If you're looking for authentic vegetarian Indian cuisine, Raj is the place to go. I've been frequenting Raj for over 3 years now and their food is consistently good. My favourites are: Rava Masala Dosa, Palak Paneer, Malai Kofta, and Chole Bathura!

Very good North Indian style restaurant. Love the food here and I visit frequently with my family. Never had any complaints. But they have lost a lot of customers after moving to this place from near Mustafa center. I hope they get more customers back. Only negative is that its not close to any bus stop or MRT. So have to walk a bit, esp. for elders it might be difficult on a hot sunny day.

Poor n very slow service... waited half an hour for chat take away order. Before order I asked how long will it take for my order, was told 10 minutes..After payment , come back that one of my order, no bread so need to change my order rather than refund it. Dahi Bhalla was too watery First n last visit..that's lots more restaurant around. .

I'm not sure what happened to Raj over the years. I've faithfully followed them from Syed Alwi and Biopolis but since they moved to their current location a few years ago, the food quality and atmosphere has really declined. From the musty smell of the restaurant, to the heavy handed use of oil and what I'm guessing is some MSG in their food (my scalp gets hot as I have a sensitivity to it), I've given the place at its current location three tries over the past 2 years and this time will be my last - there are plenty of other great vegetarian indian places in the neighbourhood.

Not crowded on weekdays. Food is decent and prices are not too bad. Service can be better but in general, friendly and always helpful.

Went to the Farrer park location. Nothing is authentic. Food tastes like it's made from frozen ready-to-eat packets. Expensive as well. Only the food names are fancy! Indian cuisine stalls at kopitiam stalls serve much better food.

I'm not vegetarian but I love the thosai here. The price is a little on the high side and the service is a little iffy, but can't beat the mysore thosai sold here. The mushroom briyani is a hit too. My second visit here at their new place at Farrer parkmrt. Ordered the Gobi Manchurian and it was an instant hit amongst us at the table. The garlic naan was a little bit underwhelming but I did enjoy the brinjal curry.

The food is just abysmal. Had ordered the chaat and expected some semblance to the Indian flavours, but was utterly disappointed by the flavours. The pav bhaji was just a waste on money. Service is barely present but was quick. The ambience isn't something to crave for, but isn't bad either. All in all, a place desperately trying to mimic the chaat and failing miserably.

Good place for Indian Vegetarian food- has both North and South Indian Cuisine. People like Chaat items and variety of Dosas that this place has to offer. Used to be busy place in early days.

The place had just opened for the day and maybe some cleaning was taking place. It smelt damp and felt musty. The staff was also speaking loudly at the back which made for an unpleasant welcome. One of the waitresses who served us was aloof and rude. She did not have a smile and almost seemed to hurry us along when we were placing our orders. Moroever, when we ordered the jamun, she had to ask "What's that?" in a very oblivious manner. It was only when we stated "it's a sweet" did she understand what we were referring to and we had to face her further negative attitude with "you mean GULAB jamun". This was ridiculous as what we were ordering was one of the most basic Indian sweets and for her to respond in such an uncouth manner was unsettling. Kindly see to it that the staff are courteous. A mention has to be given to the polite waiter who served us and even offered suggestions wherein we could order "1 by 2" for soup so itcould be poured equally into 2 bowls. The menu is organized well so I did not have to enquire if the dish was vegan. The tomato soup packed a punch and was a little strong. Vegetable sheekh kebab was unique and quite an experience! It had a multitude of layers, each with its own unique flavour. Naan was soft when it arrived but had to be consumed quickly due to it becoming chewy within minutes. Aloo gobi was delicious, with the flavours permeating the air. It was strong yet palatable. The gulab jamun was also soft all throughout but a tad too sweet!

Nice place for family dinner.. service was quick .. food was really good. Missi roti was delicious. Must try. So was mix veg with gravy. Buttermilk was refreshing and had very distinct Carom and cumin seed flavours .. will go again.

It was one of the worst Indian restaurants I have been to recent times. We had been there a couple of years ago and it was pretty decent. This time, the experience and the food was very bad. We were surprised we were the only ones in the restaurant and we knew why later! We ordered Dal makhani and was served a very basic Dal tadka with no flavour at all. The food was overpriced for the taste and quality. Will not recommend going again until they improve their standards and food quality.

They donโ€™t serve South Indian food for the time being. So it is North Indian and some continental.Food is just ok but very very pricey. Almost 3 times the cost of normal Little India restaurants. Service is ok. Fancy menu but not sure if they can pull off all that.

Went to this with the experience of eating at Raj, Biopolis. But this is quite a disaster. We were the very few customers at the opening time of the restaurant. The Masala dosas that we were ordered aren't tasty. The Masala or the curry used in dosas doesn't smell like made fresh. We left most of the food that we have ordered . Personally never again will visit this restaurant. Never again. The service is okay. But the quality of the food sucks and I mean it.

The food is nice but overall experience was bad. We checked before we even took a table if they were honoring Burrple Beyond discount (which we later found out was not applicable on Jan 27th). Ashok (perhaps the manager) misguided us on discount by confirming they accepted. He also advised to unnecessarily double order since we were not hungry and wanted to take out. At the checkout we didn't get the code from burpple and he completely shirked off his responsibility and started counting rules. It was a $10 discount for which he didn't hesitate to first lie and later shirk his shoulders off.

Raj has easily become one of my favourite Indian restaurants. They have a very extensive menu with both North and South Indian cuisines. Everything we have tried has been excellent โ€” different types of dosai, Paneer Kalimirch and Palaak Paneer. The staff takes their sweet time to serve the dishes, but each one is worth the wait. I very much appreciate that they suggest alternatives when the dishes we ordered were not a good combination. They were not pushy, even suggesting that we can try one piece of a certain dessert first, instead of ordering several. High chairs are ready for families with kids. It's very convenient for those taking public transport as it's sitting just outside Farrer Park MRT station. I have dined here a few times and will continue visiting Raj for comfort vegetarian Indian food.
