Was seated and tried to order for 30-40mins but no one wanted to take our order. A table that was seated after us was served before we got the chance to order, even though we tried to flag down the same server to order. The bar was able to crank out the drinks quickly, but there didn't appear to be enough serving staff to handle the volume on a Wednesday evening. We left without getting a drink. What a waste of time to queue up.

Great little bar with nice ambience. Wasn't too noisy when we were there. Wait staff were attentive and friendly meaning we were never low on drinks for too long. They have a great selection of Gins and Wiskey. Looking forward to trying their food next time. Their operating hours on Google and their website differ, though both say they close as 1am, we were kicked out at 12.30am and last drinks were even earlier than that.

Was able to get a table without a reservation at 8:30 on Friday (got pretty lucky). Drinks are decent not many bourbon based choices. The crowd is a bit older as would expect, so maybe a slightly softer music than hard base EDM would be more appropriate. Overall good posh experience.

(Translated by Google) The price is low. In-house creative cocktails but very low alcohol content. Guinness is very anxious, and the worst I have ever had is here. The only Chinese male waiter can't even communicate in Chinese. The environment is good but the wine is terrible! (Original) 性比价低。自家创意鸡尾酒但酒精浓度特低。Guinness好焦,喝过最差的就属这里了。唯一的华人男服务员连用中文基本沟通都不行。环境很好但酒太差劲了!

It was a wrong decision to have our dinner plan here, a cocktail might have been just fine.. but the standard of food served were just average (& below). Truffle fries looked really good when served, but there’s not the mildest aroma or taste of truffle. After finishing the top layer of parmesan snow, you are just left with plain fried potato strips, no salt no nothing. Har cheong gai chicken wings was ok, though it’s not as good as its neighbour’s version, decent enough with good crispiness. However, it was unfortunately the only dish which matches its price & description. Lastly, the Bacon & Mushroom pizza was HORRIBLE. Not exaggerating when I said, Fairprice frozen section can do better than this. The crust tastes like instant, we couldn’t taste any of the ingredients as they were so bland, including bacon which is supposed to be at least... salty right, but no. So overall, I will not recommend this place for dining. But if you are here for drinks along with a side of wings/ fries, it’s doable.

We are a couple from Madrid, we had a great time, we will be back for sure. This place has good drinks, good service, good food and good music. The boy who attended us as host was very kind and offered us the menu for dinner. Very interesting. We will be back for sure with three other couples.🇪🇸😉👍

I have been here before COVID many times with friends and family. I was there last Saturday. The place is very good. Nice staffs. I forgot to wear my mask while visiting the loo. The staff told me privately and with such gentle voice. I appreciate it. I am going this week again.. can't get enough of this place. Great experience. keep up the great work guys. Went again on 2 Jan 2021. It awesome as usual. The staffs are friendly and professional. They treat you like we are good friends. I appreciate it. Thanks guys. See you guys again. Keep up the great work.

Drinks get more diluted after each visit. Increased of price yet the quality of the cocktails have been compromised. Meh food but new menu is slightly fancier. Most finger food are now taken off the menu. Latest visit was attended by a moody server, billed me the wrong table as well. So do check your bills even if there isn't a crowd. Great ambience due to the deco but I miss the old Alley Bar drinks and crew though.

Came here since I was an NS boy, brought friends (and dates) throughout uni, and now am back for the first time since covid hit. The place has been revamped and it looks incredible - plus, the drinks menu is a strong recommend. Instead of the somewhat weak drinks back in the day, they now boast a solid drinks menu, with signature cocktails (with an asian twist) that are pretty fun to drink! We had the Kaya King Mai Tai and the Baba Pisco Sour, both of which really tickled the tastebuds. As a pandan fan, the Baba Pisco Sour was my favorite. The classic cocktails were good and strong, which really rounded off the wonderful night. Prices were a little steep, but to be fair we came after HH. Will be back!

Nice ambience but can be quite noisy if you’re planning to catch up with your friends over drinks. They have interesting cocktails on the menu and they’re pretty good! Food is meh so set your expectations low. Definitely have your meals before dropping by this place. Friendly staff! Overall Rating: 3.5

Alleybar has been like a grand old dame at Peranakan place, along with Que Pasa. It's a bit sad to see that crowds there are less than usual during this period. A nice lovely Wednesday date night with Negroni & the food just wow! From bar bites, & moving to To Share portions, every dish is a winner! The current menu of Peranakan fusion/ heritage inspired menu is exciting, feels like stepping into a modern Peranakan home. We had Babi lidi, Kueh pie tee with three different filling which includes the luxe version of lobster with fat juicy ikura. Pong tauhu is a surprise Of cos, not forgetting the mains of Rickshaw noodles. Can just imagine in its heyday when Orchard Road has rickshaw & with Nonya going shopping... Shoutout for the great service of the bar team, Mimie & Chef Ken too. Will be back soon!

