue number, told them the whole situation. The response I got was, "Sorry but you need to call Hungry Black Sheep - that's the kitchen. We are Bar Bar Black Sheep, it's different." - The entire experience to resolve this took 1 hour and everyone was very rude in the process, quick summary: Lady @ RQ called to arrange delivery (which costs $10 btw) for me very reluctantly > CA branch called and asked me why I didn't pick up the order after this delivery was supposedly arranged & gave me the boss' number and told me to 'settle with her because (they) had no capacity to deal with this' > called the boss, she said she will arrange > boss called to say order will arrive in about 5-6 mins > 15 mins later still wasn't here > when it finally arrived & we were going to leave, RQ food orderer came over with the card machine and told us to pay the extra $10 because she 'was just following orders to charge us' (I mean, that was the least they could do for service recovery... but ok). I asked whether that was really necessary & told her calmly that this whole experience was really bad - her response was "That's why you should just order with me next time, if you make mistakes then I cannot control that" and stuck the card machine to my hand. At this point, I wasn't even surprised anymore at the bad service.

1st visit ★★★★☆ A bit pricey considering the potion, but affordable in this area. More than that, the taste was great, really matched my taste. As for naan, I like theirs the best, though their paneer cheese was too soft for my liking and the potion was too small, only 3-4 cubes there disappointingly. It took long time to the food be served though there were only a few customers at that time. Staff were all friendly. Cozy place to enjoy especially in the evening. Only regretting thing is that their inside seats are hot according to the staff, so it must be difficult to come for lunch especially on sunny hot days unfortunately. ——————————————— 2nd visit ★★★☆☆ Only 3 pieces of fish was put in their fish curry…considering the price and quantity too expensive, the taste is nice though. As for service, one female staff was not good. We asked her to check our orders ‘cuz one dish didn’t come, but she replied soon just after saying ‘ it’s on the way.’ It’s obvious she didn’t check it… How is she able to know without check asking the kitchen?

Western, Indian, Thai cuisines all in one restaurant. And convenience is not the only attraction to it. The food are pretty good. Fair range of drinks option too. Consistently full, so be patient with the service and attention. No GST & Service charge here! Best to get a seating outdoor with the view and good vibes.

Unfortunately last visit was a bad experience… Usually we like this place a lot. Location is great, the beer is very cold and the Indian food is delicious, also all is very reasonable priced. However, our last visit was very disappointing because of a very poor service (prior to that service was good). The two ladies who addended us appeared super unmotivated and where not friendly at all. When not attending their clients they are busy with their cellphones and it can be hart to get their attention. We all know that the places have to shut down at 10.30pm and we respect that rule and always comply. But in this case the two ladies started to remove the lighting from the table and pushing us to finish our food and drinks already at 9.35pm. This was a very unpleasant experience as we still had drinks and food on our table and it was no problem at all to finish that by 10.30pm, but we got reminded several times by these two ladies that we need to finish our food and drinks. Then we got approached at 10.10pm and one of the ladies told us that we have to leave immediately, my wife still had some beer left and asked if she could get a plastic cup, the lady disappeared and two minutes later the other lady came and told us again to leave immediately. We told her that we asked for a plastic cup and she told us that this would not be possible. She was talking to us in very unpolite and inpatient way. I heard two other tables around us also complain about the same, but the ladies didn’t give a sh*** they practically kicked out everyone. It was clear to me that was about them wanting to finish their shift, rather than complying with the rules as it was still almost 20minutes until the 10.30pm deadline. I understand if the restaurants/bars want to make sure not to breach the 10.30pm rule, but the waiters could communicate this in a polite and respectful way and I guess everyone will support, but the way we have been treated was unacceptable. Actually we left at 10.15pm then and at all the other places around the people where finishing their drinks in a calm way as it’s supposed to be. It’s a pity that we had to make this experience, as we usually really like the place and nothing else is to complain about there. I just recommend to the management to make sure that the service is in place so you don’t loose out customers because of the bad treatment received.

Great local spot for food and drinks. They have three different restaurants inside the bar. We went with the Indian spot and it was very tasty. Service was fast. We at down and ordered in less than five minutes. They have a pretty good drink selection. We sat inside because the outside seating was full. Seems to be a very popular place. Overall the food was delicious.

