I visited this fine dine (in every true sense) after long hours of research for my wedding anniversary.Must say, this restaurant not only exceeded my expectations, but went way beyond! From decor to light Indian classical music at the background, from food to staff service, from gesture to price, I am left speechless! I am glad to have finally locked a place where I can get my family and friends when they pay a visit.. Let's talk of the Pros and Cons now Pros 1. Food quality and quantity - Top notch. In many fine dines, you may often find high quality food but minimal quantity at low price. This restaurant surprisingly provides high quality food at a very reasonable price and with a quantity to surprise you. We ordered kebab for starters, kashmiri pulav, raita and jalebi (10$ - 8 big pieces!!) and me and my wife couldn't finish it all. 2. Staff service - Very kind and attentive. Happy to serve, click pictures. On knowing it's our anniversary, they not only brought a candle with mango kulfi as a gesture but also clicked a Pic from their digital cam and got a gift card with our pic after dinner!! (All pics shared below) 3. Price - Quite reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food. I have been to many fine dines and trust me, this place is sure to give them tough competition in this and above categories. Cons Too good to be true 😬 My final rating - 11/10 (I am not paid for this review and if you are here for the first time, you won't be disappointed! Thank you team for making our wedding anniversary so special and memorable with your kind and heartfelt gesture. As your name, you truly made us feel Royal 😊

First time had North Indian food in Singapore. This is the famous restaurant and always crowded. We order lamb, butter chicken, masala chicken, spinach cheese, potato, fish, brinjal and few more can't recall the name. The must order is lamb, it taste so great. Personally advise is not over order, the gravy will make you so full. Overall was a good experience. Food: 4 stars Environment : 4 stars Value of money: 3.5 stars Worth to try: 4 stars

This Indian restaurant in Singapore offers a unique dining experience. Unlike other Indian restaurants where I usually find the food heavy for dinner, here they have mastered the art of using a delightful blend of spices like turmeric, tamarind, cumin, fennel, and cardamom. The dishes, especially the curry-based ones like lamb, curry snapper fish, and chicken masala, are absolutely fantastic, and they pair wonderfully with the naan and roti. Don't miss out on the flavorful biryani rice too. To add to the exceptional experience, the wine selection, particularly the Shiraz, is a perfect complement to the meal. All of this, combined with the great service provided by Sunjav, makes it a truly memorable restaurant visit.

Indian fine dining at its possible best, albeit with some room for improvement. Have dined at Shahi Maharani a few times but just about got to writing a review. It's always been dinner that I had here and never lunch, so next time I should try that. It was a weekday evening, and the restaurant was just about rightly full, just a couple of tables unoccupied. The decor is tastefully done with the impression of a typical Indian fine dining restaurant, and quite spacious too with the tables well apart. I love the dining spaces by the wall which are kind of set in a cozy niche and gives you a bit of privacy. We started with the tandoori milawat, which is a mix of a few kebabs on a sizzling plate. These were so good and kicked up our appetite that we ordered the tandoori chicken as well. On to the mains, we had a bread basket with butter chicken. The bread basket needs a special mention. The paratha was so soft and fluffy, that you could just have it on its own! Butter chicken was good, but wasn't great. The house pour reds (there are 2 choices) paired quite well with the food - one a bit lighter than the other. Their wine choices are quite extensive and the previous visit we ordered a bottle of chianti that was good. For dessert, we tried the rasamalai and kulfi, since we were very full, we really couldn't appreciate the goodness of these :) Service was good, not excellent though. Kind of a mixed bag, with some staff exemplary and some others looked like they were lacking motivation. But they were there and served you well when you want something. Though the management could do with some improvement here considering they're a fine dining restaurant. Overall a nice experience and yes I would come back, for the ambience and the food. My one standout must-try item - tandoori paratha!