Lovely well decorated bar with some of the best gin cocktails, they have lots of cool gins! We ordered the Gimlet made with Four Pillars Shiraz Gin, as well as the class gin & tonic with the Four Pillars Yuzu Gin, and both were simple yet spectacular. There was a peppery gin with Szechuan pepper too.

the bartenders are always so friendly, it's my go-to place to drop by after dinner / for round two if it's not too crowded! i recommend the espresso martini & chocolate milk drink (not pictured). their truffle fries weren't the best!

Ayam merah (chicken nuggets, sambal sauce, creme fraiche) - good flavour though the nuggets could be a little crispier and warmer. Truffle fries - fresh and warm. Monkey 47 gin and tonic - strong and refreshing. Plantation dark rum and coke - strong and good flavour from the rum, which went well with the coke. Nice decor and ambience.

It was a Wednesday in the afternoon precisely at 5 pm, it was empty just 2 tables apart of ours, 3 people. The bellinis that we had were so nice, the reason why I'm giving the 2 stars is for the service, I can't believe how unfriendly the waiter was. As in the picture you can see one of the chairs was a small backless stool, my husband has a bad back, he tried to change the stool with a chair at the back, it was empty anyway, and he just grunted and not very polite said “no no no” no questions no even a politely way to say it, that ruined our moment and the only thing we can think off was to finish our drinks and leave. I would not go again, and it is not that the clients are always right, it is about been kind and empathethic.

First-time Visit Food: Menu was "generally" Malaysian-Chinese, I would say. It was my first time to try Mee Angel Goreng ($24) and Otak Otak fried rice ($20), both were ok but did really taste interesting. Chicken satay ($18) was, for me, a so-so. But I will def try other food next time! Cocktails: Jungle Bird was a good starter, Hemmingway Daiquiri ($20) and Tommy's Margarita ($20) were both nice too, but will recommend bespokes Double Happiness Negroni ($25) and Manga Mai Tai ($25). Better bring a bottled water. Paid $9 for a bottle of Acqua Panna... 😬 Overall Experience: 3-star comparing with other really good bars I have been (such as J&P, Papa Doble, and others). We were seated on a high chair without back rest, my back hurts like an uncle's... 😅 And watch out if you are ordering for happy hour, better check the time because they won't tell you once that's done.

It is truly a beautiful spot and well located too. The employees are very friendly and outgoing. It is actually the first time in Singapore somebody has cared to ask me how I find my drink. I took the chicken Satay, which was really good as well as an Espresso Martini (15$ during Happy Hour, can't beat that) as well as one of their signature cocktails: Invisible Sling at 20$. I am definitely coming back.

When you’re here, i’d recommend to just order cocktails and don’t order food unless you want something to go with your drinks. We ordered calamari, har jeong gai chicken wings, and a pizza. The pizza was the worst as the crust tasted tough to bite through like those you get in a frozen pizza. Calamari and chicken wings were just average and very forgettable. However I’m not gonna knock a star off because it’s a bar and it’s well known for its cocktails, not food. We ordered 4 signature cocktails off their special menu and all were reaaaaally good. The kaya king mai tai and rickshaw redemption tasted absolutely divine. Hats off to the bartender! Will return JUST for the cocktails.

I am hoping to strike lottery to celebrate graduating from University by drinking a thousand more Ghosted Coladas! Used to patronise occasionally before the change of management, this is a special place to me. The new crew serves with excellent hospitality, and with much professionalism. You can choose to sit along their "alleys" and get mesmerised them spinning the ice in the glass, or sit by the huge mirror at the back and have a chill time!

Good ambience but service can definitely 100% be improved. Went over the weekend before the latest lockdown on dining in. Had especially haughty attitude from a female server (dyed red hair and bespectacled) - rude, no p's & q's, cold stares, caught her rolling her eyes a few times. When last orders are called and it is time to close the bills, she really just threw my credit card on the table, tossed her hair and left. Just really tainted the experience for us. Even my friend who is the most patient person ever remarked during our course there "is it me or is that waitress really off?". Disappointed to say the least.

Fell in love with this cosy alley bar along Emerald Hill. The bar has a nice interior which retained some of the original historical elements of the building; and the food and drinks are inspired by rich Peranakan flavours. We ordered the Satay, Kueh Pie Tee and Watermelon Pork skewers. Their signaturr Mangga Mai Tai is to die for! It comes infused with pandan, kaffir lime and a special ingredient. Highly recommended! 🍹

Otak Otak Fried Rice @ Alleybar Even from a distance, you will be greeted by hanging lights from a deceptively high ceiling considering it’s a shophouse. As you walk in you can’t help but notice the giant mirror at the back. This place honestly feels like it should be part of something bigger but they sliced a part of it off and made it a bar. When you sit down, you’ll be offered a small bowl of Keropok and a strong, refreshing Mint Tea by the attentive staff. The keropok was crisp and the Mint Tea is best enjoyed sipped due to it’s strength. I failed to notice the Otak Otak fried rice contained actual crabmeat from the menu and is actually fairly seafood based. While you can taste the freshness of the crab, shrimp and ikan bilis, it’s not really my thing. Despite that flavor, it lacks the distinct wok-hei I expect from a fried rice. 24$ Perhaps the non-wok stuff will be better. The highlight was the Ghosted Colada cocktail. Easy to drink, like someone squeezed a coconut into the glass, probably due to the toasted coconut shreds on top. While it’s served clear, upon stirring it gains a slightly violet hue, gaining an almost ethereal feeling. I like it alot but you have to like coconut. It is, however, pretty expensive. 25$ Overall a pretty decent experience. Upon closer inspection I noted that the dishes seem to be mostly fusion stuff that isn’t really my thing, but the ingredients and the portion seems to be rather fair. Could be a good place for snacks. If you’re looking to splurge, it could be a place, but I’m not in a hurry to return. Just personal preference. 7/10

