Stumbled upon this place and no regrets! Had their oysters during happy hour and they were worth every cent. So fresh and delicious, a dozen was barely enough. Surprisingly their spicy rigatoni was good too! They definitely did the tomato base right. Their threadfin was also another highlight of our meal. Apart from the skin being more scaly than usual, the meat was tender and juicy. We all had food coma after that. Service was excellent and the vibe was just lovely. Would be back for their oysters for sure!

Excellent place. The staff are outstanding. Very helpful, polite, and friendly. Love the oysters (you can get lots of them during happy hours). Amazing cocktails! Expensive place though.

Came here to satisfy my oyster craving. I agree with some previous posts that the oysters are indeed smaller size as compared to other oyster bars. Maybe the restaurant can consider bringing in bigger type of oyster from other sources. Love the vibes, excellent customer service. Staff refill water promptly with great smiles. The decor of the restaurant reminds me of a beach side bistro. A cozy place to chill with your best mates. However, I find food portions are really small. Especially disappointed when we saw the slider came with just only 2 pieces given the price we paid. We were too used to the impression of having 3! We were a group of 2 ladies + a child ended up still hungry. The restaurant may consider to improve their generosity in portion. Will I be back again? Probably not, what a shame Bcz the food taste are actually creative and well balanced!

"Potentially a 5-star place if the quality is the same on subsequent visits" Ordered multiple rounds of oysters and loved every other dish that we ordered! It is a must-try place!

What a wonderful refresh to Humpback. Loved the little Oyster bar, ambience is chill and relaxed. Great service as usual. And the food is excellent. We had red prawn tartar with wine jelly and the octopus to start, with mains being mushroom pasta and the salmon. Cooked extremely well with a wonderful flavor profile. Washed down with some of the great wine choices. Can totally recommend this little gem! And if it’s just for a glass, they still have outdoor tables.

I have to say the dining experience here was simply wonderful. We are not huge fans of high chair seating but this was an exception, which we didn’t mind. We reached on time and had made reservations prior, which was a good thing as this place gets packed quite quickly. Service staff was friendly and quickly escorted us to our nice table. Ms Binu, who was our server was super friendly. The oyster spread was impressive and we ended up ordering 20 of them (assorted). My favorite was the Fanny Bay and Golden Crust. We also ordered 4 cocktails - old fashion, martini, basil spritz and the salted gin. All of them were super ! Can’t wait to try them again. I’m not really a fan of cabbage but their charred cabbage was to die for ! We also loved the burrata with sea urchin (a first try for us) and the wild rice with sea grapes was super deliciously fresh. The tuna tartare with the truffles melted in the mouth. Love the crispness of the chips. Overall the experience here was on point and Chef Polo took us through a quick culinary journey of how these dishes were formulated. Can’t wait to get back here for some more indulgence ! The place is nice, warm, service is excellent and so is the food. It’s a bit pricey but then you really get your money’s worth. Bon Appetite !

Quality, not quantity. The food is delicious, but keep in mind that portions are small and made for sharing (thankfully they put that on the menu). Atmosphere is great, and food is tasty. The salmon Wellington was very nice. Saw lots of people having the oysters. Don't waste your money on the bloody Mary, it is 90% ice and not worth $22. Though the lobster was a nice touch!

Oysters were really fresh! For happy hour deal of $3 per oyster- it is value for money. The charred cabbage was easily the highlight of my lunch - even my bf was blown away when he took a bite. Octopus was fresh and had a good texture without being rubbery. Clams were fresh and sweet. Would recommend 5/5!

Went here for the oysters & wine and ended up ordering a couple snacks in addition. The croquette was creamy & perfectly crispy, the grilled cabbage was absolutely scrumptious. Loved all of the oyster varieties we tried. Our server was so attentive and gave us some great wine recommendations!

I hadn't visited Humpback since July of last year when they a very different aesthetic and atmosphere. But I recently got the chance to visit again with one of my friends. I loved the new design. It was cosy and cute. The customer service was just as great as it was the last time I had visited. But most of all, I loved the food! Oh. My. God. Y'all. We had ordered a dozen of the Hama Hama oysters during happy hour. The flavor of the oysters were so fresh and vibrant that we ended up ordering a dozen and a half more. We order a crab based dish next. It was good and enjoyable enough to finish but a bit too much vinegar for our tastes. We ordered a sweet wine on the side and it paired so well with the dessert that we ordered. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart that came with buckwheat. It was delicious. I still dream about that tart. I want to come back just for the oysters and the tart. I highly suggest ending it off with the tart. You will not regret it and best of all. IT'S NUT FREE.