One of best restaurants of Singapore to have authentic North Indian food. The interiors of the restaurant has a heritage kind of a feel and staff is very polite and courteous. Though a bit expensive than usual, food quality and quantity was upto the mark and the food was delicious. Even the mouth freshener was really tasty. Would recommend visiting this place for authentic North Indian food.

One of the most celebrated, premium indian offering in Singapore and it lived up to this expectation during our latest visit. Food was amazing. Starters especially pani puri and paneer (cottage cheese) skewers are tasty. Main course is good - loved the chicken offering. Deserts were simple and tasty too. What's most exciting of all is the free flow of food and what makes this place a great value for money. Nice staff, don't converse much, but takes care of most of your needs in timely manner. I would say, you must visit this place.

We went there after hearing really good reviews from few friends. Due to COvID, they no longer serve buffet instead they had a promo for 1/1 free flow buffet served on table. We went with that option so that you can try a lot of curries. Appetisers included lentil soup, samosa and chicken Tikka. Samosas were nice and similar to the frozen haldiram samosas, chicken was nice and juicy. With the main course, paneer and fish was really ok, paneer was not soft and fish was not fresh. The mutton Roghan gosh was really nice with meat cooked perfectly to tenderness. Butter chicken nice and creamy too. Overall, if u crave good Indian it’s not a bad option but nothing extraordinary here.

First time trying this Indian fine dining restaurant. Recommended by my Indian friend. Personally, I love Indian food and after trying out the dishes, it was really very good. The tandoori chicken is very nice and well cooked. The meat is tender, and the spices are good. The Biryani Rice is super good. 👌 Price is a bit expensive, but the food is good.

We were shopping at Raffles Place today and decided to try this restaurant. The moment you enter you will feel the old world charm as the restaurant has a vintage vibe when it comes to decor and aesthetics. It has large sitting capacity and most tables we're occupied when we visited. Menu is online and has great range of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. It also has a bar and serves variety of alcoholic n non alcoholic drinks. We ordered 2 vegetarian mains and variety of breads. Food was above average amd nothing exceptional however the service was very good as staff was attention and accommodating to everyone. Bit pricey to be honest but given the location I guess it's expected.

Excellent food and service. Their weekend lunch buffets are great value. Ala carte portions are generous so you’d need to have a group of at least 4 to try a variety of dishes. Enough options on the menu to satisfy meat eaters and vegetarians

Love the food and ambience! We tried Chicken Briyani and Prawn Briyani. The taste was okay but not delicious. It was quite disappointing. But the rest dishes like Palak Paneer, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Naan, Prawn Korma and Wheat Prata was absolutely delicious! We really love the food so much. The food quality was amazing! I would like to thank Mr Balan whom went extra mile to arrange Masala Chai for us. We didn’t realise it was 9.30PM and we wanted to taste the masala chai so badly. When we ordered, they told the kitchen were closed. I find it so funny cause nobody told us it was last order but anyway it wasn’t a big deal. Then Mr Balan was attending to our table and he asked if we are done with our food and we told him our little situation. He told us that normally 9.30PM we will close the kitchen and he went inside back kitchen to make special requests for us. I mean it was so nice of him to made such arrangements for us. We all truly appreciate his effort. Our non Indian friends were so happy to try the masala chai finally! Kudos to Mr Balan! Will come back again! 🤩🔥

Great North Indian food, possibly one of the best in Singapore, although a little expensive. [updated 14 August 2023] Been patronising this restaurant since 2018. Food and service are still great. It is recommended that you dine with family or in a larger group so you get to taste more dishes. Also recommend to make reservations.

Amazing experience. The service was so good. Sitting buffet starters, many varieties and can be served multiple times as well as per our requirements. Main course items were less, The quality of food is good. Their service is exceptional. While booking the reservation, we mentioned we are coming for a birthday lunch, they arranged kulfi ice cream cake. They took photos and got them printed for us and given as a birthday card, which is unique. Highly recommended

Lovely service and food. Had my sons birthday there cos he wanted something different. The lunch buffet on weekend is best value!! Lovely quality especially the appetisers. And don't be mistaken the latter was rhe main course for us. Best you can order again and again!! The curries and nans as well as the dessert cum fruits were wonderful. My daughter who love the Indian food in Philadelphia was especially enjoying all the food including the sauces . And they were so kind to take a picture of the family and birthday and gave us a frame for that as well.. well done guys. Only down side, the deco has been there for many years.. a little dated but still acceptable lah..