We had asked servers for tap water twice, they didn't want to provide us with this, and said that we should have asked earlier. Servers had also repeatedly reminded about how drinks had to be stopped at 12.30am when the restaurant closes at 2am. I would have appreciated further heads up on when drinks or food would have stopped serving completely, and preferably in a more calm manner. Don't recommend this restaurant in its current iteration, because the standard has dropped from when my previous visit last year. Unable to rate on food because they said kitchen had closed when we arrived, we only had a really tiny plate of bar nuts to share.

As you walk in off emerald Hill , immerse yourself in the luxury comfort of Alley bar. Super friendly staff, knowledgeable and the recommended signature cocktail list was a hit. I was mad keen for a pina colada all day , and you better believe the first drink in the list was the "ghosted pina colada!". A huge twist - Singapore style. I won't spoil the huge twist , (hint , it's the coconut element !) but butterfly pea syrup and panadan syrup are key flavours. . My partner had the lapsang souchang it's a smokey bitter well balanced , sophisticated drink. For those smokey cocktail lovers. We thoroughly enjoyed the night. Thanks for having us . From Tasmania, Australia 🌏🦘 Thanks Mike and team

I’m in Singapore on holiday and my friends brought me to this bar on Christmas Eve. Battery was almost flat so I won’t be able to go home with public transport if I haven’t found a power point. I’ve been looking for one for the whole day but non of the shops have PowerPoint or willing to help. Thanks to the kind waitress who were willing to bring me her own powerbank to help me! Not forgetting to mention that the drinks we ordered were very nice and the ambience is very cozy.

Much has been said about the amazing signature cocktails here, but little about the food, so thought I'd fill that gap. The ayam merah (pictured) was good, served with a tasty dollop of yoghurt, and made for a good-sized portion considering it was an appetiser. The sea bass main course was sufficiently large too (especially considering fish tends to be less filling), and was served with a generous pile of coriander that complemented the Peranakan flavours well. Both were mildly spicy. The ambience was lovely too. Only docking one star because it leans pricey!

  • 4/5 HL C. 1 year ago on Google
Tried the ghosted colada, it was great with flamed fresh coconut! But the ice was quite huge, so do finish the cocktail fast, if not it will dilute the drink. The food was fantastic too!! 👍👍Four star due to the high prices.

Old and new. Tradition and innovation. This bar is a true gem for cocktail enthusiasts. What sets it apart is its remarkable ability to evolve classic cocktails with a clever twist while staying deeply rooted in the local flavors and tastes. Each sip tells a story of the region, as they skillfully incorporate local ingredients, resulting in cocktails that are not only delightful but also a tribute to the area’s culinary heritage. Particularly impressive is their understanding of the history behind each cocktail. Rather than rewriting the past, they honor it. You’ll find that their concoctions pay homage to the original recipes, skillfully enhancing them with contemporary creativity. It’s a testament to the bartender’s expertise and respect for cocktail traditions.

Went to Alley Bar on Saturday evening. The ambience was good but the service was average, it seemed like they were struggling to keep up. We ordered 3 cocktails per person, and two of the food dishes one of which never made it to the table. They kept saying it's coming, but it never did! The server apologised as we were leaving which we appreciated. The cocktails were good, enjoyed the ghosted colada the most from their signature cocktails. The sling was a bit of a disappointment though. Overall an average experience.

The only downside of the night was the service. We had to clear our table and noticed the table next to us needed to do the same. We also needed to chase for water refills. On balance, we would choose other places were the service and the experience are both great.

Such an aesthetic bar right next to Que pasa. The lobster tartlet was a huge surprise as they were really tasty! Didn't expect them to be so delish. We accidentally ordered the zucchini fries instead of normal fries so it was a bit difficult to eat them. The espresso martini was fantastic & my friend loved the signature milo cocktail. It's a lovely place but quite noisy. The staff attend to us was so friendly and funny!

Slightly expensive for the standard beers and wines. Cocktails are very well crafted. Go for drinks and nibbles but the food is not suitable for mains - quite small and overvalued. The atmosphere is very chic and relaxed, good for date nights.

My last evening out before the second round of PH2A - loved the ambience, and the specialty cocktails as well! Can’t wait to come back once things a back to normal

Like the dishes here, we tried Ayam Merah and Mee Angel Mushroom, both taste great, specially like the mushroom pasta, was rather a surprising dish. Also order Singapore Sling and Long Island Tea(by bartender Matthew), generally great as well!!! We were served by Su, he’s very approachable and professional in his service. Had a great night dined here!!!!