Super nice casual lovely dinner spot! First time here and it’s a hit :) Oysters were so fresh and sweet! The food items were all really good as well! To top it off, lovely service from all the staff that made it a home-run for us. Definitely will be back soon again 👍🏽

Went there during happy hour. Had a happy time. Recommend the oysters. Coromandel ones are really good. Service was good and servers were attentive. I like the chocolate tart. Sweet and a little salty. Personally, I love the muscle toast & iberico pork dishes :)

The place looks very lovely and the staff were all very kind and friendly. Our table was very small so they suggested to serve our mains after we were done with the oysters. The food was amazing and very tasty although I’d say it’s a bit costly considering the smaller portions. I’d think you’d enjoy more if you came during happy hour! Definitely will return again!

Go for the oysters but try couple some of the other dishes. For me it was the sardines sandwich which took me back to the Turkish coast line and some memorable moments. They always have a good selection of oysters, this time they had 2 from US, 1 each from Canada and NZ. Get a bottle is Riesling , dozen or two of the fresh oysters and sit outside to soak in the atmosphere of the historic part of town.

We love it here. Never had a bad meal and we often use it as a go-to if visited by out-of-towners or those new to SG. Frequently changed menu, decent happy hour menus, chefs and bar tenders alike happy to entertain allergy restrictions and bubble up something new if for some reason there’s a requirements. Tasty veg and seafood centric menu boasts everything from the bordering on high-chef gourmet / finer dining dishes to more home styled tummy busting heartiness.

A little pretentious and over priced, but oysters were good. The Japanese dressing for the oysters was especially tasty. Good polite service. Will I be back? Hmm not sure at those prices, but if I am, I will make sure before 7pm while happy hour is on....

Blue pool and Hama Hama came with a pungent smell, cloudy appearance and sulphuric taste (Hama Hama was written off the bill after the negative feedback to the staff). However, recommend to go for Fanny Bay and Calm Cove as they are fresh with creamy aftertaste. Another miss was the mussels that were puny, mushy and overly fishy. We might be the unlucky few that was served such inconsistent quality as this seemed to be a popular dish amongst the diners. This was left half eaten as there were an average of 3 bad ones in every 5 shells. (Refer to photos) However, all is not lost as the charred grilled cabbage, uni and hamachi bite were the fantastic (if price was not taken into consideration). Would not recommend as the taste does not justify the price. We left with queasy stomach, disappointed and underwhelmed.

Came here cause someone recommended oysters and we ended up having a whale of a time with all the fantastic dishes on the menu! Every single dish hit the right notes, very balanced, and our feast ended off with a flourish when we took a bite of our very first gluten-free chocolate cake! And that’s a fun fact for those who are on a gluten-free diet, there’s an option to choose gluten-free for most of the dishes here. What we ordered: 5 cheese croquette, charred cabbage, scallop ceviche, big eyed tuna, skrei cod, spicy rigatoni, flourless chocolate cake, and of course the oyster platter! All happening during oyster happy hour 🎉

Food and drinks were all good. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back as often as I can 😊 Forgot to take a photo of the 5 cheese croquette on a bed of mushroom purée of sorts - but the flavors were mild and texture mushy, will not order again. Spicy Rigatoni was my favorite of the night followed by the first cocktail I had which was Pal by the Havana; it had rum, Dolin vermouth infused chocolate mint (which I couldn’t taste), Campari and peach liqueur.

This is a really cool place to chill and hang out with friends. The service was top-notch and the waiters seem to know exactly what we needed with one look. As good as the service is, I do have some comments on the food. The striploin and dover sole were good. The starters and small plates were interesting as well. However the oysters were pretty small, and I also felt that the overall harmony and taste of the dishes were somewhat slightly underwhelming.