Had the most romantic dinner a gazilion feet up in the air, all thanks to the staff of shahi maharani!! Last week my fiancée was craving for indian food and we decided to go to this place but due to our smol mind, we forgot that our plane was about to take off in the next hour, right after we order 6 or 7 menu of off this restaurant 😂😂😂 We was a in a bit of a panic but luckily the staff of shahi maharani can wrap most of our orders in just 10 MINUTES!!!! AND ALL DEM FEWDZ TASTE SOOOO GOOOOODD!! When i take the first bite out of the cheese naan that i dip in the butter chicken, it was as if i was already landing in FLAVOUR TOWN 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Next time we visit SG we will come again for sure!!

Butter Chicken (SGD $34) @ Shahi Maharani. . This has a rich, thick, creamy smooth luscious curry gravy, full of milky sweet savoury spice flavour. . The spice mixture (including garlic paste, ginger paste, powdered turmeric, powdered coriander, salt, fenugreek seeds, powdered chili, powdered tandoori masala) is blended with tomato puree, butter, and yoghurt to form the curry. . The pre-marinated boneless chicken chunks are moist and tender, with delicious smoky sweet savoury spice flavour. Best paired with bread or rice. . . . Chicken Tikka (SGD $29) @ Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant. . Possibly the most premium version around, hand made with quality spices and refined culinary techniques befitting mughlai royalty. . Boneless chicken, marinated in spices and yoghurt, is skewered and tandoor roasted to perfection. The spices deeply infuse the chicken, giving it a distinctive orange red hue. . The chicken meat is tender and juicy and succulent, pulling apart easily. Each bite releases a bold meaty savoury sweet spice salty flavour, carrying an enticing smoky aroma. . Does all that justify the high price? You decide!. . . . Gajar Ka Halwa (SGD $12) @ Shahi Maharani North Indian Restaurant. . Hot and fragrant, this dollop of grated carrot and condensed milk stands tall, garnished with crushed almonds and pistachios. . More chunky and juicy than most, the vegetal sweet milky spice flavours here are more pronounced, with a light nutty note. . Served with cold creamy vanilla ice cream to contrast, lending a lovely floral earthy sweet flavour.

4.5 if I can rate this the way I want on google! That said - Really tasty Indian food tucked away in Raffles City where the aroma hits you before you enter the restaurant and gets you salivating. The food tasted as good as it smelt where the most unassuming but amazing dish for me was the Bharva Mushrooms. Curries (not featured) were so great and definitely punched in all the great flavors. Service was really great and they also had a live band (of sorts) entertaining you as you dine!

Prices are on the high side. We had 1/4 of Chicken Tandoori equating to only 2 pieces ($16.00 w/o GST). The meat was tender and moist. Fish Amritsari about 6 small pieces of red snapper ($32.00 w/o GST) was fresh and flavourful. Prawn Chilly Masala about 6 pcs were succulent ($38.00 w/o GST). You could request for it to be less spicy which we did. Vegetables dishes were all priced above $20 per serving. We had Aloo Gobi at $25 w/o GST. The cauliflower and potatoes were soft to the bite and packed with flavour. A portion of Basmati rice at $9.00 w/o GST can serve 3 diners of normal appetite. We found the Assorted Bread Basket of Plain Naan, Garlic Naan, Roomali Roti and Tandoori Parantha at $25.00 w/o GST to be extremely expensive. Service was fast and efficient. We did not have to wait long and all the dishes were served together. Plain water was not charged. Cracked pepper papadoms served with mint sauce and pickled onions were complimentary. Overall the food could do well with less salt. The mint sauce and the papadoms were super salty.