We’ve been coming here for more than a dozen years. It’s a little run down but conveniently located and an okay place to grab a pint and a bite. They’re basically a bar (not a coffee shop!) that hosts (up to) three kitchens inside and used to have a choice of Thai, Indian, or western food. The western food was awful but they seem to have changed the vendor. I haven’t tried the new one yet. The Thai food, which was rather good and decent value, is unfortunately gone. They still have Indian food but it’s a very different menu than before, so I suspect it’s a different vendor, but it’s still good and they have some interesting dishes. They have a large drinks menu though, surprisingly, their beer selection could be better. They’re not really keeping up with the trend in craft beers and only have a few of the bigger names along with the usual mass produced beers. Everything is a little on the pricey side for what it is, but it’s not outrageous. They’ve clearly been losing customers to competing businesses along the same strip, though, so I do think they should focus a little more on the quality and value proposition. Overall, I’d say it’s satisfactory but not outstanding.

I think this is the bar / restaurant with the worst service in Singapore. It took 10 minutes to get a beer during a relatively quiet Wednesday evening. Lots of employees buzzing around, but very unprofessional and unfriendly. I ordered samosas, which they brought but with no fork or napkins. Had to ask 3 people for those. The food was ok, and location great. However there are so many better places to go. Recommend avoid this place

Food are average. The naans are all burnt, the chefs have no respect to naan, seriously. If you'd like to shorten your lifespan, should come here every day. A better name for the restaurant would be Ba Ba Black Naan.

My first time here and NEVER again. Kitchen and beverages need to pay separately, increase customers' inconvenience. After we scanned the qr code and paid for food with card already, the kitchen uncle had to come and ask us what we ordered. Are you freaking kidding me LOL, then what was the whole point of making us place the order online? So many beverage items not available but never crossed out. Happy hour is a fluke (only available at other outlet), then you print it in your wall banner in such huge fonts. Either management changed or the standard just dropped like mad after Covid happened. Otherwise I cannot understand how in the world they managed to get 4.2 for 600+ reviews. EDIT: Indian food was kinda sad. Naan was the crispy kind which unfortunately was not what I was looking for in a Naan. Butter chicken was above average but the cottage cheese in their Palak Paneer was rubbery lol. Worst cottage cheese I ever had, cannot compare with the likes of Ameen Makan House , with the same price point. Added 1 more star cos the kitchen uncle was very cheerful and friendly, yay uncle!

Worst experience ever! Ate one dish and got different dish, after I complained they go back to the kitchen and gave me again the same dish! Once wanted to pay, the manager didn’t let us to divide the bill. I was asking to talk with the manager and he didn’t accept to split the account and told us he will still charge for the wrong dish. Didn’t expect such attention from a restaurant manager. I will never come back!

Delicious food and beer. Super nice servers with great recommendations. Cool concept, you can order from any of 3 counters to get a variety of different cultural foods in one meal. Everything is super reasonably priced (although not hawker center prices) I got the sambal rice with chicken and it was spicy and super amazing.

We love bar bar for it's vibe, food and drinks. The Indian WAS especially good, with great tasty tikka , masalas and nans... It seems they have changed the owners or chefs at the river valley restaurant. The chicken tikka came out cold , the masala was not the tasty dish it used to be. When we returned the tikka it was back on our table within the 45 seconds it spent in the microwave. It's a shame because we really like the vibe at bar bars. This will be our last visit. Beverage staff were friendly and were as good as usual. Happy for management to get in contact to feed back.

The location of the restaurant is good. It has water front. Food quality was good. However, we sat outside for dinner, there was no light and it was very hot and no fan available. No one was paying attention to our table when we wanted to order more food. Just did with starters and left to see another restaurant for main course.

This place is really amazing in River Valley. Sitting outside has the best ambience. Their customer service is good and they do have promotions on drinks. Faizan helped us with the table and drinks. The food here is amazing from salaam Bombay. Harriet and her team cook one of the best Indian foods in town. A good place to hang out with a group of friends or for a treat. The prices are very reasonable. Do recommend this place and will surely come back soon.

Other than an ice cold big 1-litre mug that could easily quench your week-long beer cravings, it does feel like a cosy environment in the heart of the hustle and bustle of Robertson Quay. Furthermore, with a kitchen within the bar whipping up food at your choosing, it's a great place to stop by to catch up on conversations or your phone notifications.