They probably serve one of the freshest air flown oysters in Singapore, at an especially reasonable price. Weekend daytime, along with every Monday evenings, their freshly chucked oysters are $4++. From farm to table, within 36 hours. The other parts of the menu, felt like the team broke down a full European omakase menu, into bite size ala carte line items. Portions are not huge, flavors are explosive, and introductions are done each dish served. The number of tables are also not too large. After the recent renovation, they now serve a new list of food items. It's primarily seafood, which is lovely. Arnold's recommendations were gorgeously on point, especially the red prawn tartare, and the smoked hamachi pastrami. He's also very funny and personable, along with his other team members. All in all, very nice folks from the Jigger and Pony group (same family as Gibson), who clearly know what they're doing. Not the cheapest of places, but there's definitely a very good reason why I'd visit Humpback at least once.

Great service and well prepared food that although you pay quite a premium for, is as good as the top restaurants around. Their grilled octopus is one of the better ones I’ve had and the dips that’s served with dishes are very good. A great overall meal best enjoyed with a group of friends.

An awesome dining experience at Humpback with my lovely colleagues. The food was so good with amazing service. Special call out to Daphne, she is so friendly and provided an excellent service. She goes to the extra mile and created 2 personalised postcards with our photo. Oysters - Very fresh and juicy. Happy Hour Oysters - $4 each All Day on Mon & PH | Wed-Sun opening to 7pm Buckwheat bread with Yuzu butter- bread has a chewy texture and fragrant, pair well with Yuzu butter. Prawns & Octopus - nicely grilled. Kurobuta pork chop - one of my favourite, the meat is so tender and well done. Dessert - ladies always have room for desserts. Toasted Castella Cake with Creme Fraiche Ice Cream and Soy Caramel: Moist & soft castella cake, a good balance of sweetness & salty and balance well with creme Fraiche Ice cream. The chocolate tart was my favourite dessert, the tart shell is slightly crispy and not too thick. The chocolate filling has a hint of nutty flavour & bitterness and blends well buckwheat. I highly suggest ending your meal off with the tart. You will not regret it. It’s to de-stressed. Dining: Both indoor and outdoor Parking: parallel parking along Bukit Pasoh, open space carpark or at Dorsett residence. Nearest MRT station: Outram Note: please make your reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.

Been here a couple of times just for their oysters. Rest of the food were quite average. Pork secreto was over-cooked but service staff was nice enough to re-do the entire dish for us. Compliment to their good service recovery. Recommend this place just for their good oyster selections.

Frequented Humpback in the past because of their oysters. First time back since their revamped space and menu and it was a wonderful upgrade. Though the oysters have become smaller and more expensive, the rest of the food made up for it. Was pleasantly surprised by how well-thought out and balanced the dishes were. Favourites were the red prawn tartare and the salmon! Flavours were incorporated really well and balanced each other out. Will definitely come back even without the Restaurant Week deal. Thank you Humpback for a great meal!

Oysters were great but food not so much. I would recommend coming here to get your oyster fix during happy hour (as they are 3$ each compared to the usual 7$) and then head somewhere else for dinner. The fish was tough and overcooked, and the lemon pasta lacked salt. The other 2 dishes were okay but not memorable. We also had to wait 30mins for our oysters and a further 45mins for our food. It was rather disappointing as the meal started off quite well and then endly badly with the hot food. Will I return for oysters? Most probably, but I definitely won't return for the hot food.

  • 5/5 Joshua Y. 4 years ago on Google
For the oysters and the service... and the Lager... fabulous! Great fresh oysters at unbeatable happy hour prices. Each is distinctly different and enjoyable. Beer selection can be better but alternate with the wines and cocktails and its a simply wonderful evening. Freshly grated horse radish makes this even better! Whether a date night or a boys night....this place rocks. Tapas are lovely and mains are done right too. Drop by if you're an oyster fan or simply for this review... you wont be disappointed.

Great food, fantastic ambience and vibe, excellent service, and the best oysters I’ve yet had in Singapore! The variety of oysters was very good and offered a nice, broad range of types and flavors from sweet, clean, crisp and sharp, creamy and smooth, to salty, briny, and pungent. And incredibly fresh tasting. The vinegar and horseradish served alongside fresh lemon slices is greatly appreciated as well as optional tabasco. The variety of seafood dishes on the menu was good too. The lobster roll was a standout - extremely flavorful and cooked nice and firm but still tender without being at all overly chewy or mushy. Creative and well plated food overall. Oysters and cocktails are the best though, with the other menu items satisfying and good but not as amazing as the oysters, so would probably return just for the oysters and order small other items as a side.