We visited Shahi Maharani multiple times before COVID for the lunch buffets. Enjoyed!! Exclusive. During Covid, buffets were closed. They came up with the new idea of serving the buffets (set lunch)for SGD 38++ on the table. We went for it and was surprised to see the kind of service and food (especially the taste and quantity). It was amazing.... You feel like coming every week there. Lovely service, lovely food, more than enough quantities of everything they served. I would say that they have maintained their standards. Just hats off to them. Want to expand my description little more: Weekend Buffet: (Veg , non veg options available) Street food (Unlimited- pani puri, papdi chaat, vada pav/Keema pav) Kebabs: 4 kinds of kebabs (not unlimited but more than enough) Set lunch (not unlimited, but much more than enough) Desert (ice cream. sweet, fruits). Too good... amazing experience.... Most recommended. please visit once if you are really a food lover. :)

Food 4*(North Indian cuisine) Ambiance 5* ( had live performance) Service 4* Value for money 3*( Sunday dinner , à la carte ) Located at Raffles City Mall, one of the few Indian restaurants in this area with a wide range of choices for vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians . Had the Sunday dinner which is a la carte for the weekends and needs a booking as was packed by 8pm . (Weekdays they have a buffet lunch which is a bit more value for money ) The service staff looked somewhat lost and struggled to keep Up with the crowd and orders . Food took a while to come . The singers on the stage put up a good performance of old Hindi classics to keep the crowd engaged while waiting for the food as well as to provide a nice ambiance! The Papri Chaat , vegetable pakoras and chicken kebabs were good starters . The Chola Bhatura is a good choice for vegetarians .Lot of other vegetarian Choices are there as well . Naan mixed basket , dal makhani and some chicken curry was good to fill up any residual gut space . The kulfi was good , as a final pallet cleanser for dessert. Overall it was a nice experience, food is not exactly value for money but given the fact that the performers needs to be paid as well , it’s a price for the over all experience.

We ordered the Christmas Special - Tandoori Chicken with Mince biryani. This was the 2nd time we ordered for Christmas- the 1st time was superb, this time was disappointing! The portions size (6-8) is unacceptable with a layering of biryani that lacked taste only sufficient for 3 adults. The tandoori chicken was flavored well. It seemed cost cutting has impacted the quality.

The menu has a good enough choices . The presentation, quality and taste of the dishes ordered was good . Soup, starter and main course were all good. The live band sang Happy Birthday song to celebrate my mother's birthday & the staff got us ice cream. They also took a family photo and instantly took a print and pasted on a card and presented to us, which was great. Overall we had a good time at this restaurant . I would recommend it.

Nice place and food tasted good. Especially the carrot halwa and chicken kebab. Fish gravy was little off... did not like it. Staffs were kind. The taxi dropped off me at fairmount hotel... but this restaurant is at raffles city shopping mall. But no worries, since both buildings were interconnected, I could just walk to the next. There is a corner to conduct some performance like singing. Reaaaaly traditional for Indians... haha.

Went there for lunch buffet. They offer 1-1 lunch buffet deal on weekdays. Delicious breads and paneer. Sweets were too tempting. Restaurant was accommodating enough to allow us to join the buffet just 20 mins before the end time. They operate 12 noon to 2.30 pm for lunch. Kids below 5 years dine free.

This North Indian Cuisine was flavourful & delicious, though somewhat pricy and thus the 4 Stars. If you are on a budget, don't come here. If you are keen on flavours with good sized portions for sharing, then this is a place for you and a friend/family. This place caters mainly to the Executives working around this location. They have not yet started their Live Music. You will have to call them.

Ambience is good Food is so so not so special. Most of the items does not taste up to the mark mainly if we know the right taste of that cuisine. First timers can visit but not recommended unless no choice in that area. Shrimp were burnt. Vegetarian is good but non-veg not up to the mark. Pani poori - poori is not good although look was good. Kulfi is more of powder taste rather than normal fresh made. Chicken biryani is too much dampness . Staff is good n friendly . Food taste definitely need to be improved.