Food was okay, but there’s nothing exceptionally great. Service wise: We were attended by a waitress who was highly clueless about our order or request. No matter what we asked, whether which food is which, or we wanted to get the menu, or clarifying some order details, there’s no feedback from here—none at all. That’s where our experience was drastically pulled down. That’s minimum of hospitality services. I had a second thought about the service we experienced and started to think maybe she have impaired hearing, as we noticed that she didn’t talk. Not blaming the experience to individuals, but definitely the service design can be much improved.

The ambience was good. But the service, all but one server, was delayed and extremely careless edging into rude. Still half an hour away from official closing time, one of the lady servers starting coming frequently, interrupting conversation and clearing things which we were not done with. Had to remind her on multiple such trips that "that was not done" when she would pickup a not empty glass or bottle or plate on the table in front of us. Didn't even get an apology for such behavior and it was repeated multiple times. The food was so-so. Not worth the price. Most staff on shift doesn't know what drinks on the menu are available or what they are. Among all the lousy service, one lady really stood out and gave excellent service. She knew the menu, recommended drinks, and explained what was in them, always with a smile. Wish I knew her name!

These guys have four different menus. Indian, Thai, Chinese and something else. The place is small but vibrant. I ordered Thai noodles and tandoori shrimp. Shrimp was good and noodle was ok. Not too impressed by food. Mango margarita was more like juice so had to send it back and get something else. Service was good and prompt. I sat inside as it was raining on and off.

This beautiful Indian/Singaporean bar right on the Robertson Quay river. Serves some magnificent burgers and cold beer. It is worth including this as one of your pit stops when you are in Singapore walking along the river from Clarks Quay towards the Robertson Quay. Sadly I cannot write up on every café or bar that I have attended while I was in Singapore and Vietnam. They are all good in the own way.

Interesting food combinations. Western, Indian, Thai and bit of Italian. Service is good. Food is average. We ordered mutton Mysore which was supposed to be dry but a few pieces of mutton came in a thick gravy with pieces of bell peppers and onions- was definitely not the Mysore mutton which you get from other restaurants in Little India. Food is served fast. No GST or service charge so you pay what you see in the menu. Overall good place to have relaxed meal on the river side.

Gone are the days when this place was actually great... In the evenings only the Omakase Burger is available - I think at lunchtime they still have the Thai and indian options. The burger was dismal - soggy bun, tasteless patty and the whole thing fell apart when I tried to eat it. Fries were equally bland. Drinks were ok, but then again its pretty hard to get a glass of beer wrong.

Disappointing service. Waited 45 mins just for a small bowl of butter chicken + 2 pieces of naan on a Saturday night. Very little chicken for $18. It was just drowning in gravy instead. Asked for a cup of ice from the waiter, but it didn’t come. Even reminded the manager who wasn’t dressed in uniform about it but it still didn’t come. Worse of all, they didn’t even seem to be very busy. The place was at best half filled and the waiters can be seen just standing around at times. Though food was alright, I would probably not return again due to the poor service.

Good staff service and great place for drinks but not for some types of food. The Indian food is pretty good but do not order the western. Can't believe their cheese burger costs 15$ when a cheeseburger at Mcdonalds trumps it in taste and quality.

Sit by river, have a tasty beer, watch people, catch a breeze = 4 stars. No happy hour = not 5 stars

(Translated by Google) Good atmosphere by the river. Butter chicken curry was delicious. It's cheap because it doesn't charge service fees and taxes, but it's not cheap. Especially craft beer. (Original) 川沿いで雰囲気が良い。バターチキンカレーが美味しかった。サービス料と税金がかからない分だけお得だが、決して安い訳ではない。特にクラフトビール。

Went there for Sunday lunch. It was a bit early and we had good seating outside as it was a nice day out. The menu is extensive, with both Asian and Western food choices. The staff was very helpful and polite. We ordered the Deluxe Club Burger and it was delicious. The coleslaw was a bit too mayonaise-y but the fries were good and crunchy, just the way we liked it. Would probably come back to try the other cuisines available.

This is one of my favourite riverside hangouts in Singapore - good company, great variety of food options (Thai, Indian, Western) and the prices are much cheaper than the rest of Rob Quay :) - highly recommend!

Good food, not overbearing music at the Bar. Near the riverside walk and easy to get to. Helpful staff.