We had 2 rounds of today's picks: Hama Hama, Blue Pool, Eld Inlet, Disco Hama and Sun Seeker. Oysters were fresh and at SGD3 a pop, was a good happy hour deal, given this is Singapore. Smallish restaurant with indoor and outdoor seatings, reservations recommended.

(Translated by Google) 蚝 SGD$3, after testing 4 models, I feel that HAMA HAMA is the best food, cool and taste, after taste has a savory taste. Recommended Ahi Tuna SGD$30, sour and slightly spicy with creamy juice, is more innovative than appetizer. Finally, crispy pork belly SGD$35 is the least worthwhile. It is like Hong Kong simmered clams with cranberry sauce. There is no gravy to dry, crispy skin is hard, and there is a sound, it is regrettable.

Tried this place out for their oysters and was pleasantly surprised by the other dishes and drinks as well. The ambience was vibrant and friendly, but what made our experience great was the awesome bartender Bryan who shared and explained the menu to us. There is a good variety of oysters that were so fresh and shucked in front of us. We also ordered the swordfish with mint jelly, which was a refreshing dish. For dessert, please try the flourless chocolate cake! Wonderfully amazing experience!

Service was good but the Oysters, wow.... It was tiny, 2 bad oysters out of 16.... Totally bad experience. They replaced one but when it was bad the second time, I am surprised the chef did not even catch it. Wasn't value for money and you can definitely get better oysters elsewhere for a more affordable price. Nothing against the restaurant but everything on the menu is bite sized. Pricy cos every dish served was tiny despite being meant for sharing. In other words, you order this or that not for oneself but that everyone at table can have a taste. End up needing to order quite a no. of dishes which tho they were mostly yummy and quite unique in taste, I wld rather they serve in full per person meal sizing. Mind you just cos each dish comes in small servings does not mean lower pricing but in fact, if they didn't leave a small note to say they were for sharing, I wld have assumed I was getting a whole dish to myself. Service was professional tho it did take 1 order of Cod Fish abt 25mins to arrive... ordered at start and we went thru every other order and had to ask for the Cod 3x before it finally arrived. It was nice but I'd say not as worth the wait as some of the other dishes. So a good place to go for that special occasion but not really one to have a full meal. Oh ya, oyster happy hour before 7pm worth it at half price ($3/pc instead of $7). Table of 4 next to us must've orded abt 3 dozen !

Portion very very small even for the mains... felt overpriced. Service and presenting are good.

Walked in for cocktail and desserts after our dinner, only to realise that this place serves great food too, will be back for dinner! Love the cheerfulness of the staff and positive vibes of the place, the overall experience is really pleasant! Thank you!

Wrote into them to inform them about the lack of communication for our dinner and how it was handled. I would have let this issue slide if some replied and dealt with this but guess what.... 2 weeks after our dinner still no reply.

Great happy hour oysters and wine. Enjoyed the pasta dish. What made this restaurant most memorable was the enjoyable conversation with the waiter David, who took time to chat with us and build rapport. Will definitely be back to chat with David for sure! :)

Happy hour oyster is a very good deal. Fresh and meaty. Gin and tonic is okie while the green basil is quite nice.

Removing 1 star cuz the oyster was to creamy (purely my preference tho), but other than that, a really good meal

Had Xmas Dinner there. Preferred the outdoor seating which had a great atmosphere with the surrounding old sch architecture. Oysters were fresh although our fav type was out. Loved the prawn with capsicum topping. Scallop pasta was great as well. Enjoyed totally!

Really good food, but price point of course you pay for what you get. Small-med portions. Great if you share! Extremely friendly staff. Visit their site for menu first as their happy hour ends at 6pm no longer 8pm, which was a disappointment.

Just adore Humpback. Lovely inspiring menu, excellent service and great value. Really relaxed setting in a great part of town. Arnell is also amazing and we felt really well looked after as nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend ❤️

Oysters are definitely plump and succulent. Weren’t lucky enough to try the other varieties. Roasted cabbage was surprisingly good. It was meaty, flavourful and moist. 5 cheese croquettes is a must try. Overall, nice experience and friendly service.