INCREDIBLE !!!! Fabulous !!! LOVED IT. Feeling super lucky to be able to find this amazing restaurant to have a blissful family time and get some sumptous food. We celebrated our Anniversary and loved the food, ambience, live music and the great service. The Papad with Chutney and Sirka Onions were brilliant. Then we had Mil Jhuli Thali for Starters, Butter Chicken, Dal Makhni, Chicken Biryani, Malai Kofta, Kulcha, Pudina Paratha & Jalebi. Everything was phenomenal. Wow !!! And last but not the least, they brought this surprise for our Anniversary. Thank you Sanjay. Your service was impeccable.

Buffet on weekdays : 38 sgd Weekends: 48 sgd Ambience: 4/5 Food : 3/5 Drinks not included in buffet. If you are going here for buffet, then read this hand on experience. The chat options are great here but the main course is not that great. Non-vegetarians have a little bit more choices but vegetarians have very less option in main course. There was only rice, Daal, Palak kofta and Naan in buffet for vegetarians. If you are a vegetarian, then the main course will disappoint you. The rice was not properly cooked, Daal was okay, Naan was hard, only kofta was good. Deserts are good.

You might get a bit lost if you Dont know your way around Raffles City. Located in a quiet corner, the tables were full on a Saturday Night and the ambience was aaapretty classy. The restaurant had many ‘foreigner patrons who were definitely looking like that they were no ‘new’ apprentices to Indian cuisine! We were a group of four adults and an infant and were led to a side couch almost ‘private’ arrangement which felt real good! Aam Panna was the drink I went for and it was so good that I repeated my order again.Non Veg Sizzler was just melt-in-the-mouth and super yummy.Mutton Biriyani was flavourful! Definitely a ‘Shahi Maharani’ feel and will keep visiting often!

We visited Shahi Maharani a few days ago with family (4 of us) Location: Not used to surfing the malls on a daily basis but as is the case with some large ones in Singapore, you got to remember the level and the unit number and then keep looking for the signage to help guide you through to the restaurant. Once you're on Level 3 of Raffles City (there are several entrances), you'll notice some signage pointing to the restaurant. Booking: I had made the booking prior to visiting - fairly seamless experience via Chope and had a quick look through the restaurant's online menu as well to ensure they have the varieties I'd be looking for in an Indian restaurant. Not a laundry list, but the usual culprits so I was satisfied. the place had contactless menus - scan a QR code and then look at the non-responsive website on your phone, a bit of a bummer for my ageing eyes. Food: As I mentioned, some usual varieties as appetisers/starters - however worth mentioning that we had the Lamb Seekh kebab (LSK) and the Galaouti Kebabs (GK). While the LSK were decent, the GK's paranthas were not worth eating at all - hard and crunchu and there is no way you can eat those along with the GKs; only way was to eat them separately. Spoiled the experience of the GKs. The rest of the food - Lachcha Paranthas (for kids), Rumali rotis, Kadai Paneer and Chicken Tikka Masala were really tasty. Complementary masala papads as well. Overall, I'd say the restaurant excelled in their food quality Ambience: Quiet place, excellent for fine dining with family or friends. Adorned with traditional decor that made the place have an Indian/Traditional/Shahi feel to it. I learnt that the live music had been taken off during the pandemic (oh well!) but quite sure that would have been a good addon. Service quality: Funny, that with the amount of people visiting restaurants these days during the pandemic, you really need to ensure your guests are well looked after. One of the attendants got us the plates and then asked us if we had ordered a certain dish. When we said "No", he took back the plates and placed (without cleaning, mind you; my son had already put his hands on the plate placed in front of him) on the table next to us. COVID-19 times!! Additionally, in a fine-dining situation, you expect the attendants to be aware of the needs of the diners. However, absolutely no one looking over. Had to raise, or politely call out a couple of times to get some attention. The only time I didn't need any attention was when the glass of water went empty - ready to pour in! Overall - I'd say I would recommend the place for quality food and to visit during special family events/moments or official meals. We spent around ~200 SGD without alcohol, so I'd say slightly expensive to visit for your usual food cravings