Came here to try out the oysters, but wasn’t that satisfied. One of the “golden mantle” oyster smell unpleasant😕 Menu changes once awhile so weren’t able to order some of the dishes we wanted. The staff was attentive and accommodating👌🏻

Had a very pleasant birthday dinner @ The Humpback! The services were top-notch and even going the extra miles to make sure we had halal-friendly options. They carefully explained the menus for us first timers and suggesting non-pork & non-alcoholic menus, even provided the options to take out the alcohol out of some dishes if we wanted to. After knowing we were there for a birthday celebration, they provided us with a complimentary birthday cake, a birthday card & polaroid signed by all the crews ❤️ For the food we tried 3 different types of oyster, spicy rigatoni, and big eye tuna. The oysters were fresh and each type had a distinct taste to it. The tuna was very refreshing and balanced with the sweetest pear and passion fruit. The rigatoni was very light & tasty, pasta was perfectly cooked with sweet cherry tomatoes. Thank you so much for the excellent services and making sure we had an enjoyable experience! Definitely a go-to when visiting Singapore ❤️

  • 4/5 Ranice T. 1 year ago on Google
The food is good, but I feel like the portions are really small for the price. E.g. the small bowl of rigatoni was really small but costed $29!! Also the oysters were kind of small :( I agree with the above but nonetheless the food was good, none of the food we ate was bad, and the staff was attentive. The place was very clean. ^ my boyfriend

Had an awesome dinner today where we celebrated my aunt's birthday. Arnold was especially stella in his attentiveness and care throughout our dinner. We also received a really nice memorabilia photo of our night signed by all the staff. We were truly touched by the whole team. Food was immaculate as well kudos to the kitchen team . Look forward to seeing you guys when you reopen after your renovation.

A very positive experience , where you can see the Oysters being freshly shunked. The Happy hour for Oysters ends at 6.30pm, and each oyster is half-priced at $4. We also had the Octopus and Scallop. It's a very nice place to chill for a couple of hours but the menu is limited. Service is excellent.

Food was delicious and service was great! No regrets celebrating mom’s birthday here as the folks really enjoyed themselves. Music is a little loud (for lunchtime! Though it’ll probably be perfect for evening bar vibes), but not unpleasant. Great experience overall and will definitely be back.

The oysters are just super fresh! My family ordered many rounds and just cannot get enough of it! Service is great, ambience is lovely! Will sure visit again!

Passed by here while thinking of having drinks before dinner. Haven’t been here before, so why not? Oysters were fresh and succulent, and the dishes we had were flavorful, with the manila clams being superb.

  • 2/5 Peyton S. 8 months ago on Google
Only the buckwheat bread and yuzu butter was tasty, everything else (hamachi, mussel toast, red prawn tartare, octopus and happy hour oysters) was just okay and not worth the price. The hot food could have been warmer and the cold food and white wine could have been colder. Slightly inflexible about ordering another 3 oysters after having a half dozen because the minimum order is 6 oysters… Restaurant was too warm to comfortably sit through to order any large plates or desserts. Slightly disappointing as we were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday - won’t be back.

Here in Singapore, oysters aren’t cheap, to be honest. They cost $8 per piece after happy hours, but it’s worth it to try at least once so that you know which oysters you prefer. Personally, I don't like big and overly creamy oysters… instead, I prefer oysters with a clean and fresh taste and they have it here. So this may be the best spot for really good oysters ~ love the sweet, clean & slightly salty oysters they have.

Amazing food and service! The staff gave great recommendations and we were blown away by the dishes! Highly recommend the 1) grilled tiger prawns - so fresh and flavour was amazing! 2) crispy scale red amadai- this was definitely the highlight of the day, the pumpkin purée with lobster oil was just pure perfection!! and 3) toasted castella cake! The staff gave a lovely birthday surprise for my friend as well! We really enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely be back again!

Food was great! Although the foods we ordered were not complex or complicated, it was simple enough to tantalize your taste buds. Service was impeccable. This place is not a Michelin star restaurant but the service here definitely made it feel like one if not better. Staffs were extremely kind, helpful, friendly and attentive. Will definitely recommend!