⁰Impeccable service & great tasting food! The staffs are simply awesome! They gave a surprise kulfi with a candle for my dad's birthday and even took a pic of us & placed it in a photo holder and gave it to us. I have been to many restaurants but I have never experienced such warmth before. Shahi Maharani has set such a standard that till date, no one has been able to cross that. We will definitely return to Shahi Maharani! Thank you once again for creating such a memorable experience for us.

Recently ordered their special Shahi shahajani biryani. It was really bad. To be specific it had some leafy vegetables in it. It was more like some gravy tossed with rice. It was no where near biryani, more like some masala rice. I usually don't review food, but after spending more than $30, I think its justified to let the restaurant and others to know that their biryani is not great.

We had the buffet, they nailed it with the unlimited starters, the main course is just an add on, can be avoided if possible.

The best Indian food we have ever had . The people working there are very friendly and good memory. They remember what we had ordered few years ago. We never get bored with what we ordered. Highly recommend !

Buffet comes with - Wide range of different naans - chicken, fish and Mutton dishes - Dhal, - Aloo and bhindi - ends your meal with a portion of 3 different desserts including fruits. All served to the table. Service : the best Great food and good service, wat more can u ask for!

in the interest of time we took the lunch buffet options. the selections are ok taste good, i tried the mango lassi which is too thick to my taste. with the price tag does not justify it, we can get similar delicacy elsewhere at more affordable rate.

Visited the place for a formal dinner... Firstly the food was just awesome ! The paneer, the daal and other dishes were just too tasty. While the price is on the higher side, sure this a very great fine dining place for those looking for authentic Indian food. While I a vegetarian, my colleagues who tasted the Non-vegetarian food were impressed as well. Good service as there were couple of waiters ready to help us.

Food is Nice. Ambience is fine. The best thing about the place were the Dessert and Drink. We tried Jalebi and it was mouth watering both in looks and taste. Was freshly made me it was amazing. A lady made the mock tail for me and it was really refreshing 😊 Love to go back for the Jalebiyaan and drinks.

Delicious food with sizable portions for a North Indian restaurant. As expected, as North Indian food is exotic, it is pricier than many other types of cuisines (Japanese, English, American, Chinese, South Indian etc.) in Singapore; expect dishes costing $22 - $36 each. Would suggest avoiding the kebabs if you don't want to pay $34 - $36 (list price excludes GST & 10% service charge).

Went for a weekend buffet and not impress with the quality. Let’s start with the good - lamb kebab, daal, pani puri and gulab jamun were really good. Their kids menu was also good with plenty to chose from. We ordered butter chicken and our son liked it. However everything else in buffet disappointed us. I would have returned the paneer tikka and chicken tikka had it been an a la crate order ( dry, cold and chewy. Need I say more). But given the small portions being served on table we just chose not to eat them. Tikki, rest of the appetisers, Amritsari fish and paneer main course were ok ish, definitely not worth recommending. Tips : try their a la carte menu. Our friends recommendation not mine. Go to buffet slightly later. We went close to start and can only assume the food quality was low if it was leftover from last night or cooked way before lunch time.

We have been to Shahi Maharani a few times and have always had a great dining experience. Food is tasty and of excellent quality with very well balanced flavors. Service is equally nice. Would definitely keep going back for more.

Had buffet lunch 2 for $62, Ambience is very good. There is no wash basin inside, have to go to public toilet! Butter nan was good but other nan were dry. Panneer-tikka was average. Desert was good but served very little, serving was slow. Self-serving buffet would be more efficient with little wastage and waiting time.
